It’s weird how fans of the character feel that canon Sansa quotes from the books is anti Sansa.  Meanwhile Arya and Jon stans have to deal with murder baby Arya and incompetent Jon or unrelated quotes randomly put together to rewrite relationships. Maybe that's why the Arya and Jon tags are so full of headcanon Sansa that most of the time feels like an unrecognizable OC.

And then in the comments there is someone who has ‘not read the books in years’ telling me that I lack reading comprehension  😂

And this is while there is so much racist Arya fanart from Sansa stans on the Arya Stark tag despite repeated requests from poc to stop doing this.

It's honestly so depressing to go on the Arya Stark tag and see fanart on the tag or sidebars - because racist art is so popular in fandom!! - where canonically white Arya is differentiated from her more classically beautiful sister by simply drawing her in darker skin tones. At this point it's clear that artists are aware of the racist implications of doing this and still continue to do this because they don't care.

And yet using a Sansa book quote is supposedly 'anti Sansa' and needs to be tagged as such. I guess the tags should only be used for headcanons of racist caricatures of ‘ugly’ Arya and beautiful blue eyed, whitey white Sansa being the best sisters ever and nothing else.

I think the problem for many Sansa stans is that they stay in their echo chambers with their made up headcanons so that when they do venture outside that chamber to posts by other readers on the tag using the books, they are shocked and think there is some sort of unfair crusade going on against their fave.

I am not saying staying within fandom spaces is totally wrong btw. We all curate our fandom experiences on Tumblr. This app in particular allows us to block out ships or opinions we don’t particularly like. I am sure my group of mutuals and fans, including me, who reblog and follow posts have a similar kind of groupthink.

However, what’s fascinating with Sansa stans in particular is that Sansa is so much of a self-insert at this point that 90% of the character is headcanons. Her most popular ships are crackships, her relationships with her siblings has been re-written, she is now the underdog and outcast etc.

This has happened to me so many times -  I make a post, a Sansa stan responds saying I am wrong, I don’t know how to read, I am a hater etc., I respond with book quotes and ask them to read the books, I am called uncivil and then immediately blocked (they just have to get that last word in!) Rinse and repeat.

Take the post that got me the above message for example.

“I’m not like Arya,” Sansa blurted. “She has the traitor’s blood, not me.”   - Sansa, AGoT

This is really not what happens in that chapter at all. Sansa does not really think of Arya, admits to forgetting about her at the end and it’s only in the next chapter she thinks that Arya may have gotten away on the galley Ned had arranged for them (Which does not happen thanks to Sansa’s tattling of Ned’s plans and Cersei placing Lannister guards on the galley).

At this point Arya is still trapped in KL trying to get out and it’s only been 3 days since Ned has been arrested. However, as per this person, Sansa is begging them not to torture and kill her and therefore names Arya, who she thinks is already safe in Winterfell, 3 days after the Starks and their men are taken down....

In the OP, I have used the most basic quotes, but in the actual chapter it’s far worse. Sansa is actually still dreaming of marrying beautiful prince Joffrey when she is taken to meet Cersei:

That night Sansa dreamt of Joffrey on the throne, with herself seated beside him in a gown of woven gold. She had a crown on her head, and everyone she had ever known came before her, to bend the knee and say their courtesies.

“Sweet Sansa,” Queen Cersei said, laying a soft hand on her wrist. “Such a beautiful child. I do hope you know how much Joffrey and I love you.”

“You do?” Sansa said, breathless. Littlefinger was forgotten. Her prince loved her. Nothing else mattered. (---)

“She is a sweet thing now, but in ten years, who can say what treasons she may hatch?”

“No,” Sansa said, horrified. “I’m not, I’d never … I wouldn’t betray Joffrey, I love him, I swear it, I do.” (---)

“And yet, I fear that Lord Varys and the Grand Maester have the right of it. The blood will tell. I have only to remember how your sister set her wolf on my son.”

