Apollo Program: Lunar Module (LM) production and names
Tumblr media
The Grumman Aerospace Corporation was awarded the contract on November 7, 1962. Originally designated Lunar Excursion Module (LEM), NASA ordered 25 lunar modules (10 test articles and 15 production models) for testing and landing on the moon. This was to go with the 15 Saturn Vs and Apollo CSMs. They were assembled in Grumman's factory in Bethpage, New York.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"There were initially four major subcontractors: Bell Aerosystems (ascent engine), Hamilton Standard (environmental control systems), Marquardt (reaction control system) and Rocketdyne (descent engine).
The Primary Guidance, Navigation and Control System (PGNCS) was developed by the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory; the Apollo Guidance Computer was manufactured by Raytheon (a similar guidance system was used in the command module). A backup navigation tool, the Abort Guidance System (AGS), was developed by TRW."
-Information from Wikipedia: link
After the Gemini 3 spacecraft was dubbed Molly Brown by Gus Grissom, NASA forbade naming spacecraft. For Apollo 9, this changed due to mission controllers in Houston needing a way to differentiate between the two spacecraft.
Between 1969 and 1972, Grumman produced a series of insignias for their Lunar Modules which were distributed in limited quantities to their employees in the form of decals and prints.
Tumblr media
Apollo 5 (LM-1): none
Tumblr media
Apollo 3 (and later 2) (LM-2): Never used, intended for a mission similar to Apollo 5. The success of LM-1 led to the cancellation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 9 (LM-3): Spider
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 10 (LM-4): Snoopy. The LM ascent stage in heliocentric orbit and is the only known one to have survived intact
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 11 (LM-5): Eagle (originally named haystack)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 12 (LM-6): Intrepid
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 13 (LM-7): Aquarius
Humorously, Grumman sent North American (the manufacturer of the Apollo Command and Service Module) a tow bill sometime after the crew returned. North American retorted back saying they've never sent them a tow bill for the previous missions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 14 (LM-8): Antares.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 15 (originally) (LM-9): never used, on display the Kennedy Space Center.
Intended for Apollo 15 and was the last H-type mission. When Apollo 18 was cancelled, it was decided to make Apollo 15 the first J-type mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 15 (LM-10): Falcon, originally intended for Apollo 16. First of the extended stay series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 16 (LM-11): Orion, originally intended for Apollo 17
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 17 (LM-12): Challenger, originally intended for Apollo 18.
Note: this name was reused for the second operational Space Shuttle Orbiter. After the Challenger Disaster, NASA officially retired the name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apollo 18 (LM-13): never used, originally intended for 19. It was partially completed when Apollo 18 and 19 were cancelled. Later restored by Grumman workers and is on display at the Cradle of Aviation History and Education Center.
Apollo 19 (LM-14): never used, originally intended for Apollo 20. It was partially completed when Apollo 18 and 19 were cancelled. What was completed, was later scrapped.
Tumblr media
Apollo 20 (LM-15): never used, partially completed, scrapped. When Apollo 20 was cancelled, it was intended for modification into the Apollo Telescope Mount. Later the Telescope Mount was integrated into Skylab and this dedicated mission was cancelled.

NASA Selects Companies to Advance Moon Mobility for Artemis Missions
NASA
NASA has selected Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost, and Venturi Astrolab to advance capabilities for a lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) that Artemis astronauts will use to travel around the lunar surface, conducting scientific research during the agency’s Artemis campaign at the Moon and preparing for human missions to Mars.
The awards leverage NASA’s expertise in developing and operating rovers to build commercial capabilities that support scientific discovery and long-term human exploration on the Moon. NASA intends to begin using the LTV for crewed operations during Artemis V.
“We look forward to the development of the Artemis generation lunar exploration vehicle to help us advance what we learn at the Moon,” said Vanessa Wyche, director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. “This vehicle will greatly increase our astronauts’ ability to explore and conduct science on the lunar surface while also serving as a science platform between crewed missions.”
NASA will acquire the LTV as a service from industry. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, milestone-based Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services contract with firm-fixed-price task orders has a combined maximum potential value of $4.6 billion for all awards.
