3. i woke up with my hands in pain and did not embroider or sew today and the amount of times i thought "oh i could have brought my project after all" before remembering that my hands are not in pain because i stopped doing the thing that caused the pain truly qualifies me for the Golden Clown Nose

couple days ago I was talking with my partner about the way anime was brought over and localized in latin-america in the 80s and 90s. and how the fact that 80s rock over here had such similar vibes and compositions to the 80s j-rock that was used for anime openings at the time made it easier to localize those openings directly, with talented latin-american singers and songwriters, instead of doing what America did and changing the songs completely. and why that left us with anime opening songs that were just as good (if not better in some cases) than the originals.

anyway, that's not the point of the post. the point is that we were watching some of these openings and listening to the music, and at one point the thought occurred to me:

"Huh, two of my favorite anime from when I was a kid were about bad-tempered redheads who only cared about money and scamming people."

(said characters being Lina Inverse from Slayers and Mikami from Ghostsweeper Mikami.)

and then my partner laughed and said: "... I wasn't going to mention it, but it definitely crossed my mind, yeah."

anyway they're both great. I even have a little Lina charm on my phone.
