Anon, I feel such affection for you for sending this prompt. This one is...this is silly, it's a goofy kiss, there's definitely tongue involved but it's a silly story. Contains a couple of references to a previous fic of mine, because I am nothing if not self-referential.

[SCENE: main floor of office, with employees seated at desks. YAMADA hurries in, fumbling with his backpack--

A chin settles on Shiguru's shoulder, and thick braids tickle his ear. "So what script is this? Another historical drama?"

"No, I just got this one from my agent, there's an audition coming up for--" Shiguru looks up from the script in alarm. "When did you get here? I thought you were on Crystalia for another week and a half."

He feels Takamichi grin rather than seeing it, struggling as he is to turn and look at him when Takamichi is resolutely refusing to be helpful. "Yeah, I'm supposed to be, but they didn't actually need me for anything, so I left. Mabushiina's probably going to kill me for it later."

"And that doesn't concern you at all?"

"Shiguru, I have spent...I've spent actual decades being responsible about things, I can handle her being irritated with me the once. So what's the script?"

"I'll tell you if you stop hovering behind me like that, I should never have given you a key to my apartment."

Takamichi lets out a sort of amused huff, straightens up, and then simply steps entirely over the couch to sit down next to him. "Ok, sure. What's the script if it's not a historical?"

"It's an audition script for an upcoming television drama." Shiguru gestures vaguely with the sheaf of papers in his hand. "One of these office BLs that have gotten so popular recently, I've worked with the director before and he invited me to try out."

Takamichi's eyebrows go up. "Was that sci-fi kissing movie a big success or something?"

"No, it doesn't come out until October." Shiguru flips through the script again, frowning vaguely. "But there have been a couple of very successful BL dramas lately starring actors who started off in tokusatsu and I think the director is hoping to manage the same success with other action stars." He glances up at Takamichi. "I'm not helping you and Sayo get onto the set of this one, especially not if you intend to behave like you did last time."

Takamichi's eyes go wide, and he says, as innocently as possible, "I don't know what you mean, we were both very excited to get to see you at work."

"A little too excited, I don't want to get a reputation as someone who's always disappearing off the set to go...rendezvous with his girlfriend. Or her boyfriend."

"Mm. I take your point."

For a while they sit in relative silence, Shiguru murmuring under his breath as he reads lines off of the audition script and Takamichi watching him. At one point Takamichi gets up and goes to get them both water, which Shiguru thanks him for vaguely, but then everything returns to silence again.

Finally Shiguru lowers the script, and Takamichi says, cheerfully, "So can I help you get ready for the audition?"

A sidelong look. "What did you have in mind?"

"Well, I'm always happy to assist with prep for any kissing scenes, wouldn't want to disappoint your fans by looking like you're out of practice."

"This--Takamichi, this is an audition, this is the script for the first episode, they're not asking anyone to kiss anyone." Shiguru stares fixedly forward and not at Takamichi, raising his hand to rub at what Takamichi realizes is a recognizable red mark just below the collar of his shirt, voice dropping to a mumble with, "Besides, between you and Sayo I'm never out of practice."

"I thought she said she was going to stop biting you so much."

"She gets carried away, I don't really mind. In any case if you want to kiss me you should just say so, don't make it a work thing, that's strange."

Takamichi does not, in fact, say anything, because he's obnoxious, but at this point Shiguru knows him well enough to recognize the affectionate/smug/focused look on his face. Fortunately he has enough time to get his script out of the way on a side table before he's knocked onto his back on the couch.

Which is only sustainable for so long, they break for air after a moment and Takamichi grins down at him. "You're right, you don't seem out of practice."

"I should hope not." Shiguru is distinctly breathless, and feels like he might be a bit pink in the face. "Although I hope they don't expect me to kiss anyone like that on evening television."

"Who knows?" Takamichi's grin gets wider. "Maybe the television-watching public's about to get lucky."

Here we go, another Tremendously Dramatic Public Kiss for the record books, and anon, this is a wild pairing, I love it.

The Jamenshi's gone to ground, the six of them have split up into pairs to find him, and Shiguru's just starting to think that it might be worth breaking for ten minutes to eat something when Tametomo goes tense next to him and says, "Shit."

