My name is Kate (she/her), and I’m a 22 y/o artist. I’ve had a deep appreciation and love for animals my entire life, and so naturally my artwork revolves around them. I want to create things that bring me joy, with a touch of fantasy, and the occasional bit of spooky as well :D

hello anon! i am a gifmaker on tumblr dot com. as a gifmaker, i highly advocate for piracy, because how else am i getting files to make my gifs? disney has been an extremely damaging corporation since before recent events and honestly, it will continue to be so. i do not advocate giving any money to them, i certainly have not, and i will (as i have in the past) provide links to people who ask me where i find shows. what rubs me up the wrong way entirely is you acting like we as gifmakers are like advertisers showing off a product, instead of actual people just sharing something we enjoy with other fans. there a thousand other people you should channel this energy towards who have actively made deals with disney and contribute to disney's income (one of them is trending right now!) instead of focusing on gifmakers on a dying website.

Magui’s father is an abuser, who she still openly supports. He is a urologist so he knows exactly where a kidney is and he kicked an old lady in the kidney because she complained about the houses noise. He also punched a family member who took the story to the press. Thank you. I didn’t know any of this and the other message did come across as slightly misleading and somewhat rude but thank you for explaining. In my other post I wasn’t saying she wasn’t a bad person, I was stating how calling someone ugly when they’re not because you don’t like them isn’t the right thing to do, but damn, someone get this girl away from Lando, she sounds horrible.

we're not really sure how to articulate this, but it just occurred to us that our punning is some kind of mutant survival tactic - the ability to spot patterns in things and then play with them to provoke humour feels like (in us anyway) it has hypervigilance at its core, and we notice that in times when we're more anxious, the urge to pun on every damn thing is fierce and needs to be heavily filtered

for context, we're having a lot of nightmares at the moment, and scrolling through tumblr, we've probably started and suppressed well over a dozen puns in the last hour - it definitely scratches some mental itch but we have thank goodness some discernment about how much a pun might be inappropriate or derail a serious post or simply not be funny to most people who aren't going to feel the (to us obvious) link between three things that it being funny depends on, so we let them go a lot

anyway this is to say once again, we know some of our puns are good and some are the product of a mind under strain and we thank you for appreciating the one and putting up with the other ☀️🌿

thinking about super physically affectionate clingy yet quiet link and him leaning into revali when he's tired, or curling up in revali's lap with his face in revali's neck to take a nap, without a single word.

it startles revali a lot at first when link just at random just starts grabbing his hand only to intertwine their fingers, link tracing the feathers and then pulling revali's hand up to his face to press a kiss to the back of it, his eyes shut. or link pushing him down into the cushions only to seat himself within revali's folded lap, head against revali's chest as he fidgets and fiddles with revali's scarf. or link coming up from behind to wrap his arms around revali's midsection, pressing soft kisses down revali's spine.

"you hylians are so touchy," revali mumbles one night, when they're lying together in their shared hammock. link is wrapped around him, intertwining his legs with revali's, and he drags his pointer finger through revali's feathers, drawing shapes into his chest. link only hums at him in response, and shifts so that he's more comfortable against revali. his legs tighten around revali's, as though he plans to keep the rito shackled to him forever. revail only wraps a wing around him and brushes his beak through the top of link's hair.

"you're not pushing me away though," link says. link's voice is soft and drowsy, but revali can feel it humming under his skin.

"like i could if i tried," revali responds in similar volume. "you've wrapped yourself so closely to me, we'll merge into one being at this point." but link is right; if he truly didn't enjoy this, he'd have thrown link into lake totori now.

"wish we could," link murmurs. revali hums in question, prompting link to continue. "wanna be so close to you i'm practically under your skin."

"that won't be necessary. you already get under my skin plenty." link snorts and shifts against him again, revali shifting in response to accommodate link's new position. they're quiet again for a couple more moments before link speaks.

"do you really not like it?" his songbird whispers, hushed and timid. revali frowns. he doesn't like it when link doubts him, or this bond between them. he wraps his other wing around link and the little hylian snuggles deeper into him automatically, sighing quietly.

"i'd have figured you more astute than this," revali says. "this... manner of affection you favor is not something i'm accustomed to, but it doesn't mean it's unpleasant. it's... nice, to be honest."

"so it's okay? you're okay with this?" link murmurs.

"i'm more than fine with it," revali replies. "what made you think i wasn't?"

he feels link shift to hide his face in revali's chest. "dunno," link mumbles. "i always do it without saying anything. thought you were just putting up with me..."

revali's feathers prickle and rise, and his frown deepens. in a swift fluid movement, he grabs his mate by his hips and pulls him up. link yelps, grabbing onto revali's arms. "w-wait, revali, the hammock—"

"the hammock is strong enough to hold the both of us," revali says, and seats link atop him so that his mate is straddling his lap, and his hands settle on link's waist. "so don't doubt it, like you're doubting me right now." link flushes and his ears droop, just slightly. cute.

