Tomorrow's outfit 🤍
Tomorrow our university's med students will do their yearly celebration. It's my first time participating in this sort of event and I am excited to join the celebration with my friend whom I haven't seen in such a long time, I am excited to finally meet and talk with her again, and we will have the chance to meet some of our distinguished faculty members. I also have a few friends that I haven't seen in a while and I am looking forward to seeing them again.
A simple white lace blouse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love this lace blouse, it is very feminine and it looks even more stunning in person. The fabric looks very delicate and like it will rip with just one abrupt move but the fabric is quite stretchy. The sleeves are transparent and I can't show my arms for religious reasons, so I'll just wear a white long-sleeved leotard underneath which is VERY convenient because I have a Pilates class tomorrow morning and I can just get changed within seconds. It will also be a little chilly tomorrow so the extra layer will provide me with enough warmth to get through the day. It's a dainty blouse and I just got it but I know that I will get a lot of wear out of it since it is so versatile and I know of a million ways to combine it.
A dark navy skirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My absolute favorite, I wear this almost every day along with my black pencil skirt. It's a staple in my closet, I throw this on and I look super polished with absolutely no effort. I always get compliments when I wear this even though there's nothing special about it but it fits me perfectly. My grandma bought me a ton of A-line skirts a while ago and I hate to say it but they are somewhere at the back of my closet now because they are the most uncomfortable skirts in the whole world and they restrict my movement, I always end up ripping them because I can't walk properly in them. This pencil skirt, on the other hand, is a whole different story - the material is extremely stretchy (it is 100% polyester) and it is pretty much impossible to rip, it fits me perfectly and enhances my body beautifully while still being modest. The skirt rides up so I'll have to wear sheer stockings underneath them and I have to go over it with my lint roller to make sure there is no fuzz.
A lilac chiffon hijab.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most of my hijabs are chiffon, it's my go-to material because I like how flowy and lightweight it is, chiffon is very easy to work with and there are a million different styles. I have found a style that frames my face beautifully and suits my face shape perfectly and I do my hijab the same way pretty much every day. This color is muted and has a grey undertone and it looks very beautiful in combination with navy blue. My dad got me some silver hijab pins, they're a small detail but make me look a million times more put together, I need 4 pins to do the usual style and only 2 of them are visible so I just take the needles and put them to secure my scarf and make sure it stays where it is for the whole day (it never does). I will be wearing silver jewelry with this outfit so they're a nice touch and give me a more cohesive look.
Silver Jewelry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the clothes in my outfit have a cold undertone, so naturally I will wear silver with this ensemble. I will stack the Cartier Love Bracelet in Silver (thin model) with a basic diamond bracelet. I thought about adding Just un clou but I think that would be a little too much and it will not match the blouse. I am not really a big fan of Guess, and I don't own much from the brand but I love silver, I love butterflies and I am beyond obsessed with anything that is cute and classy and this watch ticks every box and it looks so adorable in person, I love it. I also wear earrings with my hijab whenever I can, they always need to be extra long to be visible over my scarf and I love the way they add some sparkle to my face, and how they swing with my every movement, it makes me look more vibrant and lively.
Lacoste Concept Zip Tote Bag. Tommy Hilfiger Ballet Flats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lacoste Tote Bags are ridiculously spacious, they fit everything you can think of but the handles are extremely thin so I am very hesitant about carrying some of my heavier stuff with me, I wouldn't trust it with my laptop or heavier books but it is extremely wide so it fits a lot of binders and notebooks with no issues and it does not damage the corners due to its width like my other bags, and you can just throw things and it is a convenient bag. The Tommy Hilfiger Ballet Flats are from Spring Season 2014 but you can't tell, they look like I just brought them out of the box and it's one of the reasons I love thrifting, you can find great prices for very low prices and they are of such great quality, the ballet flats are real leather and they do not look dated because it's a classic and timeless style.

CHOOSE THE BEST CROP TOP LEHENGA FOR YOUR WEDDING
Tumblr media
Crop top lehenga has come to an immense rage in the world of fashion. All new-aged women love the indo-western combination of a hot and cool crop top on with a lehenga as it lets them play around with style, cuts, designs, patterns, etc.
While some find it extremely easy to pair crop top lehengas to their taste, others find it inversely delicate. You could be one of those who know exactly what they want or perhaps are someone of the ultimate side. Don’t worry, as we are here to take care of that with tons of designs for you to choose the best.
Tips to Wear Crop Top as a Blouse in Marriage Functions
From choosing the pattern to the marriage market, new crop top lehenga designs have taken over the scene everywhere. The versatility of the garments and how they offer a sharp marriage look have made it a super hit among women.
But with numerous styles, patterns, and shades available in the market, you may feel a little overwhelmed about what to pick for the forthcoming marriage functions. Here are some exclusive tips for you:
Go for one that comes with full sleeves outfit and décor your look with a heavy neckpiece. This quintet will add the desired grace and style to your marriage look by balancing out the outfit flawlessly.
While using Crop Top Dresses for the Wedding function, you are free to play with its neckline.
A high neck crop top can make an amazing look, which will amp up with layered jewelry in contrasting colors.
Try to stick to a Crop Top Lehenga For Wedding that does not come with flower embellishments, if you are going to wear vastly heavy beautifiers.
Make sure that you find crop covers look while matching with a largely decorated designer saree. It is also good to conclude for the mono-chromic or gray tones rather than lots of bold and bright colors.
When using a choli for your marriage function, your attire needs to be paired with a Sequin Crop Top Lehenga. A net jacket can also give you an amazing look with this.
Looks Of Crop Top Lehengas For Wedding
· Offbeat In Shades Of Red
Not everybody is fond of detailing golden/ silver lehengas- go offbeat at a marriage function with this fabulous pink Ruffle Crop Top Lehenga. The attractive & simplistic design makes it look classy and elegant. This marriage dress is an odd one to stand out at a wedding function.
· Sharp Work Of Art – A Tulle Crop Top
Looking for a stunning outfit? It may be an entity that may excite you. An off-shoulder crop top in light powder color along with gorgeous tulle sleeves will make you look more soothing than ever at any function.
· Printed Summer Bliss Crop Top
Floral prints have always been appealing and eye-pleasing, especially when it is a flowery printed crop top. and yes, who can miss out on the bright summertime yellow? You can glam up your crop top by adding embroidery or embellishments. Is it something that suits your vibe?
· Bareback Choli With Lehenga
This traditional style has been going on for ages but is still trending in the fashion world. Without the bareback choli, your traditional outfits are deficient. You can go with silk, cotton, and silk blends of a crop top for a more traditional lehenga choli.
· Mix And Match Lehenga Choli
To mix and match a lehenga choli look, you have to put together different pieces of outfits of different colors and designs. However, you can put together two prints in one go, if you are a fashion icon. When mixing two cloths, ensure the colors match and the design and cuts go well together.
· Feeling Blue
This comforting shiny blue Crop Top With Lehenga For Wedding looks stunning, and you can not take your eyes off this one. The embroidery on the blouse adds excess charm to the whole marriage dress. It has an indo- western sense to it, which makes it look more stylish and out of the box.
· Keep It Classic
Classic and straightforward crop top lehenga was always the description of fineness and poise. A crop top like this, which has the neck emphasized with an embroidered gold border, keeps it classic and majestic. You could pair a crop top lehenga like this kind with a heavy, embroidered, or elaborated dupatta.
