I personally don't think that would be a question for a traditional tarot deck. You may be able to get it out of an oracle deck but I wouldn't ask it of a tarot deck.

To this I add:  

22 is the number of precision, balance, and harmonious purpose.  The word "duality" has been very present for me lately, popping up in all different places on a daily basis; both the word and the concept. I even made note of it in my diary a few days ago as one of the repeating signs I've been receiving. It's certainly something I've been dealing with on a personal level for some time, as I move through the difficult process of healing what has been the collected deep trauma of my 3-D existence - and not just my own, but also working through past life karma and ancestral trauma which is stored in our DNA. To heal that pain in my body, mind and spirit and move back into the light to an all new ascended plane has been a hell of a ride and it's not over yet - but of all the lessons I have integrated into my being, the necessity of not only facing my own darkness, but accepting, understanding and learning to transmute the dark into light has been the greatest spiritual lesson of all.  

This, I believe, is the primary lesson and mission for all Lightworkers. Heal yourself to heal humanity. Dark to Light. Fear to Love. Shift the balance. Spread the word.

So what does it mean in terms of yin/yang?  With recent lockdowns, income losses, restrictions of freedoms previously taken for granted, and other collective trauma the 3-D world feels very much out of balance right now. A seemingly endless stream of "conspiracy theories" abound that may or may not have truth to them - to what degree, who really knows? What I do know is the current state of affairs and confusion about what is real is making a lot of people angry and fearful about what is going on in the world "below the surface". The truth is almost impossible to uncover as we are constantly bombarded with red herrings and disinformation, which only feeds the chaos. Friends are fighting (and losing) friends, political divisions are widening, the system as we know it is breaking down - which is not such a bad thing, but with it comes pain and discord.  

By the same token, many who were not previously in the light, have taken this time out to slow down and are going back to basics. Not feeding on the fear, tuning into their "receptive" nature and going with the flow. The earth is healing without us stomping all over it, and people who were former slaves to the system are realising that previous societal constructs were damaging to us all. It just wasn't working. There is more need for balance. The fact that so many people have woken up to this need in such a short space of time - and I'm not dismissing for a moment those who have experienced tragic loss and hardship - is nothing short of miraculous - yet obviously all part of the cosmic plan. Seeds are being sown for our ascension, both literally and metaphorically.  

These times can be intense and hard to stomach - as is the nature of dark forces, but that there are more people than ever before awakening and shining their light is a sign that as out-of-whack as everything may seem, and as far as the future is unknown, it is all happening to bring the world back into a form of balanced duality. Yin/yang.  

I, for one, am hopeful for the future of humanity and earth as a whole.  Let us restore the balance ♥

Mid-week message

“Have faith, as everything is working in your favor.”

The fairies are here with me today, with some advice and a touch of soothing.

One might assume this would be solidly regarding a persons hopes or wishes - which is true - however, I feel this is a soothing message also, to those who are experiencing troubles. Reminds me of the number 222 - a sign that things are working out for the best in the end.

I want to personally say well done to you for focusing on maintaining positive thinking, and trying to find at least small things to be grateful for. Not only is it helpful to bringing in new energy, but it simply creates a more harmonious mood for you in the present. It’s important to feel good in some way, where you stand - however you can manage.

If you have been practising affirmations, taking action towards a goal, or trying to manifest something into your life - it is working! Take heart! Keep at this and the change(s) you are seeking will slowly show themselves to you.

There is advice currently to try and speak only with kindness or positivity. Criticism or complaining can have a prolonged effect on our mood, our expectations and reactions around us which can compile. This is not to shame, as this acts as a simple mirror. One thing that I have personally found helpful in cases like these, (especially if it is difficult to look on the “bright side”) is to speak in hopeful terms.

For example if you find it difficult to say: “My project will be immensely successful” at first, you can say “I hope my project does really well!”. In terms of LOA, I enjoy using that as it takes expectations and judgements away and gives some room to go up the “emotional staircase”.

This is besides the point. 

Another big step for achieving what you are desiring, is to build your self recognition, as it is far too easy to compare ourselves. It can open up our minds, hearts, expectations and of course, energy.

