What I like about them: CANON TENTACLE MONSTER

What I dislike about them: TBH the fact that his rage seems to often have no rhyme or reason makes his character less interesting to me. But he's Hidan's loving husband so he can stay.

Favourite moment: Him bickering with Hidan. Like he's painted as this ball of rage who only cares about money and murder but he bickers with Hidan like a married couple and even shows concern about Hidan's wellbeing. Love it.

Least favourite moment: Do NOT edo tensei this man.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: I lot of fans will make his money obsession 98% of his personality, but I think we all need to explore WHY he's obsessed with hoarding cash a little bit deeper. Why does Kakuzu need money? He doesn't appear to be spending it on anything. Does he have a secret hobby or goal? Does having a lot of money give him a sense of control or power Fanon, explain!!

An interesting AU for this character: I think it'd be fun to play with the fact that Kakuzu worked for a very long time as a very dangerous bounty hunter who worked for no one but himself. In other words: set him up with a squisher character in peril so he can go "whatever, i'll just kidnap you out of whatever stupid situation you're in." And then he does, because no one can stop him. :)

An assortment of headcanons!

The data books say his hobby is collecting old books, which I love, so I headcanon him as secretly very well read and into classic literature.

I don't think Kakuzu cares very much for people in general, but as long as you're kind of In His Life in a non-hostile way (like, another Akatsuki member), he is actually very willing to stand up for you and help you out if you're being ripped off by something. Like he'll tell you you're a dumbass for falling for a scam, but also he'll go beat the shit out of whoever scammed you. He will cancel your cable for you. RIP your utilities provider if they overcharge you. Please bring Kakuzu with you to buy a car-- he will love it.

The Car Ride [S3:E17]

A short discussion Jim and Ed have while they're driving to the meeting with the Court of Owls. The main topic? A certain mayor that's allegedly dead.

So I've watched Gotham. Actually, that's a lie. I binged Gotham in a week and now I'm watching it again, but with my mom because no one is safe from my fixations.

Watching Gotham means I got a new OTP. OT3. OT4 even considering I do ship Oswald and Ed and Jim and Lee all at once in a funny, mad little poly relationship. It's not even that far from canon, honestly, it's Gotham. Everyone slept with everyone at some point. But that's a later topic (soon, maybe).

This ficlet came to me because, honestly, I wanted to make fun of Ed and Jim. Especially Ed, considering he's so madly in love with Oswald but won't admit it. So, here are the two of them, calling each other out on their own bullshit.

They were driving.

The road to the harbor was quiet, and so it seemed way longer than it was in reality. They both knew it, they knew very well what that road looked like. Yet none spoke up. Not even the radio was playing. Just two, lost men, a cop and a cop murderer drowned deep in their thoughts.

Jim was tired. He didn’t sleep well for what seemed like ages by now, the road was dark, the car was quiet and his eyes felt strained. Lately there was no time for a break, his brain was running every hour of the day, to figure out the court, to protect the people of Gotham. To not think about Lee and Mario and the heavy, heavy guilt weighing his shoulders. To not think about the mayor, gone and dead by the hands of the very man taking the passenger seat right now. Sure, Cobblepot was a menace, a criminal and an insane murderer, but having him around was normal . It was something Gordon got used to, even despite himself. To think that he was really dead right now was… unsettling. And added to Jim’s pile of things to not think about.

The anger was bubbling softly in his abdomen, but he didn’t want to let it win. Instead, he let the tiredness take over. The kind that made his brain into a mush and his muscles into cotton candy, that could melt and let him fall any moment.

That would be more pleasant than sitting by Nygma right now.

The other man seemed emotionless. He was looking straight ahead, on the pitch black road, his eyes dark and unfeeling. He looked like a statue yet it was far from what was happening inside of his head. Contrary to Gordon, he couldn't make them shut up. But oh, he wished for it so much. For the thoughts, screaming at each other, to quiet down. He was lost, caught in a crossfire between Riddler, yelling about murder, revange, betrayal and raging like a monster and Ed, spilling riddles that had no sense. And in the middle was he, trying to focus on the goal, on the riddle that he had to solve, otherwise the two voices would drive him mad. Madder than he already was.

