I love how the big bad is one of the most confused people in this whole ordeal is the big bad.
Major villains who have complete control over everything and mastermind literally the whole plot are out, and major villains who are absolutely flabbergasted by the heroes and just out of the depths in how fucked everything is going for them are in.

it's pretty wild to me that people don't see that aang running off to save katara in CoD is his luke in empire strikes back moment, where he runs headlong into his want and attachment and he's narratively punished for doing so and not learning his lesson - aang runs after katara despite guru pathik's warning, like luke runs after leia and han from yoda on dagobah despite yoda's warning; similarly, as a result, things go to hell in ba sing se like they do on bespin - aang enters the avatar state before he's ready and gets killed, and ba sing se falls to the fire nation, luke fights vader before he's ready, loses a hand, and symbolically commits suicide after vader tells him he's luke's father.
the difference between their character arcs is that george lucas and co. actually went thru with luke's hero's journey and understood the fundamental difference between attachment and love, whereas I don't think bryke understood this difference and then dropped this from aang's arc pretty much completely and replaced it with aang digging in his heels into his want and attachment and he gets rewarded with energy bending from a lion turtle, the avatar state from a random pointy rock, and his forever girl from the self-indulgent white men that couldn't bring themselves to give their hero a compelling character arc that meant he might not have gotten everything he wanted at the end.

why do you dislike duolingo? (assuming ur hatred isn’t recent, because Duolingo has taken a nosedive after the ai integration)
i didn't know about the ai integration. it was always bad because fill-in-the-blank sentences with zero context are not how anyone seriously learns a language. the only thing duolingo has down correct is that you have to spend some time reviewing, if not learning, every single day. i was able to quickly learn enough A1/A2 italian to get by in two weeks by going through a few grammar and phrase books for introductory students. you need to know the explicit rules, the verb forms, adjective modifications, irregular patterns, you need to see them all on a chart, and then you need to copy those charts by hand. whenever i see anyone brag about their streak, i seriously doubt whether they know much at all of the language they're learning.
the gameified apps for language learning that do work are anki cards, (especially for mandarin), memrise, conjugaison, and quizlet, which were all free when i used them extensively. reverso context is not a game memorization app, but it's phenomenal

hey. artists who make process videos but want to expend the least amount of effort possible:
fake that shit. finish your piece and then make your lineart white and color it back in. mask your color layers and then un-mask them with brushstrokes. choose something eye catching to copypaste and do that a couple times. add bits of glow/sparkle/foliage/freckles/whatever else is relevant
if you get like three shots like this and then have the rest be video of your finished work no one will know. no one will CARE I promise. do not give your soul to the Microcontent Wheel it is Not worth it
