Basic -Code- Info
The Code’s arrival
A “Code” is a type of power that started to manifest within people/humans when an alien species, that has been dubbed “Ulia”, started to invade the world. A “Code” is the only known power that can take on the alien species in order to terminate them.
The “Code” only started to manifest a couple of decades after the Ulia’s arrival, and only a few selected people were able to control it enough for them to manage to fight back against the Ulia’s. After its first clash with the alien species, it instantly began to get investigated.
The research of the individuals with the “Code” also found that this new power also had different affinities/elements. The first affinities/elements that got discovered were the basic elements of nature.
Fire
Water
Air/Wind
Earth/Ground
Physical
During the investigation and research of this new power, the scientists decided to call it “Code”, due to it being found as an anomaly within the genetic pool within these individuals. This name was only supposed to be a placeholder for something more fitting down the line, but after decades/centuries of no change, the name stuck. There have also been no attempts to change the name either.
Other affinities/elements that became known at a later time, and their rarity ranking.
Lightning/Electricity (rare)
Ice (uncommon)
Space (uncommon)
Time (rare)
Gravity (rare)
Light (extremely rare)
Dark (extremely rare)
Sound (extremely rare)
Some affinities/elements that are still considered a rumor/speculation, since there’s no specific proof that they actually exist. (As they can be masked as another already documented type).
Dream (higher subclass of space)
Shadow/Void (higher subclass of dark)
Imaginary (higher subclass of light)
Quantum (higher subclass of gravity)
Star/Nebula (mixture of electricity & shadow/void)
There has also been rumors/speculation of a user that had two affinities/elements. Keep in mind this is only a rumor/speculation and has yet to be investigated and proven to be true.
--- --- ---
The Wild Code.
Occasionally also referred to as “primal code”.
The “Wild Code” is the ancestor for every code there is, and it has still been seen on occasion in modern times. But due to it being “wild”, it’s uncertain if the user with this code will be able to control it properly, as it has been seen that this type can have a consciousness of its own. This is still being researched, and it’s currently unclear due to it being a rare find within the modern days, making it hard to study.
A “Wild Code” is formed when a human is being born with an Ulian “core” within them. The core manifests at some point in the fetus’s development and will give the child a “Wild Code'' after birth. Where this core comes from, or why it manifests at all, is still unknown, but it’s been speculated it's because of a family’s long history of being “codeless”, typically for several generations at a time. This code activates/awakens randomly.
This type of code is also incredibly hard to control due to its pure nature and Ulian connection. This is also speculated to make the human a Ulia/Human hybrid. There has been no investigation into this claim as per this day. Humans with this type of code are prone to extreme harassment, being seen as a monster by their peers. Due to this, there is no existing support for these individuals, mostly of fear for the Ulian connection.
Despite the prominent stigmata, the “Wild Code” is also the purest form of the code there is, making them the best suited fighters against the Ulia’s, if they have the right training. This code is also unconstrained in how it enhances its user’s abilities or power. This also allows the user to choose their style of fighting, as well as preferred weapon of choice. The code itself might have its own weapon preference, and it will subtly show/tell by making its user have a hard time using other types of weapons. In extreme cases, the “Wild Code” can manifest its user’s preferred weapon from its own energy if needed, making even a seemingly unarmed fighter a daunting opponent.
If the user has no training whatsoever, the code will manifest its preferred weapon deep within the user's consciousness, but only if the user showcases signs of feeling threatened or endangered. This has not been proven, nor investigated, but it’s speculated that this only happens when the code takes full control over its user’s body.
If the user doesn't have full control over their code, but can still use it at will, their eyes will give off a faint glow. This glow will also make the vision of the user slightly blurry. The brighter the glow, the lesser vision the user gets and no amount of training can prevent this from happening. If the glow is too strong, the user will be completely blind. This will, and can, put the user and others around them in grave danger if Ulia’s are present in the area. The glow will reflect what affinity/element alignment they have.