And detective Gordon, quietly driving them to the place of meeting, seemed to be an anchor. No, not because of the images of his suffering that Ed used to play over and over in his head since Arkham. Actually, it was because of the riddle. Jimbo was always a riddle, so righteous, always nice to Ed when they still worked together, sharp and quick with his deduction. Yet still morally gray. Knowing stuff that normal cops shouldn’t know. Like right now. Jim Gordon, out of all people, just had to know about Ed’s goal.

Still, the silence between the two men was long and awkward.

“What happened between you and Penguin?” The sentence felt like a violation. As if Jim grabbed the silence between them and ripped it in half with his voice, causing Ed to recoil in almost physical pain.

“What?”

“I’m just curious. You two seemed… close. And suddenly he’s dead.”

The implication was there. Oswald got close to Ed, he died. Miss Kringle got close to Ed, she died. Isabella-

Nygma didn’t know if it was intentional, but he took it as such. It was Jim he was talking with. Detective Gordon, smart and sharp and dangerous with his deduction.

“He killed someone close to me. It was revange.”

The word shouldn't feel so bitter on his tongue, but Ed still had to lick over his lips to get rid of the after taste. He thought that, in the darkness of the car, Gordon wouldn’t see.

“Was it worth it?”

The question felt weird, out of character and, to both men’s dread, hung in the air between them. Nygma saw how Jim cringed briefly, then furrowed his brows. Ed licked over his lips again.

“What’s with the chit-chat, Jimbo? Does it really matter? He’s gone. I was sure that you, out of all people, would be happy about it.”

Ed sounded irritated, bitter and, somehow, also weird. He knew it. He used all his strength to calm his nerves, to focus on his goal. And then he saw how Jim clenched his jaw, doing the same thing.

“Criminals murdering criminals should suit my book,” he said with voice gruffier, more annoyed. “But it’s still a murder.”

A soft laughter filled the car. Nygma smiled one of his wide, creepy smiles at Gordon.

“Don’t tell me you also wanted to put your hands on poor, ol’ Oswald? Considering how much of your hair turned white because of him I shouldn’t be surprised, but Jim , he was your mayor!” Jim kept quiet, focusing on the road. He shouldn’t have spoken. “Or… am I missing a clue here?”

“He should just go back to Arkham.”

“Oh! A fate worse than death for him! Cops really are sadists, aren’t they?”

Again, Jim didn’t answer. He met doctor Strange more times than he wished for. Usually, he tried to not think about the kind of therapy Penguin had to indulge.

Something on his face had to sell his thoughts to Nygma. He wasn’t sure what it could be, but Ed always had a knack for noticing tiny details.

“He was a criminal, you’re a detective. It was inevitable one of you had to die at some point. The only riddle here is: why do you suddenly care ?” Ed’s glasses glimmered dangerously. “You always seemed to hold a soft spot for Oswald. Is it because you let him live? Or because he considered you a good friend all this time? Is it the- maybe? Nobody wants me, But those who never have me, nobody wants. What am I? ”

Ed shut down his loud thoughts, waiting for an answer. Gordon could hear Harvey’s voice, calling him an idiot in his head.

But he indulged.

“Guilt. But no, I didn’t feel guilty about him. That sounds awfully honest though, Ed.”

Jim smirked, hearing a harsh inhale through the nose. He hit right in the spot, didn’t he? The anger, bubbling in his stomach, was making him vicious and petty and Nygma’s reaction gave him a short lasting joy. And now, that he took the initiative over their discussion, he was not going to let go of it.

“In any way, who cares . Oswald is dead. It’s time to forget about him,” hissed Ed. For a reason Jim would never speak about he tightened his grip on the wheel.

“You say so, and yet here you are. Penguin’s gone and you run around like a lost puppy, searching for its master. Kill random people, play with police, get yourself into schemes bigger than you. It’s like you lost your purpose and are frantically trying to replace it. What happened to the ruthless cop murderer that framed me? With a smart guy that had a plan for every occasion? What happened between you and Penguin, Ed?

The way Nygma got red was almost amusing to Jim. He never showed his emotions like that.

“I don’t need him,” huffed the criminal. “I never needed him, especially not with emotions getting in the way. He was naive and that was-” Suddenly Ed cut off and got quiet. Jim felt a piercing, furious glare on himself. It didn’t get rid of his smirk, nor the anger swirling in his stomach happily.