Final Word
These lehenga combinations are aesthetically beautiful and stand out during special occasions. The designs are meant to produce different aesthetics depending on the occasion.
You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe to make your look stunning. Spend on what you can go with and mix it with what you have. Crop Top Lehengas Online shopping platform is waiting for you.

Omega fashion. Would it be practical or full of frills and beads and be more puff than a cupcake?
okay so just fyi i know nothing about fashion but heres my thoughts so like our own fashion, omega fashion would evolve throughout history. It also heavily depends on the kind of omegaverse you build.
in the past it would have been very common for Alphas to cover their omegas in jewels and gold and fancy fabrics as a way to show the world they can provide. in general most expensive or high fashion pieces aren't super practical (which says a lot about the lifestyle of the people wearing them) so high omega fashion would be absolutely impractical. just no pockets, combo of very tight and very flowy. think corset with billowy sleeves on a blouse.
I think modern omega fashion would be marketed in one of two ways.
You have the practical home maker outfits. They have cute patterns but have large pockets and are easy to take care of. I also think there would be lines of nesting/heat clothing made out of softer materials and run in larger sizes. This fashion would be very much a joe fresh ad come to life.
The second market for clothes would be like the independent business omega type. This would be essentially the same as what Alpha business wear is (suits, slacks, ties, ect ... ) but with more flare and detail. Think of those metal pieces that can decorate the collar of dress shirts. Also just anything blake lively wore in a simple favour. But also for the more feminine omegas think 2nd grade school teacher. Professional and also cute.
Fancy omega fashion? thats a different ball game.
very much not practical in any sense. Its fueled by alphas having this need to show off in front of and for omegas. So omegas are encouraged to go all out fashion wise for special events. I'm thinking met gala levels of impracticality.
The flamboyant omegas go for sparkles, frills, jewelry, elegant embroidery and so much more. But even the more reserved omegas will wear patterns at least.
omg this is much longer than i expected it to be. but also idk if i really said anything.

It’s always an experience to look back at myself as an adolescent and realize how much of my behavior was influenced by the fact that I am asexual and aromantic but didn’t yet know that.
In elementary school, I mostly wore t-shirts and pants of some sort. They were vaguely feminine, but not very much. To be honest, I don’t think I paid that much attention to what I wore in elementary school, though I was obviously influenced by external factors. But in the fifth grade (age 10-11) is I think when I started to actively reject femininity. It definitely happened once I started middle school (11-14). I opted more for a gender neutral look rather than a masculine look, though I didn’t think of it that way - just “not girly”. This trend followed me into high school (14-18), though around age 15 or so I got over my “not like other girls” mentality, which was never super strong but definitely present.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to dress more femininely. There were times when I wished I could wear a blouse instead of a t-shirt and get a hair cut or something. I didn’t want to be super feminine and wear makeup or jewelry or whatnot, but the t-shirt look is hard to pull off and still be seen as mature and have people take me seriously as I grew older. I actually enjoyed the chances to look rather feminine when the circumstances allowed it – namely, dances at high school (until I stopped going to them entirely) and prom.
The problem was that I didn’t like the attention I got whenever I made a change. If I wore a nicer shirt one day, people would comment on it. If I got a hair cut, people would comment on it. If I did anything out of the ordinary, people would comment on it. And save for social situations that were intended for fancier clothing, such as school dances, I did not like the attention. At all. It was mostly from teachers and other female friends who were genuinely nice about it, not even unwanted attention from boys or men. It didn’t help that I went to a small K-12 school, meaning I was with the same 100-odd classmates every year and regularly encountered my old teachers. There were no good transition moments to make any changes besides summer, and even then I didn’t.
I used to wear my hair in a ponytail all the time – initially just to keep it out of my face, but then because I did that constantly, any time I would wear it down on a normal day, someone would comment on it. It got to the point where I would keep it in the ponytail all the time. It was somewhere past my shoulder most of the time. One day when I was 15, during my regularly scheduled hair cut, I decided to cut off enough inches to donate the hair and my stylist straightened my hair for it. It was cut to a bit above my shoulders. I wore it down the next day at school and got a lot of compliments about it. It made me so uncomfortable that I put it back in a ponytail the next day.
(I eventually got so sick of the ponytail and the way it made me look too gender neutral that I forced myself to get it cut short enough that I couldn’t put it in a ponytail and I just dealt with the discomfort until my shorter hair was normalized.)
It did vex me, back then, why I didn’t like any attention that focused on how pretty I looked whenever I made some change to my physical appearance. I didn’t think that it was because I didn’t think I wasn’t pretty and that’s why I didn’t like the attention – I was fairly aware of how body image problems in teenagers worked, and to my recollection, that never played a big role in my dislike of attention. I knew I had good skin and pretty eyes and did think my face was pleasing when I looked in the mirror. And rejecting femininity a bit helped me find solace in not conforming to beauty standards. I also must give credit to my mother, who was nothing but supportive and never pressured me to perform femininity, and neither really did any of the other adult figures that had a significant influence on me, which certainly helped.
As an adult who has studied queer theory and feminist theory, and who has reflected on my experience as a young acearo woman, I’ve come to realize how much my sexual and romantic orientations impacted me in this regard. It resolves the paradox of wanting to be more feminine-presenting to look more mature while simultaneously dreading any attention I’d get for making a change towards femininity.
To a younger me, any attention to my appearance when I presented even a tiny bit femininely meant that it increased the chances that a boy might ask me out. Not hit on me, but ask me out. It was one of the interpersonal things I dreaded the most during high school. I did not want a boy to ask me out because I knew I would say no because I wasn’t interested in dating. I was desperately afraid of making things awkward between me and whoever it was, because the boys that were most likely to ask me out (in my mind) were the boys I was close friends with. In my mind, knowing that a friend of mine in high school had a crush on me was a terrifying prospect – knowing that I had rejected them while they were still “in love” with me. The influence of media was definitely there, as I’d seen way too many Disney Channel TV shows and movies where the guy was rejected by the girl and it made things awkward. I didn’t want to lose any of my friends that way. (I won’t go into details, but my reluctance to date anyone did end up backfiring on me and I did lose a friend, though that was largely due to my own awkwardness on not understanding why I was so reluctant to date anyone.)
The romance part would have been okay-ish, but at that point I didn’t yet have a split-attraction model to go on and so, to me, any act of dating would necessarily involve holding hands, cuddling, and kissing, and possibly sexual activity, all of which I knew as early as age 11 that I did not want. And because I was repulsed by the idea of physical and sexual intimacy, dating was out of the question. I knew it was okay to not want to date anyone and to not want to have sex with anyone, during high school or ever, because my mother had raised me to think those are valid options (thanks Mom), but at the time, I didn’t have a concept of what being sex-repulsed was.
I think that made it difficult and uncomfortable for me to process the idea that someone could be sexually attracted to me. I wasn’t so ignorant to believe that other people were also repulsed by sex and I knew other people enjoyed sex, especially teenagers. But the mere idea that someone could view me in a way related to sex – even if they didn’t want to act on it – was so unsettling to me that I couldn’t stand it. I don’t think it was about being seen as a sexual object by boys, since those were easy to turn down (and I did have a few male classmates ask me out), but rather seen as being sexually attractive to boys I already had a good friendship with.
