have become really obsessed recently with the fact that house md takes place in new jersey. because obviously the show itself doesnt make much reference to the larger city that surrounds it, PPTH (more commonly known as malpractice general) is only in princeton because its a relatively big city that doesnt have any widely-known stereotypes associated with it. primarily, house is a medical drama that needs to be situated somewhere that it makes logical sense for a vast variety of interesting cases to take place.

but dear god they’re in JERSEY. the opportunities that were lost. a patient comes in with delusions that the jersey devil is haunting them. a street performer at the shore suddenly loses use of his arms and nobody can explain why. a woman that is obviously supposed to be Snookie but they couldnt actually get the real snookie so its just some actress who kind of looks like her is the patient of the week. some guy comes in with a really stereotypical jersey accent and it turns out to be a symptom of a neurological problem (he’s from maine, has only lived in jersey for 6 months. the problem is like. some sort of bacteria that exists only in maine. or something. idfk)

Things I'd do if I'd written GX:

-Let Asuka duel and rescue Nightshroud!Fubuki as the natural extension of her plot surrounding his disappearance. Likewise, let Asuka recognize Fubuki mid duel.

-Let Fubuki recover from Nightshroud possession sooner than he did so he can get in on the action sooner than the end of season 1.

-Let Fubuki get some onscreen wins in general: (good opportunity in S2: when Society of Light!Manjoume took a good chunk of Blue and Fubuki was one of the few to escape conversion, let him duel his way out to establish his skill better.)

-Let Fubuki duel and rescue Society of Light!Asuka as a reversal of her rescuing him.

-Let Fubuki actually show up at all in the first half of season 3/establish him as part of the protag group fighting to go back to the main dimension. (Let him get some wins against the Duel Ghouls/participate in the plot? Where was he in the first half of S3?)

-At least he has some plot relevance in season 4 and gets to duel Nightshroud!Fujiwara, but uh. Let him do a bit more in relation to Fujiwara and Nightshroud coming back before they do return? That's the conclusion to his plot, let the guy have a bit more active involvement. (Also let him have some more interaction with Kaiser in S4, but that's just me being an idolshipper lol.)

me clicking on it and seeing, as i knew it would be, because every job in my industry is, that it's in fucking london, and "remote" actually means "you have to come into the office in central london at least two days a week even though literally every part of this job could be done from home, making it completely inaccessible unless you want to uproot your whole life, move halfway across the country and live in a shoe cupboard*:
