i was expecting the live performance to be disappointing (cause the oscars is such a circlejerk event) but wow they really made it worse than i thought. yeesh.

yes its bad but not bc any of the performers sang or rapped poorly, im not coming for any of them when i complain about this

it was bad bc of the amount of hype and expectation the academy put around this being a live performance of what is literally the world's most popular song rn, so many ppl were tuning in JUST to see this performance!!

not to mention that every commercial promoting it would play camilo's "7 FOOT FRAME, RATS ALONG HIS BACK" soundbite bc its arguably the most visually entertaining and catchy part of the song to get everyone excited

bUT THEN CAMILO'S PART WAS CUT COMPLETELY FROM THE PERFORMANCE NOT JUST HIM BUT DOLORES' AND ISABELA'S TOO AND FOR WHAT??? FOR NEW LYRICS THAT PRAISED THE OSCARS FOR SOME REASON??? FOR A NEW FUCKING CHORUS ??????

when a song gets nominated for an oscar theres always a live performance so while many (including me!) were happy dos oruguitas was getting recognition there was a bit of "aw man it wouldve been so cool to see a live vers of wdtab" SO WHEN IT WAS ANNOUNCED THERE WOULD BE ONE ANYWAY EVERYONE WAS ECSTATIC!!!!!

literally everyone ive talked to and seen posting around (and me too!!) were expecting a broadway level performance, to see the lighting used in the movie, the choreography, creative movie inspired set design, THE VOICE ACTORS SINGING THEIR PARTS etc bc thats par the course for an oscar musical performance!!

IN FACT BC WE KNEW BRUNO'S VA WAS THERE EVERYONE WAS EXPECTING HIM TO EITHER MAKE A SNEAKY APPEARANCE OR GET A NEW LINE IN THE SONG!!