Also, while I was aware of homosexuality from a young age and had no problems with it, there were no girls out as wlw while all of this was going on, so it didn’t occur to me to be wary of their attraction. I knew as well that I wasn’t interested in girls, so – because my framework was “straight or gay” without a concept of asexuality – by default I must be interested in boys, and them with me. There’s also the gendered stereotypes of girls sharing everything with their girl friends, but not sharing emotional intimacy with boys. But most of my good friends were boys, and so if I were to be emotionally intimate with any of them, I’d have to date them.
Of course, I lacked the knowledge and self-awareness to figure all of this out until much later, and it took longer to come to terms with the relationship I had between femininity, others’ sexual attraction, and my own self-image (though none of that is static, nor should it be). I also lacked the awareness that the boys I was friends with who might be interested in asking me out might also not be interested in a physical and sexual relationship. I didn’t have the concept that an emotionally intimate relationship in high school could be anything but physical or sexual. I think a lot of it came down to the fact that I didn’t know how to process any potential awkwardness, but I wasn’t fully aware of my inability to process it, so I just avoided it as much as I possibly could. Looking back, there were definitely some contradictions in how I thought and behaved, but hey, I was a young and socially awkward teenager navigating an uncharted territory that I didn’t know was uncharted.
Besides being fairly vocal to my friends about the fact I wasn’t interested in dating (which I explained away by saying “I don’t want to be distracted by dating during high school”, such a typical excuse of non-straight folk) the best weapon I had against people finding me attractive was to downplay my appearance. And so I desexualized my appearance – or, rather, maintained the neutral appearance I’d had from elementary school and made it even less attractive to boys (at least, in the opinion of my adolescent self.) Any act of femininity that was noticed by a teacher or female classmate was something that could be noticed by a boy in my high school, which meant that they may be inspired to ask me out, which meant sexual attraction, which was repulsive and uncomfortable to me.
I hold no ill will towards myself for not understanding this when I was a teenager, and I don’t blame any of the authority figures or educators in my life for not helping me understand this. It’s likely they didn’t understand any of this themselves, and it’s not like I was fully aware of why I felt certain ways and did certain things either, nor was I very open about all of this either because I can be a rather private person at times. It’s also not like asexuality, aromanticism, and sex-repulsion are well-known things, let alone discussed frequently in books about childrearing and queer adolescents. It’s just another sign of how the hyper focus on heterosexual monogamy (also known as amatonormativity) in Western culture and society actively hurts queer people, especially when they’re young and aren’t aware that they’re not straight, or are but are struggling to come to terms with that (it also applies to non-cis folk, but that’s not relevant to my experience.)
Ultimately, I see my struggles with gender presentation and interpersonal relationships, and the stress they caused me, during middle and high school as a symptom of our culture and society’s failure in general to represent a wide variety of queer experiences – particularly outside of lesbian, gay, and trans identities – to young people so that people like me can better understand themselves. I can’t deny the fact that the social norms about dating and relationships in high school that I found in the media I consumed had a major impact on me, to the point where they sometimes contradicted how my mother tried to raise me. This post is in part a reflection on myself that struck me recently, but also yet another piece of evidence about how the lack of representation for ace and aro people actively damages our lives.

Extremely detailed character sheet template
Character’s full name: Bowan deFlorentine
Reason or meaning of name: OOC I like gender-neutral or masc-leaning names for all characters, and thought it sounded cool at the time! I just took “Bowen” and added an “a” to make it slightly more feminine, visually.
Character’s nickname: “Bo”
Reason for nickname: It’s short and cute!
Birth date: January 23rd (the day she hit lvl 10 in-game :P I use that for all my Wow RP characters)
Physical appearance
Age: 37
How old do they appear: About the same
Weight: 145lb / 65kg, an average healthy weight if on the lighter side
Height: 5′11″ / 180cm, taller than average for cis women
Body build: Angular, long-legged, lean
Shape of face: Oval-shaped, with sharp cheekbones and a strong jawline and strong chin
Eye color: Dark brown
Glasses or contacts: neither
Skin tone: Medium brown
Distinguishing marks: Broken nose, blind & scarred right eye
Predominant features: Probably the nasty dead eye
Hair color: Black
Type of hair: Thick and wavy
Hairstyle: Wears it long and down, or in a low ponytail tied with a ribbon
Voice: Low & rich with a heavy Gilnean lowborn accent
Overall attractiveness: Super subjective, but she’s got that handsome aging roughed-up scoundrel sailor look if you’re into that  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Physical disabilities: Blind on her right side
Usual fashion of dress: Heavy leather or canvas coats, high collars, heeled, thigh-high leather boots, wide-brimmed hats with feathers in the band, loose long-sleeved blouses tucked into a high waistline, fencer's gloves
Favorite outfit: TBH probably her old Cavalier uniform and coat; a dark- and steel-blue laced-up vest, leather, with gold and brown trimmings and a wide-brimmed hat with a white feather in it. Single blue leather pauldron with the gold Cavalier star on it
Jewelry or accessories: Very little, usually one or two small hoop earrings. A golden wedding ring on a chain necklace under her shirt. No rings or bracelets
Personality
Good personality traits: Motherly, caring, charming, helpful, protective, curious
Bad personality traits: Moody, impulsive, stubborn, reckless, anxious, violent
Mood character is most often in: Current day, bitter and melancholic
Sense of humor: Inside jokes, straight-faced funny comments, good-natured teasing.
Character’s greatest joy in life: Her seven-year-old son, Rory.
Character’s greatest fear: Losing either Rory or Jeán, her husband.
Why?: Because she loves them, and they’re the only family she has left in the entire world, and she’s lost/ given up everything else in her life to protect them and to make a life for her family.
What single event would most throw this character’s life into complete turmoil?: She’s numb to everything that’s not extreme at this point, so again, losing either Rory or Jeán
Character is most at ease when: When her family is not only happy but safe, as are her close friends, and she’s at home somewhere warm and dry and comfortable and there's no war going on
Most ill at ease when: Someone she loves is missing, or hurt, or in great danger, or when she doesn't know where she is / is lost
Enraged when: Something threatens the safety of her loved ones or children
Depressed or sad when: When she’s isolated away from people she loves.
Priorities: She’s been forced into survival mode lately, so #1 is her family’s and her own safety. Beyond that, her son’s happiness, her husband’s happiness, her friends’ happiness, and then protecting others. She's happy when others are happy.
Life philosophy: There’s some good left in the world, and it’s worth fighting for. But family always comes first.
If granted one wish, it would be: To bring Timira Redsummer back
Why?: She was her closest friend and now she’s dead, and she’s tired of losing people and having no control over all the loss in her life.
Character’s soft spot: Children, and music
Is this soft spot obvious to others?: OH absolutely, she’s SUCH a mom. Her rough grimdark rogue sailor deal just vanishes around kids and she’s making funny faces and listening very intently to their babytalk stories and crouching all the way down so they can take her hand and lead her around to show her interesting things, etc. The usual supercute little kid stuff. She loves children and is very good with them.
Greatest strength: Never ever giving up when it comes to protecting others, accomplishing her goals at any means necessary, even at the cost of her own safety or health (which crosses very quickly into one of her greatest weaknesses)
Greatest vulnerability or weakness: She can be on the self-destructive side, and is easily goaded into fights against her better judgement because she can just not back down from a threat or a challenge.
Biggest regret: Leaving Teldrassil during the War of Thorns before the attack, when it was just citizens and adventurers and soldiers helping to evacuate / fortify / bring supplies to the city, as they were expecting a siege. She left to go get her ship in Stormwind and bring it as a back-up to get escaping citizens out in case they needed to evacuate. She sailed back to a completely burning tree.