If the user can properly control their code, their eyes will have a gradient coloration. The color will reflect their affinity/element alignment. This is a permanent side effect for the user, and will not be harmful. While the code is in use/activated, the user’s pupils will change its shape. This differs from user to user and affinity/element.
As the “Wild Code” is the first type of code to appear, a “Basic Code” has been made in order for people that don’t have one, to allow them to join the fight against the alien species. Due to the creation of the “Basic Code”, the “Wild Code” has mostly been forgotten and replaced by the former.
If the code takes over the user’s body, the user’s overall demeanor and expression will change, becoming emotionless and showing no hesitation when fighting. It will also have a hard time to differ from friend or foe, taking everyone down as it sees fit for its survival. This state has been seen and documented, but has never been proven to be the code taking control over the users body. While the code does as it pleases in order to survive, the overall power will also increase greatly when fighting. Once the user gains control over their body again, it will take a while before they can get into normal routines, as their bodies will be sore and ache for a while.
This state has been called “overdrive”, and will only happen when the code and/or user feels endangered or life threatened. This state can be “overrun” by the user, but it needs a lot of extreme mental training in order to fight against their own code. If attempted, the user usually loses the fight.
A “Wild Code” also does have a name, but this is knowledge only to the user.
--- --- ---
The Basic Code
The “Basic Code” is a human-made code in order to fight against the Ulia’s, being a much more user friendly copy of the “Wild Code”. This code type can only enhance the firepower of the weapon its user is wielding, and in rare cases, overall physical strength/power if the user uses a non fire-arm type weapon.
This code is given to children when they reach the age of 14/15, depending on the country/region. It’s given at the same time as a mandatory vaccine is given during that age. In extremely rare cases, the user might get a fever, but this will subside within 2 to 3 days of rest.
The “Basic Code” is a code type that everyone can get and use, but still require special training if going into the military forces in order to fight/counter the alien species. People who don’t get into the military forces use their code within their chosen career path.
--- --- ---
The Pure Code
The “Pure Code” is a basic code that has managed to get passed down through the bloodline and been within a family over several generations.
Example.
One user gets a “Basic Code”. Get proper training in order to use it properly. This user’s children will then get the code passed down, and enhance the basic code. With each new generation, the code will slightly get stronger.
This continues for a couple of more generations until it's deemed a “Pure Code”, more due to its stronger enhancement of the user’s weapon. It still acts like a “Basic Code”, and is “activated” when the child gets their BC/vaccine shot at the age of 14/15.
Due to its “pure” nature, this code is highly sought after by nobility and other high ranking people/families. A lot of arranged marriages are happening due to some families wanting to keep their bloodline’s code continuously “pure”, while others might want a certain affinity or “effect” from a specific code they want.
This is also creating a new type of Code’s that’s still being researched, as certain researchers and scientists want to get it classified as its own code type, and not a subclass of the basic code.
--- --- ---
The Super Code
The “Super Code” is only a speculation. This type of code is formed when two pure “Wild Codes” combine, creating an entirely new code type. Affinities/elements of this type of code is usually of the extremely rare sort, due to it also being two affinities/elements combining.

Chapter 28 & things to address..
Hello, it’s your favorite absent author-nim. Lmao
Chapter 28 is up and ready for your eyes. I had a sweet time writing this one because it’s the gate to all lovey dovey stuff.
*heart flutters*
On a more serious/concerning update, there’s a lot of things stemming from one thing that I need to address. Please bare with me as I open the gates of *drum roll* anonymous readers (?) that have been abusing that anonymous button on the ask section of this app.
At first (for months) I didn't want to bring attention to the nonstop harassment I've been getting over here but I feel like there's a person (or several) that have been abusing that anonymous button for months.
And it sucks.
At first, I simply deleted the asks that these people sent because I couldn't be bothered but lately it's all I've been getting (to the point of not being able to find the nice comments) and if their goal is to make me post more often....I'm here to inform you that it's not working, obviously.
Threatening me to post the next update actually hinders me from doing so because my inspiration is gone the moment I read those asks. If you're wondering why I'm no longer active on Tumblr is mainly because of this and now I dread opening this app. with all the due respect that my mother raised me with…please stop.
