do you genuinely support seaworld? because if you do, then that is genuinely disapointing to me as i loved your content. dolphins (esp bottlenoses) are incredibly intelligent creatures with their own languages and cultures, can experience emotion in the same ways we do, and display self awareness on nearly the same level as us. there's no situation in which they should be kept in and bred in captivity, and dolphins that cannot live in the wild deserve to go to sanctuaries that are able to provide actual proper living space, respect, and care for them. they are real, living creatures, with their own personalities and identities. they shouldnt be abused and exploited for profit. it's inherently cruel, even if you personally dont view them as their own people as some (like me) do.

I'm sorry that you're disappointed. I thought I had been clear about my opinions on here but yes, I do support SeaWorld, just like I support every other AZA-accredited zoo and aquarium. I support their veterinarians and veterinary staff, people I've actually met or who have worked closely with many of my colleagues and mentors. I support their rescue teams, which have responded to over 40,000 individual marine animals in distress, and are currently one of only half a dozen facilities equipped to handle the Florida manatee unusual mortality event. I support their husbandry and training staff, folks who've made a career out of caring for animals and, like the trainers I currently work with, tirelessly advocating for their needs. I support their contributions to marine research, both through the parks and the independent Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute. I support the connection to the marine world that they provide children (and adults) like myself years ago, gifting them with a lifelong love for the ocean and its life.

At the moment, I'm completing a residential internship program with the medical team at a small marine park (not SeaWorld, but similar in many ways) as a complement to my ongoing education as a DVM student. I see and work with dolphins every day. You’re right, they are extremely intelligent. Each one is an individual, with his or her own distinct personality, likes and dislikes, best friends (human and dolphin), and favorite activities. Perhaps they are “people” in their own way, although from a scientific perspective I can’t anthropomorphize them to that extent. Their trainers are more intimately familiar with the dolphins’ moods and needs than the vast majority of people are with their own pets (speaking as a 7-year veteran of general practice and emergency vet hospitals), and every second of their work day revolves around the animals, be it enrichment, training, husbandry, diet prep, habitat maintenance or, yes, public presentations. Each dolphin has a specialized care plan, made for them by their own full-time veterinarian, to ensure they are always in peak body condition. They receive a full routine medical work-up (complete with bloodwork, fecal, urine, gastric, and chuff cytology) multiple time a year, far beyond what any domestic animal receives. Their diet consists of a wide variety of human-grade seafood, with each individual fish (hundreds of pounds a day) hand-checked by a trainer to ensure it has no defects. They are never, ever forced to participate in a session and usually happily do so, because exercising their minds and bodies is enriching for them. If not, no big deal, they will still get all the food they need.

About half of our dolphins are rescues, deemed non-releasable by the federal government (not the team who rehabbed them, or even the “higher ups” in aquarium/marine park management). These dolphins stranded when they were babies, too young to have learned what they needed from their mothers, or suffering from disabilites or chronic health conditions that would make survival in the wild impossible. Without “captivity,” they would be dead. Instead, I get to see them thrive every day, bonding with their trainers, playing with their dolphin friends, exploring their enrichment, and inspiring everyone who meets them. I’m sorry but no, I will never say these dolphins should be put to death or left to suffer an excrutiating fate in the wild. Not when I’ve seen the life they get to live instead.

An accredited “dolphin sanctaury” like you suggest, run by people with the proper training, resources, and (extensive) funding to care for these complex animals, does not exist. And if one did, it would be no different than any other accredited facility (many of which are “sea pen” habitats, which have their own pros and cons versus a traditional “tank” habitat) that is already open. There would still be training for husbandry, exercise, and enrichment. There would still be hand-fed diets. There would still be (nearly constant!) breeding behavior, just without any babies. And there would still be barriers keeping them from leaving although fun fact, the US Navy uses trained dolphins in open ocean missions and they always return to their human caregivers. The only thing missing would be the educational, inspirational experience aquariums give the public.

