I really want to do my end of year sappiness post right now so I am going to do it. This year. This year, this year was the year that the fact that I made it is something I have to talk about it, because honestly I wasn’t sure between everything. And in the trauma (the activated Jewish Trauma Genre), in the hate I have also found love. Am Yisrael Chai. We live. I live.

Which is why I have to first send my love to my Jewish Mutuals/Friends and to Jumblr - @cephalopodvictorious @captainlordauditor and just, every one of my Jewish Mutuals and people who have sent kind words. Who have made me, a patrilineal mizrahi jewish woman reconnecting with her heritage and faith because of abuse feel Jewish enough to go to Synagogue.

This year was, despite everything the year I reconnected with old friends (shout to my friends in physical space - E, R, C and C), I took an art class, I swam more, I wrote a bunch of words, I found my love of art again and discovered that I might, might be good at it, I even asked for things like gifts even though it’s Terrifying.

Shipper Tag Game

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care about anymore?

Hmmm, a hard question right off the bat, because even if I am no longer actively seeking the ship content out anymore, usually I retain a lot of fondness for it, so there are precious few ships I used to be into and that I am simply meh about now, but I think it would be ShikaIno, from Naruto. Canon came at me hard, so while I have some fondness for it, it is what it is, and I am not that much into Naruto anymore either way, so it doesn't hurt much.

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

Simba/Nala? Lol 😂 but in all seriousness, I think it would be BatCat. Or Aragon/Arwen, I am very hazy on the details when exactly I imprinted on those, the timeline is not clear

3. Your first fanfic was about which couple?

Read or written? Read: no idea, I think it might have been some self-insert into Inuyasha universe? Written: Sirius/Remus

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw fanart of?

Nope. When I discovered the internet I discovered all of it at an alarming pace, but my bet would be on either Sirius/Remus or some couple from W.I.T.C.H

5. Have you ever gotten into ship discourse?

I try not to. I have opinions, yes, and I like discussing them with friends, but I try not to make it anyone's problem - everyone will ship what they want to ship and find different dynamics compelling, so I don't think it necessary to crusade one way or another because one ship is superior to another. It's all very subjective.

6. Did you use to have any NOTP or have one currently?

I have quite a bit! Funnily enough I have some canon ships I absolutely dislike and can go off about whenever I catch a poor, innocent victim to listen to my rant.

But my general rule is that I don't like OT3s. In any fandom, in any form, it's just not for me at all. To make matters worse, I am a monoshipper at heart, which usually means that I have a dynamic/ship that I like with characters A and B, and it makes me lose interest in all the other configurations with them. So maybe not an active NoTP but very unlikely for me to read A/C if I committed myself to A/B.

Special shout out to Weilanzun, because this is my most recently acquired NOTP.

And to Batman/Talia Al Ghul which is my longest reigning one.

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

Zhou Ying/Bai Ling from Tai Sui 🥺 my poor white half-demon, hopelessly devoted to his prince... And so few fics with them ;_;

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

Plenty. I don't abandon old ones, I just collect them together in my jar of ships and rattle it from time to time, to see how they sparkle together.

But from my most recent and long-term commitments: Weilan, Luolin, Heixie, Luo Qingeng/Jiang Yang (do they have a name???) and BatCat, forever and ever

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Well, the story is a story, so as long as it makes sense that these characters do not end up together, then I am okay with it, that's what we have fanfiction for, right?

BUT

I am still not over that wedding stunt DC Comics pulled with BatCat. Months of teasing, of promising the wedding, the freaking wedding albums being released and then the WEDDING DIDN'T HAPPEN. They broke up instead because Batman has to be the dark, sad, lonely something something and you can't be a hero if you have a wife. 50 years and DC Comics is going backwards in this regard :/

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

Not sure? Nothing comes to mind. But I am very open to being pulled into/converted into ships as long as they are not on my black list, and even then I try to keep an open mind, in case something clicks.

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, would've been considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?

Hah, a lot, because I got into shipping as a teenager. So reading romances about other teenagers felt normal and all but now I don't feel the need to revisit them.