Each provider will begin with a feasibility task order, which will be a year-long special study to develop a system that meets NASA’s requirements through the preliminary design maturity project phase. The agency will issue a subsequent request for task order proposal to eligible provider(s) for a demonstration mission to continue developing the LTV, deliver it to the surface of the Moon, and validate its performance and safety ahead of Artemis V. NASA anticipates making an award to only one provider for the demonstration. NASA will issue additional task orders to provide unpressurized rover capabilities for the agency’s moonwalking and scientific exploration needs through 2039.
The LTV will be able to handle the extreme conditions at the Moon’s South Pole and will feature advanced technologies for power management, autonomous driving, and state of the art communications and navigation systems. Crews will use the LTV to explore, transport scientific equipment, and collect samples of the lunar surface, much farther than they could on foot, enabling increased science returns.
Between Artemis missions, when crews are not on the Moon, the LTV will operate remotely to support NASA’s scientific objectives as needed. Outside those times, the provider will have the ability to use their LTV for commercial lunar surface activities unrelated to NASA missions.
“We will use the LTV to travel to locations we might not otherwise be able to reach on foot, increasing our ability to explore and make new scientific discoveries,” said Jacob Bleacher, chief exploration scientist in the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “With the Artemis crewed missions, and during remote operations when there is not a crew on the surface, we are enabling science and discovery on the Moon year around.”
NASA provided technical requirements, capabilities, and safety standards needed for LTV development and operations, and the selected companies have agreed to meet the key agency requirements. The contract request for proposal required each provider to propose a solution to provide end-to-end services, including LTV development, delivery to the Moon, and execution of operations on the lunar surface.
Through Artemis, NASA will send astronauts – including the first woman, first person of color, and its first international partner astronaut – to explore the Moon for scientific discovery, technology evolution, economic benefits, and to build the foundation for crewed missions to Mars. Advanced rovers, along with the agency’s SLS (Space Launch System) rocket and Orion spacecraft, commercial human landing systems and next-generation spacesuits, and Gateway are NASA’s foundation for deep space exploration.

Trouble (Close To Him)
Everyone said... "He would bring you trouble" he was someone who I shouldn't be close with.
He entered the school on the day I wasn't present. On the day I had attempted to get rid of myself and my pains. The next day, I saw people staring at the boy seated in front of me, with his head down as his arms shielded it from the curious glares from the whole class. He had bandages on his arms and fingers.
"So similar yet so different" I thought as I gripped on my sleeve that hid my scars and walked to my desk quietly.
The teacher entered the class with a scowl on his face.
"Crazy wife, crazy kids and now I have to go through this crazy class!" I went through his mind. Guess he didn't have a good day at home. After a few minutes of teaching he noticed something.... Me..? Or so I thought... It was the boy in front of me.
"Mr. Rioz.... Mr. Rioz!..... ORION WINTRINGHAM RIOZ!!" even the people who weren't sleeping jolted from his loud voice. The boy... Tarquin, I suppose, lifted his head very slowly in a very relaxed manner.
"what?" he groggily asked.
"I suppose you were too busy with your 'business' yesterday. However, this doesn't mean that you will sleep in class... That is also mine! If you want to sleep, please get out and arrange another place for yourself, for this class is the place for people who wish to succeed in their life! " he said.
Orion got up with some books and a pen in his hand " Aight.... " and left the class leaving the students and the teacher speechless. The teacher took a deep breath and calmed his anger.
" At least, the problem is gone from here. " he said and continued teaching, but I couldn't focus ever since he left.
I suppose I shouldn't be getting close to him... Because he brings trouble....
He got detention 2 times a week since the first day I saw him. He talked back to Mrs. Mcgee. Which in my opinion he shouldn't have. And the second time was because he fought with the higher class student named Edmund Houston. He is the class vice president. But Orion claimed that Edmund insulted his family. But why would anyone even bother listening to the school's bad boy?
The school principal called me on a chilly Tuesday morning.
"Miss Raven Nunez. How are you?"
"G.. Good morning... S.. Sir... Wh... What have you.... You called me... Me here for?"
"I believe that mister Rioz is in your class?"
