Today was a half day though for the life of me I do not know why. I had the sudden whim, thinking back to how one of my previous co-workers was probably the only person that didn't treat me like some kind of genetic freak.
There are several teachers there that you can tell were former student athletes and now all of their kids are athletes as well and they see anything less than 100% physical perfection to be nauseating.
Anyway without giving it too much thought popped into the teacher's classroom and ask her if she wanted to go to lunch later. She said she already had plans with the math teacher and they've been best friends forever so that wasn't a big deal. But she told me they'd be happy to have me along and they would let me know where they were going as soon as school was out.
Needless to say they did not period and I sat around for about 10 minutes checking my phone every 30 seconds and listening in the hallway to see if they were going to come by and let me know where they were going period but of course they didn't Furious And I hate that I expected anything else I hate that my feelings are hurt and I really hate that I took the chance of asking period
And just reinforces my belief that I have no friends there I just have people that tolerate me on different levels.
Like there is one teacher that is always talking about what a Christian she is. All the time and she's always super happy but she's on really really good meds so that I wish I could get a hold of. So anyway I never liked Mike Pence at all until I read his book and his book was so good it really changed my idea about him I figured she's always going on spouting about Christianity she might want to read the book. So I got it for her for Christmas and when I gave it to her she acted like I had just sprouted three heads.
I might as well have given her a book on Kama Sutra.
So here I am at Sonic eating tater tots and listening to Lana Del Rey alone because I wasted so much time waiting for people that didn't show up that I don't have time to get a regular meal before going back to work. And I'm promising myself I am never asking anybody out to lunch ever again. It's not like this is something I do all the time anyway.
I'm so glad me and my husband reconciled years ago. Because if I didn't have someone to come home to I would be losing my mind with loneliness.