12. What is your favorite crack ship?

Ha. Not today, Satan. One moment I am joking about a crack ship and the next I have 10k words written about it and like 3 sad headcanons and a shipping chart ready.

13. What is the couple you read the most fanfics about?

Oh wow, good question. If I like a ship, then I tend to read through the entire Ao3 tag of theirs, sometimes more than once because what if I missed some gem in the first go? So it would come down to the sheer numbers of fics, I think. So that would be either Sterek, Stucky or Eames/Arthur (fun fact: this is also the first fandom that introduced to me the concept of derivs)

14. What do most of your ships usually have in common?

Devotion. Very often the conflict between their feelings and their duties/ loyalty towards something they cared about before they met the other.

I like both sides of the ship to be competent at their respective fields and torn apart by their own choices and priorities. The 'I love you but do I love you enough to abandon everything I am'?. I like both answers more or less equally: both the 'yes, it's us against the world now' and 'I hope we won't meet on the battlefield' are set ups I enjoy immensely. But I also like smart-asses annoying each other into marriage one witty comeback at a time.

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

Imbalance of attachment. If the ship seems terribly one-sided, like one character is putting in all of the work and tries and tries, and tries while the other mercifully sometimes acknowledges them, then it's a no for me.

Same with the 'if you patiently wait for this person to like you, even though they told you 10 times they won't, then they eventually will' trope, like someone's love is what you earn through steadiness and hard-work.

I like both parts to be equally unwell about their partner, one way or another. They can be sickeningly domestic and gushing, or they can be crazy in that 'no one defeats him, but me!' kind of way, but they have to be in balance on the insanity scale. I like when characters grow into their relationship and both affect one another, falling more and more in love with each other as they go, but not when one person is a prize the other has to win/outwait/earn.

The Spotlight Fics For Less Popular MHA Characters:

spit to the left, carry on (smile & say you're good) by jublis

An examination of Jirou's life and relationships and her thoughts on life and death during the lead up to the Kamino Ward fight. Almost hauntingly beautiful and existential in its descriptions of a person's life and how it all, in one way or another, is just a lead up to their death. But it's beautiful. Jirou is an amazing character, and I thank God that this fic exists if for nothing else, to give her development and depth that the show can't. I'd even go so far as to say this is essential MHA fic reading.

bff (brother friend forever) by carolinaa

A collection of snapshots showing Iida and Uraraka's friendship, where they're really just bratty siblings that love each other just so much. As always with this author, great writing style, fantastic characterization, and hit me in the fucking feels.

Imperceptible by lunarecrypt

A Hagakure-centric fic was something I did not know I needed, but now I'm glad I have it. Hagakure needs stealth advice from Todoroki, and she finds out the barest bones of his backstory and why he is the way he is. I always love fics about less popular characters, and I especially love them when they're told from the perspective of an underappreciated character. I really like Hagakure, and I wish there was more available content about her.

An adorably sweet Tsuchako one-shot, because we need more Tsuchako fics in this fandom. And just more content in general with Tsu and Ochako.

The Todoroki siblings all come together for Christmas for the first time in years when they hear that Endeavor will be out of town during the break. Very painful, but also the most realistic depiction of estranged siblings that clearly love each other, but don't know how to act around each other. Fantastically written, and it's told from Natsuo's perspective, which is a refreshing take on this genre of Todoroki family recovery fics.

A series of snapshots featuring the Big 3 (Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki) as a throuple. How they got together, how they feel about each other, and what their relationship means to each other. I love the Big ot3 and this is just happiness and adorableness incarnate.

Fuyumi finally gets a place of her own and leaves Endeavor. Short but sweet, it perfectly encapsulates what it feels like to finally get away from an abusive parent. I have always loved the Todoroki siblings, but I feel like Fuyumi is always woefully under-looked in favor of her brothers, so it's always nice to see fics that are about her specifically.

Hi! I'm Ani (they/them), I'm a queer scientist, and I'm here to boost friends' creativity. Alas, I tend to panic over my own. I enjoy sending asks to support others' brainrot; I love getting asks, too. I tend to write about queer characters in my favorite universes where my blorbos can find a place they belong no matter what baggage they carry.

