Today marks four years since the release of ONWARD, a wonderful Pixar film.

I discovered the film two years ago, and from the first time I saw it to this day, it continues to excite me. ONWARD, for me, is a work of art and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's one of my favorite films; emotional, fun, with wonderful effects and designs, and it's message is very profound.

I am so grateful to all the people behind ONWARD for creating it. And also because they gave us one of the BEST characters, Barley. I love that boy with all my heart.

Happy 4th anniversary, ONWARD.

Everything ✨Onward✨ in the 2022 Pixar Character Encyclopedia! 📖

Today, an updated version of the Pixar Character Encyclopedia has been released!

It includes all Pixar films up to Lightyear, which means...yes, Quest Masters!! Onward is featured in this 200-something page book!

I decided to purchase the e-book and see all the pages for myself (cause really, I could not resist!) and six characters from this beautiful, exciting, needs more attention masterpiece make the cut from pages 224 to 229—comprising of Ian, Barley, Laurel, Wilden, Colt, and The Manticore!

But that isn't all the Onward rep that's in this book...

Some thoughts...

After seeing just Ian on the front cover of this book for weeks leading up to its release, I’m delightfully surprised and pleased that they included Barley on the inside front cover! and that both he AND Ian are on the table of contents page! thank you book for recognizing how important these bros are and how important they are to each other by putting them together! 😁

If you look carefully on the name borders of Ian and Barley's character pages, I think Guinevere makes a cameo! I wanna say those are her wheels...

Also LOVE the side borders! That has the concept art of the back cover of the Art of Onward book written all over it!

I really appreciate just how much they emphasize that Ian has discovered he has these strange, new magical powers within himself! Not only because it doesn't just happen to anyone (only those with the magic gift can do it), but because Ian didn't know he had them in the first place! of course this might just be me being bias on my love of the "magic that has been with a person all along is finally awakened" trope lol

also that's Barley's presence makes Ian more confident in himself! honestly SO TRUE!! and lol [his] face resembles his father's, a little on the nose but YES!!!!

I really treasure how they say Barley loves his family more than anything on his page! In fact, they pretty much say it twice! it's that important!

and that he doesn't care what anyone else thinks! Magic is what he believes in even if it seems like a waste of time and nothing worth spending time on to others...it's his belief in magic still existing in their world that saves the fountain from being torn down!

OMG "cast protects mysterious injury..." well, we all know it's from doing something Barley thought was a good idea, but even the book doesn't know what happened...but mysterious?...as in mysterious circumstances, perhaps? something way out of the oridinary? hmm...now that intrigues me... 👀

I love that they highlight Laurel missing having Wilden around, Colt may be her boyfriend, but she still cares for her sons' father!

Man, I didn't think her protein shake would be something I'd magnify on often, but I had no idea until I looked that it was chocolate flavored! guess chocolate can be be green in this world...

Oooooh, Wilden loved thinking about the old days and had a soft spot for adventure! I LOVE THAT A LOT! I don't think that's something that's thought about a lot...

Colt plans on becoming the fastest cop in town! not just fast, but the fastest! That is awesome!

Also interesting to know that he polishes his hooves...

The Manticores's tattoos aren't JUST tattoos! They're tattoos of some of her past adventures! NICE!

Hey Guys! Guess What?

I’ve just been thinking about Loungefly and how that of Onward doesn’t seem to have been made yet. So I took the liberty to dream up some ideas for Onward Loungefly that should come to life one day, probably on the movie’s 5th Anniversary like they did with Inside Out.

This idea sounds real fun on paper, thought I’d share it with you guys. I have some more ideas, so feel free to request.

So my friends and I are crossing Onward and Hazbin Hotel, as you do, and not only did we realize that the Hotel staff can play Quests of Yore, they can also go on actual real life quests with Ian, Barley, Laurel and the Manticore!

Out of the whole staff though, I can see those worthy, or interested, in questing would be Sir Pentious, Cherry Bomb, Niffty and Alastor, but Alastor can summon Husker to join in when they need the extra help

But then I began to ask, is Alastor strong enough to fight the Manticore?

My guess is they would be equally matched, with a few strengths and weaknesses. For example, Alastor would be stronger, but the Manticore would be more experienced. But, thankfully, the Manticore can temporarily paralyze Alastor with her scorpion sting

Alastor: I will devour your soul and broadcast your screams throughout the corners of your realm!

Manticore: (stings Alastor)

Alastor: (loses his demonic form and falls limp onto the ground) oh you bitch

The Manticore continues the quest while carrying Alastor over her shoulder, which is just enough to humiliate him until he gets his strength back 🤣

Thoughts I Have After Seeing Elemental For the First Time 😈🥬

That being said, let’s dive in!

🔥 Not only are her parents immigrants but they speak a made up language called Firish. As an Irish American person, I thought that was cute!

💧 The Manticore from Onward is no longer the most relatable character to service workers. That honor goes to Ember now.

🔥 Yes, customers are really this stupid and entitled. The sparkler buy one get one free scene is a gold star example of that.

💧 Wade Ripple is who more men should be like; sweet, sensitive, loving, devoted, and charming but also awkward in an adorable way.

🔥 I never laughed so hard at the death of a grandmother ever. That was definitely not written to be sad at all.

💧 Wade isn’t afraid to say how he feels about Ember in front of his entire family and that’s very ballsy but way too fast.

🔥 Their date was so precious and the song in that scene is repeating on Spotify right now.

💧 I love that they eat wood chips and drink lava coffee.

🔥 Those flowers are absolutely stunning. And so is Embers glasswork.

💧 The antics between Cinder and the Door Man were wonderful. The Door Man also looks like the most huggable water guy.

🔥 I went awwwww in my head when their hands touched for the first time. It was such a sweet moment and I didn’t like that things went south after that.

💧 Would they be able to have sex? Because from the beginning of the film, we know element women can physically get pregnant. So a water penis in a fire vagina does what? Would she evaporate it away?

🔥 The kiss they shared near the end if the film was so sweet. Honestly one of the best kissing scenes written by Pixar tbh, with apologies to Linguini and Collette.

💧 Do male earth elements grow floral pubic hair like their armpit hairs? Imagine having flowers for pubes.

🔥 What’s the wedding gonna be like? Because I bet Ember would walk down the aisle in a stained glass gown.

💧 Ember loves her father but was trying too hard to make him proud. It was unfair for him to never ask her what she wanted out of life.