But don’t take my word for it. Last year, the Cetacean Welfare Study was published, the result of years of work by 43 different AZA and/or AMMPA-accredited institutes. It’s a collection of studies, the first of their kind, surveying the factors affecting welfare in managed cetaceans (mainly bottlenose dolphins but also Pacific white-sided dolphins and beluga whales), and oftentimes, it’s not what the general public might think. Both SeaWorld and my park were part of it.

i mean i can understand breeding for aesthetic reasons to some extent, for example i think silver tabbies and smoke cats are gorgeous, but i also think that a cool fur pattern or w/e should be secondary to the fact that its your pet. if i had to choose between a plain tabby that i would care for like any other cat (special need cats included) and a high maintence show cat id be treating more like an object, id choose the plain tabby in a heartbeat. the fact that your pet looks cool shouldnt negate the fact that its your pet.

I don’t mind breeding for aesthetics as long as the animal is still healthy and it is an animal that can be sold to good pet homes if the color or pattern is off. It’s just weird to hard cull healthy newborns purely for coloration.

He didn't too much mind having a pet, he already wanted to own a dog, so when you asked if you guys could get a dog, he quickly agreed. It was a cute little Chihuahua, she was the sweetest little devil. She bit a lot, but you both loved her. It was just her for a while, and then you asked for another pet. Your Chihuahua wasn't so hard to deal with, so why not another pet!!

This time, you wanted a cat, she was a beautiful, white Persian one. She was so fluffy and big, Gerard fell in love with her quickly, and they bounded rather fast. She could be seen laying across his shoulders as he walked around the house, she'll sometimes lay on his chest as he napped, and you'll snap a few pictures.

Then, you wanted another pet, but Gerard was a little hesitant this time, the pets you already owned were easy to manage, they weren't hard to deal with and they were rather sweet, but Gerard didn't want you to get overwhelmed from having to take care of too many pets. However, your teary puppy eyes won in the end, and he let you get another cat.

When your fourth and fifth pets came along, they were more rescue pets and not actually bought. Your newest cat was out in the rain, he was wet, cold, hungry and he was terrifyingly thin, so you were able to somehow coax him inside, he was weary of you, a stranger coming to him, in the rain. I'd probably be scared too, but he eventually allowed you to scoop him up and he was a part of your family.

The fifth one was a toad, of all things. It was just sitting outside your front door, but he was caught up in some plastic, so you brought him inside to cut the plastic off, but you noticed that wasn't hopping around, and with closer inspection you could see that the plastic had damaged one of the hit legs, so you kept him, wanting to heal him before you let him go. However you ended up bonding with it, and he became a new member.

Gerard was hesitant to accept the wet cat, worried that he would probably attack your other pets, but he quickly realized that he was too frail and weak to be of any real threat he grew a soft spot for him, and he became Gerard's homeboy. The toad, however, he wasn't feeling it at all. It was gross and slimy and he hated it. He had a hard time taking care of the amphibian but eventually, he grew to just respect it.

Then, a miracle \ surprise happened. Kittens, your cats had kittens. They were tiny and cute, 4 in all. You both looked over at your cats, watching them be parents. Gerard shook his head, he didn't even know that they were getting it on, let alone his sweet baby girl was going behind his back like that. You on the other hand was very happy to be a Cat Grandparent.

Your last two pets, were Toads, just like your first one, they were just chilling outside of your house. The first one was chilling in your garden, it startled you but you quickly invited him inside. The second one was chilling outside your window. She was pretty much minding her own business when you slid open the window and snatched her in. You giddily ran to your aquarium and added her to the family, basically kidnapping her, but she didn't seem to mind too much.

In the end, you had too many pets, and more than enough love to give, Gerard kind of just learned to get used to the animal-filled household, he loved seeing you smile but he hated seeing a new animal, more money from his pocket. But he loved them just as much if not more.

