i didn't watch the ML awakening movie, but wasn't Marinette irrelevant to the climax there but most ppl don't have a problem with it? Like she was there but the entire resolution was solely on Gabriel and Adrien so if she just didn't join the fight and let Hawk Moth beat up CN from the start, then he'd find out tht CN was Adrien and boom - conflict resolved?

I actually just recently subjected myself to the movie...full disclosure I did not enjoy it.

And one of the things that bothered me the most was how distant Marinette was from the main villain of the movie. I know it's a movie so we won't get the same build-up, etc. but the movie does rely too heavily on the viewer to already understand the show's characters and their dynamics.

Without that context, those dynamics are severely lacking in the movie. So that's why we get Marinette literally just sitting on the sidelines while Gabriel comes to his own conclusions on his own while holding Adrien in his arms. And then we move on.

I'm glad some people found satisfaction in that reveal but not me (in terms of the movie)

Oh god, even their bloody voice was enough to send shivers down their spine. Their cocky grin which played on the corner of their mouth.

Villain tried to ignore the shake in their voice as they felt tears threaten to fall, "I- I thought you- you were out of t-town..."

Hero chuckled, "Oh, I was, I only returned late last night." Hero took a step closer to Villain, smirking as they watched the other take another step away from them, "And how did you know that, sweetheart?" They tilted their head playfully, "Has someone been stalking me in the newspapers?"

Villain's face went red, their eyes wide, "WH-WHAT?!? NO- NO I-" "Shhhhh, keep your voice down, sweetie, don't want to wake up the city I'm protecting, hm?"

Villain cursed at themself. They were practically like putty in their hands. One stupid little pet name and they've let down their walls.

"What happened to our normal fights?" Villain grumbled, "Ones where we didn't have to... you know... interact before." Hero laughed again, advancing towards the other until Villain had backed themself against the wall. Hero place a hand either side of Villain's head, completely boxing them in, making them gulp.

"What's the matter, dear, why so tense?"

Villain let out a frustrated growl, "Just fuck off and leave me alone."

"Admit it."

Villain looked up at Hero, eyebrows furrowed while they could practically hear their heartbeat thumping in their ears.

"Admit that you like me."