Minor regret: Not having a wedding with Jeán. They had been together for a few years and had talked about getting married, but were too busy with work. They got hastily married on paper before she left for Kul Tiras.
Biggest accomplishment: Founding the Stormwind Cavaliers with Jeán, and the few years she spent as the captain for them. They did a lot of good work for the city and for the people, especially in the surrounding territories like Elwynn, Westfall, and Duskwood.
Minor accomplishment: She can make the meanest cup of Gilnean black lavender tea
Past failures they would be embarrassed to have people know about: Actively sheltering a rogue Uncrowned agent and trying to cover up all the VERY obvious murders they kept committing under her watch while working for the city guard, oops   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why?: Because at the time, they were very close friends and she didn’t have the guts to make the tough calls.
Character’s darkest secret: As of now in the storyline, currently, hunting and sinking Horde ships out of revenge for Teldrassil. She hasn’t told a soul and uses an alias with the crew she works with.
Does anyone else know?: Not yet!
Goals
Drives and motivations: She wants vengeance for all the lives lost in Teldrassil, but the root of it comes from wanting to protect her family and friends and loved ones. Second only to those feelings is her desire for freedom, and sees sailing and going rogue as an opportunity to kill three birds with one stone.
Immediate goals: Sink Horde ships.
Long term goals: Building a better world for her son and her friends’ children.
How the character plans to accomplish these goals: Gathering a crew of other disgruntled Alliance soldiers and hunting down as many Horde ships and soldiers as they can before they get caught and probably executed.
How other characters will be affected:  😬 Well Jeán was a pirate and gave up everything to live his life with Bowan, and to find she’s been doing basically piracy behind his back would be a big oof. Plus before it all she was a very proud soldier of the Alliance and strove to better herself and to be a good and kind person, so it would probably be very disturbing news to others. Then again, that’s only if they find out.
Past
Hometown: Keel Harbor, Gilneas.
Type of childhood: Strict-ish. Father was a sailor, mother was a wealthy merchant’s adopted daughter. Her father tried to teach her freedom and passion, her mother tried to teach her obedience and to be ladylike. Mother ultimately won and she was more or less prepared for marriage into her teen years until she ran away to escape the pressure.
Pets: A hound dog named Jager.
First memory: Meeting her maternal grandmother for the first- and last time. She was a harvest witch and disappeared to escape witch hunts.
Most important childhood memory: Sailing with her father outside the harbor for the first time. It was a dangerous trip and they nearly capsized, but she loved every second of it.
Why: While Bowan and her mother Louise loved eachother, they weren’t as close as she and her father, Bayne. Her father always encouraged her to be herself and to blaze her own path, and her mother told her that she would never find a husband acting like that. Really experiencing sailing and the sea made her realize that that was quite all right, because if being a good wife meant giving up exciting things like sailing then the choice was obvious for her.
Childhood hero: Genn Greymane
Dream job: Professional bard! She *almost* achieved that after running away from home in Gilneas but never could quite make it happen.
Education: Homeschooling and a few years of attending a little bitty schoolhouse in the countryside.
Religion: The lowkey Light worship Gilneas practiced, and some of the Old Ways.
Finances: Not poor, but her father had to work very hard to support them and tried not to let it show.
Present
Current location: Kul Tiras
Currently living with: No one she’s close to, a crew of other soldiers unhappy with the way the war with the Horde was handled.
Pets: Ardis, her beautiful black mare, is stabled in Stormwind.
Religion: Same as her childhood, a bit of Old Ways and a bit of Light.
Occupation: Unofficially ex-Alliance soldier and guard, pirate
Finances: Actually doing pretty well from herself considering all the ships she’s robbed! :D
Family
Mother: Louise Ollington
Relationship with her: Strained, but they were family at the end of the day. She was born into a family of harvest witches who were culled by some backwoods witch hunts. She was dropped off in Gilneas city and adopted by wealthy bookkeeping nobles. The entire experience still left her very unhappy and traumatized, so she clung very tightly to her new life and tried to make sure her daughter would be safe and not face the same challenges as she did when she went against tradition.
Father: Bayne Arrow
Relationship with him: Very close. A sailor from Tanaris, he tried to make as comfortable of a life for Louise but could never really live up to her expectations. They still loved each other very much, and he adored his daughter and tried to instill in her the same love of adventure and the sea as his family had. Ultimately his teachings won over, but it cost the family a lot.
Siblings: None.
Relationship with them: n/a
Spouse: Jeán deFlorentine.
Relationship with them: Jeán were best friends long before the relationship became romantic. They’re perfect for eachother, both cocky swaggering rogues who love duel banter and sailing and getting into trouble. They had all sorts of wild adventures and hit rock bottom and bounced back together, and they bonded hard and fast. They never really bothered with marriage before because they didn’t feel like their relationship needed it, but they got married on paper before Bowan left for the war in Kul Tiras just so they didn’t leave any regrets in case she didn’t come back.
Children: Rory, her son.
Relationship with them: He’s a bastard, but she doesn’t like to talk about it or his father. She loves him more than anything and is doing her best to raise him to be a good person. He’s a very gentle and sweet boy.
Other important family members: None.
Favorites
Color: Dark grey-teal, the color of the sea during a storm.
Least favorite color: Pink, only because it’s just very much not her color.
Music: Fiddle and hurdy-gurdy.
Food: Pandaren cuisine, especially dumplings and spring rolls.
Literature: Romance, and inspiring heroic adventure novels.
Form of entertainment: Music! She loves to sing and play her own instruments or listen to others perform.
Mode of transportation: Her ship, a former Stormwind sloop with black sails.
Most prized possession: Her Cavalier rapier, a gift from Jeán when the unit was founded.
Habits
Hobbies: She used to practice minor medicinal alchemy when she was young. She likes to read and write for fun too, and riding her horse on the trails around Stormwind city when she still lived there.
Plays a musical instrument?: Yes! Mandolin and guitar. She’s a little rusty but she’s talented.
Plays a sport?: Fencing!
How they would spend a rainy day: Brewing tea and reading by the fireplace, either alone or to her son. OR sailing.
Smokes: Yes, occasionally.
Drinks: Too much these days, before also occasionally.
Other drugs: None
What do they do too much of?: OVERTHINK
What do they do too little of?: Taking a goddamn breath and thinking things through before jumping into dangerous situations.
Extremely skilled at: Sailing.
Extremely unskilled at: Cooking.
Nervous tics: Bouncing knee, cracking knuckles, drumming fingers
Usual body posture: Confident but closed-off.
Mannerisms: Lively even in poor moods, lots of expressive gestures and hand motions
Peculiarities: She seems fidgety and checks over her shoulder too much until she gets her back to a wall. She always goes for the wall seat and likes to face the door.
Traits
Optimist or pessimist?: Tries to be an optimist but her natural state is pessimist. It’s just been beat out of her.
Introvert or extrovert?: Ambivert, she’s a social butterfly in good moods but gets moody fast and retreats to be alone often.
Daredevil or cautious?: Some sort of unstable mix of both, anxious a lot and overthinks danger but then does stupid recklessly brave things like, for example, challenge old and terrifying pirate captains to duels she has ZERO hope of winnings (this has happened like three times now??)
Logical or emotional?: Emotional. She’s not controlled by her emotions but they are powerful. Listening to her heart and her gut keeps her alive.