Orihime

She was the one to bring up the question of getting a pet. You were hesitant, looking at your wallet, but she agreed to help in any way possible, so you gave in. She bought a Cat first, he wasn't the best-looking cat. He was frail and skinny, and he looked like he was going to kill over and die. You asked her. "Why this one, Hime?" And she responded with. "Because, he was going to get put down, and he was the cheapest too!!" You shook your head, but you accepted that answer all the same.

The next pet was your idea, seeing as the cat wasn't that expensive or that hard to deal with in general, you decided to get a dog. A cute little Chihuahua, she was a cutie, but she was quick to bite, at least you that is. She loved Orihime, she practically praised the ground that the woman walked on. You, however, she practically begged the devil to take you away. You were sour about that, but you still loved her.

The next pet was a rescue pet, she was a beautiful, white Persian. She was on a fence, scared for her life as large dogs barked up at her, she hissed and meowed in fear, so you saved her. She wasn't too quick to leap into your arms, but she did follow you home, and the moment Orihime saw her, she just had to have her. You almost didn't want the cat, but Persians were hard to come by especially the pretty white ones.

The next few pets were kittens, from your own cats, you glared at them. How dare they have such, such, such romance under your roof, and worst, WITHOUT YOU, KNOWING!!!! You loved romance, and just seeing your cats fall in love would've made a great form of entertainment. But it happened, and they did the deed, and now your both cat grandparents.

The last three were strange, even to Orihime it was strange, but you refuse to abandon them. You were on your way home, walking home from a long day of work. You see a box but thought nothing of it until you hear a croak. You looked at the box with a questionable glance, when you heard the noise again you decided to investigate it, and you were shocked to see three toads in the box.

They were just chillin' in there, all pressed up against a corner minding their own business, the box looked worn and it was wet. You felt sorry for the little guys, so you took them home, plus you always wanted a toad and now you got three. Orihime was a little hesitant to accept them, not because they were slimy and gross looking, but because she was worried about the cats getting to them.

So, together, along with all your friends, you all put your money together and you bought an aquarium for them. They seemed to like their new home, much better than that wet box, and they get fed too!! What more could you ask for? All in all, your home was full of love and you wouldn't have it any other way.

Askin

He couldn't give a rat's ass if you begged, he refused to just get any pet. He didn't want a dog and he didn't want a cat. So for a long time, you had to think of something that he wouldn't mind having, and the answer came to you in the sound of a croak. You looked out your window and you saw a toad. He was just chillin' relaxing in the hot sun by your open window, you're surprised you didn't see him earlier.

Then, the idea came to you. So you ran around your home, looking for a large bucket of some kind. You came across a large Tupperware container. It was long and wide and it was perfect, so you threw some grass in it, lots of dirt, some rocks and some dead leaves, and lastly the toad himself. He didn't seem to like it at first, hopping all over the place trying to break out, and you didn't know what to do, but Askin came to the rescue.

"You need to poke holes in it dummy, and give it a clear lid, not a damn red one." He said as he effortlessly stabbed holes in the lid with his finger. So, on a quick trip to the store and you were able to find an even bigger Tupperware container with a clear lid this time, and in no time at all, he was in his new home and he was much more comfortable.

Your next pet was allowed to be normal since the first one was so random and he was a toad. So your next one was a Chihuahua, Askin immediately hated it, and she hated him back so it was mutual. She always tried to bite when whenever he so much as even walks past her, while he tries to kick her whenever she walks past him, commencing an epic dual between them. You could do nothing but shake your head at the idiots.

Your next pet was a pretty, white Persian cat. She was a beauty and Akin immediately loved her. She became his baby, she would be seen sleeping on his chest or cuddled into his side as they sleep, she would be seen sitting next to him as he cooked in the kitchen or she could be seen laying on his lap as he sat in his chair. They were a match made in heaven. The only downfall is that now all his nightly cuddles went to that damn cat.

