It gave me a hard time as the acid is very cold these days, so it doesn’t etch as it should, and when you heat it suddenly it’s too quick. I managed to fix it by burnishing it here and there to obtain a better contrast, but it also gave me a great texture !

"Untitled"

‘Untitled’ is a 6x8 linocut print traced from an image of my own body. I have never been able to do self portraits or even body studies in other mediums, and when those assignments would pop up in school, I’d rather take the zero. However, especially during late 2020 and into 2021, I began really appreciating all of the flaws I found in myself… In other people. I celebrated my fat friends, I found a wonderful community of fat artists, and I came around to making fat characters in various games. ‘Untitled’ is the first piece of self-reflective art I have ever been able to create and not want to destroy immediately. It’s title says more about me than it does about the piece, however- Though I have taken the step to create self-reflective art, I still can’t quite bring my thoughts around to think of myself for long. It is ‘Untitled’ because I am not yet at the point where I can think of one, yet also because that is what I am most comfortable being. I do not have to be the pinnacle of any one shape or form, I just have to be.
