Day #2- Nowhere to Run

“If you only let me explain…”

Of course, the magician was cut off of his sentence as he had been for the past ten minutes. His hands sat in front of him, shackled. He did his best to stay still, since every little movement would only cause the iron bounds to tighten ever so slightly. Who would’ve thought he would been wearing the very same shackles he had created to protect the people of the circle…

“Silence! Nothing you say will erase your mistakes. The evidence is far greater than whatever you have to offer!” The man in the middle shouted, slamming his staff to silence him.

“There’s nothing to explain, it is clear as day what happened.” The woman to the right spoke next, her emerald eyes glared at Marvin, her gaze almost piercing through his very soul. It almost felt as if a boulder was being placed on his shoulders and he was being crushed slowly. “He felt jealous towards Mr. Jackson’s success. He build IRIS after all…”

“THAT IS NOT TRUE!” Marvin screamed, throwing himself at the three judges. What Marvin wasn’t expecting was to slam himself with an electrified field. The shock sent him flying backwards, a groan shooting from his mouth when he landed on his back. They had him caged too? His eyes close shut, but even then all he could see was Jameson’s terrified expression while he called for him. While he asked for his help… before being taken away…

Tears soon slide down his temple, getting lost in his vibrant mint chocolate hair. “I did not kill him…” Marvin whispered.

“That tome was off limits and forgotten for a reason. It was lost for a reason!” The man with the staff resumed. “Mr. Jackson created these rules for a reason, and you have always been one to break them, despite being a founder of the circle. You use your magic in a disgraceful way, for what? To entertain? To pull magic tricks?”

After catching his breath Marvin manages to sit. They always saw him as the weak link, his tittle didn’t matter. The only person that believed in him was Jameson and now he’s…

“Without me, the circle falls apart…”

“No, without you, the circle will rise.” The woman spoke once more. “You have nowhere to run, Marvin. You will pay for your crimes.”

The judge to the left had been quiet the entire trail, until now. Their cloak covered their features, though Marvin could tell by the way they rose from their chair the held a very delicate manner. The other two judges quiet and sat down, letting them speak. “Marvin…” Their voice was soft. “By the evidence we’ve gather, we find you guilty and charge you with treason for the murder for Jameson Jackson, founder of IRIS. We have no other choice but to sentence you to death.”

Request: @ongaku-ato-kakikomi​ - Alright! :) I have this idea then: imagine having been in love with George O'Malley for a while now and wanting to confess to him, but his father dies and it's no longer the right moment, and so instead you're just doing your best to be there for him, and a few weeks later (maybe? I don't know, you can choose the time frame) he thanks you and ends up confessing his feelings for you? I don't know, I just think it would be quite a cute thing.

It wasn’t the best time to get to know someone just after they had lost one of their parents. You had liked George for a while, having taken interest as soon as you started the internship together at Seattle Grace Hospital. You had never had the guts to tell him how you felt though. No matter how much you liked him, you couldn’t bear to lose your friendship with him if he didn’t like you in return. Just as you finally got the courage to tell him, his father tragically died, and it certainly wasn’t the time to tell him how you felt then. Instead, you decided to be there for him in the way that he needed.

You supported him and then worked with him until he was able to give you a genuine smile and slowly became himself once again. In the time you spent taking care of him, you had gotten a lot closer and you were only able to fall deeper and deeper in love with him. It took you months to get him back to himself, but it was worth it to see him become stronger and able to accept the change that came with the loss of his father.

You had been at home when George came back with a bouquet of your favourite flowers and held them out to you.

“You bought me flowers?” You smiled, taking them.

“I wanted to say thank you for everything that you have done for me,” he said softly. “I have been a pain for a while, but you have always been there to take care of me. I didn’t really know how to thank you, but this seemed like a good start. I also wanted to tell you something else too.”

“You can tell me anything George,” you assured him.

George took a deep breath, his nerves becoming clear on his face.

“I like you,” he whispered, scared of what you were going to say. “And I wanted to know if you wanted to go out for dinner with me?”

A grin curled onto your lips as you jumped up onto your feet.

“I would love to.”

“What?”

He was shocked to have a positive response from him asking you out on a date.

“I would love to go out for dinner with you. I’ve liked you for quite a while, so I am beyond happy to go on a date with you.”

For the first time in a long while, you were both happy and at peace with where you stood, glad to be able to tell each other how you truly felt.

Whumptober Day #1- A little out of the ordinary

“Are you sure this is a good idea? Isn’t the cameras… a little too much?” Chase has grabbed his arm and rubbed it up and down, as if the motion would get rid of the nervousness clawing in his stomach.

“These are no ordinary cameras, Chase. These are meant to protect us.” Henrik repeats. It was the same response when it came to the new cameras. It was until a few days Chase had found out about this group called IRIS, no thanks to Marvin blurting it out. And to find Henrik also worked for them as a side job? The father was starting to think they didn’t meet by some kind of coincidence. “There we go…”

Henrik steps down the ladder, his icy blues admiring his work with pride. Though, it couldn’t be the same for Chase. That uneasy feeling kept growing the more he looked at those cameras. Even more so when they came to life, scanning the room and it’s surroundings. The red lens looking like a big red eye staring down at them.

Watching their every move.

“It gives me the creeps…” Chase admits, his eyes averting from the camera now hanging out at the corner of the recording room.

“I understand your concerns, Chase, but these are a must in the house. Jackie and myself are not always at arms reach. Neither is Marvin. The WTCHR will help keeping an eye for that… thing. We do not know, nor we cannot see it, but I trust this invention will help lessen the weight off of Marvin and Jackieboy’s shoulders, yes?”

“I suppose so…” Is the only thing Chase said. He had no reason to doubt Henrik. He always knew what he was doing, and if it helped capturing whatever thing was trying to possess them…

….

Help… Me…

Static filled his head, that oh so familiar buzz that was so quick to send him off his mind. He couldn’t feel his own limbs. He couldn’t see, and yet the screen was so clear in his field of vision. The recording room was tinted in bloody red, not because of the the strings of blood pouring down his eyes, but because that cursed camera had been sending an alert to whoever would receive it that Chase was in distress.

The father took loud gasps of air, as if he was being pulled under a massive wave and he couldn’t get enough oxygen into his lungs. Bloodshot eyes moved towards the red eye standing tall on that corner, the father begging for help as it gazed down at him. No… something was wrong, it almost seemed like the camera itself was spectating him struggle. As if it was alive… come to think of it…

Was it even sending a signal that Chase needed help?

Before he knew it, his chair began to slowly turn back towards the computer, and only then Chase knew he wasn’t alone in the room.