Then, the second cat came with a strange friend, he was ruggedly looking, he was bony and frail and he seemed hungry, but he was being accompanied by a toad. They seemed to be friends. The toad hopped at the cat's slow pace as they walked through your garden. You were planting a new flower when you heard a croak, you looked up in a panic, thinking it was your own frog that got loose, but you realized that it was a different one, with a cat.

They were an odd pair, but you grew to like them, they came by every day, wondering through your garden, since you always fed them. They came by so much, til Askin snatched them inside one day, he thought that their friendship was strange and unique and he had to have them. Your next pets were a bundle of kittens.

Askin was highly upset, he felt betrayed that she would go behind his back and go off with another man and have his children. You rolled your eyes at his idiotiness, but you gave him a kiss on the forehead anyways. He seemed to appreciate it. He eventually accepted his role as Cat Grandpa and he became the best grandparent to his kittens. The toad was a proud uncle.

Your last pet was another Toad, she was pretty much begging you to let her in, it was too hot for her to be out there, and she needed shade and water. So you brought her in and introduced her to her new roommate. She immediately loved her new home, it was better than outside, here it was cool and with just the right amount of heat, water, and shade. The food was good and free too!!

In the end, you and Askin were happy cat parents, your home was full and it was constantly growing, but you both had the love to back it up.

Anyone else feel like theres a certain type of person who thinks that not haing a pet is the worst thing in the world?

I remember saying that if youre allergic to an animal you shouldnt get that animal at all because buying specific breeds of animals isn't ethical. (Assuming that there isnt already an abandoned animal of that breed in a rescue, because that can happen) And they got mad at me as if having a pet is a need.

I have nver had a pet in my entire life, there have been times where I wanted a pet, but now as an adult I see no real reason to get one. I live with three other people, I have more than enough companions, I can talk to my friends online if I'm tired of my family members. Nobody is stopping me, realistically, from making friends in person either. I will not die if I dont get an animal companion.

I would like to have some snails because I think theyre really interesting animals, but I by no means am clamoring to get any nor do I think I ever will have them in my real life. Pets are a big commitment and animals arent toys that should be customized to your liking. Selective breeding causes animals to have a lot of health issues which reduces quality of life, I simply cannot let that slide.

I would also like to add that I think this highlights a bigger problem, a lot of people have been turning away from socializing with other human people. I see people essentially use their pets as a replacement for human interaction, which is so bad. I dont think its very healthy for either the animal or the person for someone to rely on their pet to meet their social needs.

Do you have any advice on house chickens, especially when it comes to keeping them when you have other pets? I’m sorry if you’ve answered similar questions, I tried to use Tumblr’s search feature but it sucks on mobile.

I do know alot of people with house chickens who also have dogs and well trained dogs can cohabit with chickens wandering around the house just fine as long as they are always supervised and both animals have their own secure places such as a crate. Dog with a high prey drive should just be separated from the bird to prevent any tragedies. Cotton the House Rooster's owner has some dogs if you want to see how she does it.

Cats can be alot more difficult because tiny bantams like serama and silkies can be considered a prey item to a cat and a cat can really injure a young chicken if they get into contact due to their gram negative bacteria. Large fowl have less worries and shouldnt keel over like a songbird if a cat swats at it but i still dont recommend letting them have contact. Chickens also love cat litter boxes and will likely try to dig and dustbathe in them regardless if they have other options so having seperate areas for the cat and chicken is just a good idea in general. Cats are most dangerous to young birds and tiny bantams but the larger the bird the less risk is involved, people do keep barn cats with their chickens pretty often after all but i do not for obvious reasons condone predator and prey interactions because an untrained large cat with a high prey drive can still kill an adult chicken if it really wanted to