"i wasn't doubting you—" link starts, but revali cuts him off with a slight shake of his head.

"you were," revali asserts and his voice leaves no room for argument, because it's true. link stares down at him, guilty and insecure. revali hates it. "i can't control what goes on in that stubborn head of yours, but don't doubt me. don't doubt this, what we have. i chose you, all of you, what you are, what you do, what you offer. i'll gladly receive it all, because it's you."

link's breath catches. "revali..."

but revali shakes his head and pulls lightly on link's waist. "that's enough thinking for you tonight," he says. "come back to me and continue with your touchy inclinations. i'm rather fond of it now."

so link with that ever so familiar wide, blue-eyed gaze tentatively leans back down and wraps himself around revali's body again, as they were before, his face buried in the space between revali's neck and head and his breath beginning to even out. revali envelops his clingy songbird in his wings, nuzzling the side of link's face with his eyes shut, beginning to drift to sleep himself, but he needs to make himself clear before either of them drift too far.

"i love you," revali murmurs against link's skin. "goddesses know why you ever doubted it, but i do and i always will. if you wish to possess me, my body is yours to command as you please. if you wish to woo me, my heart has already been infatuated with you for far longer than you've realized you desired me too. my very soul and my entire being belong to you now, for as long as you will it to be."

link doesn't say anything more, but revali can feel his little jewel hug him tighter. "i chose you," revali whispers. "please remember that. i chose to be with you, for the rest of my life. i'm not letting go of you so soon, so please don't let go of me either."

they both grow quiet after that, and revali thinks link has already fallen asleep when—

"i won't," link whispers back. "i won't let you go. i'm all yours too, revali, i love you too."

revali coos lowly in response, holding link a little tighter in his arms. "good. if it's my skin you wish to be in, then it's yours to live under. i wouldn't have it any other way. now, go to sleep. your mind runs circles around itself like a hylian retriever if left without the careful hand of a trainer, like myself."

"whatever," link snorts, but he shifts and squirms and nestles himself under revali's chin until he's comfortable again, until his breathing evens out. only then does revali relax, wings still wrapped firmly around his sweet little songbird, and lets sleep claim him too.

Gerudo Height in BotW

NOTE: This is all approximation based on theory, done because simply eyeballing heights wasn't enough for me and I wanted an answer that could at least be explained.

I'll get straight to the point- this started because my fixation on BotW returned and I decided I needed to know Urbosa's height; looking it up rewarded me with poor results, so I decided to find it myself and I spiraled from there. Here we go:

To start, I need a solid metric to measure her height by, as well as something to compare her to. In comes this video by The Bread Pirate, in which he calculates Link's height and comes to the conclusion that he is 5'2", or 1.584 meters. This is perfect, because it just so happens that Link and Urbosa are depicted together on equal level in Memory #15 and that means I can use him to find her height through comparison.

(I had to cut Mipha out from between them for this, rip)

I tried to approximate their heights as accurately as possible, excluding the added height of their hair because. Well. Hair doesn't count. Which is also why in the video, Link was measured in the radiant mask, which flattens his hair.

Now, The Bread Pirate utilizes the BotW memory editor to convert Link's height in in-game pixels to meters, and I can't do that here. So, alternative methods with a common metric have to be used. As seen in the above image, I measured both Link and Urbosa's height from the bottom of their feet to roughly the top of their heads, in red and blue. The black and white lines beside those serve to count each pixel of the lines more clearly, with an added line for Urbosa's heels, which will be subtracted from her total height later. As you can see, Link reaches 122 pixels tall, Urbosa is 175 pixels, and Urbosa's heels are 6 pixels. For simplicity's sake, I'll be measuring height in meters for the math and converting it to feet + inches for those who need it at the end. To find Urbosa's height, we have to find the height of each pixel. For this, we rely on Link's assumed height of 1.584 meters.

1.584 divided by Link's pixel height count, 122, equals 0.01298360655. This means that in this instance, 1 pixel = 0.01298360655 meters.

With that in mind, if Urbosa is 175 pixels tall, then Link's pixel height subtracted from that would give them a 53 pixel difference. 53 pixels, or 0.68813114754 meters.

Link's height of 1.584 meters + their difference of 0.68813114754 meters = 2.27213114754 meters, Urbosa's total height in the above image.

Now, her heels are 6 pixels tall, or 0.0779016393 meters. This, subtracted from her total height, equals 2.19422950824 meters.

So, in simpler terms, Urbosa is roughly:

2.272 meters / 7'5" in heels. 2.194 meters / 7'2" without heels.

That's super tall! Except...