“ I can fill a room or just one heart. Others can have me, but I can’t be shared. What am I? ” He asked the riddle, thanking himself for that one night at the bar with Lucius once he was back from his break. Harvey was antsy about being reminded of the whole situation. And Gordon had fun.

“...loneliness.” Ed sounded crestfallen.

“Don’t you have to answer my way?”

“That’s enough .” Nygma chuckled but it sounded forced. Jim smiled wider, more proudly. “I don’t know what’s the purpose of your games, detective Gordon, but I suggest that we answer it the way of the person who’s holding the gun .”

Gordon knew Ed wouldn’t shoot him right now, he still needed him. But still decided to go with the other man’s suggestion.

The silence was back, but not for long.

Suddenly Ed chuckled and shook his head. He looked at Gordon again, a cunning smile on his face.

“You know, detective, if I didn’t know better I’d think you also sound awfully honest. Wouldn’t that be just pathetic of you, though?”

The anger in Jim’s belly was gone, leaving only tiredness so strong it was making him nauseous. His face fell, darkened and he felt a need to just punch Nygma to shut him up.

“We’re close,” he said, instead of answering, bringing back a heavy silence between the two of them.

Favorite character: Alina Starkov tbh. I love her entire arc, her embracing her gifts. That whole line, "I wasn't ready before" when coaxing out her light. I wish her story ended differently, but still I very much am loving show Alina especially.

Least Favorite character: ....you know who I am gonna say by virtue of who my favorite character is alone and my saying I hate her ending. IT IS MAL. IT'S MAL. IT'S THE COMIC SANS FONT JOCK CHILDHOOD FRIEND WHO IS SO UTTERLY BORING TO ME BOOK!MAL. Show!Mal is lightyears better.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Darklina, Kanej, Darkmalina (the duality of man here. oT3 it and suddenly it is good again), Helnik.... I don't have a fifth honestly.

Character I find most attractive: In the books? Kaz. In the show, the Darkling.

Character I would marry: ...my favs are all probably really bad to marry but fuck it, Darkling. Rip to Alina but I'm ready to rule the world.

Character I would be best friends with: Nina and Inej, I adore them both <3

a random thought: I live in fear of what Leigh Bardugo will do to Kaz in any soc follow ups because in interviews she has implied she feels he is too "far gone" and done too many bad things to have a happy ending.

An unpopular opinion: Alina shoulda kept her powers at the end of the series, even if they were diminished somewhat.

My Canon OTP: Kanej

My Non-canon OTP: Darklina-- I mean, it was kinda canon? But then it became very much We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together.

Most Badass Character: Inej ofc

Most Epic Villain: Hmm... villain wise, I think Pekka Rollins is more compelling than anything from the other series.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Malina, like YA ALREADY KNOW BY NOW...

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Eh, in the show I feel they missed the mark on Kaz a bit, but Jesper is so flawless I'm willing to overlook it.

Favourite Friendship: Jesper and Everyone to be honest. His dynamic with Inej and Kaz and Wylan (romantic too) and Nina...he's the heart of them so much and I love it.

Character I most identify with: Probably Nina. I too love waffles, crushing the hearts of my enemies and being delightful.

Character I wish I could be: Oh I wish I had half the coolness of Inej. I mean, it is the Truama(TM) but like-- she's so cool and her KNIVES and her resolve. Inej is goals.

One way I relate to this character: I too collect weird things and love superhero comics.

Thing that gives me secondhand embarrassment for this character: Why, why did he steal those mummies? What was the goal there?

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected? I didn’t really have any expectations tbh. I figured I’d write less than 2020 because there were (hopefully) going to be less lockdowns, but past that...

What’s your own favorite story of the year? For wildly different reasons: The Sword Comes Later, The Violet Hour, Brick by Brick, Courage, Dear Heart and Wake Up Call. And also Unburdened and Becoming because I will forever love my threesomeficverse.