Disorderly and messy or methodical and neat?: Surprisingly organized and neat. When she had her own desk at the Cavalier office it was fancy and extremely well-kept.
Prefers working or relaxing?: Prefers working. She’s a bit of a workaholic, and doesn’t like to sit still for too long.
Confident or unsure of themself: Fairly confident these days.
Animal lover?: Yes, but not to the point to keep pets.
Self-perception
How they feel about themself: Her confidence isn’t low, but currently she’s felt helpless about her life and her path and is doing whatever she can to feel like she has some control. She knows some of the things she’s doing is wrong but feels like she has to make the hard calls for once and do the dirty work no one else is willing to do.
One word the character would use to describe self: Ambitious.
What does the character consider their best personality trait?: Her dedication to her family.
What does the character consider their worst personality trait?: Her inability to let go of the past.
What does the character consider their best physical characteristic?: She loves her hair and takes pride in keeping it long and brushed and clean.
What does the character consider his/her worst physical characteristic?: Her broken nose that was never set right and healed crooked, and now her scarred eye. She thinks it’s ugly and will frighten children.
How does the character think others perceive him/her: Hopefully, as someone they can trust and will be there for them when they need her, always.
What would the character most like to change about themself: Her paranoia and her anxiety. She’s been horribly wounded by the past and wants so badly to heal from it but she just can’t find the right way to do it yet.
Relationships with others
Opinion of other people in general: Bowan has a low opinion of people as a whole, and views people in general as something to defend herself against, but believes in the good of individuals.
Does the character hide their true opinions and emotions from others?: Sometimes. She’s the sort to hide her minor feelings from others to save their own feelings, and isn’t above lying to loved ones if she thinks it will protect them.
Person character most hates: Sylvanas Windrunner (now that Deathbreathe is dead). She wants her dead SO BAD.
Best friend(s): Timira Redsummer, Jeán deFlorentine, Watcher and Seeker, Reiko Al-Tariq.
Love interest(s): Jeán deFlorentine
Person character goes to for advice: Timira
Person character feels responsible for or takes care of: Watcher and Seeker, the Twins. They used to be in a spy unit together but they’re a lot younger than she is and just wants them to be safe. All of the Cavaliers, too, present and former.
Person character feels shy or awkward around: No one, she’s over those feelings.
Person character openly admires: Lorna Crowley
Person character secretly admires: Princess Tess Greymane (secret due to her work for the Uncrowned).
Most important person in character’s life before story starts: Her father
After story starts: Rory, her son

Hey girly! I was wondering how can i dress more feminine? My all time goal is to have a vintage influenced girly style, pastel colors, ribbons etc. I have a vintage dress but it's so long (around mid-calf) i'm kind of insecure to wear it out yet eventho it's very cute. Also do you have any tips to incorporate feminine aspects into my style? Like some basic items. You seem like you dress so dainty and lady-like!
this is such a sweet question! of course incorporating more skirts & dresses into your regular outfits is a great start! i totally understand how you feel about feeling insecure to wear longer dresses especially if you’re not used to it, maybe start out by just wearing it somewhere you’ll be alone, like the mall or something. i always try it more ‘daring’ pieces alone before i’m with people i know haha! (also if you’re nervous about it looking like ‘too vintage’ (ie costume-y) maybe try pairing it with like more trendy looking accessories or shoes or something)
my style isn’t super vintage, but i definitely love to keep it classic by having a lot of more simple & kind of refined looking pieces. also anything that has dainty/lace detailing (like little crochet looking flowers on it) is super cute! i definitely try to stay away from tighter fabrics and go more for light & airy things. a great go-to vintage inspired outfit would be like a simple white button-up blouse & a skirt at whatever length you want! (having a really versatile white blouse can give you so many outfits)
so anyways i’ll finish with just like a list of tips & items you might love to have!
- at least for me, i try to stay away from big pieces of jewelry/accessories and go for more dainty pieces (little lockets are so fun!)
- white tights/knee socks, these might seem a little immature with some outfits but they feel so girly and fun to me in some outfits!
- literally just buy some thin ribbon from any store & tie a piece into your half up half down or ponytail. it looks so cute! (to me at least)
- those shoes that are kind of like mary-jane style or the ones with the T-strap feel very vintage to me & go with like every skirt or dress
- long/knee length linen skirts are so cute & will last so long, and they’re kind of trendy right now! i don’t have one but i really want one :-)
- also pleated skirts of any length are so cute and feminine!
- if you google/search on pinterest like “(whatever decade) fashion magazine” or something like that there’s so many cute vintage pics for outfit inspiration
(sorry this is so long i really love fashion as you can tell haha! maybe i’ll do an actual post about this sometime?)

Daisy Outfit Compilation
Daisy from @bittersweetcandybowl usually dons her simple pearl necklace by itself, but occasionally she gets all dolled up and I think that’s really cute. I think of the cast, she’s the most interesting clothing-wise. She doesn’t wear it consistently, but she wears it more often than pretty much any of the not-always-clothed characters, if that makes sense. So I decided that, instead of doing my day job, I was going to make a compilation of all of Daisy’s outfits.
This probably won’t be an analysis, more of a dump with images and chapters listed. I like to draw her wearing clothing a lot and I like basing her outfits on things I think she would actually wear. I think her taste has remained pretty consistent through the years, so let’s see if that’s true! And also, sorry if I missed any, and please feel free to reply with any that I do miss.
Tumblr media
The very first outfit we see Daisy wear is her cheerleader outfit (right). This one is her middle school one, which is a little different from high school, but I couldn’t find a color version. I also included a shot from when Augustus recalls seeing her in this in a later chapter, though it looks like she’s wearing her pearls on that one. Don’t you know you’re not supposed to wear accessories in uniform, Daisy?!
Tumblr media
Not sure if it counts (since it was for a gag) but she did dress up as a lobster with the rest of the gang for Mike’s birthday. I love the little smile on her hat.
Tumblr media
Next, the gang surprises her with a Daisy dress, of the Mario variety. Unfortunately, she doesn’t appreciate it very much. A shame, considering how much that thing must have cost!
Tumblr media
This shows up in a flashback scene with Paulo, but I can’t really tell what it is. A coat I think? It’s not something she wore all the time though, since we’ve seen her as a child and she’s not been in it.
Tumblr media
The first Christmas outfit, at Tess’s first party. All of the crew’s outfits are Santa inspired this year, but Daisy’s is particularly adorable thanks to a big bell she wears around her neck.
Tumblr media
As it warms up, their PE class involves swim lessons, where Daisy’s donning a black T-shirt. I didn’t even think she would own one, considering how much she loved pastels, but she really is quite self conscious. I can’t tell if she’s wearing any bottoms, since it is a long shirt. I imagine she probably has those boyshort type bottoms, probably also in black.
Tumblr media
Hush, no, you’re perfect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least she seem comfortable in her cheer outfit! Chapter 38 features the first appearance of her high school cheer outfit, which is different from her middle school one, most notably, that she seems allowed to wear jewelry. (she’s not the only one, as Katie is wearing a necklace.) Also, her new outfit shows off her middriff and has a different pattern on the front chest panel. This one shows up in a few different chapters (list not comprehensive) as well as in the Candybooru. Also interesting, is that it looks like their school colors are sky blue and black. Go Roseville High!
Tumblr media
AYOO meme time
But seriously what a weird but cute outfit! It’s so unique!! She was really laying it on thick to impress Mike, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she made it herself. It has a bit of a modified-from-thrift-store-finds feel doesn’t it? I have no idea if Daisy can sew but I am choosing to believe she does. Sadly, the night goes horribly wrong, but hey, at least she looked cute right?