Current fandoms: Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), Pillars of Eternity, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. (Forever fandoms include Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and the Legend of Heroes series.) Expect additional random content from various anime, manga, video games (like Potion Permit!), and novels. Plus lots of flailing reblogs showing off what others love. I like to ramble in the tags sometimes!

FYI, I'm making progress in Pillars of Eternity but am somehow still in Act 2 of my first BG3 run, so I am behind in my knowledge of these worlds, haha.

Main OCs I talk about here: Shion Miller (Attack on Titan), Natsuki (Pillars of Eternity), Vix Ternion (BG3), Neri Surana (Dragon Age), Lynn Shepard (Mass Effect), Winter Shepard (Mass Effect). Of these characters, I'm actively writing for Shion and Neri. I have a post to add/remove interest in being tagged for Shion's fic here. And this page offers a more detailed overview of my various OCs! This blog isn't always a positive space because real life is hard, but I strive to uplift others more often than not. Happy five years of fic posting to me! 🎉

No but seriously, where have five years gone? They've shot by in a flash.*

*That was a pun. Hope you're proud of me.

On 21st Dec, 2017, I posted The Centre Cannot Hold, a neurodivergent Ray Palmer fic. (After a conversation with @habibialkaysani when she encouraged me to write what I wanted to read. It's all her fault!)

So here's a self-made fic meme to celebrate...

Soph’s Fic Meme

My favourite of my fics is... the rarely-read ColdWave neighbourfic, Mending Wall. There's a cute kid, lots of feels, and far more rambly plot than I was expecting when I started.

My fluffiest fic is... maybe the ColdFlash coffee shop meet-cute Better Latte Than Never - but the sequels are an angst fest (sorry, @blueelvewithwings!). Or there's this coldwestallen ficlet about pillows. (Literally) as fluffy as I get. It will never happen again.

My funniest fic is... the Retired Rogues series. In which retirement is not going so well for our ColdWave, till Mick takes things into his own hands. (I can't do funny, so I'm quite proud of these. I'm also quite proud to have been accused of Problematic Fic, for Mick plotting behind his partner's back. Sure, that's the most problematic thing about... ColdWave. 😁)

My saddest fic is... Rebuild, from deep in the depths of my angst-writing days. But it was hard to choose, for there are too many.

A fic I almost didn't post is... The Way Out (Mick Rory and self harm - read the content warnings). Write what you need to write, kids, even if involves stigma or you get ableism for it. Someone will be glad you did. Someone might be you.

The fic I had most fun writing is... Stealing Time & Saving Time. In which Len can't deal with his new powers and the boys can't deal with each other... until Iris steps in and bashes their heads together. (Can't have ColdWestAllen without the traditional Iris head-bashing.)

My favourite ship to write is... ColdWave. Still. Always. Gehenna is the ColdWave headcanon that I will be still talking about in the nursing home when I'm 90. The nurses will ask, of the roguish criminals they think I might have made up, "Did you know them when you were young, love?" and I will smile and nod.

My favourite femslash ship to write is... NewsHacker. They are perfect. The Mystery was fun to write. Zamaya are another fave.

My favourite OT3 to write is... You're expecting ColdWestAllen, aren't you? And you'd be right. But I have a soft spot for Rogue Canary too.

My favourite non-romantic pairing to write is... Len and Lisa. Love a sibling relationship that complicated. Many headcanons.

My favourite character to write is... Mick Rory. Still. Always. (You can tell because I've written 45 fics with him in.) Here's one.

My favourite neurodiversity fic is... Runs in the Family, with ADHD speedsters. I loved writing my ND Legends fics (like Meds) too.

The fic I remember writing most clearly is... Words. Inspired by a prompt/thought from @stungunmilly2 about autistic Mick, who struggles with spoken words but can't stop writing them. And then I couldn't stop writing it for three days. Writer!Mick is a mood.

My favourite 'written out of spite' fic is... Still Queer (Captain Canary)

My most-read fic is Can't Take That Away From Me (ColdFlash). I'm pretty happy to see it in first position, on balance. It was fun to write. (And I'm really sorry about still leaving the sequel unfinished)

My least-read fic is (Getting Past the) Pride and Prejudice - pt 2 of a NewsHacker series that is admittedly not very good, but still - Iris/Zari, okay?