This is meant to be a pleasing distraction from everyday life. We are here to make friends and to build a safe space, something that lately its not for me.
I believe this story is not that good to be receiving threats over. Sure, I love this story too, I deeply love my characters and it's been a joy writing about them. And I understand the need for weekly updates just as much as I want this story to go on forever. Unfortunately the weekly update thing has not been possible because I work 9-5 but if I'm being honest, I can write a full chapter in three nights. The thing is, reading really rude comments deters me from doing so, I'm sure every reader-nim that it's also an author-nim can relate to this.
And I’m not talking about the reader-nims asking me about the next update or sending great constructive criticism, NO. I’m talking about the anonymous asks that call me a b*tch (to put it in the nicest way without losing context) every time the weekend update is not posted.
As for the things among these *asks* that I -at this point- must address are:
1. How realistic the story is…NOT (?)
One of the first rude asks I got about DSIMY being not realistic at all was how can I claim it to be real when my writing is mediocre and sets the tannies up in the story.
First of all, I know I’ve said I’m trying to keep the story as realistic as possible. What I meant with that was in terms of the timeline. There’s no way I can deduce the tannies’ character down to perfection. Breaking news, I don’t know them. This is fiction even if the tags are #OriginalUniverse. Please understand this is in no way a Hybe certified biography written by a random ao3 author on the internet. *Me believes ao3 is not Wikipedia.*
As for setting the tannies up, I’m hurt that you think I am doing that and I have no clues as to why you would believe that. Again, this is fan fiction written by a random not certified writer dabbling in fan fiction on a site/archive called ao3.
I know I’m not the best writer —I never claim to be one. I know I have so much ahead of me in terms of improvement. I’m not forcing anyone to read anything I write so I don’t understand why the asks about the chapter being sh*t keep coming. If you don’t like it, please don’t read it. Spare your eyes from my writing.
2. Long/short chapters
Complaining about not long enough chapters and then following it up with the chapter being 15k words of filler writing…..I’m sorry. I’m already setting up myself with shorter more action packed chapters. It’s my first time writing fan fiction and I made the mistake of making DSIMY the introduction of the series. At this point, I’m lost on what to include in the chapters.
3. Ignoring comments
I’m not sure if this is about the many comments on ao3 that I have yet to reply to or the 50+ unanswered asks sitting in my inbox. I’ve been deleting rude asks for months here on Tumblr up until these asks literally ran me off the app. Being completely honest, seeing hateful asks at the top of the inbox has made me expect them every time I log on here. And sure thing, there they are, so I stopped altogether.
4. Teasing new stories when DSIMY needs a lot of improvement
Not gonna lie, up until now I was really proud of the story I drafted from the corners of my mind. Up until now. Now im not so sure if DSIMY is worth finishing after many asks telling me to focus on DSIMY instead of starting another shitty story. I know I can’t please everyone, I seriously thought I would receive a lot of excitement from the sequels. Crap, guess not.
5. Not addressing the rude asks
Seriously. This was a happy space for everyone up until I had to address this. I will not answer the rude asks mainly because it will start a chain of events of back and forth that I would like to avoid. And I seriously hope this will be the only time I have to bring such update.
One last thing.
Twitter is going to be my main social media from now on because even if you’re allowed to have a fake profile I can block people if they’re rude, whereas here I cant when people can call me a b*tch and a pathetic author (I'm putting this nicely btw) behind that anonymous button. I've loved Tumblr because you guys are more active here but with this happening I made the decision to stick to Twitter or no social media at all. This is not something I decided after one rude message, it's been more than a dozen since I got fired and it's seriously pushing me back from updating this story.
I will be posting teasers, and just overall updates about everything on Twitter. I will try to move the media over to there some time.
I know it’s very few people being party poopers but these few people are loud and for the sake of enjoying this journey I have to stop giving them access to being rude. I hope you understand where I’m coming from and I apologize if some of this came off in the wrong way —its not meant like that.
I’ll never take your patience and love for granted.
Love,
Your author nim.