Did you take any writing risks this year? I started sprinting in Discord, which isn’t really a risk but for some reason felt like one at the time (it was great). And I wrote parts of a fake biography, which was very challenging and wouldn’t have been possible without the stellar beta work of @inkvoices. OH and I wrote Clint/Sam/Nat for the first time, which is a ship I love love love and no one writes it. But then (slight aside) I’m not a huge fan of some of the decisions FATWS made regarding Sam Wilson so I guess that matters less... (Where’s my lovely VA counselor Sam Wilson, MCU? Where is he?)

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? There are ideas and sequels I want to write but past that, no.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Look, I love the non-fic installments of my RedStar verse and I wish more people would love them with me.

Most fun story to write: I giggled my way through writing The Sword Comes Later. It’s just so unrepentantly dumb, and with a hilarious narrative voice. It’s probably 2021′s Improper Fractions/Prime for me for those reasons.

Most unintentionally telling story: I’m fairly sure most of my fic is unintentionally telling...

Biggest disappointment: Not being able to sign up for Holly Poly. Not being able to write more for the PolyA Bingo. Not writing that Black Widow 2020 OT3 spinoff I keep thinking about (though that one I can still do)

Biggest surprise: I finally finished-slash-abandoned I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning.

My favorite part of fandom this year: @harishe-art, @alistrawrites and I started up The Poly Armory at the beginning of 2021, as somewhere to celebrate Clint/Nat/Bucky, and everyone who’s joined has been so nice and friendly and supportive. I’m not on there are much as I maybe should be, but it’s so nice to just... talk to people about my favorite disaster OT3. <3

It’s something I’ve been wondering about but, most of the league who worked closely with Shiggy seem pretty iffy about AFO taking over his body like: I live here now. ( Spinner vocalizing this )

So I wonder when ( and if hopefully we do ) we see Re-Destro again, I think he would be rather offended at this latest change tbh. This is the young man who showed him true freedom, and now he’s tangled in his own strings? I don’t think he’d appreciate that at all.

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I talk about this one with @leftofrevolution a lot, that while Re-Destro might sometimes find Shigaraki’s on-the-fly plans to be a bit frustrating (though he’s clearly capable of fairly fine-grained planning, as we see with the training camp attack), and thus might nominally appreciate All For One’s more structured approach, in practice, quite the opposite would be true. All For One, after all, is all about control, power for himself, subordination of all others. The only way to get more diametrically opposed to the ideals of Liberation would be to take positions like Overhaul’s and that group in the third movie, Humarize, wanting to annihilate quirks entirely.

I can’t imagine Rikiya would at all appreciate the whole possession thing. I mean, they’re one of my major BNHA ships and all, but even absent romantic feelings, it’s clear in the canon that RD is smitten with Shigaraki. Of course he’d hate seeing his savior and liberator, the youth who freed him after a lifetime of crushing burden, now laboring under a burden like this. And at least RD thinks his burden was noble! All For One doesn’t even have that going for him! (Indeed, not only is AFO ignoble, more to the point, he’s kind of insufferable.)

Rikiya’s values are all about being true to oneself, living freely, being unconstrained by laws that oppress one’s true self--and fighting, even dying, to ensure that others can enjoy that freedom as well. While he’s practical enough to understand the necessity of power when you’re fighting a war, power for its own sake was never the point. With that in mind, I think if RD could catch Shigaraki in a moment where Shigs was in control, he might suggest giving the quirk All For One away. Just transfer that shit into an insect, smash the bug (if the bug doesn’t instantly explode from power overload), and let Shigaraki’s loyal followers support him the way they will all happily do.

As I’ve also discussed with leftof, I expect Shigaraki’s too stubborn to go for it--if he even could; one imagines the quirk would fight him over it the same way One For All resists being stolen--but that wouldn’t stop Rikiya from proposing it. I like to think he’d do his best to advance Shigaraki’s goals as best he understands them--consulting with Spinner as needed, because this OTP is really an OT3--while striving to keep the faith (both his own and Spinner’s) that the young man the two of them saw shining so brightly in that crater could never be kept down by this evil shade forever. He’s freedom incarnate, after all, so it falls to his followers to do what they can to support him until he’s able to prove it.