If you go out into nature, you do not compare the trees, saying one is less valuable than another. If you notice them, you marvel at the way one has branches that twist just-so. You notice how interesting one is with all that moss. You love how one bears fruit, and another that has such beautiful leaves. Every single tree, every flower, every leaf - is individual and fascinating. Never do you find yourself judging one imperfect.

You are your own valuable, interesting, unique person with traits and gifts that can never be found elsewhere. That is a joy! So sing your unique tune and let yourself be in your own rhythm once more. That’s where you do best!

If you are finding yourself to be different than those around you, do not worry, as I feel that you will attract like minded people simply by being yourself. Keep expressing yourself and be unashamed - as long as it is not harming anyone, there is no true issue.

1 to 3 Card Reading - $1 per card

4 to 7 Card Reading - $1 per card + $1

8 to 12 Card Reading - $1 per card + $2

13+ Card Reading – message me. tarot readings’ complexity increases exponentially with every card added. Over 12, these readings are most likely going to be several pages worth of writing.

Celtic Cross - $15

Adding a clarification card to any readings is +$1

Per Card - $1

ASTROLOGY

Full Natal Chart Reading (includes planets, houses, ascendant/descendent, IC and MC, and major aspects. this will be several pages long.) - $15

     Asteroids, imaginary planets, and other additional placements are+1/each

     All minor aspects will be read as well for +$2

     Decans will be read for +$1 per placement OR +$5 for the whole chart

     Special requests (i.e. housing systems other than placidus, sidereal charts) can be requested and may or may not effect pricing. We’ll talk over your specific wishes and work out a price that works for both of us. 

Persona Charts (includes planets, houses, angles, and aspects) - $10

Stellium Reading - $3

Transit Reading - $15

Synastry (two people’s charts read in conjunction with each other, like a relationship chart. this will include 3 relevant asteroids of your choice like Lilith or Lust, all planets and houses, and all aspects.) - $25

Other questions, chart types, or readings – message me! I can read a lot of astrological things big and small. If you’re wanting a specific reading (i.e. “I’d love a reading of my personal planets only, sidereal!”) or want to know something specific (i.e. “Can you tell me about a reading about how I love?” which would involve several planets, houses, aspects, and asteroids, but less than a natal chart), all you have to do is ask. I’ll negotiate the terms and price!

SCRYING

Per Question - $3-5, depending on complexity. These readings will be several paragraphs per question.

TERMS OF SERVICE

1. I reserve the right to decline a request for a reading for any reason.

2. I will never share any of your personal information (i.e. birthplace given to me for your natal chart) with others except where required by law.

3. Prices may vary based on specific circumstances (i.e. special requests, difficult questions, etc.) If this is the case, it will be discussed with the client before accepting payment.

4. If for any reason, you are unsatisfied with my work, you may request an adjustment (i.e. a little more detail on one of the planets, a little more elaboration on an aspect, etc.) within reason, but there will be no refunds.

PAYMENT

This is very important, so be sure to read carefully. The money will not be going to me. Upon agreement of price, I will pick a charity for you to send the money to and give you a link to where you can do so. If you’d prefer not to donate to said charity for any reason, you may request I pick another. I WILL research/vet these charities ahead of time. I will never ask you to donate to a charity with any evidence of discrimination or hate. These charities may include things along the lines getting clean water for Flint, AIDS/HIV research, suicide hotlines, and similar humanitarian purposes.

Okay, so let’s talk as if the cards were trying to describe this person as well as the “union” and we’ll remember genders don’t matter on the cards. For me, okay so let’s start with the 10 of wands which clarified with World and 9 of cups. I feel strongly this is connected to Queen and Martyr. If you look at the - well you can’t see it - but in the Manga tarot’s deck with the World, someone is carrying the world on their shoulder. Queen is someone of authority or in control, and Martyr is about providing a service, so if you put all of those together, this makes me imagine someone who has the personality of or is in a career in which they are in charge of important things, like, possibly even have other’s lives in their hands. In my head, I imagine a doctor, nurse, police officer, fire fighter, military, EMT. But, it could also represent someone who FEELS or will feel at the time that you meet that the world rests on their shoulder. Nine of cups does sort of imply career to me, because that’s someone’s hopes and dreams, so if you were aspiring to be any of the above-type careers. This makes me think they’d be a very busy person, and I saw 2 of pentacles later when I was trying to understand why Lovers was reversed, so this might also come up as an issue - where they will have to juggle their career/hobby/lifestyle with a relationship. Plus the world card is ruled by Saturn and Saturn is usually associated with a career, but it could also apply some type of “restriction” or heaviness around their goal, but that just fits with the juggling of romantic stuff and work because you’re “limited” on where you apply your happiness - to the job you love or your partner?