"Ye... Yes"
He intertwined his fingers together and sighed. "You must be very aware of his shenanigans. That boy is out of control."
"yo... You must be thi.... Thinking of me to gui... Guide him... Am I.... Am I right sir?"
"... Absolutely right..... But Raven dear... I'm not pressuring you into doing this. But please consider this. I can't think of anyone else other than you. You have good grades and you are really sweet and you don't get angry quickly. You even tamed Vania Dunn. And I know that you can do this too. "
But I can't speak.... I can't speak like a normal person and I have continuous break downs and suicidal tendencies.... How can I help someone when I can't help myself?
" I will think..... Will think about it.... "
" Thank you so much Raven. "
I walked out of the room. I bit my lips and dug my nails into the skin of my hand. I probably need to go to the washroom again.
I looked at my wrist, it had a fading scar. I took out the blade from my pocket with trembling hands. I gulped as I tried to calm myself down. "One last..... last time..... One last time." I whispered to myself as I pressed the cold blade on my skin and watched the warm blood dripping down my wrist. I sighed. But the loud bang of the washroom door opening caught me off guard and I hid my hands behind my back.
"Va.... Vania..." I smiled at her "I was searching for.... For you".
"And I knew that I'd find you here Ven." she said as she strode towards me.
"Why we.... Were you looking for... For me?" I nervously spoke.
"Show me." she said.
"Sh... Show what?"
"The blade...." I widened my eyes. How could she know that?
"What... Do you mean?"
"Cut it out Raven! I know what you were doing! Pull it out!"
I dropped the blade in front of her and showed her my hand. 'This girl..... I fucking swear to god I'll kill her before she does more harm to her body.' I went through her mind. She had her eyes closed and she tucked her bright red locks behind her ear. As her green eyes bore a hole on my head, I quickly looked away.
"Sit on the sink.." she said. She rummaged through her bag and pulled out bandages and medicines as I sat on the sink.
"God dammit...." she grumbled while applying the medicine on my hand "if it weren't for you I wouldn't have carried this extra load in my bag"
I stared at the floor. "So..... Sorry."
"For what exactly?"
"Fo... For making you wo.... worried..."
"Yes! You should apologize for making me worried! You should apologize for doing this to yourself and you should also apologize for thinking that you deserve all of this? What the hell makes you think that you do not deserve love like any other people?"
"But I do.... I don't.. Dad says that no.... Nobody would love a stuttering fool like..... Like me... And that I should be.... Be more like Jocelyn...."
"That bitch should be more like you! That s$#&!! Walking around the campus like she owns the school! And stupid boys following her around! Such dumb f#c&$!!"
"You shouldn't.... Shouldn't curse so much Vania.... It is no.... Not good for your health!"
"And bathing in one's blood is good for health?!"
She may be right..... Maybe I am the stupid one.... Maybe I am dangerous for myself. Suddenly, Vania gripped my shoulders tightly and sighed.
"Raven, you just need to be yourself. You don't need to live on other people's opinions and expectations. You know what's the best for you. Even if he doesn't love you, there are many people who do. I am your best friend for a reason. And it is because I found you amazing. And not the version that wants to be the best, but your real version. Your true self. I want you to realize how important you are. It doesn't matter how long it takes for you to realize it but one day..... I hope you do. Raven I can guarantee you that I can not find anyone better than you. I will never choose that Jocelyn bitch over you. "
I smiled at her. " Th... Thanks Vania.... It will... Will really help me.. "
'I hope it does.' she thought and helped me get down.
" Why did you come out of Mr. Castro's office? Did something happen? "
" It's nothing, He asked.... Asked me if I could help him gui..... Guide Orion. A classmate. Because he is.... Is a troublemaker and I technically ta... Tamed yo-"
"You did Not tame me! I just began seeing you as my best soulmate and I'm an untamed dragon flying freely in the sky nobody dares to-"
I chuckled at her words.
"Alright... How about you try and see.... If he is really out of control then you just drop him.. It's not like he will resent you for it." she said and stopped in front of my classroom.