He tenses too, looking around the square they're in for signs of the enemy. "What? Did you see something?"

"Yeah, but not what you're thinking." Tametomo grabs his elbow and there's some awkward shuffling, and it takes Shiguru a moment to realize that--

"Are you trying to hide behind me?"

"Yes, I'm trying to hide, please work with me here."

Shiguru frowns, pulling his arm free. "Hide from what? We haven't had any luck with finding the--"

"No, no, it's not the Jamenshi, there's a guy I don't want to talk to and if he sees me he's going to come over, hide me."

"You could have just said that, I'm familiar with the issue. Although I'm assuming he isn't trying to get you to read his screenplay."

Tametomo groans. "No, god, I wish. He's a big Melee guy, he's been trying to get me to play competitive for three years now."

This is approximately as clear as granite. Shiguru can feel his forehead wrinkling in confusion. "He does hand-to-hand sparring?"

"Super Smash Brothers Melee." Tametomo stares at him for a moment, visibly realizing that Shiguru has no idea what he's talking about, and continues with, "It's a video game for the Gamecube."

"Oh, I have heard of that, isn't that a game for children? And, ah. Isn't it...really old?"

"They're all games for children, man. But also yes, it's a kid's game, and yes, it's twenty years old. Shit, I think he might have seen me."

Across the plaza, a man wearing slightly over-large glasses and a shirt with a cartoon character on it is peering at them suspiciously. As Shiguru watches, he leans forward and adjusts his glasses, frowning. He has seen them.

Much nearer by, a teenage girl has also seen them, and when she realizes that Shiguru's spotted her she turns bright red and says, "I'm sorry, are you Oshikiri--"

"Yes, that's me." He's struck by a brilliant idea, lowers his voice, continues with, "Could you keep your voice down, please? I'm actually on a date and we're trying not to attract too much attention."

Tametomo starts making sputtering noises. The girl squeaks, loudly, and says, "Really?" and then, more quietly now, "Oh, uh, sorry, really?"

"Yes, and actually we were just trying to find a pearl tea place, I was sure I remembered there being one here and I think I've gotten turned around. You don't happen to know where it is, do you?"

"Ohhh, yeah, I love that place, here, it's this way."

Shiguru grabs Tametomo's hand and drags him along as the teenage girl leads them to the pearl tea place, which is right where he remembers it being. He signs her phone case in permanent marker as he and Tametomo are sitting down in the cafe's outdoor seating area, watching out of the corner of his eye as the man in the too-large glasses starts cutting across the plaza towards them.

"Tametomo," he says, calmly, "if you punch me right now I'm going to be very upset."

"Shit, he's definitely spotted me, I do not want to deal with this guy right--wait, why would I punch--"

Shiguru leans across the table and kisses him.

The man in the too-large glasses stops in his tracks, blushing so vividly that Shiguru can see it even at a distance, and turns around. Despite this immediate sign of success, Shiguru keeps it up until the man's out of sight, and then, finally, sits back down and brushes himself off. "All right, there we go."

Tametomo stares at him. "What the hell was that?"

"He seemed like someone who'd be embarrassed by public displays of affection."

"I'm embarrassed by public displays of affection. And it's going to kill my FGC rep if he starts telling people he saw me making out with an actor at a bubble tea place, everyone thinks I'm a tough guy." Tametomo frowns, still red in the face. "Although if it got really bad maybe I could just play it up, make it a whole thing, start running point Morrigan or something. Also, damn," rubbing his mouth with the back of his hand, "you kiss your girlfriend like that?"

"No, I kiss her boyfriend like that, Sayo's more aggressive about things." Shiguru waves to a server--he has been getting hungry, if they're sitting down then he might as well order something.

"That is terrifying, she is so scary sometimes."

"Now are you going to tell me why it's a problem that this man wants you to play Super Smash Brothers...Brawl?"

"Melee, Brawl is for the Wii. I--" Tametomo pinches the bridge of his nose. "Look, so, competitive Smash in general is an inherently reductive approach to the game, and that's already a problem, but--"

Their changers go off, and Sena's tinny voice comes through with, "Hey, we found it, could everyone please get to my location as soon as possible?" followed by an explosion that's audible to both of them and everyone else in the plaza.

Shiguru sighs. "I didn't even get any tea."