That’s my interpretation anyway. Knight of Cups was at the back of the deck, King of Wands was back for clarifying deck - both are in similar positions, looking intensely to the left (or past, even). A knight of cups focuses on the cup (love), the King of Wands, well, they might be focused more on career if I’m honest, and both the knight of cups and king of wands can be... fickle? I don’t know that it applies here - it could just be they may be a mix of water and fire. If they were wanting to be a civil right’s lawyer or something important like that, um, it could be that they are younger and still in the midst of studying or at the early stage of their career, but aspire to be someone who is this inspirational leader like the king of wands. For me, both would be people who represent someone... interesting, in tune with their emotions to start - but I guess the difference is, you know, a school boy with a crush vs a business man with a company and a lot of charisma and charm... so maybe this person will grow into that or is a combination of those qualities. It would make sense that someone who wants to “save” others would have a lot of empathy and emotions - but it leads to them becoming kind of a big deal... it’s almost - in my mind - cups represent passion, usually romantic or emotional/sentimental, and it’s almost as if that grows into the King and I see the King surrounded by even stronger flames as time goes on. I guess this could also relate to their feelings (for you) that they grow over time from something sweet and crush-like to PASSION.

That would make sense for me because of these love oracles and also the Lovers in reverse. Lovers are not just lovers, it’s about inner harmony (when reversed), balance, or... often choice, or communication. Both of the oracles talk about getting to know your partner and supporting their passions, so with Lovers reversed, one thing could be that a lot of communication will be required in this relationship, especially if one person is very busy, like, you’ll have to work out how you feel about them spending so much time on studies or whatever they’re passionate about and instead of being upset by that, possibly a solution will be to... learn more about what they do/like so that you can support what they do rather than feel shut out by it or feel like you come second, etc...

But let’s talk about the second card first, which was knight of wands - I would guess this person does have a bit of fire here. The knight of wands tends to be impulsive, creative, passionate. He can be romantic, too, he’s spontaneous - he can be fickle like the knight of cups, but I see this more as someone who is very devoted to what they’re interested in as long as they remain interested, lol. And it was clarified by Justice (which I saw a lot), I don’t know if it means they have Libra in their chart, but we already talked about that this person is probably driven toward some type of goal that involves fairness, justice, equality - they seem to be very passionate about that. They could have Libra in a (fire) fiery planet like Mars in Libra or Jupiter in Libra, etc...  I definitely feel a strong sense of justice, almost to the point of tunnel vision. They might also travel a lot or enjoy traveling or have to travel for work - like this person could be in Peace Corps or doctors without borders or some type of charity work, even Meals on Wheels, etc...  Now let’s talk about why maybe the Lovers was reversed... so it was clarified by Tower and 8 of pentacles... sometimes if a card is reversed I pay attention to not just the reversed meaning but that it’s focused on either the future or past, so this is pointed in the direction of the past - Tower can represent Aries energy, and, well, it’s not a great card because it’s about some type of breakdown of something that was built up or a foundation... and paired with the 8 of pentacles, that card is often about skill or learning or work. 

This could be - again - representing someone whose work will involve saving people from disaster - so again I feel that EMT/police/EMERGENCY medical type of worker. I’m drawn more toward emergency than just general physician - this feels like heavy disaster urgent energy, even a like a 911 operator (not sure what it is in other countries) but you get the idea...  I guess it could even be therapist since lovers reversed could be about inner mental stuff but a 911 operator is someone who could keep someone calm in an emergency.

That person has this type of leadership energy. I don’t see them as an earth sign, I just see them (I mean to say their energy isn’t CALM) though I think they do have a level of dead-seriousness when it comes to whatever this is they focus on... I guess another way to read that in terms of a career is divorce attorney, ha...  so let’s talk about Cleanse. “Wash your weary spirit clean and take a walk in the wooded glades.” see I see this again as relating to someone who has a very heavy or stressful or emotionally draining job so this is related to their need to be able to cleanse their mind after work. Maybe I’m being dramatic and they’re just going through an extremely stressful period in life rn, like law school or medical school... when we’re so stressed and working at something and it’s demanding of our energy and time, it can feel as heavy as the careers I’m describing. But, I definitely feel they are in charge of something that is like a heavy burden and they get stressed and it requires their time and they are probably responsible for the well being of others in some way. 

