Also, I am watching Good Night Oppy (the documentary about the mission of the Mars rover Opportunity) because apparently I want to Cry. And aside from the NASA crew who worked on the project all lovingly referring to Opportunity and its sister Spirit as "she" and talking about how much the whole project meant to them, the lead engineer on the Spirit program, when talking about the end of Spirit's mission, just gently goes "I guess she was tired too, after all the work she had done" and just. Fun Fact! Depending on the way certain scientific instruments moved they produced buzzing in different pitches and frequencies. Scientist on the Rover Project figured out what order the instruments would have to be maneuvered in order to Sing happy birthday.

The Opportunity Rover sang Happy Birthday to itself every year on April 5th because we didn't want it to feel so alone up there.