The WIP I most regret not finishing is... Take The Keys (And Drive Forever). Lisa Snart-centric, would have been KillerGold if I'd got far enough with the Caitlin part, and it was going to be spooky.

My favourite gen fic is... Remember. Zari Tomaz's last moments in the timeline.

My crackiest fic is... (Here's To The) Tears and Beers and Wasted Years. ColdWestAllenWave with comedy therapy and time travel and being trapped and phobias and evil doppelgangers and flashbacks and future kids and feels. You're welcome.

And finally... it's Winter Solstice. Have an (old) Christmas fic. It's a (mostly) cute folk tale AU. A Single Matchstick to Light a Fire.

Flu O'clock came about because I wanted to write about the boys experiencing mundane/every day things. As I already made Rush have an allergic reaction in a previous fic, it s Telford's turn in this one to get sick, along with a large portion of the crew as the illness spreads itself around. Now Rush has to play nursemaid whilst balancing on the very thin tightrope of not making it obvious he's doing so, or else Telford will bite his head off. 💀 Also got a bit of Telford & Young friendship in there for good measure. OT3 feeling fic just without Young being part of the sex lmao

"Give me your forehead," Rush ordered. Telford obeyed, sighing with relief as a cool rag was laid there, threatening to drag him straight back into sleep. "Update," he managed, through painfully gritted teeth. Rush scoffed. "No one's died yet," he offered, completely unhelpful. Telford forced his eyes open, knowing his ability to glare was likely severely hampered in his current state. Not that Rush had ever been much affected by anyone glaring at him anyhow. "Absolutely nothing has happened," Rush complained. "Get back on your feet or I'm going to set something on fire out of sheer boredom." "I live," Telford sarcastically managed, "to entertain you."

We're Brothers, You And I is a Durham County fic, a TV show I watched solely because it has Louis Ferreira being a Hot Seral Killer in it. The mood between him and the main character is about as homoerotic as it can possibly get: as in, when they were teenagers they made a blood pact to be forever-brothers, along with a chant they had to recite and everything… 👀 They're both 18 in the fic, and it features the series' main character manipulating LF's character into sex through an increasingly more serious game of gay chicken. And of course, because I can never help myself, we get a healthy dose of angst too!

Ray doesn't want to think about what is happening. He doesn't want it to be happening in the first place because he doesn't know what to do; one wrong move and Mikey will know. He'll be able to look at Ray and see straight through him, to the disgusting thoughts he has sometimes. He's tried to stop them but they always worm their way back in. It's not a problem, he tells himself, he's only looking at the other boys in the locker room to compare himself, to get an idea of the competition. Except they've already had multiple measuring contents and the thoughts haven't gone away, stroking themselves to hardness right there in front of everyone and it's always been a toss up whether Ray is hard before he even gets a hand on himself or if he can't get it up at all. He prefers the latter because at least then he can talk big that of course he's going to struggle because there are no girls here, are there? And he's not some sort of fag. That always shuts the other boys up. It also means he doesn't have to participate and end up in the bottom half of the ranking again, biting his tongue to keep the shame securely clamped inside his chest. One of the very few useful lessons his father had taught him before splitting was don't let them know they can hurt you. If they know it hurts they'll never stop picking at it. Teach yourself to be something that doesn't hurt.

I think he already did. Which is some glorious tension in the dynamic - but they just have Vibes Of Ex Something(s) - enemies, lovers - enemy lovers? Consider:

Norwich’s line in the promo to Thomas ‘you ruined any trace of me’ and just The Emotions In That Delivery! Rupert Graves the things you do to me!

That look that James Frain has Cromwell when he sees Norwich - it’s so intense and he’s so so still in it, there’s definitely a history there.

Let alone Norwich’s recognition and…possessiveness I want to call it? It’s definitely also intense - like he’d found something/someone precious to him that he thought he’d lost forever.