But those two love oracles show couples who are very close and embracing and they seem to be talking and having a good time - my advice in seeing all of this is to... it’s a connection that would need to move slowly and if you aren’t willing to allow them their time to what they need to for their goal - this wouldn’t be a good connection for you (if you are very needy when it comes to constant attention and needing to be put first). If you understand how big this is to them and if you feel comfortable within yourself that you’d be okay if they have to put a lot of time into this, then great. They are clearly very amazing. You will need to spend that time getting to know them, ask about their hobbies, understand why they are passionate about that line of work. I think showing genuine interest in all of that would be very pleasing to them. They are - for me - very responsible, feel a responsibility to protect others, they are probably used to being in charge or taking control - I don’t feel in a bad way, they’re just one of those people who has always stepped up to the plate, they are a natural born leader. I think they are very devoted to some type of cause, I think they’d also be a devoted lover and partner and that protection would be extended to you. I also feel like they are well-mannered... hmm like I don’t know what gender you’re interested in or if it’s multiple but whatever that word would be for chivalry across genders. I mean, I know some very chivalrous lesbians, but I guess I want to say they take on the “masculine” role in a relationship where I think they want to take charge and protect, etc... that’s an energy that applies to all genders, depending on the person. In this matyr card with this dude flying... I mean I see the roses which make me think of knight of cups but I actually see this as you and being drawn to that quality of them - their desire to protect and help people and to take charge or to be service-oriented, this might also indicate their love language is acts of service, too. I wonder if in the past they did have one really bad relationship... it could even be that... this person will be divorced or... this could be someone from your past that you dated and they want to rebuild and try again (that’s the tower/8 of pentacles/lovers) I’m looking at to give various interpretations... lovers reversed could be ex lovers (you or a previous relationship bc the lovers card as i said is also facing the past) and then tower is usually something falling apart bt 8 of pentacles is about building something up. so however you can interpret that, or it can be a breakdown in communication or something related to an (inner) harmony and then attempting to repair it... but like I said it could also be about a desire around this career where this person may save lives, etc...

let me put away the clarifiers and just stare at the original tarot. you know what’s interesting too is how the lovers card looks a lot like those love fairy oracles... if the lovers were upright and the figure with the arm raised in the center of the card... that figure looks like the women in the love oracles... but lovers came out reversed, so - I guess what I read from that comes back to... the love oracles being the advice for any difficulty like I said before - about taking the time to get to know and understand each other (through communication) to be supportive and understand one another or else that may result in some hiccups. in the be supportive it’s interesting bc the wings are hiding the moon and in the lovers there’s not sure if it’s the sun... but it could be seen as a moon too... or it could be about the sun and moon, perhaps a well balanced masc/fem relationship in terms of energy and that an speak to “harmony” and balance which is what the lovers card can be about...  so I think there is a level of understanding between/for both of you that will come of this and it will be a very mature and serious relationship for you regardless of how long it lasts. I see this as a relationship in which you learn how to be a supportive and patient partner and don’t necessarily only think about yourself and your needs but come to understand how an adult couple in a relationship works. like yeah we’re in college and there’s not a lot of maturity to that type of relationship often but this is like okay now we’re both adults so we can’t have childish tantrums when we don’t get our way, we have to understand we’re individuals who have our own lives and we have to support EACH OTHER and not just think only of our wants and needs and IF issues arrise, then we need to talk and communicate and support and understand. I do think you’ll travel together, though. I feel like you’ll have something in common... this could be because elements in your chart match up, especially a water or air sign placement - you’ll both share these or they’ll be complementary. like both being air moons or like water venuses. And there is a lot of air-fire-water here, but mostly air-fire. I think there will be a spiritual connection here or if not literally so that you two just vibe and have fun together and once you open up to each other there will be a lot of talking, like, nonstop online or on the phone or in person. Almost like when air signs get together and talk each other’s ears off... I dunno if fire signs do this as well but air signs are like yak yak yak. I do this with gemini and libra especially (and i’m a gemini) though i had an ex that was an aquarius too and when we got along we talked SO MUCH and that was the one part of the relationship that was strong and i enjoyed when we talked about deep things and interests. I do see a lot of affection here, as well. 