"What if..... If he does? If I can't do a work pro..... Properly, such a minor task, then won't..... Won't he think I'm use..... Useless?" I looked at my feet..... That's what everyone does. That's what 'he' does. I'm useless to him, Jocelyn is everything to him. He might as well kill me for being useless.
" No." I can sense her glaring at me. " If you can't then you can't. Nobody can force you to do something that you can't. He asked you to do this and if you can't then drop it. And even if he does hate you then I'll kick him out of the school for eternity. "
"Okay. Thank.... Thank you Vania. See you tomorrow." I said and went inside the class and waited for the class to finish. I knew that the teachers would never ask me the questions. They don't have time to waste on me.... A stuttering fool.
Finally the school finished.
Orion sat on his seat waiting for the detention teacher to come. His deep blue eyes were dull, his brown hair tousled and his freckled nose and cheek had bandages. Even though my heart was thumping loudly against my chest, I walked up to him.
"He.... Hello...."  a shiver went up my spine as his dull blue eyes gazed at me. "Sir Castro asked me-"
"I know" he cut me off. "Old man told me this morning" his gaze went back on the black board in front of him. After a few minutes of silence I spoke
"My name..... Name is Raven Nunez. Nice to.... To meet you."
"Orion Wintringham Rioz....." silence filled the class once more.
The teacher entered the class
"Miss Nunez.. What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I... I was just going out to see... See you later."
Before I went out, it went through his mind 'Mrs Mcgee was it.... I'll make sure she goes through hell along with me'
His words made me laugh.. I guess sometimes, the day gets better.
Weeks passed by, the scars on my hand increased. Vania tried to stop me. But I couldn't help it. Today I was at the library, with Orion. He was reading a poetry book. Which was very unlikely of him. And he asked me to tag along with him. Which was even more unlikely of him. Sir Castro said ever since I was assigned to him, he has changed. I don't know if he was saying this to motivate me or if he actually has changed. But come to think of it... He hasn't been going to detention lately. Nor has he been getting into fights, as the bandages that used to be on his face for like forever are nowhere to be seen now.
'It is so easy for me to love you that it frightens me.
I've never been good at anything.
But I've never wanted anything so much as
I want to hold you'
I get lost in the head of Orion . His voice was musical. With his brown hair and freckled face and when he puts his glasses on, he looks more like a sweet nerdy guy than the loner bad boy. Even though I admired him for being able to say no and being able to do whatever he wants regardless of the people's opinion, he would never like to be friend of a freak like me.
I tune back into his head and read along.
'every walking minute
And every night while I sleep.
The question has ceased to be
"How do I love you?" '
Then he stops, looks me in the eye and finishes the last line.
'and has become
"How would I ever stop?"
Because the bond we hold is as unbreakable as the thoughts we share in the stubborn mind of ours.'
I stayed there in utter shock... My eyes widened as I tried to process what he just said to me. In my head I whisper.
' Can you hear me?... '
He whispered back a faint 'yeah' with a small smile on his freckled face as if he was scared to answer. I don't know whether to feel embarrassed or to feel happy.... That I'm not alone in this world. All I could do was give him a smile and he smiled back. The silence around us was like a warm hug to me. I've never had a comforting silence in a while.
I know I shouldn't be close to him because he brings trouble ..... But I can't help it..... I can't help but get close to him. I'd rather fight all my troubles along with him..... I'd rather be..... Close to him....

HPHM MC BIRTHDAY LIST
PLEASE READ!!!
MC or OC MUST be Jacob’s younger sibling. If they do not have an older brother named Jacob, they have to at least be your in-game character.
MC or OC MUST be your in-game character or avatar. This is the most important criterion.
MUST be born between 1 September 1972 and 31 August 1973 (I guess I will be lenient to those born on September-December 1973). This is canonically their birth date so it’s only appropriate.
If MC or OC is a twin, their twin sibling will be included.
