Just thinking about when Patrick and David are at their car about to leave for the Hike and Patrick says "trust me, you're gonna love this" because he's going to propose to him 🥺🥺🥺

god just remembering the first time I watched that and having No Idea what was coming. I think they set it up so well in terms of David being ridiculous on the hike up, complaining, looking at his eBay bids, and Patrick getting increasingly frustrated with him. the way David showed up for Patrick, had the hand sanitizer (which I 100% think was in the same pocket as the rings so Patrick couldn’t just tell him where it was), and literally carried him up a mountain was lovely. a beautiful metaphor for their relationship, how David will set aside his petulance to comfort Patrick, to grab a hold of Patrick when he get’s inside his head, when his plans go sideways, and lift him up. carrying him towards their future together.