“I’m not like Arya,” Sansa blurted. “She has the traitor’s blood, not me. I’m good, ask Septa Mordane, she’ll tell you, I only want to be Joffrey’s loyal and loving wife.” - Sansa, AGoT

And then at the very end of the chapter:

It was not until later that night, as she was drifting off to sleep, that Sansa realized she had forgotten to ask about her sister. - Sansa, AGoT

So yes, Sansa is scared of not being able to marry Joffrey anymore, frightened of being accused as a traitor like her father and therefore throws out Arya’s name as the traitor - when as far as she knows Arya is in KL and Lannisters could have Arya, the same as her.

Next,

This is the funniest part! - ‘I haven’t read these books in a few years, however, it’s you who is very much lacking reading comprehension’ 😂😂😂

Make it make sense please. And then we are back to the usual Sansa is just a child, she’s 11 goddammit! She’s a teeny tiny baby! It’s totally justified for her to throw her even younger 9 year little sister under the bus as a traitor to be tortured or killed by the likes of Joffrey and Cersei instead of her.

And then finally, the predictable conclusion:

Because of course made up headcanons are ‘alternative interpretations’ and if we point out it’s fanfiction then we are being uncivil.

I can only say that I am glad that my side of the fandom don’t engage in this much fanfiction, projections and headcanons. It’s frustrating as a book fan to be told that I lack reading comprehension because I don’t accept their ‘alternative interpretations’ of how Sansa thinks Arya is safe in Winterfell three days after the Lannisters massacred all the Stark men and imprisoned Ned stark. And while Arya herself is still stuck inside KL unable to leave.

At this point I really do think there is no point in engaging with these stans because they are not doing this in good faith. Just block rather than waste time discussing. They seem to think that we need to accept their headcanons as book canon and if we don’t then we are simply anti Sansa posting anti Sansa stuff on the tags. It’s certainly a fascinating fandom aspect of a self insert fan favorite. It’s the reason she wins polls above more complex and well written characters in the books, the popular version of her is entirely about what fans project onto the character rather then actual written version in the books.

if im indifferent to dsmp, does that make me a "fan" of it? i don't love it the way actual fans do (they actually know the whole lore and stuff beyond what i know.) but whenever i see "dsmp fans/stans dni!!" i hesitate. mostly because i know the blog will shit on dsmp and the story/the content creators. and yes, criticism isn't a bad thing, but i've seen people say some information about dsmp is incorrect and that it isn't as much of a hellhole as people say it is.

hmm my experience with this might be a bit different from you because i Am a dsmp fan (as in enjoyer of lore and the ccs on that server, etc), but it's honestly up to you in the end. i personally don't mind it if a blog doesn't necessarily enjoy a certain cc or a cc group, but excessive neg or crit, even when it's tagged, tends to have me hit the unfollow button.

logically i know that not everyone in mcytblr will like or care about, for example, the dream team, and that's fine! but if i begin to see posts and posts about how much op hates them then it's like. i don't want to engage in a blog who would rather spend time express their contempt for something rather than talk about something that genuinely interests them. like yeah bitching can be fun! do what you want on your blog! peace and love but i don't want to see it so i'll just quietly not engage, you know?

Yeah that's the thing (or at least one of the things) - very rarely will you catch me legitimately promoting Dream to people who don't like him. I don't expect everyone to like him and in fact I'd be surprised if he didn't have a substantial group against him. I just personally like him and his content. But there's a difference between that and the objective facts of the matter - a lot of racist, homophobic, and misogynistic streamers/ccs/etc hate Dream's fanbase for their hyper-vigilance and general queerness. That's not me saying Dream's a paragon of goodness or that his fans are always fantastic people, it's just an actual, legitimate thing that's happening. You can go look. And denying that doesn't do anything but make you stupid and hurt a lot of young people (and even older members of the community).

So many creators are problematic and a great many beloved names are much worse than Dream both in intent and impact. Remember how #ThankYouScott trended after Scott Cawthon revealed that he's an anti-choice trumpie? Dream's not that kind of person and you can hate him more than anything in the world and still fucking acknowledge the difference. It drives me nuts.