Adopted sibling/s may be included as long as their birthdays fall on Jacob’s sibling’s canonical birth date
Jacob himself and any other older or younger siblings will not be included in this list. Cousin/s will not be included, as they are not even Jacob's sibling/s. Any other HPHM OC/s who are not Jacob's sibling/s or who isn't your in-game character will not be included either. I may put their names on the list for a certain amount of time but I will remove them eventually
Thank you for understanding

I dunno if anyone else already did this. I got bored at the office so yeah. This is a good chance to meet other creators and make new friends! Oh and please let me know if I made a mistake (wrong date, wrong spelling, wrong house color, etc.) or if you want your MC’s birthday to be updated or if anyone can provide the birthdates of the MCs whose birthdays I do not know of or if you want your MC’s birthday to be added on this list. Hehe. Please comment. Thank you.

Follow Orion Creatively During NASA’s Artemis I Mission
Tumblr media
Trajectory data from the Orion spacecraft’s first mission around the Moon will be available to the public through NASA’s Artemis Real-time Orbit Website, also known as AROW. AROW, available on NASA’s website and on the @NASA_Orion Twitter account, allows almost anyone with internet access to track Orion’s flight as it happens.
Orion will travel to the Moon and 40,000 miles beyond on Artemis I, its first integrated flight test with the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Users can download trajectory data from the flight, called an ephemeris, from the AROW web page.
The ephemeris data can be used to track Orion with your own spaceflight software application or telescope. It can also be used to create a physics model, animation, visualization, tracking application, or other conceivable projects.
This data is generated by the Flight Dynamics Operations (FDO) group in the Mission Control Center at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. FDO is responsible for trajectory operations of Orion, keeping track of where the spacecraft is and where it is going to be. FDO uses tracking data from the Deep Space Network and predictive models to constantly update Orion’s predicted trajectory, so the Artemis flight control team has the best trajectory estimate possible. An accurate trajectory is essential for achieving mission objectives, maintaining communications links, lighting, adjusting the trajectory, and more.
Links at the bottom of the AROW web article will have the most current posted ephemeris. The ephemeris is in the Consultive Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) Orbital Ephemeris Message (OEM) standard — a text file containing a header, metadata, explanatory information, and ephemeris data, available in the .txt file format.
After the OEM header, Orion state vectors — data describing exactly where Orion is located in space, and how it is moving — in the Mean of J2000 (J2K) reference frame are listed at four-minute intervals until entry interface at the end of mission.  During trajectory maneuvers, the state vectors are reported in two-second intervals. Each state vector lists the time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC); position X, Y, and Z in km; and velocity X, Y, and Z in km/s.
OEMs will be publicly available after Orion separates from the SLS rocket’s interim cryogenic propulsion stage that will give the spacecraft the big in-space push needed to fly beyond the Moon. Entry data will also be available for Orion’s return to Earth.
Follow @NASA_Orion on Twitter for AROW mission updates during Artemis I. Through Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and the first person of color on the surface of the Moon, paving the way for a long-term lunar presence and serving as a steppingstone on the way to Mars.

The Sample Return Capsule (SRC) will land today in the Utah Test and Training Range, south west of Utah City.
The OSIRIS Rex (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer) will release the SRC capsule at 11:42 BST (the spacecraft itself will then fire its engine to avoid Earth at 12:02 BST to fly-by at a distance of 485mi so it can continue on another mission). The SRC capsule will enter the Earths atmosphere at 15:42 BST at 12km/sec (feature than an Apollo/Orion reentry from the Moon) and will experience a deceleration of some 32g.

The recovery team will arrive in four helicopters, first a Lockheed Martin safety engineer will approach the capsule and measure the capsules temperature remotely to ascertain if it is safe to approach, next the atmosphere will be sampled and the area around the capsule will be inspected for any potential hazards.
Them a team from the University of Arizona lead by Principle Investigator Dante Lauretta will cordoned off the area around the Sample Return Capsule (SRC) with flags to denote a keep-out zone and then conduct environmental sampling in that area to build up a library of anything, air, soil, organic matter etc, which could possibly have contaminate the asteroid samples during the landing and recovery.
Once the capsule, weighing 45kg (100 lb), is ready for transport it will be lifted by two people into a metal transport crate and wrapped in multiple layers of Teflon and a tarpaulin. Next the wrapped crate will be fitted with a cargo harness and secured to a lift cable.