Oops so right about the original tarot cards... interesting things to point out, all figures have their eyes closed except when reversed lovers girl is facing the past her eyes are open but the her that’s facing forward has her eyes closed. knight of wands guy is forcing the cat-horse he’s on to open its eyes (imo). i almost feel like open eyed figure in lovers is someone’s higher self and looking at these two figures (the 10 of wands and knight of wands) - and those two figures are moving forward, one is carrying a heavy burden in the night and knight of wands is also charging forward during night... like i said i can’t tell if that’s a sun or moon in the lovers and that may be symbolic in itself... the sun would usually represent joy or clarity okay i’ll just throw out some possible interpretations.

they could be heading in your direction now, the fact that they have their eyes closed in the first two cards could mean that this is an unexpected encounter when it happens. someone might not be as open with their third eye/intuition as the other because lovers person has their eye open and the other doesn’t so perhaps you’re the lovers person... and it may be that you notice them first but they don’t know you or haven’t noticed you and you’ll have to be the one to make the first move because they may be busy or preoccupied with their studies/job/situation...  and it may be why lovers is reversed too bc you have to initiate that first convo c they’re too busy and moving too fast to stop. their job especially might be having to work a night shift which is why those two cards both seem to be happening at night. this could also be symbolic of needing to “meet them half way” in regard to a successful relationship. I think it also means you have to be open minded when it comes to this relationship.

in the lovers card you see an f/f and m/m couple so IF one or both of you were lgbt something about that could be a factor in this relationship. if someone was bi or pan or it’s just some aspect of the relationship but not necessarily a big factor. in terms of timing uhh well all we have are 10 of wands and knight of wands and lovers (6) so dates could be 10/6 but that’s um tomorrow lol, so it could be 6/10 or during gemini season (next may/june). 10 wands could signify 10 weeks-10 months and 10 months would hit gemini season, as well. personally i feel like it will be a while bc 10 of wands even tho it’s wands has this very.... sloooow looong journey feel... but then knight of wands moves pretty quick.... and that could describe the relationship too... like it’s a little slow going and difficult to smooth it out but then all of a sudden once you get to know each other it’s like ZAP and suddenly it’s a very serious connection. bc you go from 10 of wands.... to knight of wands (passion) and then Lovers...  so even if there’s a bit of work at the beginning if you put the effort into it, it will evolve into something serious that I think will also... teach you both something about how to... create a balanced relationship and in that, it will also balance you out individually... like I see you learning a lot about relationships from this connection that would IF it didn’t last FOREVER would help in future relationships.

let’s see if we look at numbers i see 8, 9, 10, 6 with a lot of reds/purples and maybe some pink/green and a bit of blue... so that would indicate some grounding and spirituality here... and them some heart chakra... and then a bit of communication so yeah i see it as a spiritual connection that... kind of brings you both down to earth in some way and opens your heart and communication will be relevant as well...  but this person is also chasing something... so keep that in mind you may be sort of sharing this person with their career... so much air and fire... and those numbers make me think of personal power, spirituality and philanthropy, a cycle and then home/work/love so there’s a lot to learn from this relationship, personal growth, and love - these are the things that will come out of this relationship... and it may actually be kinda long-term or at least... it will feel very mature and serious compared to any past relationships - maybe a lot bc this person is particularly determined and head-strong and tries to make things work and is probably a person who acknowledges when things need to be fixed or dealt with - so they won’t just ignore if there’s an issue, they’ll want to confront it head on, you know... yeah so that seems like a lot, let’s stop there.