Tumblr media
It’s kinda messed up that Tess was pushing so hard for Mike and Lucy to go to Acapulco, but totally doesn’t seem to care if Daisy and Abbey skipped out. Daisy helped you pass your classes, Tess! I mean, I guess Abbey did need the support, and we did get to see Daisy wear a cute dress to see them off. There’s lots of shots with it being all flowy and girly, I love it so much. That sash is great.
Tumblr media
Speaking of cute dresses, she wore a simple but pretty one on her first date with Abbey. They went to a therapy session slash picnic which is a... non traditional choice, but a very sweet one. You can tell she’s really into Abbey by how she’s dressing up for him, and that Taeshi had a lot of fun drawing the flowiness of it.
Tumblr media
Bonus silly cute images featuring glasses Daisy. She also sports glasses in the student gov chapter, and whenever she’s shown in the future, she also has them. Adorable.
Tumblr media
Halloween costumes are always fun, and Daisy’s costume for freshman year was a traditional one-- a witch. I love the off-the-shoulders look of it. It’s a shame she wasn’t really important that chapter. I’m interested to see what the current Halloween chapter will have her wearing, if she’s in it.
Tumblr media
Pillow Talk is still one of my favorite chapters, because who doesn’t love gossip? What’s interesting is all of them wear pjs, even if they don’t normally wear clothing. Daisy showed up just wearing her pearls, and then put on a sleep dress (gown?) at the actual party. I included a shot of her room from this chapter too, since how she decorates her space is just as interesting as how she decorates her body, right?
Tumblr media
Parties are definitely where Daisy likes to show off her fashion sense the most. Tess also hosts the Christmas party the next year, and it’s very cute. She’s got like... a poncho style thing, which actually became a trend way after this I think, since this chapter came out in about 2012, but a sort of Mexican inspired flowy top seems like something that definitely became super common in 2018. She’s ahead of her time! I think I love the flower ornament by her ear too. I couldn’t find a good shot of the length of the dress though.
Tumblr media
But enough happy times. The day after the party, she wore this bright navy blue trench coat when she and Abbey went to visit Charlotte’s grave. Usually her fur is enough to keep her warm, so wherever Charlotte is, must be freezing. I wonder if she’s got anything under it, or if that’s not a prerequisite for coats in the BCB universe?
Tumblr media
Looks like the trip to the cemetery got her too bummed out to plan an outfit for the New Year’s party. She’s just wearing her standard pearls for that one. Tess has a cute dress though.
Tumblr media
She’s in a much better mood by Rachel’s party. I love that her shoes match perfectly. Off-the-shoulders is a great look for her, just like with her witch costume. This one is also reminiscent of the Mexican style blouses I mentioned earlier. I don’t think the waist-cinching has the effect she was probably going for though, at least not without a belt. She really seems to like baby blue huh?
Tumblr media
WAIT A MINUTE THAT’S JUST MIKE COLORED.
Tumblr media
AWKWARD.
Tumblr media
But moving on! Remember how we found out she’s a huge weeb? That was great. The lanyard and backpack are such a great touch of realism. Con badges are the worst part about cosplaying at cons, since if you’re caught off guard you’ll have it in the shot, ruining all of your hard work. She obviously did put some effort into it too-- her costume is really well sewn and intricate and poofy. Notice all those panels on the chest and skirt. My theory that Daisy can sew intensifies. Also those bows are just too cute! I wish she wore them more often.
Tumblr media
The same night she’s wearing some pjs again, this time a blue slip. Nothing fancy.
Tumblr media
While not an outfit, Love Again opens with the first canon appearance of Daisy’s hip curls, inspired by Kit’s lovely fanart. I’m pretty sure they have a tumblr but I don’t know it, sorry!! I’ll edit it if I find out.
Tumblr media
An intermission comic featuring all of their days starts Daisy off in pjs. These look like the one from Lucy’s birthday sleepover, judging by the collar frills. Looks like it might be getting more snug on her as she grows up.
Tumblr media
Speaking of growing up, here’s Daisy all dressed up for her birthday, sporting a very cute bow. Her actual dress is made of a really strange material that’s presumably extremely thin, and sewn with plenty of elastic, judging by the wrinkles. I think it’s an interesting experimental outfit, but it’s so detailed it doesn’t really look the best in small scale. I’m not a huge fan of the wrinkled look in general, but the colors are very flattering on her, and the overskirt thing is pretty nice.
Tumblr media
Daisy makes a brief appearance in Escape Route, a chapter mostly about Augustus and Lucy. Normally she wears dresses, but this time she’s rocking a cupcake liner. Okay, so it’s not really her, but I can’t not include this cute cupcake!
Tumblr media
Last but not least, here’s her outfit for Mady’s birthday party. I adore this outfit so much! It’s amusingly similar to one of Lucy’s mother’s outfits, though her mother pairs it with pants.  That being said, I think this is my absolute favorite outfit of hers. The cardigan pairs great with her necklace, and the belted dress is just so flattering and and adds just enough detail. I think it’s simple, classy, flirty, and just so cute. Most of her looks have been blue, and this is actually one of the few pink outfits she owns, but we know she does like it based on her room. Pink pairs with her apricot/cream fur for a fun, girly look that’s just right for her.
And with that, we’ve finished compiling all of her outfits from the comic, though I didn’t gather any outfits that are Booru-exclusives, like her prom(?) dress. I thought about including those, but there’s so many to go through, and their canonity was so iffy that I decided against it for this post.
It seems safe to say Daisy has very simple tastes, with a rather timeless but definitely girly feel to them. Flowy, mid thigh dresses and skirts are her favorites, and seems to prefer sleeveless or off-the-shoulder looks. She also has a tendency to dress up to impress boys, but she does genuinely seem to enjoy making outfits, and she’s quite fashionable!
I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed making it. Daisy deserves all the love in the world.

New acquaintances | Chapter 2
I’m so so so sorry for the delay of this (and for how short it is) but my body was on lockdown the past 2 weeks, which is why this chapter is so short.. I’m not super happy with it but I didn’t want you to wait any longer so I decided to upload what I had written so far. Anyways, I hope you’ll enjoy this (very short) 2nd chapter ♥
Alfie Solomons x Reader
Chapter 1
You fell asleep right after going to bed - today was exhausting after all.
The next morning you stayed in bed until it was almost noon. The sun was shining through the curtains of your window and you felt safe here at your friends place. You decided to finally get up and do something. Ollie was at work and you had time to sort out your dirty clothes and think about what you will do for a living now that you’re back.
Before you left, you’ve been working as a maid for an old wealthy lady, but you didn’t want to be someone’s servant anymore. You wanted to do something exciting, something tabooed.
During “breakfast” you read the newspaper Ollie left on the kitchen table. There were quite a few job offers in there but you weren’t really interested in any of them. While eating your rye bread, you started thinking about last night again. Alfie was a really handsome man and seemed to like you but the rumours were hard to ignore. You actually hoped to get to know him better and form your own opinion.
After cleaning up Ollie’s kitchen and your room you put on your coat to go for a walk. You missed London. It was about to get dark and you noticed that there were even more night clubs than before and thought that maybe a job at one of them was what you needed. Asking around for a while, you found out that a newly opened cabaret club was still looking for employees.