This will be attached to a hired Bell Jet Ranger helicopter (in rehearsal's anyway), as a slung load and flown to a hanger at Hill Air Force Base (the range HQ) equipped with a clean room (tent like structure in this case).
There the capsule will be opened and the sample canister will be extracted. The day after both the sample canister and the capsule will be flown to NASA’s Johnson Spaceflight Centre in Houston for storage and from there the sample will be divided and distributed to science investigator teams around the world.
Coverage on NASA TV from 3pm BST (10:00am EDT)... (the picture of the capsule under a parachute is from the recovery rehearsal conducted on 23 August 2023 which was dropped from a helicopter fro the rehearsal)

Key test drive of Orion on NASA's Artemis II to aid future missions
Astronauts will test drive NASA's Orion spacecraft for the first time during the agency's Artemis II test flight next year. While many of the spacecraft's maneuvers like big propulsive burns are automated, a key test called the proximity operations demonstration will evaluate the manual handling qualities of Orion.
During the approximately 70-minute demonstration set to begin about three hours into the mission, the crew will command Orion through a series of moves using the detached upper stage of the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket as a mark. The in-space propulsion stage, called the ICPS (interim cryogenic propulsion stage), includes an approximately two-foot target that will be used to evaluate how Orion flies with astronauts at the controls.
"There are always differences between a ground simulation and what an actual spacecraft will fly like in space," said Brian Anderson, Orion rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking manager within the Orion Program at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. "The demonstration is a flight test objective that helps us reduce risk for future missions that involve rendezvous and docking with other spacecraft."
After NASA's Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen are safely in space, the moon rocket's upper stage will fire twice to put Orion on a high Earth orbit trajectory. Then, the spacecraft will automatically separate from the rocket stage, firing several separation bolts before springs push Orion a safe distance away.
As the spacecraft and its crew move away, Orion will perform an automated backflip to turn around and face the stage. At approximately 300 feet away, Orion will stop its relative motion. The crew will take control and use the translational and rotational hand controllers and display system to make very small movements to ensure Orion is responding as expected.
Next, the crew will very slowly pilot Orion to within approximately 30 feet of the stage. A two-foot auxiliary target mounted inside the top of the stage, similar to the docking target used by spacecraft visiting the International Space Station, will guide their aim.
"The crew will view the target by using a docking camera mounted inside the docking hatch window on the top of the crew module to see how well aligned they are with the docking target mounted to the ICPS," Anderson said. "It's a good stand in for what crews will see when they dock with Starship on Artemis III and to the Gateway on future missions."
About 30 feet from the stage, Orion will stop and the crew will checkout the spacecraft's fine handling qualities to evaluate how it performs in close proximity to another spacecraft. Small maneuvers performed very close to the ICPS will be done using the reaction control system thrusters on Orion's European Service Module.
Orion will then back away and allow the stage to turn to protect its thermal properties. The crew will follow the stage, initiate a second round of manual maneuvers using another target mounted on the side of the stage, approach within approximately 30 feet, perform another fine handling quality check out, then back away.
At the end of the demonstration, Orion will perform an automated departure burn to move away from the ICPS before the stage then fires to re-enter Earth's atmosphere over a remote location in the Pacific Ocean. During Orion's departure burn, engineers will use the spacecraft's docking camera to gather precise positioning measurements, which will help inform navigation during rendezvous activities on future missions in the lunar environment, where there is no GPS system.
Because the Artemis II Orion is not docking with another spacecraft, it is not equipped with a docking module containing lights and therefore is reliant on the ICPS to be lit enough by the sun to allow the crew to see the targets.
"As with many of our tests, it's possible the proximity operations demonstration won't go exactly as expected," said Anderson. "Even if we don't accomplish every part of the demonstration, we'll continue on with the test flight as planned to accomplish our primary objectives, including evaluating Orion's systems with crew aboard in the deep space environment and keeping the crew safe during the mission."
The approximately 10-day Artemis II flight will test NASA's foundational human deep space exploration capabilities, the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft, for the first time with astronauts and will pave the way for lunar surface missions, including landing the first woman, first person of color, and first international partner astronaut on the moon.