My shipping goggles aside, I’m also inclined to think that AFO would have his own thoughts about Re-Destro, probably expressed in the form of assorted whispered heresies about Destro Classic that neither Re-Destro, the proud blood of Destro, nor Rikiya, the man who spent decades trying to fill those shoes, is in any way prepared to endure hearing. I have my own headcanon on the matter (AFO stealing Destro’s quirk once he was in prison, the despair of the loss being what pushed Chikara to suicide), but even the headcanon aside, it seems unlikely that All For One, villain extraordinaire, would have had no opinion at all one of Japan’s other infamous villains, the man who raised an army to fight against the government/heroes because of his beliefs on quirks. So, you know, even if Shigaraki weren’t in the picture at all, I think RD would find All For One profoundly uncomfortable.

Thanks for the ask! This is pretty much verbatim what I wanted out of canon, and while it’s not looking like I’m going to get it, I still enjoy talking about it. ‘S good practice for the fanfic, anyway.

do I like them: yes!!! she's a tough character to like sometimes because she can be so stubborn and coldhearted but she is a girlboss and i do just want her to be happy :( (not with henry talbot tho. anyone but henry.)

5 good qualities: oof but the way i can only think of like two LOL, anyway her loyalty (ill never be over how she cared for matthew when he was paralyzed), her wit, her resilience, her surprisingly open mind, and her incredible fashion sense

3 bad qualities: oooof. her spitefulness, her vanity, and her tendency to lash out at others to protect herself

favourite episode/etc: imagine picking just one... uhhh ok 2x05 when she was caring for matthew :)

otp: the only correct answer is mary/matthew obviously (but for her new suitors i'd say charles blake bc he was the only one who met my personal expectations of a suitor for her)

do I like them: not as much as other people on this site do tbh. unpopular opinion but being a well-written, multifaceted character is not the same as being a nice or altogether likable character. i suppose you could say i have very conflicting feelings about him

5 good qualities: mmmm loves kids, cunning (in a good way), ambitious. i can't think of any more sorry, the characters on this show have so many layers lol

3 bad qualities: can be selfish, dishonest, and amoral (i guess is the word?)

How I feel about this character: it’s funny... i really wasn’t expecting to relate to her At All considering how late she was introduced and her whole character seemed to begin and end at “gwyneth paltrow expy” but the more i reflect on my own situation in life rn... yeah, the whole “i have to make myself memorable SOMEHOW bc otherwise people will never take me seriously bc ive wasted most of my life anyway” thing is Way more relatable than it has any business being. i know feeling that way at 20 and feeling that way at 70 are two very different experiences but it hits hard regardless, and its something i still struggle with a lot. tl;dr: i dont see a lot of her but she’s very. i wouldn’t say goals but i could see this being me when i hit 70, provided that alzheimer’s doesn’t run in my family at least. All the people I ship romantically with this character: i can’t think of any tbh! maybe if yh introduced more than two female characters older than 50 My non-romantic OTP for this character: i think whatever the fuck she and chandlo are doing is a fun and fresh take on the platonic jock + nerd dynamic by making the nerd be the one who’s bullshitting everything My unpopular opinion about this character: do people have shelda opinions, period? One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I WISH SHE’D BEEN INTRODUCED EARLIER GOD. could get so much mileage out of her, although it might mean the game would show its hand with her a bit too early. My OTP: none for now! My OT3: none for now!

Sailor Moon is the only series where I have different ships depending on the adaption. For the most part, manga and anime have the same ships, but the absolute curveball that was PGSM (my favorite adaption, hands down) gave me a TON of new ships I’d have never considered otherwise, who I DON’T ship in the manga/anime.

1. Usagi/Mamoru. Across all adaptions, I ship these two, and the reason is actually funny. I never used to like either of them, so I just shoved them together. It wasn’t until PGSM that I ever liked Usagi at all. I found her to be whiney and annoying in the anime, and once I got my hands on the manga, my dislike of anime Usagi had permeated too deep for me to like manga Usagi. PGSM Usagi is a much more expanded concept of Usagi as a whole, and Mamoru (while still embodying Sailor Moon’s very own Princess Peach) has a whole arc of development and backstory himself. PGSM is the only adaption in which I like Mamoru, even now.