if i had to compare them to any person i know? hmmm. i was going to compare to any bts member but i don’t think any fit this... jackson wang comes to mind tho, he’s quite personable and very like go go go but i’ve seen videos of him helping fans up in the airport and he always says what’s on his mind but he’s got a lot of charisma? it’s hard to think of someone bc this person is like a BOSS but they’re more fire-air charismatic, not grounded like RM and there’s a maturity to them... not JK but a pic of him came to mind when he’s walking with jimin somewhere and he has this intense look and then he puts his arm out as if he was protecting jimin? but no not jk either, maybe jk when he’s 30. and that sorta makes sense cuz i can see jk as knight of cups now but at 30 he’d be a king of wands, yknow... and i’m not assuming your gender of interest i just figured you liked bts so you’d know what i meant about personality bc as a female, it’d be like ariana or megan thee stallion you know real boss bitch energy, so same with any boss bitch of a masculine persuasion bc we did get that queen card and a king of wands... i see someone young and sophisticated or at least put together and always kind of in a hurry but they look nice and attractive, not a slob, maybe even dress nice... but i see them as always go go go going through an airport going fast through a building where they work, like always on their way to a meeting or something. well you get the idea. i guess there aren’t many people who come to mind until i think of jimin walking through an airport back in the day.

weird tho cuz he’s... mostly air and water i think. well he would have a watery venus heh and he has an air moon and air sun :D a fire jupiter... water mars.

It had been a rather quiet day around the shop so Aurelia had told her cashier at the counter to head home early, figuring there wouldn’t be too much else going on before the shop closed in a few hours. It was so slow, in fact, that Relia decided to head back to her office/reading room and do a personal tarot card spread for herself. Having already pulled her mind and body cards, she was about to select her spirit card when she heard the bell above the door jingle. Of course. “Comin’!” she called out in her thick Mancunian British accent, getting up from her seat and hurrying into the main room. Aurelia’s shop was filled to the brim with witchy supplies, like crystals, oracle cards, herbs, colored candles, and the like. The shop smelled of herbs and essential oils and at least to Aurelia, she found the little shop to be incredibly calming. “Hey, how are ya’? Can I help you with anything? Are you here for a readin’ or are you just lookin’ around?”

Flowers - A short D&D Interlude

This is a short interlude originally written for my main D&D Group, centering around a bunch of NPCs the Party managed to save and recruit as retainers to their new Castle. Why am I Posting it here?

“Ye got any flowers ye fancy much?”

Ssethos raised his eyes from the weathered pages of his book and levelled them at the bush of stringy, chestnut locks  that had squeezed through the crack of the door.

“What is the purpose of the question?“ he asked, watching as the teal eyes of the wood elf darted through the corners of his small chamber, scrutinizing its every inch.

“Ye room's so gloomy, A thought ye could need something t'cheer it up a wee bit. Do ye like jasmines?”

“It is the dead of winter. Life withers, fades. It would be impractical to go search for any,” the yuan-ti said matter-of-factly, and turned a page in his book.

“They're coloured bright and yellow like ye peepers. Oh! Or mibbe camellias!” Thesra opened the door further to better lean in the room. “Tho' they need sunlight. Not much off that in'ere. Don't yer eyes hurt readin' in the dark like this?”  She began to teeter back and forth on her toes.

Ssethos blinked, but his face remained otherwise motionless. “No.” And then he asked: “Why is my room important to you?”

“Isnae to me! But ye've barely been leaving ye room an I got wee worried,” the wood elf said quickly and stopped bobbing up and down on her spot. “Yer not sick, are ye?”

“I do not get sick,” was the terse answer.

“Oh, that's good then. So, jasmines? I think jasmines.” Thesra grinned. “Wanna help me search fo'em?”

“No, thank you. It is not necessary for you to do this.”

“Ye, but I wanna.” Thesra sighed and gave a wide shrug. “Where's Kreekar?”

“Resting, still. I saw to her half an hour ago. Her state of malnourishment has diminished significantly.”

“Smashin'!” Thesra was already halfway out the room when she suddenly pedalled back. “Ye sure y'dinnae wanna come?”

“The cold and I do not agree with each other,” Ssethos deadpanned, and with that the conversation was over for him. He turned back to his book. A few moments passed. Then a rustle of leafs and feathers and not even a second later, the oracle could feel Thesra's pointy chin stabbing into his shoulder.

“What'cha readin'?”

“Alchemical formulas,” he lied, without the twitch of an eye. “Were you not going to look for Kreekar?”

“Buh,” the elf made, and pulled away reluctantly, then she scurried back to the door. In the frame, she turned around one final tme.  “I'll be back wit'em Jasmines then! Dinnae run!”