My theory is that they were lovers in Italy in the period between Liz Cromwell dying and Thomas returning to England and while John had always wondered what might have been, had thought he’d lost Thomas forever for whatever reason (maybe John’s work for the Duke of Norfolk? It seems like there’s going to be a conflict there?) and Thomas had thought it was temporary!

THE DELICIOUS ANGST AND WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEENS !!!! I need 50K on my desk by next week.

Fluff Xmas fic gift from kaeaea_ko (from Twitter). Thank you so much for the wonderful story for them! Added some drawings just to see how cute they all look together.

A peal of laughter rang down the corridor and into Diavolo’s office where he remained attending to all the perpetual duties that came with his position. Barbatos, positioned across the room and attending to his own tasks, did not even look up at the sound - but Diavolo paused and looked longingly at the closed wooden door, somewhat akin to a fornlorn puppy.

He’d long since opened his home for Moin to come and go as they pleased even before they were engaged, and then later down the line that offer had extended to Mammon too while in Moin’s company; while Diavolo could not empathize with the notion of having his loved ones around too much, he was sympathetic to the fact that Mammon was often on the receiving end of his brother’s over-eager... ‘teasing’. So had opened his castle and home to Avatar of Greed, more importantly - the dearest friend of his beloved. Barbatos still kept a keen eye on all the castle’s contents, of course...

Another outburst of jubilance, further yet from the studious pair, and the Demon Prince refocused on his work with a long sigh. The two visitors were generally very conscientious and rarely disrupted anything; but how could he begrudge interruptions like this? Moin and Mammon’s friendship seemed to bloom forth in a steadfast, wholesome joy. Diavolo remained quietly envious, a secret lament that he held deep within the recess of his heart. He’d never tell a lie - but there were some truths that would never spill free. And that playful, unburdened loyalty that Diavolo couldn’t hope to duplicate, forever conscious of all his duties and responsibilities at play.

More than once early on the demon had thought that it would be kinder to ‘let Moin go’ - free from his love, and an inevitably somewhat trammeled future. But at the root of it all, he was a demon, and all demons coveted. Moin was his greatest light in a land untouched by the natural sun. He believed that he would let her go should the fates ever be as cruel as to turn her heart cold towards him - but while she did he would be holding onto them with all he had. That compulsion drove him to provide Moin with all that made her happy.

A cleared throat and Barbatos’ mild amused look pulled him back to the moment - refocusing on work indeed.

“Young master, are you quite well?"

Amusement bled into the butler’s tone too, and Diavolo huffed good-naturedly. “Oh fine, fine. I have reports burned into my retinas, but otherwise fine.”

“Hm. Perhaps a break is in order the? It would only be proper for you to go and greet your guests also, no matter how often they are here."

An unexpected encouragement that did not need to be expressed twice, and far exceeded the appeal of attempting an escape from his work via the balcony. Diavolo put his work down (or rather dropped it in a manner that had Barbatos straightening things in exasperation), followed the sounds, and found himself tat the top point of the staircase, looking down at the scene below. He did not announce his presence; acquisitive of the seconds he was merely a witness to. He’d go as far as to call the sight salubrious, mood and exuberance lifted by even this.

The foyer was adorned in Christmas decorations - another human tradition Diavolo wholeheartedly adored - and the heart of the display was the enormous tree decked with baubles, lights and tinsel, the latter being the apparent source of amusement. Mammon had pulled a rope of gold tassels from the tree and had wrapped it around himself, posturing and preening at Moin who sat on the large velvet couch, clapping and encouraging him. Despite the obvious and foolishness of the action Mammon still held himself in just a way, truly it was no wonder he found such success in modelling.

Unable to resist any longer he started down the stairs and called, “is this a new signature look, Mammon?”

Mammon’s face paled and he scrambled to return the tinsel to the tree, resulting in more of a clump of gold near the bottom than any semblance of order, and Diavolo was content to let him scramble while he and Moin shared amused looks. That smile he loved so much sent his way, his own wide one returned in kind. It would probably be quite the sweet moment were it not broken by what could best be described as a squawk.