It took you about 20 minutes to walk there and when you finally arrived and stepped inside, you were blown away by the atmosphere. The girls were performing on a stage which was outlined by light bulbs and had a curtain out of red velvet on each side and the orchestra was playing an upbeat tune. The guests were cheering, drinking and flirting. Everyone seemed so carefree and playful. Exactly what you needed. You asked a barmaid where you could find the owner of the club and were directed upstairs.
Making your way up, you stopped for another minute to watch the show. After the girls were done, you continued your way upstairs and knocked on the door. “Come in.” you heard a female voice call. Stepping inside the room, you spotted an elderly lady behind a large wooden desk. “Good evening, Mrs. My name is Y/N Y/L/N and I’ve heard you’re still looking for employees.” you said in a calm voice. You didn’t know why you were so relaxed. Usually you wouldn’t be able to form a proper sentence in a situation like this. “Good evening, sweetheart. I’m Mrs. Cowell, but call me Arlene. Have a seat.” the lady answered. “Thank you.” was all you said before taking a seat in front of her desk. “You don’t strike me as a performer so I assume you want an honest job?” Arlene asked with a wink. She seemed to be a really lovely lady. Her hair had an auburn colour and fell loosely on her shoulders. She was wearing a red blouse and lots of jewelry. “Yes, an appropriate job would be preferred.” you giggled. You already liked Arlene and were happy that she was the owner of this club.
“Well, we’ve got enough bar staff but I could offer you a job at the entrance of the club as a ticket vendor - a great view of the stage is obviously included.” she said as she got up to get 2 glasses from behind her. “That’d be amazing, Arlene! When can I start?” you cheered, barely believing you found a job already. Arlene pushed a glass of gin to your side of the table and told you that you can start next week.
After some chit chat and talking about some job details you made your way back home. By the time you were back, Ollie already went to bed but left a little note for you.
“Hey Y/N, hope you had a calm day today. I sadly couldn’t stay up until you’re back but I just wanted to let you know that my boss asked if it was possible to talk to you next weekend (I don’t know what he wants). Just let me know when Alfie can meet you next time we see each other. -Ollie
You read the note multiple times to make sure you didn’t imagine things. Alfie wanted to meet you. The problem was that you had to work next weekend so you sadly had to cancel for now. You’d tell Ollie over breakfast tomorrow because now, all you wanted was to warm up in bed. The night was cold and you didn’t wear a proper coat for the cold English weather. After your night routine, you found yourself in bed - restless, because you were so excited about the job at the cabaret. You’d have to go buy some proper clothing for the place soon though.

OC Ask Meme: wardrobe, poison, contact (Whisper); microscope, mixtape, hobby (Oriana); photo album, ufo, interiors (Celandine); fragrance, parachute, psyche (Lyra); conspiracy theory, shooting star (Maggie); lighting, love note, chess board, wild card (any)
Alright, this got super long so the answers are under the cut!
Whisper:
Wardrobe:What is your OC’s style like?
It’s kind of hard to describe; Whisper tries not to beas loud and clashy as, say, Ignatius, but after living with a carnival foralmost seven years, it is hard for her not to be a little bold. Far from themore simple, elegant style she started with. Bright, jewel-tone colors that compliment and play off the color of her skin, complicated embroidery, statement jewelry pieces on her ears, around her neck, and wrists and horns and tail. But while it is bold and eye catching, it is allpainstakingly coordinated, so it’s visually interesting but not exhausting tolook at. She loves cute dresses with diaphanous layers, or travelling breaches andblouses so tight they might as well be a leotard, stuff she can move in, or runin, as needed. Even when she tries to dress simply, there’s plenty of embroideryor an innovative cut to her clothes.  Her brand-new armor, the one with the mithril weave, is a play off of one ofher old performance outfits. It’s a sort of bold teal, the blue and the greensmixing and changing along the fabric, which plays interestingly with the darkerindigo of her skin, and it’s embroidered along the tight bodice with gold. Thesleeves come down to a midshoulder and there’s a bit of flutter to them, andthere’s a bit of a half-skirt, more of a sash really, in a bold blue-green,also chased through with gold. That ends mid-thigh, revealing a pair ofleggings in a darker blue, which disappear into a set of boots she can walk in.It clashes a bit with the gem on her focus, but it works.  Poison: Vices/Bad Habits? What are they? How do they affect your OC?
Whisper has quite a few vices, yes. Drinking, quiteoften, the occasional drug, or spot of gambling, and sex. You know, all themajor ones.
I don’t think they’re too out of hand. While shedefinitely self-medicates with whiskey, and sex when there’s a willing partner, she isn’t necessarily dependent on them. Like, she hasn’t had a single drinksince boarding the Star Song, because drinking and the subsequent hangoverswould impede her ability to work on this spell. But they are the first thingshe turns to when she doesn’t want to deal with her emotions or with whatevertraumatizing thing just happened.
Contact:how does your OC feel about touch/physical contact? Are they affectionate? Ifso, ow do they display affection to others?
Whisper is very touchy; the circus she spent the lastfew years in was very, very close, and there was basically no such thing aspersonal space. While she knows other people aren’t usually as touchy as sheis, she definitely still gets in other people’s personal space quite often. Shehugs people, cuddles up next to them, jabs their arms and high fives and allsorts of things. No forehead kisses though, she thinks that might bemisconstrued. Or construed correctly, as the case may be.
Oriana:
Microscope:Zoom In: describe the little, insignificant details about your OC.
Oriana’s nose is small and slender, upturned at theend. Between that and the freckles that constellate across the bridge of hernose and along her cheekbones, she can almost be called cute, though she won’tthank you for saying it. Her eyes are gold, molten and dark towards the centerand lightening outwards. Her ears are ever so slightly pointed, barelynoticeable under the sable of her hair, even when her hair is pinned up and outof the way.She is shorter than most of the rest of the party, 5’ 4’’ or 5’ 5’’ on a goodday, but broad shouldered and well-muscled, with a little bit of a belly, whichno one ever sees because Oriana is rarely out of her armor, even if her newarmor clings a little more than she’s used to.
Mixtape:5 songs that describe your OCs, or songs they themselves would like.
Take Up Your Spade – Sara WatkinsWaking Up the Giants – GrizfolkNever One Thing – May ErlewineSpark – Backstage CastWhite Flag – Bishop Briggs
Hobby:What do they love? What captivates them? What are their passions?
Oriana has surprisingly few hobbies. She reads, a lot, about everything: copper dreadfuls to ent philosophy, to religious doctrines tohistorical texts. She loves the simple act of reading, of being transported, ofassimilating knowledge and understandingthings.
Stories are what really captivate her though: strongand vibrant heroines and the men who support them, toppling evil empires andmaking their worlds safe forever after.
She also likes to knit, though she hasn’t had a chanceto do that in a very long time. Yarn has been hard to come by recently.
Celandine:
PhotoAlbum: Describe one of your OC’s favorite memories:
Probably the first time she felt like the Lunch Bunchwere really her friends, and not just humoring her or setting her up to be meanto her later, all of them laughing together at their lunch table.
UFO:Identity! What are some of key identifying traits of your OCs? How do theyidentify in regards to gender/sexuality?
Celandine is a 13-year-old super genius, so her intelligenceand creativity, her inventions, are what she puts the most emphasis on. Sexualitywise, she’s 13, so she’s still exploring, but she’s definitely had crushes onboys and girls and enbies before, so she thinks she might be pan.
