In other words, I'm pretty much convinced that the reason Pharma is remembered as "the evil cowardly doctor that murdered innocents to save his own skin" instead of "the Autobot that got mindbroken by Tarn into thinking that making a plague and killing everyone was his only way to escape" is because he got introduced before the DJD were established as a pants-shittingly evil and sadistic group of freaks, and unlike Rodimus' crew he didn't have the luxury of being a main character whose thoughts and experiences were shown on screen. Pretty much his reputation as "crazy token evil Autobot" was sealed from MTMTE #5 and by the time MTMTE #50-something brought Dying of the Light, Pharma was a footnote in the story and never got to have this new information about the terror of the DJD factored into his own character.

i will not accept changheng slander/compliments about how he'll sacrifice his love for his duty when halfway through the second act he raises both middle fingers to duty and walks backwards into hell-dimension jail, only to then break out of jail, take himself completely out of commission and leave his people with no real defense against the enemy, and then follow that up with trying to taunt his brother into killing him because without love he doesn't want to live. this man is insane. Both lanhua and dongfang qingcang struggle significantly more with duty vs. love! Even before Changheng rebels completely he's less prioritizing his duty and more aware that if his brother catches wind of his feelings he's going to start looking for excuses to permakill the object of his affections. He's planning on breaking up with his fiancée if he can ever find her! He lowkey thinks at least half of the people who rely on him wouldn't be much of a loss and is probably willing to let the rest of them burn if he really has to. He's not Ronghao so he's probably not going to be the one setting them on fire but Ronghao is 100% correct that they are in fact very similar people.

Reed would probably forget about the plant & accidentally kill it if it’s indoors. He can handle pets & by default kids, but he strongly prefers pets.

Mercy would be able to handle all of the above. she usually grows various herbs & other medicinal plants whenever she stays in one place for a longer period of time, & she brings two mutated horses with her when she heads east.

11: They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save?

Reed would argue that he’s saving some of it, but he’d 100% spend most(if not all) of it.

Mercy would have two options: she’s spending a small portion on something frivolous and saving the rest, or she’s gambling with it to try and win more.

14: Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?

I don’t think Mercy would really agree with the term. She doesn’t really feel guilty about it but her tendency to buy fancier prewar/prewar styled clothes & higher end leather goods, jewelry, etc would probably fall in that category.

I don’t know that Reed would really have much of an opinion on the term. He’s in kind of a weird spot where he has some religious trauma & tends to feel a bit guilty about a lot of things. He’d probably say it’s chems, but he’s also usually self-medicating so I don’t know if that even counts.

29: What recurring dreams do they have?

Mercy’s only consistent ones typically either involve memories from when she was caught by Benny’s gang & shot, or they get into her old fear of being caught by the Enclave. Either way, both are very rare occurances and they don’t really bother her much now.

Reed has a few that just depend on where he’s at timeline-wise. Early on he frequently has dreams about being stuck in the cryo pod. After the whole glowing sea mission ordeal he starts having dreams about losing teeth, skin, limbs, etc etc on top of the cryo ones. & after defecting from the BOS, he has a lot of dreams involving certain people in the BOS he knew that were killed- these ones usually aren’t graphic, but he did have some close friends there and he has a lot of guilt over their deaths.

JAFSDOPFIMADSPOFIAJSDFAODSPFF OKAY OKAY so i'm gonna start this off with i wrote a 9.4k word fanfic about them which started as a little joke. uhm. its not a joke anymore. i have part two in the works but its taking a back burner to my kaokana wip but ANYWAY MADASHU MADASHU

putting this under a cut bc i know it is going to get long. i know that they dont have a tonnnnn of canon interactions and i am not reading ahead on !! stories more than summaries like i know they have interactions in the antique show story and i've heard about it but i tried not to reference it too in detail in my fic so it tentatively takes place between the double face introduction event and that.

i asked my friend kiki how she would describe them and she just said "big sweet energetic teddy bear with emotional trauma mama and. and shu 😭" but i think they both have a lot of issues with their family that manifest in different ways with madara being more outgoing and trying to find anyone who will take him in and shu is more prone to cutting himself off so they play off that a lot in my head.

madara is also close with kanata and rei who are close with shu so there is that connection and he was taken in by the eccentrics in high school when everyone else rejected him and and and. and he loves them soooooo much they loved and accepted him when nobody else would and he stood up for them against eichi and even if at the time shu and madara didnt really speak i think that stuck with both of them too? like.

i have a wip folder on my google drive literally called the madashu cinematic universe full of half baked wips of things kiki and i talk about in dms bc i do not have another outlet for this i dont even know how to describe it???? like shu needs to be appreciated for what he does and madara is full of love and appreciation and madara needs someone who will ground him when things get rough and tell him its okay and shu. well shu is getting better at that but honestly they have such a hard time communicating at first bc of shu's tendency to talk at people sometimes but its okay its okay they are working on that together.

also shu pushes madara to be more open about his feelings instead of putting on his happy-go-lucky mask all the time especially with kanata and rei and it helps that shu also has a mask on to cover up his true feelings. do you get what im saying. i feel like i am spewing nonsense but all of this makes sense. to me.