“Hey Dia UH I mean Lord Diavolo! Just uhh, checking you had ya decorations on right! Looks erm...” Mammon seemed to trail off as he reached behind himself and awkwardly patted the tree, “yep all looks fine. Ya welcome!"

Diavolo shook his head fondly and descended the last of the steps. He stopped beside Moin and pressed a kiss into their hair at the crown of their head, leaving his large hand resting on a delicate shoulder.

“Oh? It looked to me as though you were parading about in the Christmas decorations. Haha, I can see why Lucifer calls you his cutest brother.”

Mammon turned a bright red at that comment, puzzling Diavolo slightly; was he still so sensitive to compliments? He didn’t pay it any more mind however as Moin was turning her face up towards him, sweet voice plying his attention with only a breath of his name. Without a thought he leaned down to press his lips against her pliant ones that opened against his with a gasp. Too quickly Diavolo pulled back, his own cheeks dusted in red. They were no strangers to intimacy in this home yet typically not so blatantly in front of company. He couldn’t say he was sorry, because that would be a lie. “That was inappropriate,” was verbalized instead, “I apologize.”

Moin laughed softly, glancing up, and Diavolo looked too; there above them hung a lush sprig of mistletoe, somehow in the perfect location.

“I’d better not be caught under there with anyone!!”

Diavolo could not help but laugh at Mammon’s indignant tone, his own contrite expression disappearing in his mirth. He looked at the younger demon again, and for reasons he could not hope to decipher he asked, “what if you were caught under it with Moin?”

For a moment the question hung suspended in silence. Diavolo could feel Moin’s eyes locked on him, yet he kept his own impassive gaze on Mammon. Motive aside, Diavolo could soundly say it was not impulsive. He’d seen how Mammon looked at Moin. It wasn’t anything Diavolo could hold against him; the Avatar of Greed seemed to go against his nature and remain content with Moin’s friendship, and Diavolo found himself wholly trusting of both of them and the bounds of their loyalty. And yet. Mammon looked at Moin with a consuming longing at times, and she seemed entirely oblivious of it.

There was even the chance that Diavolo was simply projecting - the notion of another being in love with Moin was entirely believable, they were, in Diavolo’s opinion, the perfect partner. Who would not yearn for that? Any potential feelings that Moin may have for Mammon outside of the realms of friendship the Demon Prince could not lay any claim to knowing, but he did know how happy the two made each other. Mammon was already such a fixture in their lives, and as surely as the lineage of Demon King flowed through his veins, Diavolo knew if there was any potential to increase her happiness, he would gift it to her without reservation. Diavolo was not immune to possessiveness; somehow this sudden errant thought did not incite that consummation.

Mammon was steadily paling again, terror building in his eyes - ahh, perhaps he had taken that comment as a threat? Quickly to rectify, Diavolo smiled wide, eyes crinkling into half-moons. “I wouldn’t mind. If it were you. If Moin wanted to.”

Another long pause; pregnant with anticipation and not a small amount of shock.

“W-what? I don’t wanna- I mean, Moin wouldn’t- what??”

“Hmm. Well I would never push anything of course. I know you two are beyond dear to each other. I hold you rather fondly too, Mammon, after all this time.”

It would seem his company were speechless. Why was he going down this road? He was more than content, more than happy in his relationship with Moin. What compulsion was this, to maintain this terse moment instead of breaking it with a joke, or an alternative comment-

“Moin. You are very quiet down there.” Attention turned solely back to his love, Diavolo let the silence draw out, no filling it this time.

“Maybe?”

“Maybe...?” Diavolo prompted back.

“Maybe I would like it?”

Moin and Mammon were both blushing to the roots, and Diavolo thought he almost deserved a medal for maintaining his own gentle but rather bland expression. Perhaps more of a prompt was needed.

Gesturing Mammon over, and who could deny the Demon Prince’s summons. The other demon stepped forward until his knees bumped against the couch, making him stumble forward and catch himself on the armrest and back, effectively trapping Moin against it, Diavolo himself still at her side. A squeak came from one of them, unclear whom, but Moin’s attention was ensnared by Mammon and Mammon’s by them, leaning towards each other like a timid gravity pulled between them. Barely a brush of lips, shy and fumbling, noses bumping - Diavolo knew that standing by and watching would not be easing this development in any way, yet if this were to come into being, he would need to be there, even if just a witness. Such a delicate thing, and Moin his to protect. No one could hurt you like the ones you loved, and Moin loved Mammon so very much. All that potential for heartbreak, all the more for undicovered happiness.