This got me thinking. I assumed all Gerudo adults except elders used very similar base models and were therefore all the same height, so this was all for the fun of ignoring nintendo's convenient game development method of reusing models to treat each character like an individual, but could they be different heights?

To my surprise, the answer is yes!

Using the same method I did with Urbosa, I approximated the following (heels subtracted from all):

Buliara: 2.315 meters / 7'7"

Guard: 2.112 meters / 6'11"

Avg. Gerudo: 2.019 meters / 6'7"

I left out elderly Gerudo because they're all signifigantly hunched over, making it impossible to get an accurate measurement, as well as Gerudo children, because I'm lazy.

(Side note, that'd make the Gerudo at the bar REALLY tall by their standards. Her in-game model is the same height as other average Gerudo around town, but I'm taking her word on being 8'0" for the sake of maintaining something that is definitively canon lol)

Now, there's just one last thing to mention: Traysi's estimation of average Gerudo height.

No, pretty sure that's much taller than the average Gerudo, I don't even have to do the math. also that's a cactus not a tree

Anyway. I went into this just wanting to know how tall Urbosa was and ended up doing a lot more math than originally intended to find the heights of other Gerudo too. Worth it tbh.

last week's lab was so incredibly short and simple that i'm, like, staring at my lab notebook notes like, "is this it? is this really it?" because the experimental section of the report is literally 221 words and three paragraphs long.

#we made an ester but my only notes on the scent are 'crude product has rather strong unpleasant smell' #and 'washing glassware with water --> smells like almond jello' #like not even regular almonds it smelled Specifically like the almond jello from the mix you get at the asian grocery store #i'm also sensitive to strong scents so i also was like. deliberately trying not to smell things too closely #it's kind of funny bc i was also like. the first person in the lab to identify the smell they were like 'hey hua smell this' #n i was like 'ohhh that's familiar' n they were like 'i know right??' n we were like. but what could it be. #somehow i unlocked those memories of cooking as a child n i was like 'ohmygod *almond jello*' n they were like 'OMG YOU'RE RIGHT' #花話 #anyway i also found a spectra database that is Not wiley spectrabase #(by which i mean that i went poking around the resources the prof has posted on the canvas n saw he linked to one) #so this means i can finally do those hnmr and cnmr spectra analyses! holy fuck!! #wiley spectrabase is my archest of archenemies because it doesn't!! let me see the spectra!!!!!!!!!!! #n like i Tried to go digging around for others but although i know of Some ways to find obscure but reliable data sites #i just Could Not find any others bc modern search engines are shiet #(but also it's kind of on me for not poking around the canvas a bit more myself lol)

I don't remember if they changed this at some point) #so you could also usually (I think..?? again.. if I'm rmembering correclty) you could get to someone's facebook profile #from the comments section sometime. I used to watch stuff and then scroll down to see what The Masses were saying and sometimes #someone's comment would be so strange I'd like.. go investigate them as a person #see what type of posts they make on their personal facebook which was always way too public with none of their information #privated of course lol

if you happen to be one of the three people who saw the post i made about the play i saw my freshman year of college, where i glomped onto a certain character, then i hope you're happy to hear that i got to see the guy who played that character and graduated two years ago again yesterday! he came to mc for the acapella event i posted about. i grabbed him right after the show ended to tell him that a) i remembered his performance in that show from four years ago, b) it's good to see he's doing well, and c) theater at our college has been bouncing back since he left (specifically citing our hamlet production and the incredibly talented freshmen who led the show).

i didn't mention my name cause it wouldn't mean anything to him (we were in chorale together, but that was mostly over zoom). it was just good to see him, and he seemed to appreciate the stuff i shared with him. human interaction is worth it sometimes :)

#i'm sad that he and my friend who directed the show never got to introduce themselves to each other #especially because i forgot to mention that our production was student directed #but he might have known that already? because when i mentioned the show to him he was like #''oh yeah. [x] (the freshman who played laertes) was in that right? i taught him for a little while! :)'' #(the guy teaches high schoolers now apparently) #and i. wasn't expecting that! #i suppose life has a way of circling back like that if you know where to look - and who to talk to #on a semi-related note: it was funny going back to find that post i linked above #and seeing past me say that play might be my favorite non-musical piece of theater #not cause i think the show was bad in retrospect (though i haven't really revisited it in a couple of years) #but because of all the plays i've read for classes since then #well. one in particular. #i don't have to say it. y'all know. :)

I used to really love watching those videos, enough that i lost interest in homestuck when u stopped posting them (was never really into homestuck apart from ur vids tho lol) anyway i wanted to ask if those videos are still around anywhere since i cant find them on ur utube channel? Here is a preliminary Hikari, and Samo's big brother! He has also escaped his genre, and he is not aware that most of the things he says sound incredibly threatening! Although only Hikari seems to notice anyway. (Luckily for Hikari, he really is a nice guy!)
