What do you use for the undertale-style narration? I’m looking to start an askblog myself, and I don’t know where to start.

I have a homemade template that I put together in paint dot net.

I have a file like this for all the characters I ever do consistent asks with. I don't do premade expressions myself, I usually draw the face as I think appropriate (hence why, while some expressions are repeated, they're ever-so-slightly different), but I do have separate layers for things like hands. Shandit can attest to it being a bit of a mess for all characters. But I manage.

A good half of his laziness issues comes from the fact that his body itself conditioned him into constantly being tired, and work being so difficult for him to accomplish in a way that's comfortable, so he just. Doesn't. Which isn't a good way to manage pots in actuality but the other half of his laziness issues is just that he's lazy. So. He doesn't bother doing any of the stuff that actually WOULD help.

Constant fatigue from POTS paired with insomnia and also probably depression and definitely anxiety means that he kind of just got hit with the fuckin. Quadruple whammy beam. But he's also Drayton so he'll never mention it.

After I told a non-hsr moot about him, (and accidentally turned them into an Aventio shipper whoops) we deemed him the "gay ass gambler" and "peacockesque gambling fruit loop" among others.

I was explaining to my moot about Aventurine practically rizzing every man he saw on Penacony at this point (the scenes from the story quest with Sunday and Ratio, and those cutscenes if you Trailblaze as Caelus) and they said that he is "collecting men like pokemon". Now the urge to make that one of Aven's recurring tags is too strong. Oh no.

Orre doesn't have heroes. That's what everyone said. It's a lawless region where everyone fends for themselves. The water and good resources are hoarded by the Elite in Phenac City, leaving the rest begging for scraps.

No, Orre didn't have heroes. Well, maybe that wasn't entirely true. She called herself Mare. Nobody knew where she came from, she had just fallen from the sky one day with no memory. After fighting off a few thugs who had thought she was a corpse and intended to loot her body, she stumbled her way into Pyrite Town where she quickly became the talk of the town for beating up a couple of Snagem Grunts.

Since it was the first place she had come to and there wasn't much else out there besides desert, Mare made Pyrite Town her new home and named herself its protector. A lot of the locals had objections to this. She was some random outsider. A complete stranger. What business did she have getting involved in their affairs. But a lot of them changed their tune when Mare proved herself by preforming a daring one woman raid on the Snagem hideout, rescuing dozens of Pokemon and possibly, maybe, accidentally blowing it up a little.

Additionally, she had an unusual ability. Purifying a Shadow Pokemon was a long and arduous process that could take months or even years. But Mare was able to do it in a matter of days. She was able to connect with Pokemon on a deeper and more fundamental level than anybody else there.

Cipher, of course, wasn't particularly pleased by this development and were forced to move up development of Project XD in order to combat her and restore their stranglehold on the Region. So she kicked their asses too.

With Mare around, quality of life in Pyrite Town improved immensely. It wasn't perfect, it never would be, but it was a lot better than what it was. It felt like they were actually living rather than just surviving. What's more, Mare just had this infectious positivity about her, giving a sense of hope that many in the town hadn't felt in a long time, if ever. Plus, she loved a good brawl, as any good Pyrite Town Citizen does.

No, Orre doesn't have heroes. But it does have Mare. And its a good thing cause a new threat is looming on the horizon: Leviathan, the Thousand Year Gyarados and President of Orre (she ate the last president), the very reason Orre is in this state, is coming to finish what she started.

That's a good question!

I somewhat explored this idea before with the whole "Normal-guy-Proton" mixup thing, but I never really went in-depth about it.

It's a hard question, because the answer is a solid it-depends.

A simple answer is, probably something to do with either cooking or engineering. I ramble for quite a bit under the cut about the specifics of his potential "Non-rocket" paths, however!

Proton was, in a way, forced into Rocket. He had a violent father as a young kid, and took odd-jobs from Rocket to have enough money to feed himself. Eventually, his father got much more physically violent, which ended up with Proton killing the man.

In short, he panicked. He had nowhere to go, other than the gang. He wouldn't be persecuted there, so that's where he went.

What he would do as a job, if it weren't for that really depends on what happens after he kills his father, or if we're going with a sort of AU where he isn't pushed to do that, whether because he managed to leave with his mother before the abuse becomes really bad (Normal-Guy-Proton), or because someone else notices the situation and calls the Pokemon equivalent of CPS.

Let's say that he does still kill is father, but instead of running to Rocket, he calls the police and confesses. He's sixteen at the time.

What happens next depends on what exactly he's charged with, and whether or not he's prosecuted as an adult. If the court agrees that it's self-defense, then Proton presumably gets sent somewhere better equipped to take care of him, which at this point is practically anywhere. This is the best case scenario. He gets to actually acquire life skills he wouldn't have a chance too otherwise.

If he's charged with murder, it would probably be second-degree. The killing wasn't premeditated, and it could certainly be argued that his intent wasn't to actually kill his father. In this case, I presume he would either be prosecuted as an adult, and sent to jail, or sent to a juvenile center. In this case, once he gets out, he probably struggles a bit, again, because of the lack of life skills. Not only that, but a criminal record would make it hard for him to find a job. In this scenario, he would probably end up falling in with Rocket anyways.

Now, if he doesn't kill his father, his prospects are far better.

What I affectionately call Normal-Guy-Proton is the scenario where his mother leaves his father, taking baby Proton with. She returns to her family, or otherwise finds a way to provide for herself and her child that isn't an abusive, alcoholic man, and Proton ends up with a fairly normal childhood. He goes to school, gets a job, and all of that. This is the one where I think he'd get a job in engineering. He enjoys tinkering with things, and he'd actually be able to pursue that. This is the overall best case scenario, and one I explored a bit for one of the Muse Mixup things that happened.

The other situation is where someone else actually decides to do something, and Proton is removed from his father. Again, this could go either way, depending on whether or not he's screwed by the system, but I'm going to go ahead and say that he manages to come out of it without much trouble. He's still troubled, but it's not quite as bad as the "I just killed my own father oh shit" trauma. This is where I think he'd go more into cooking, as he would still have some of the childhood experiences of having to fend for himself, making use of whatever he can have to eat.

New to this blog, so sorry if I’m missing a few points, but I was wondering if Core is able to enter the current Dreamtale, considering the state it’s in, would they be affected by the mass negative energy? If they can enter, do they just choose not to BECAUSE they can be affected?

What’s the take on letting survivors from Dreamtale that have been affected by the negativity like those wandering husks into the OT?

In general, for timelines that have survivors but they have some sort of deadly virus like infection that has something to do with their universe, would they be allowed in?

So for the first point, I don't think Core is affected by it. On account of the whole being omnipresent, I don't think they could be conceibably affected by the overwhelming negative energy. Like how core used to be scared of guns when they were alive, but they became desensitized when Omnipresent. Maybe if the negativity affected all of the multiverse, it'd do something.

On the matter of the husks, I consulted with my resident Dreamtale expert, and since the husks aren't capable of thought, it's probably a fool's errand to try and save them. Maybe Core would give it a shot, probably not- I don't know enough.

As for that last question, they'd probably try to accomodate them as much as possible. Like, maybe give them some magic shielding so they won't affect anyone, or just remove their infection outright (after all, there are some of the brightest minds in the multiverse working in the OT, someone's ought to figure it out).