A gust of wind picked up from within the cold chamber and the door snapped shut in front of her nose. Thesra scrunched up her nose, then sighed, pulled her tongue at the yuan-ti's door and went on to search for Owain.

The size of the castle was still something she had to get used to. Back home, in the wet forest swamp of the Wretchgroves she had made do with a small hovel of twigs, mud and fur. It wasn't a bad hovel. It was in fact a very nice hovel, with a small fireplace, and dried flowers that she strung up and hung from her ceiling, and round polished stones and empty snail houses and discarded feathers from the large crows, owls and hawks that inhabited the treetops of the groves. And the bird nests she had placed near, for the smaller ones to raise their fledglings in, and the small chest she had found in the woods one day and had never managed to open, no matter what sylvan incantations or druidic spells she'd try.  

Not to say the castle was bad. It had so much space, so many rooms, so many corridors, all lined with old statues and ancient armours, and dragons and knights and monsters etched into the walls flowing down the halls spewing flame and swinging blades. And the people living here were very nice as well, if so formal. They'd bow and stutter even though Thesra didn't wear a crown on her head nor was she one of the brave people that rescued Ssethos, Kreekar, Kiesel and her. Orwain was the only one who seemed to treat her like normal though. He didn't mind her running around barefoot in the castle either, or bringing pressed and dried flowers from outside and hang about the rooms. It must be because he was so old, she had decided. He was like one of the old oaks back in her forest – old and bark-y and not surprised with any of the young animals that scurried over its roots and just accepting. And just as silent when walking.

Finding him was a real trial, at least until Thesra had noticed that Orwain used a rather heavy smellwater that had pungent note to it that could linger for hours in certain parts of the castle. So, she let her nose lead through the corridors and down sets of stairs, past the dining chamber...

“You were looking for me, Miss Thesra?”

The druid yelled out in surprise and jumped around, facing the ever-sneaky chamberlain with a grin on her face. “How'd ye do tha'? Yer sneakier than a fox and blind as a mole without yer glasses, how'd ye keep doin' it?”

“Four and a half centuries of service in these halls grants you insight into every nook and corner, every crank and every creaking floorboard.” His eyes glinted behind the tinted glasses. “What need do you have of me?”

“Three things, if ye dinnae mind.”

“Not at all, my dear.”

“Have ye seen Kiesel anywhere? I've been lookin' fer him all day, I had a thing o'two t'discuss with'em. Also, how's Kreekrar doin', ah got some herbs ah found th'other day innae creek in the woods 'n ah think they'll help'er grow'er feathers back wee faster, and do ye know where ah could find any Jasmines?”

“Last time I saw the young man, I believe Mister Fairless caught him up to the elbow in the jar of fresh biscuits he had prepared at the young Lady Maurina's request and then chased him around the kitchen with a frying pan in the one and fresh a bouquet of burdock in the other. I wisely chose to abscond when the frying pan was switched out for a fire iron.”

“Och, thassa shame. Ah hoped t'speak with'em about a bit regardin' the Fairwoods.”

“On the matter of Miss Kreekrar, I thought it best to allow her some fresh air and some moving the legs outside at the wall of the Outer Courtyard. She's been trapped in her room for so long, I thought it would do her some good. On the matter of jasmines...,” He furrowed his brow in thought. “I can't be certain but I believe I remember them growing in larger clusters near the road to Corth, just down south of the Castle and near the outreaches of the Fairwoods. May I inquire what their purpose is?”

“Fo' Ssethos. Cause he's all gloomy 'n dark 'n I thought it mae cheer'em up a wee bit,” Thesra muttered and twiddled her thumbs and caught a sudden interest at the polished window-boards.

“...I see. Then I wish you good luck in your endeavour,” Owain smiled. A loud jumbling noise of stomping footsteps, angry yells and iron hitting iron and chortled childish chuckling from upstairs caused both to look up in unison, and Owain to sigh. “I believe Mister Fairless has found Kiesel. If you'll excuse me, I will try to administer some quickly needed damage reduction.” Said and turned around and hurried down the hallway, still somehow managing to keep an upright, ever-posh posture with his arms folded behind his back and the head held upright.

“Good luck!” Thesra yelled after him, then opened a window, jumped up the window board and slipped outside into the cold winter noon.