Lmao. I too really don’t get the big hype over OP characters, especially when their powers come from genetic advantages rather than hard-earned work. I think people like Eren, Jean, Sasha, etc. who had no advantages in making it in the Top 10 are much more admirable. Sasha taking out the Panzer Unit with one shot will always be 1000x cooler than Levi spinning in the air and speedily chopping up Titan bodies.

Falco did deserve better than being reduced to a hubby who didn’t even care about his brother’s death, but him/Gabi turning into Levi’s caregivers is just hilarious to me. 

It always baffled me how it was okay for people to be RBA stans when we knew they committed genocide early on in the story, but as soon as Eren did something on that scale, liking him meant you’re a horrible person. 

I guess if there’s one thing you can take away from snk, it’s the hypocrisy in this world.

I just read a well written 2006 multi chaptered jackass rpf fic that was all about ops mundane, miserable fantasy of Johnny Kn*oxville being a cheating top. Rpf assumes you, too, have celebrity fantasies and aus and that dropping you into this altered reality is somewhat familiar. But I don't, whatever assumptions I have on celebs are fraught parasocial jokes, horny fantasies, weird things that happen in dreams, “informed” gossip, mood boards for characters etc. I think I can stomach rpf without being grossed out because I read blinds, don't stan, I'm a gossipy asshole and I watch reality tv. These fics read so much like original content, this in particular seemed interested in b list slutty depressed violent celebs circa 2005 and it successfully captures that sleaze. OP could have created something similar inspired by jackass, but didn't, in spite of the fic literallyyy being 'inspired by' ocs with an upsetting unsexy plot.

I have the gnf bias because I am a george stan through and through, but I have a point I'd like to make..... if george like trained, I def think he could be the best hunter. remember that one time that dream said that if george actually cared he could easily be a top MCC player? there has also been a lot of moments, like how op he is with a bow, that super mlg clutch he did the 1.17 snapshot stream, and all the times he beat dream in the early manhunts. obviously, dream is like a god at Minecraft, he has spent hours training so he is going to be a lot better than most of the hunters. also I think that due to the fact the george knows dream very well, and most likely knows how he plays as a minecraft player, he could for sure use that to his advantage(like that time he knew that george was lying when he said he was in the nether). even though george is not the best hunter, I think with more training and stuff he could be really good. sapnap Is probably the bets hunter, his aggressiveness + pvp skills is what makes him good but is also something that can hold him back, sometimes. I think george tends not to go in too headstrong, and a few times I have seen him outsmart dream, in a way(for example in the hitman video where he hides and ends up killing dream's horse, with his op bow skills might I add).

those are my thoughts. obviously I have george glasses on but I do think sapnap is the best hunter at the moment, he actually did really good in the most recent one! :)

george has a lot of potential to be a very good hunter and we all know that he has minecraft skills like crazy! like you mentioned, he has previously done really well in mcc, ended up in the top 10 players, etc., he just doesn’t try his absolute best all the time. if he trained as vigorously as dream does for parkour, pvp, etc., he would be op as fuck. most of his mc content is chill challenges or just fucking around with his friends so he doesn’t get much intense mc skill training, i guess you could say. (for lack of a better term ahsfda). 

george is also not super aggressive when it comes to being a hunter, like sapnap is. when george finds dream in a manhunt he usually just starts yelling “i found him, he’s here, dreams here!” and waits for backup before advancing on him. as for sapnap, he will see dream and will immediately jump on him, getting hits in, lowering his health, etc., while waiting for the other hunters to catch up. so, even if sapnap does die in those situations, he managed to lower dreams health and now the other hunters are close behind and ready to finish it. this strat could go both very well or very bad depending on the exact situation, and it has gone both ways in the past. 

that being said, i think george has a better shot at outsmarting dream, like you said, as opposed to straight up pvp. their close friendship and ability to tell when they’re lying does affect that a little bit, but george is very smart and i think he could really pull it off well if he had a plan in place or practiced prior to the manhunts. he could easily weigh out the options and anticipate what dream would do in each scenario given that they know each other so well and have a idea of each others minecraft abilities. 