So my advice would be to have seperate areas of the house/living area for each animal then go from there. There are some house chicken groups on facebook who might have better advice

furry tattoos are always so fascinating to me because i love seeing all that you can do with them. most people just draw the tattoos like fur patterns that have been stickered onto the body without taking into account how that wouldnt really work on fur (which makes sense bc tattoos on skin look cool so it also looks cool to just stick that onto a furry) but i personally really love seeing variety in tattoo applications and thinking about how it would work in real life... what i do personally is that if im designing a world in which all the characters are anthros (there are many ways to do this but ill imagine its something pretty generic for simplicitys sake), i will have a few different kind of "tattoos" that are popular.

the first is literally just bleaching + dying the fur in fun patterns (or just dying it if the character is white or tan to begin with). this would probably be seen as similar to having brightly colored dyed hair in our world, but id imagine its slightly more "extreme" depending on the styles. this is obviously not permanent and it will either fade or shed out. this is one of the more realistic options, as its something we do with our pets in real life! maybe kids and teens too young to have proper tattoos would do this to their fur, along with adults whose jobs prevent them from permanent body modification.

the second is having tattoo parlors specialized for tattooing on naked animals such as sphinxes or xoloitzcuintli (which may or may not actually exist depending on how you build your world and justify domestic dog and cat breed existing but thats a different discussion)... i think they could also probably tattoo other animals if they first shave their fur completely off and only leave skin: maybe punks or people really into body mods keeps parts of or all of their fur shaved off specifically to show off the tattoos. the third option (which is my personal favorite, and also the most unrealistic) is a sort of fantasy tattooing where the tattoo gun is somehow able to inject dye into the fur root and permanently change the color of the fur as it grows in. while this really couldnt happen in real life i love justifying it as something that has somehow been invented in furry societies... id imagine the tattooing procedure would be pretty painful and expensive, but would look very cool. and since this procedure would change the fur colour completely, if the character has long fur they would need to keep the patch of fur where the tattoo is shaved down to keep the design clear (kind of like people who "paint" onto their buzzcuts with hair dye: the dye looks weird if their hair grows longer, even if the dye itself is still in the same design). id imagine there are some people who would keep their entire arms or legs shaved down to show off tattoos, and leave certain parts of their body fur long for aesthetics. im actually unsure as to how realistic this option is, as my "research" (aka googling "is it possible to tattoo a dog) did not yield any results (all the photos and website articles were about either people shaving and dying their dogs fur or saying "YOU SHOULDNT TATTOO A DOG ITS CRUELTY" which is true but also i just wanna know if its *possible*)

the fourth option is also a realistic option, as its something we do in real life: freeze branding on animals with dark fur! people do this to horses and cattle in order to identify them, and the freeze brand makes the hair that grows there permanently white. like the previous option, this one would also require the fur to be shaved or trimmed down to make the design more legible, especially if it was more detailed. id imagine this would be a cheaper and simpler option that the fantasy idea of permanently dying the hair at the root, but its very similar in that it would keep the hair that grows there permanently altered. i think this would be pretty popular due to it being cheaper and quicker than other options. also, if you regret the design you could just dye your fur regularly to make the brand not visible any more. one downside of this method that i could see is that maybe its seen as less special because artists might have a few different brand they use on multiple people: maybe some groups see it as a poser thing. custom designs may be possible, but it would either require the artists to have a few different pieces they would arrange in different positions, or for them to create a custom brand for a specific customer which i imagine would get pretty expensive. also, while i was researching freeze brands for this post i discovered that people have actually attempted freeze brands on all sorts of animals, including sea lions and scaled animals which is very interesting (though the brands last significantly longer on animals with fur compared to fish or animals that shed their skin)

i was talking to my grandma and she mentioned the bag on the bookcase in the room shes staying in, and reached for it kinda playfully like obviously not seriously and she said "its artemis" and i jolted my hand back so fast i nearly fell backwards into the door

my brain like.. seized up for a moment

any hopes i had that maybe just maybe she was still alive is obviously crushed to bits now

