Helping Steven through a panic attack

genre : angst

warnings : sad boi Steven :(, crying, panic attacks.

summary : after a long day at work, you find Steven on the kitchen floor in the middle of a panic attack.

authors note : hello! I have never written before so I'm very nervous, feedback is highly appreciated!! pls ignore any spelling errors, English is not first language. I’m sorry if it’s long 🙁 I hope you enjoy :D

the moment you walked through the door sobs filled you’re ears

“Steven?” you asked as you placed your bag on the floor and you’re keys onto the table besides the door

when you didn’t get an answer you began searching the small apartment

“Baby??” you called out as you heard the sobs getting louder, you soon found Steven sitting on the kitchen floor with his arms wrapped around his knees, tears streaming down his flushed cheeks

"steven" you said softly as you kneeled down next to him slowly, not trying to startle him

Stevens breathing picked up as he hugged his knees tighter, his vision fogging up as his head felt fuzzy, he shook his head harshly side to side trying to regain focus

"Steven hey... steven stop it, it won't help" you said in a gentle voice as steven vision slowly came back to him, continuous tears streaming down his cheeks

'Y-Y/n?" steven hoarse voice asked as his hands gripped on your arms

"Yes darling, it's me, it's alright, you're alright" your tone gentle as you hushed him, he immediately wrapped his arms around you tightly sobbing into your chest as his body shoke

you played with the curls at the back of his head trying to sooth him. steven's breathing picked up again as he sobbed make it difficult for him to breathe.

"Steven, hey baby look at me, okay? breathe" you said as he stared you directly in the eyes, he tried to catch his breath but quickly failed shaking his head, sobbing harder

"Steven look, it's alright. I'm right here yeah? just breath. breathe with me, alright darling?” Steven nodded and you both began to take deep breathes “there we go” you smiled softly at him as he sniffled “hold me please" steven voiced muffled as he hid his face against your chest

you nodded softly as you wrapped your arms around his shaking figure. you began to run your fingers through his hair, messaging his scalp. feeling his tense body relax against your touch.

after a couple minuets of holding him, he lifted his chest from your chest as he looked at you, his eye's showing signs of exhaustion and his cheeks still wet with tears, it made your heart clench seeing him like that "I love you" steven said his voice still a bit strained. a smile spread on your lips "I love you too, Steven. you're never alone, I'm always going to be here, always" steven nodded sniffing softly "can I kiss you?" steven asked, his voice soft.

“You don't need to ask my love, we’re dating" you chuckled as you moved some strands of hair out of his face, his cheeks reddened "sorry love" He laughed softly before kissing your lips softly, placing his hand on the side of your face.

you smiled against his lips as you kissed. the kiss causing butterflies to erupt in you’re stomach.

after a couple seconds you pulled away for air. you leaned your forehead against his as you smiled, steven shot you toothy grin and you giggled "come on pretty boy let's go lay down"

summary: you flinch when Jake moves towards you in an argument

Jake was pacing in the bedroom of Stevens flat while you were standing by the edge of the bed, You and Jake were fighting harrow but when he yelled at you to run you refused causing yourself to be thrown into the side of a car and land unconscious by one of Harrows men. After the fight was over Jake carried you home in his arms repeatedly kissing the side of your head but as soon as you woke up he was scolding you.

“You could’ve died mi amor” his voice was shaky but also filled with rage as he ran his calloused fingers through his dark curls, you never said a word, you knew you should’ve listened to him but you wanted to make him proud. “are you even listening?” Jake strode forward and roughly grabbed you by your chin, immediately your hand flew to cover you face “Jake please” you pleaded trying to move away from him except when you finally opened your eyes you saw how his face had dropped, his eyes slightly wide “princesa…i would never hurt you” his hand moved from your chin to cupping your face “never” he leant down and planted a kiss to your harline, you softened into it and sighed. when he pulled away he knelt down so you were eye level

“i was so scared, i thought i was losing you y/n when you woke i let my worry turn into anger…no puedo perderte mi amor…mi princesa mi mundo” you nodded your head and smiled up at him as a thumb gently swiped away your tears, he took a deep breath and you stood up to wrap your arms around his body “i love you Jake, i’m sorry for not listening to you i just wanted you to be proud” you sniffled and jake chuckled “oh baby i’m more than proud, you’re the bravest woman i know” he attacked your neck with kisses and you quickly squirmed in his hold, giggling as he did so.