i think we’re all wearing george glasses 90% of the time agfasdhas so im right there with you :))

-this would cause more exposure for the manga too because 1. the old anime-onlys would come back, 2. everyone already in the manga fandom will be revived for any kind of content, 3. the fans who’ve dropped off will probably watch it, 4. new fans who liked WIT studio shit will be like :eyes emoji:, fans who looked at the trailer and went that sounds kinda gay will watch it, actual shonen fans and people who like high school anime and liked the vampire reign school arc would watch it, like it would have a pretty good base

-ok but like the problem is there’s a different beginning in the manga and the light novels of ca16. And like, the manga’s beginning would be a really bad thing to go with. In the light novel, the book starts right off with Guren going into first shibuya high school with sayuri and shigure, explaining the situation with the ichinoses and the hiragis. That’s a good beginning, it gives a good idea of what the story’s gonna be like, it doesn’t give away what’s going to happen. Whereas in the manga, they decided to shoot in before that a bullshit chapter that’s straight out of fucking tokyo babylon. I don’t even,,, it was really bad, and it doesn’t even seem to be canon. There’s no indication that’s anything but like crossover fanfic because the gist of that chapter was Guren, Sayuri, and Shigure like,,, exorcising a bitch which is like so not the vibe of this story. It makes no sense?? That’s not even what Guren did in middle school? What???? There’s also a bunch of really offputting shit in there, if you’ve ever seen it. That’s gonna get rid of so many potential fans. It’s a really bad idea. Also at the end it literally gives away the fact that Guren’s gonna end the world which is just. shit. it’s shit. Like everyone’s gonna know anyway just don’t give it away in canon!!! It was a bad idea in the manga and it would be a terrible decision to do in a potential anime.

-what would it even be rated omg like it’s. So much hornier than vampire reign so like I don’t even fucking know like, there is sex,,, with fucking m a h i r u, i don’t like that, and i mean other than that every other word out of someone’s mouth is wanna fuck like that’s fine in a light novel but on screen uh

I got to talk with Eden Espinosa!!! 😍😍😍

Calling all Cass stans like myself who have found themselves completely enamored with Cass’ voice actress, Eden Espinosa!

I had the complete honor and privilege to talk with her during a virtual meet and greet as an early Christmas present from my mom (my Momma’s the best ya’ll, I love her so much cause she gets me). Anyways, there’s so much we talked about and I just fangirled the entire time. Here are some things I learned that might be of interest:

Eden did not consciously reference Taylor Swift’s Reputation album while creating her own Revelation album (I had to ask because there are so many similarities, some of which involve the titles, the black-and-white cover art, and the “strong woman vibes” I get from both albums)

Eden has always enjoyed doing things by herself (we both relate to being introverts and needing alone time while still caring about family and friends)

she became a fan of Taylor’s music by going to a concert during the Red era as a way of supporting her friends Kamilah and Melanie (they can be seen in the Reputation tour film that came out on Netflix a couple years back). She said she fell in love with the songs, production, etc. and just really appreciates Taylor’s artistry. Also, she listened to the Red album for like a whole month afterwards, which I thought was amazing 🥰 She mentioned feeling like Taylor doesn’t get enough credit for the incredible businesswoman she is, and I wholeheartedly agreed

Reputation is her favorite Taylor Swift album, although she seems to love all of them as much as I do

Eden was just as surprised about folklore and evermore being dropped this year (I mentioned how I absolutely loved folklore and that I’ve listened to evermore and want to like it, but I don’t feel ready to move into that era quite yet. Eden was such a sweetheart and reminded me that the album will still be there when I’m ready for it (😉) and to take my time)

she has a stuffed animal pal named Frankie who has helped her through some hard times (her living dog Owen died in the past year or so, so that broke my heart 😔)

So basically a lot of it was me stanning Taylor and Eden while somehow simultaneously fangirling over both 😂😂 I still can’t believe all this really happened. Somehow pinch me because I’m in shock 🥰🥰😁🤩🤩