i hate when she talks about that stuff like im supposed to feel okay with it. i know shes old and shes lost A LOT of pets so she knows how to cope with it, but ive only really lost like.. 4 total

the problem is that those are the only losses i feel? when my family members die i dont feel sad and i dont really mourn, just kinda.. dissociated for a bit and i make sure to be easy on my family when theyre mourning yknow, but i guess thats cuz i think animals dont deserve it, cuz they dont

to me theyre the purest life, because they dont have a mind to hurt people (minus like. dolphins 💀) it tears me up inside because out of anyone, it shouldnt be them

but everything dies. im STILL coming to terms with that

i would have dreams about my grandma dying when i was younger in like. INCREDIBLY violent ways and i woke up next to her and asked her if she was gonna die, and she told me not anytime soon

i was like... 7? maybe? when that happened, 13 years later and im still coming to terms with it. i remember i was on my other grandmas bed in tears when i was 9 because i realized everyone was gonna die and it felt so unfair

it still feels unfair

ive spent my entire life terrified of when i might go, and it keeps me from living at this point. wont ever get on a plane cuz if i do, thats the one thatll decide to crash. never go on a boat because a storm will kill us and ill die in the worst place possible. wont meet new people cuz they probably will kill me, wont eat something if i dont know what it is cuz itll probably kill me, etc etc

theres no.. like theres no point saying "wow i wish death didnt happen" because everyone wishes that. this isnt a unique fear, but man it feels like no one around me is as scared about it as i am. i have to look up like "how to stop being afraid of death" online and its so. it feels as embarrassing as looking up how to talk to people but i need both of those

1. Are you named after anyone?

Yes!! I’m named after a movie character!! There’s an 80s film called Hiding Out and the main girl (played by Annabeth Gish) is named Ryan!! My mom loved the movie, thus my name was born!! Also, Meg Ryan kind of sparked that idea! My mom was watching a romcom of hers (in true 90s fashion) and saw her name is go by and was reminded of that movie because she it had been a while since she saw it!!

2. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday. I hurt myself and it made me cry for a sec 😅

3. Do you have kids?

Nope!! maybe one day but if I do have one it will honestly probably only be one!!

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

It’s my second language. I try not to use it so much on here because I know people can’t read my tone and I don’t want to come off as malicious!!

5. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?

Their style and behavior! Usually how they treat others or how they act in general!!

6. What’s your eye color?

I have heterochromia, so I have two different colored eyes (I also have two different pupil sizes so that can change my eye color too)!! I have blue bases in both of my eyes, but one of my eyes is blue/gray, and will flip between those two and the other eye is blue/green and it changes from blue, green, and brown. It’s gotten a lot more apparent now, because the eye that has green and brown is often darker than my blue/gray eye!!

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Scary movies can have happy endings. I think it depends certain happy, endings and films people SHOULDNT get. However, I enjoy both!!

8. Any special talents?

I’m a pretty decent musician on various instruments. I know how to play piano, base, a little bit, guitar, and the drums (my personal favorite) and I don’t think I sound like total shit when I sing!

Is reading fast a talent?? I can knock out pretty big books fairly quickly!! I can knock out a 300 page book in about an hour 🤷🏻‍♀️

Music (playing and seeing live concerts), going to conventions, Collecting a lot of shit (vinyl, cassettes, vhs, funko Pops, stuffed animals), Reading, Filmming and Writing!!

I’ve played competitively for a long time multiple sports, I don’t play any now, but I coach volleyball as my part-time job. I played volleyball, basketball, softball, golf, tennis, track, beach volleyball and I think that’s it!!

Music, Art, English, ANY of my film classes!!

sorry maybe this is evil of me but i think some people are legitimately too anxious to have pets. if youre going to get a pet and then have a panic attack in a discord server every time it does something remotely weird you either 1) didnt do enough research before getting it or 2) shouldnt have that pet because its going to stress you out constantly. other people are not obligated to reassure you of basic facts about an animal you can find in even the shittiest care guide for it. it just drives me insane that especially w/fish these people will throw a betta in an uncycled tank and then have a fucking freakout when theres ammonia and refuse to read any fish in cycling guides and instead just come in my discord and scream and cry that he’s gonna die. good fucking lord he won’t die just get off discord and do a water change. im gonna snap one of these days

oh no i don't really mind.

like really you shouldnt ask me about how to do crushes, the conversation i had last time was very complicated because of other things going on. that was the first proper one i had as well. if people need to ask me about things i really dont mind.

as i have said before, the only things that i dont want in the ask box are things about SH (because that can be seriously damaging to others who may see it on my page) death of a pet/animal (a hard no for me) a death of a family member (also a hard no for me because of personal reasons) and any sexual things.

other than those i will answer most things. and if it is something that i dont wanna post, i wont post it. or if its me finding out a boundery i will just say

mascot notes (i used precure mascots and jewelpets [sanrio supports genocide which i shouldnt have 2 explain Why That's Bad, but im simply using them references for if/when i draw or design them] for references. maybe i'll add pokemon like fennekin or buneary later)

lifty and shifty share a mascot and are a duo at the start because theyre together when they meet the mascot - maybe other characters will also share a mascot and be a team at the start but i've only really thought about the mains. i also didn't want to use the same animal as their htf counterpart so i kinda started winging it

so far...

lifty and shifty's mascot will be a fox, bc foxes are often associated with slyness and cunningness. au where they're tom nook and redd's adoptive sons and after their dad's divorced- i'm joking i'm joking. i've contemplated naming him lucky, but who knows if i'll stick with that. dont have any real personality notes though, but obviously he's willing to bribe them.

splendid's mascot will be a dog. specifically a dig with longer floppy ears. i dont know why, but him with a puppy resonated with me i also really miss my beloved hershey, and just having a pet in general. while they dont have a name or a gender yet, i'm imaging them to be a very loyal type who cheers everyone on and, when there's no fighting evil to be done, loves to play. if i go the high school route (or maybe even college route...) they are vety bad about accidentally causing disruptions and everything thinks that the stress of being a model student is making splendid lose his mind.

with splendont and flippy, i just chose animals i liked and are popular for cute magical animal characters. splendont is getting a kitty. personality-wise i'm not sure what i'll go for. maybe a stubborn and impulsive type that tends to push his buttons. or a graceful and calculated cat that is stoic and cold at first but shows a true warm heart as they grow close to others. the forner would have a lot of arguing, the latter would let them both bond over being similar, as well as let splendont show a slightly less confident kitty that they are worthy and kind despite taking time to warm up to others, that they aren't alone.

for flippy i chose a bunny bc i like bnunies. hippity hoppity. this bunny i think would be the most gentle, caring sweetheart ever - but if you hurt their fruends, they'll stop at nothing to get revenge. maybe a sad backstory with a friend dying due to the big bad, and wanting to help to stop the villains as an act of revenge, despite knowing it wont bring back their friend. thus would strengthen flippy's resolve as a hero - fliqpy was the one that wanted to do it for the most part, and flippy was nervous about it (canonically he Did join the army [though he probably wouldn't have in this au] but i think weird magical shenanigans are a lil more concerning bc a talking rabbit comes out of nowhere and tells you to magically transform and fight monsters, and while you do want to help and save people and fight for whats right, this weird magical business is weird and comcerning) especially because bunny seems so sweet and kind. fliqpy thinks revenge seeking is cool and as long as he gets to keep beating up monsters, he'll help bunny avenge their friend.

next i gotta think of transformation trinkets... probably a watch like the yes precure 5 bc im basic. (im not a yes 5 fan but. i read what happened at the end otona precure and 🫤 i. i uh dont like that. at least i didnt get invested, like the devil is a part timer... but i'll stop rambling about uncomfy endings. this a blog for the 'cute animals die gruesomely every episode' show)
