In my meandering internet wandering, I came across this site which offers free 35mm Polish films, documentaries and animations. The site hosts about 4000 fully digitalized and restored movies for viewing (although, as I have discovered, some films require you to create an account and log in to watch). If you want some additional info I found this (there’s not much there but it’s something). Addendum: Some further digging brought forth a list of films on 35mm that someone compiled over at Letterboxd that might be useful if you decide to delve into the world of Polish cinema and a post on 35mm from Open Culture that’s more thorough than the post I offered above. Worth a read.

The Arts: Painting
Digital painting and compositing
This is my contemporary digital remix of Alphonse Mucha’s La Peinture.
It was a lot of work to clean up the original digitization! Fixing muddled colors, digital noise, etc., and that was all before I extracted the figure and added my own elements to the composition.
I adore Mucha’s work, so it was definitely a labor of love. I submitted this piece to Creative Commons’ Open Culture Remix Contest, and I won 4th place! From my entry description:
Creative Commons is integral to my approach to art, being both an enthusiastic user and creator of works licensed under Creative Commons. This work—a contemporary digital remix of Alphonse Mucha's "La Peinture"—expresses my love for the creative potential that's unleashed when art, culture, and media are shared freely and openly.
As Mucha’s work is in the public domain, and per the requirements of the contest rules (which stipulated that submitted work must be CC-BY or CC0), I released this remix into the public domain via CC0. So you, dear reader, have free rein to do whatever you wish with this image. It’s my gift to you and to open culture.
Included are the links to the announcement of the contest winners and to the page where you can download the full-scale image.

st patrick’s day easily the funniest american holiday. nothing makes me more patriotic than watching everyone collectively pretend to be from somewhere else as an excuse to get trashed in the street and wear lots of green. ideal

ngl I'm not a fan of how the very necessary discussion of how autistic girls (and many poc for that matter, not that we usually remember this) often end up masking hard due to the pressure to "be ladylike" or "not be too angry" and therefore end up being seen as "very polite" and "mature for your age" and so on and so forth is morphing into being less about how social pressures may impact how autism presents and more about saying "so there's Girl Autism and there's Boy Autism and Girl Autism makes you nice and polite and pleasant but Boy Autism makes you gross and annoying and rude and offputting and no it's not ableist at all to say that being overly excitable or trying to get a turn to talk when you don't know when your turn is or struggling with arbitrary rules is rude and annoying because Girl Autism exists uwu"