Interiors:Describe your OC’s bedroom/home/place they consider theirs? What’s in it? Docertain items have special significance to your OC?
Celandine’s room is a little small, even by gnomishstandards, made smaller by her insistence of having an entire workbench in herroom, stocked with tools and materials. Her bookshelf is full to bursting, withmore books stacked on top—fantasy novels intermingled with instruction manualsand text books—and on every other available surface, her projects are laid outin various stages of readiness. Half-finished music boxes balanced on herbooks, her armor on the bed, the heelies she’s working on the actual workbench, and whatever is currently taking her fancy balanced on her lap as she sits inalmost the perfect center of her room.
The only part of her room that’s clean is her dresserand her closet—she keeps that meticulous. Clothes are the last thing she wantsto worry about, so she makes it so she can just grab an acceptable outfit andgo in the morning.
The walls are covered in band posters and schematics, with the one from Kaylie’s last word tour pasted right above her bed. She doeslove music, so she, of course, has a radio that she “fixed” on her bedsidetable, and it is always on while she works.
Lyra:
Fragrance: What does your OC smell like?
Lyra doesn’t wear fragrance—perfumeheralds your arrival as much as an errant step can—and all her soaps arelikewise unscented. So she smells of the leather she wears (leather gloves, jerkin, boots), and the polish she uses on every one of her weapons after takingthem to the whetstone, and possibly, after spending so much time in the crow’snest and at the bow of the Star Song as it races through the skies, a littlebit like a strong headwind.
Parachute: who does your OC trust the most? Who makes themfeel safe? Who would they do absolutely anything for?
There are exactly 8 people in theworld Lyra trusts at all, 8 people she will drop everything to help if theyneed it. Her old party: Arannis, Cora, Atrauk and Haskell, Esssstefan, the Yuan-Tiwho taught her how to fly, Elissssabeth, Lucien, and the milliner who makes herhats in Kamery.
But it’s none of them individually thatmake her feel safe, though having her party at her back helped, as does Lucienwhen he brings her back from a panic attack. The first time she ever felt safeafter the catastrophe in Kamery was when she and her party took the airship upfor the first time. It’s probably the only time she feels safe at all, really, when they’re a thousand feet off the ground and the world below looks small andinsignificant, and she knows nothing down there can touch her.
Psyche: what’s their headspace like? Do they have any mentalillnesses? How do they process difficult or emotional situations? What aretheir coping mechanisms. Lyra’s headspace is… dark, for lack of a better word. Functional, but not muchelse. She spent quite a lot of her time scraping by on the streets of Kamery,in all kinds of deprivation before she was swept up by one of the more highprofile gangs as a sort of catchall, though her expertise was infiltration andtheft, and the occasional murder. She can manage to charm a pigeon into herhand for a small amount of time, but she is just as like to stab them as liftthe thing she needs from them.
Blackthorne tried to hone her into anunquestioning weapon in his arsenal, using pain and necessities as punishmentand reward, and mostly succeeded. The rest of the Magpies—Cyrene in particulartried remind her she was a person, but Lyra pretty much snapped when they alldied around her, killed at Blackthorne’s orders.
So basically, Lyra has some prettymajor PTSD and an inability to handle more complex emotions. So mostly shejust… doesn’t process them. She shoves them back into the recesses of her mindand tries to remain more or less emotionless. It doesn’t work, obviously, butshe has managed to make it so she doesn’t have emotional responses like onemight think. And they always come out in her nightmares and occasional panicattacks.
She’s gotten better since Lucien hascome into her life; forcing her to talk about them, just being at her back; halfof Lucien’s job is to play therapist after Lyra has a particularly bad episode. He keeps her from breaking apart into a million pieces.
Otherwise, Lyra meditates onoccasion, and keeps her skills sharp. She makes sure she’s never anywherewithout a weapon—which has become easier since she gained some magic of herown—and keeps daggers hidden all throughout her room. She counts them beforeshe goes to sleep, making sure that they’re able to be slid out of theirsheaths and be in her hand at a moment’s notice. And woe to the crewman whotries to slip into her room while she’s asleep without announcing themselves;their like to get a dagger in the eye for their trouble.
Maggie:
Conspiracy theory: what are your OC’sbeliefs? Are they skeptics or do they believe easily? Who acts on blind faith, who needs to see to believe?
Maggie’s relationship with religionis… complicated. It’s not that she doesn’t believe in Avacyn—she sees the magicpriests have, and she assume it has to come from somewhere—but she does distrustthe church, perhaps even the Goddess herself, and has a hard time believing thatthey have the people’s best interests at heart. After all, they’re in power now,and people in power very often will do anything to keep it.
Maggie does also tend to be a bit ofa skeptic, at least when it comes to people, but she knows magic can make quitea few things possible, and that the world is a complex place. Even seeingsomething doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s real. Shooting star: If your OC could have onewish, what would it be?
To see her father again.
Any:
Lighting: Who is the most impulsivecharacter? Who is their impulse control?
Honestly, I love impulsive characters? So more often than not my character is going to just say “fuck it” and do whatthey want. Basically because I have no impulse control myself. I think Az’ar andOriana might be the only charactersof mine who doesn’t give into their impulses more often than the do.
But of my other characters, I thinkWhisper, Lyra and Celandine might be the most impulsive. Whisper is held backby Thia and Oriana and her mother’s voice in her head, Celandine is pretty muchheld back exclusively by Caela (the poor girl), and right now Lyra doesn’t haveanyone to hold her back—maybe Lucien, but crew seems to be just as bad as sheis—she’s had to learn how to hold herself back, now that Arannis and Atrauk andCora aren’t around to council her to be careful.
Love note: who likes who? Crushes? Relationships? Are theymutual or unrequited?
I think of all my D&D characters,Wren is the only one who is actually in a relationship, and whose love is requited. In fact, finding Narissa, who was taken back to the Feywild, is her wholereason for going on this adventure.
Whisper expects her attraction to mostof the party is mutual—why wouldn’t they be attracted to her, she’s gorgeousand clever and an absolute delight—but the feelings she may or may not have forsome of them she expects are completely unrequited.
Celandine is 13 and has basically hadbrief crush on half the school, though her most enduring one is on KaylieShorthalt, who is also her favorite singer. Since Kaylie and Celandine areyears and years apart and have never actually met, it’s safe to say that’sunrequited.
Lyra has something for Arannis. She refusesto think about it and stubbornly tells herself that it’s just admiration andrespect and friendship, but even if it were mutual, Lyra would never let ithappen. Chess Board: who is the most logical? Orthe schemer/planner?
Az’ar, Lyra and Celandine are all schemers. They’ve all got plans for days, though Lyra less so than she used to. EvenWhisper has schemes of her own, though they’re mostly borrowed from Ignatius’play book. Az’ar is probably the most logical of them all though.
Wild card:
I stole this question from another askmeme, and, well, as someone who loves angst, I couldn’t resist:  Is your character afraid of death? Ifthey got to choose how to die, how would they want to go?
I think, of all my characters, onlyOriana is not scared of death to some extent or another. Az’ar is so terrifiedof it that she’d kill the god of death to secure immortality, and Whisper woulddo almost anything to avoid it herself, at least until her appointed time.
But Oriana would like to die inbattle, Whisper would prefer to die completing her mission, Maggie merely wantsto die ‘doing the right thing’, and I think Lyra has no preference. She’shonestly surprised she continues to breathe. But she expects to go down in ablaze of glory with the Star Song when the years finally catch up with her.