Kreekrar was looking a lot better than the last time Thesra visited her in her room – grey feather fuzz had begun to grow back in patches across the vulture-like neck and her eyes had lost the grey film that had plagued the aarakocra ever since her imprisonment and torture by the dragon cult . She greeted the wood elf with a series of happy, if still a bit raspy chirps and gladly and curiously accepted the small bundle of dried herbs Thesra had gathered for her.

“Ah used to give'em to the little ravens and owls back in me hut in the Wretchgroves when they wouldn't mould right

'n had problems growin' their feathers, so ah think it mebbe works with ye to!” Thesra chattered happily, and pranced through the snow side-by-side with the Kreekrar, wiggling her bare toes in the snow and kicking up flakes and watching them fall through the air. Kreekrar chirped softly, then tilted her head to the side and looked worried down at the reddening skin of the wood elf's feet. Thesra noticed her look and laughed. “'tis fine, see, ahm used t'the cold 'n junk!”

And as if to prove her point, she dug her left foot up to her ankle beneath the snow, “Yeet!” then yanked it upward and sending a clump the size of a fist flying in a high arc over the wall and down the slope of the Trollhead Hill.

Kreekrar's shoulders twitched up in a shrug.

The two sat down on a clean patch of the wall and watched over the landscape opening up below them: the freshly reaped crop fields and the small farm houses adjacent to them, the sheep herds herded up the hills by freezing shepherds and their barking dogs, a procession of carts filled with chopped down tree logs and branches exiting the eastern patch of the Fairwoods and carting them to Taubach by the Sylvantear Creek.

“This place is nice. Quiet, comely, 'n many fey and spirits and the like live in the forest, “Thesra said after a while and pulled up her knees up under her chin, until only her toes wiggled out from under the many layers of her various pelts and skirts. “Though I do miss me home, 'n the bird nests, 'n the quiet. Do you miss ye home?”

Kreekrar chirped sadly and nodded. Then she raised her arms helplessly, and let them fall again. No idea how to get back.

“Someday,” she croaked, still struggling with forming complex sentences in the common tongue. “I maybe return. When a way found. But now, I am here. We are here. The people are good here. No large loss.”

“'s true. They're very good, 'n very nice, even if the hat-bard's a bit grouchy and Mister Tozavur a bit stiff'n such. They're very nice.” Thesra eyed Kreekrar. “Do ye got someone home waitin' for ye?”

Kreekrar shook her head. Stopped to think, then wiggled her head from one side to the other. “Complicated. Two sisters. Never got along.”

“Och, sisters, never knew what's that like. Whatsit like?”

“Very annoying often,” Kreekrar snarked and the ruff of feathers around her neck shook and poofed up. “But we stuck. Worked together. Not good, but we worked.”

“Ye wanna see'em again?”

“No rush.”

“Aye,” Thesra stood up on the wall and raised a hand over her eyes and squinted at the road south, squiggling through the snowfields far below. “Welp, ahmma go'n pluck some flowers. Be back inna jiffy!”

The aaracokra chirped a good-bye behind her, then Thesra had already slid down the wall and tumbled down the slope of the hill and to the road below.

About four hours later, the sun already halfway vanished behind the treetops, Thesra was back in front of Ssethos' door, shaking and shivering and bits of frostbite forming on her cheeks and her fingers and her toes, but with a whole armful of bright yellow and orange-centred, jasmine trumpets gathered in her cloak, the inch-long flowers strung up with their vines and broad green leaves in long garlands and twisted into circles. Thesra's palms and lower arms still itched from where the plant's weak toxin had irritated her skin.

“Ey, Ssethos, ah'm back! Ah brought ye some flowers! Sorry it took so long, but there were some sprites 'n they bit with their tiny spears and 'twas annoyin' as shite. She dropped down and arranged the wild assortment of yellow flowers next to the door, so that they'd be easily seen but not immediately stepped upon by someone exiting the room. Gave a satisfied nod, then she turned around and skipped down the hallway. “Ah'll see ye at dinner! Mister Fairless is makin' ragout!”

The echoe of her footsteps lingered on for a while after the wood elf had vanished around the corner before fleeting entirely. The hallway was silent and empty again. Then the door creaked open slowly. Moments later, the flower bed arranged before the door was gone, and the door closed again.
