My theory: I don't think we're going to see the Collector betray Belos the next episode. I think those lines that King heard were important, but they weren't meant to indicate that the Collector's about to do a 180. It was just meant to show that they're getting more than a little antsy. When they're with Belos all we see is an impatient whiny child, but in their head we see it's more than that: their impatience is starting to bloom into frustration and insecurity, and probably has been for a while. The first thing we hear them say is "He's my friend, right? He wouldn't lie to me." Those are not the words of someone who is confident in their relationship with someone. But, they're also not the words of someone who's going to turn their back on that person right that second. I believe the last line, "I want to play a new game," was intended to show his quickly growing frustration with the situation. Belos may just see them as a petulant child, but they are quickly losing their patience with him and his "games". The only reason they're still sticking around is because they don't really have any other options, and they aren't ready to confront the fact that their "friend" might be lying to them. When Belos betrays the Collector, which he most certainly will, I have a feeling the aftermath won't be pretty.

too many of you guys think nico is the loser and not lewis for letting the divorce go on for so long. like they're both losers about each other. emotionally constipated idiots who can't talk about their toxic homoerotic friendship that imploded on itself like 8 years ago and are now making it everyone else's problem. yeah nico's on television or in beer gardens talking about lewis all the time but like every other month some reporter is like "lewis, what's your favorite moment in your career?" and lewis no hesitation is like "oh man, karting, y'know? everything was simpler then" and then spends another six months skirting around nico's name. like this whole thing they're doing in the media isn't some kinda extended foreplay for them. they're both still pressing on the bruise to make sure it's still there!!! every few months, they're literally just asking on public television, does it still hurt for you like it does for me? and like clockwork, someone will release new information about them or one of them will say something about each other (in my heart, he's still my best friend/yes... and teammate) and the answer will remain the same, yes, of course, always.

There's something so insane to me about being able to create and recreate vintage or even ancient music, clothes, fabrics, building architecture, anything, really.
I watched this video about a lady who knit a WWII-era vest, and it was really unique, because the cable work would eat up yarn, when there were shortages of fibers. This pattern would have likely been used by people to send overseas to soldiers, and now it's being created in a time where this war has been over for generations. What were the people making this pattern thinking of? What about the people making the vest? Could they fathom a world where world wars didn't happen back to back? Could they imagine what peace felt like, or did it fade like a distant memory, a faint friend? All we have now are the remnants of their efforts, a "simple" vest that would warm the bodies of countless people the knitter would never have imagined were here on earth with them.
We're reaching across time to learn about other people - we're reaching our hands out just to grasp anything tangible. And when we've take hold of something, all we can do is say I love you I love you I love you

question. are the 'lotus eaters' from Jessica laws song Lotus eaters the nymphs? ik that if the song was kept in it would be in place of sirens but idk enough about greek mythology to really pick up on that that implies.
I kinda though so because lotus is frequently referenced as something Orpheus struggles with addiction to, aswell as presumably being big in the nymph scene/Dionysus's clientele, being so focused on pleasure.
(set at a party held by narcissus, Dionysus's most popular nymph)
also this line (government sponsored??? hmmmm)

Trick-or-treat!
Apparently drabble-the-second of moments Sand or Ray visibly considered jumping the other in episode 12.
*
Ray could still feel the denim and leather of Sand's jeans and belt as he pulled him back across the room, off of Top. He could still see the playful, curious look he shot Ray when Mew had announced his dare; could still see the unrepentant grin on Sand's face when he was dragged back.
Ray had many regrets, but the newest on the pile might have been that he hadn't had a great angle to see the kiss itself. He'd just been aware of the pull of Sand's jeans around his thighs as he straddled Top without a moment's hesitation. He'd heard the way Sand's voice lowered in a way Ray was intimately familiar with. He'd seen just the edge of the way Sand's hand found Top's collarbone and shoved. That, too, was a move Ray had been on the receiving end of.
And this was different. This was new. It wasn't Sand being kissed by Boeing in the pool, didn't make something dark and angry uncurl in Ray's gut. This was all laughter, all indulgence, all in that playful look Sand had given him beforehand.
He might have only just begun getting along with Top for Mew's sake, but they were far from being truly friendly. He was still an asshole, but he'd begun to accept they might just have things in common.
That didn't mean it wasn't hot as hell to watch Sand push him around.
Ray took the earliest opportunity to drag Sand through to the kitchen under the guise of getting everyone more drinks.
Sand seemed completely unsurprised, even a little pleased, when instead of looking out new cups, Ray shoved him against the counter island and kissed him until April was apparently nominated to break them up before any kitchen equipment was irreparably defiled.

something’s just not right / there’s hunger in my eyes, but you’re not looking into mine / in the morning light / i wake up next to you, but we’re no longer entwined / i want to love you with a ravenous hunger, tear your flesh into mine / you say you like me, but you’d rather that i listen quiet, keep it all inside / i romanticize a lust for blood and the glint of evil in your eyes / any kind of sign, something to tell me that your heart is burning just like mine / rend me to pieces if that’s what it takes to tell me that i taste divine / there’s something wrong but i just can’t quite place it, leave me on the precipice, i’m fine / something awakening and stirring inside me / i’m gearing up, your pretense in decline / i slice my heart up on a platter and find that you don’t even wanna dine / i gave my soul up, you can eat me raw / diced up and vulnerable, i’m yours to try / you’re glancing to the side, bored, and find that you don’t even wanna dine!!!!

hi marte!
I agrer woth H and l prioritizing their careers for now, but do you think they chose that themselves (because of their shelf life also the reason why they may not want to CO even if they have the possibility to do so) or because they are closeted and cannot come out?
Oh one last question. I don’t k ow if you remember, but back in 2011 L and H were so much more open with the public and fans. They posted cute unseen pics, shared their private life with us, were much more fun and tweeted silly things and now they are only strictly professional to us (like we are just a job, which we are tho lol). They don’t do silly stuff anymore and only tweet when there is something to promote. but do you think it will come back (like in 2011) once they are out? Or is this it??
Hi, anon!
I don't know, but if i had to guess i think they don't have a choice. So they might as well focus on their careers.
Back when they just got together as a band they did a lot of fan service. 1D bascially owe their fame and popularity to social media. It was important to interact with fandom and encourage fans to be engaged. Fans ate it up and 1D got free promo and name recognition out of it, and the fandom grew. After a while the fandom ran things without prompting from the guys. The update accounts took on that role. So there was less need for direct interaction with fandom. After they broke America and when things started to get more serious, there was more at stake and more lies to protect. They were overworked and the fandom took on a life of it's own. There was fandom civil wars and lots of nasty comments. I think they took a step away in order to not put their foot in their mouths (and get cancelled) and not exacerbate tensions within the fandom.
I think the interactions between H and L was curtailed because it lead to too much unwanted speculation about their sexualities and questions around their current fake relationships. When they come out i think we'll get silly and funny interviews and interactions, but i don't think they'll do fan service on social media.