When no comment from himself interrupted, Mammon pushed forward again. His hands were gripping at the couch and Diavolo felt he could excuse the claws that he could see tearing into the fabric; amused and impressed that Mammon was so steadfastly holding himself back from holding Moin as he kissed them.

Soon, two quick breaths pulsed in the room. The mood hung charged and fragile. Diavolo winced apologetically when his DDD started ringing, Lucifer’s name flashing on the screen. A quick conversation with the other insisting on Mammon’s return to home, and he ended the call. Moin and Mammon were still pink, uncharacteristically silent, and staring at anything but each other. Diavolo felt as though his heart would burst from all the fondness he felt.

“Ah Mammon, unfortunately... Lucifer has called you back to the House. You’d best be on your way in a hurry.”

Mammon stammered his acknowledgement, Moin jumping to her feet too, with an aborted movement to hug the other demon before simply grabbing her hands together tightly instead.

“Oh and Mammon?” Diavolo called as Mammon was halfway out the door, “Moin and I are having a Christmas Eve dinner together tomorrow. Please join us?”

A quick nod, a slammed door, and Moin and Diavolo were left alone in the foyer. Softly and gently, Diavolo pulled Moin into his arms and pressed kisses atop her head, over and over. Her arms gripped him back tightly. Reassurance at this point was necessary, explanation could come later when they had worked through the moment. “Anything for your happiness, Moin. If either of you don’t want that, it will never be mentioned again. If you do want this, the door is open. You have my blessing; I know I hold your heart and I have no fear of losing it. But you deserve all the love you crave. I do love you so. Anything, anything, for your happiness.

... And you both do look so adorable with rose blushed cheeks.”

aarghghrghrhga i read all your other bllk fics and theyre all!! so! good!!! yes yes i am the last anon youve answered fhnadoif so sorry for sending so many asks nhnhng but! i really do want to tell how good it is! for starters, nagi's! the way his motives changed for why he started playing soccer is very cute. along with that, the 'opposites attract' troupe is good but subtle since they actually are kinda similar in some aspects (like,, idk but in my mind it works and i dont know how to explain,,,) i go by feeling/instinct so my bad if its not understandable. the ot3 is a great idea! would love to read if you write something abt it (esp bc i like poly and have too much love to give!). finally, the deleted scene you put is amazing! i can definitely understand both nagi's and reader's way of thinking with just that scene alone ww they crash but in a good way(?) (also i really liked when nagi called reader boss www 'on it boss' kinda thing ww)

First of all, thank you so much for your sweet asks! I had such a thrill reading and rereading your kind words on all of my blue lock fics, and I want to properly answer them with my full attention!

I think the opposites attract trope works really well with Nagi! I wanted to craft a reader who can push Nagi, and motivate him to grow! think you're right in that they're similar in the sense that they're both the sort of people who march to the beat of their own drum, and live in a world of their own. Reader thinks they have the world all figured out, and Nagi is content with how his life is. They both challenge each other's understanding of the world!

The ot3 idea would honestly be so fun <3 I would love to add Reo to the mix of their volatile dynamic, considering I did toy with the idea of Reo having an unrequited crush on reader for a while! I scraped it because I wasn't interested in it, ultimately, but I do love the idea of adding a reader to the reonagi dynamic and making them messier and worse... haha.

I'm glad you liked the deleted scene, too! It didn't fit with the direction I wanted the fic to take, but the idea of reader and nagi trying to figure out how feelings work together was very fun!

I also enjoy making nagi call reader boss bc it's so funny haha. He knows who runs the relationship!

I'm glad you liked the conversation reader and reo had over nagi! I think I'm just older now, but there's a certain sort of... maturity? I want to approach relationships with. Reader really did need a friend like Reo to give it to 'em straight, and to help sort out their feelings!