2. Ami/Nephrite, PGSM only. PGSM has a whole side story for many of its minor characters and expands on the girls outside of the concept of senshi. Tbh PGSM is a slice of life show disguised as a tokusatsu, and it’s super apparent in how they treat the characters. Ami has an entire arc of her own where she ends up brainwashed and has several scenes with Nephrite, who is sort of the black sheep of the Shitennou for reasons that are never explained. This fledging relationship continues after Nephrite is reincarnated as human and it’s really cute to see Ami develop outside of her relationship with Usagi (her strongest relationship in this series) and the girls. Nephrite is hotheaded and angry at the world and Ami makes him just so soft.

3. Ami/Zoisite, manga and Crystal. While I very much detest the first two seasons of Crystal for their abominable animation (through no fault of the animators, I blame Toei and their complete disregard of their fans and employees), I DO like that they tried to work in the senshi/Shitennou romance that Naoko hinted at in the art books. It was stupid rushed but it’s the only incarnation that really attempts it. I wish it had had time to develop.

4. Rei/Minako, PGSM only. PGSM only deals with the Dark Kingdom (sadly) and Rei/Minako are its Haruka/Michiru. I actually ship them harder than I ship PGSM Usagi/Mamoru. Several episodes are given over to the development of their relationship, which is not easy to do given the way they took Minako in this series, and Rei is the only one of the girls to even have a real relationship with Minako, even over Usagi. They trust each other on a deep level, and fight with each others’ weapons at two critical points in the series.

5. Minako/Zoisite, PGSM only. Zoisite in this series, like most of the Shitennou, differs drastically from his manga and anime component, and I actually really like this one more than I like him in the anime and manga. Beryl’s hold on Zoisite is the weakest of all the Shitennou, and he spends his time doing exactly three things: playing piano, pining over Mamoru Endymion, and stalking Minako. (Truth be told, I enjoy his relationship with Endymion more, but the one with Minako leads into my next point.)

6. Minako/Kunzite, anime and manga. Minako managed to bag not one but two Shitennou with her love powers and that is a FEAT. You get it, girl. I really like the dynamic of two leaders together, and really enjoy Silver Millennium Minako/Kunzite fics.

7. Makoto/Motoki, PGSM only. This was another fun little thing PGSM did, and Makoto is the only other senshi to have a confirmed relationship in the series. Motoki himself is pretty fleshed out for a minor character, with his own little quirks (turtles!), and he is over the moon for Makoto. By the end of the series they’re engaged.

8. Haruka/Michiru, anime and manga. Who DOESN’T ship HaruMichi? I actually shipped HaruMichi way before I ever shipped anyone else on this list. Along with Touya/Yukito from Cardcaptor Sakura, they were THE definition of LGBTQ+ relationships (for me) for much of my childhood. They have an extremely adult relationship, possibly even an open relationship (or at least Michiru seems to have no problem with Haruka’s flirting hobby), which isn’t really something you see often in anime. I love them, they are goals.

9. Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna, anime and manga. Very specifically during the time they are raising Hotaru. Sometimes a family can be three moms and their child the incarnation of death and destruction and that’s beautiful. They’re just such a cohesive unit that I have a hard time believing that they live together and HaruMichi HAVEN’T invited Setsuna to join them from time to time. They’re also the first OT3 I ever shipped.

10. Helios/Chibiusa, anime and manga. I think the Helios/Chibiusa shippers are as numerous as the Usagi/Mamoru shippers tbh. Like Mamoru, Helios also is a damsel in distress for much of his arc (I guess the Tsukinos have a type, which raises some interesting questions about Ikuko and Kenji), and what I really liked was that, despite the single kiss they shared, it was never really pushed on us? I think Chibiusa/Helios is the first thing I ever shipped without the source material directly telling me to do so, because I wanted them together SO BAD and was SO PISSED they weren’t.

11. Chibiusa/Hotaru, anime and manga. Another ship I put together on my own with no direction from the source material, and the first lesbian ship I ever did that with. They are just too close and love each other too much, and Chibiusa shares more pictures with Hotaru in official media (art books, stills, promo art) than her supposed future love interest Helios! They’re just a very sweet ship, two girls trying to figure out love and stuff.

12. Setsuna/Endymion, anime and manga. Setsuna has a thing for Endymion, but never really seems to transfer that to Mamoru. I do like unrequited ships, and this one is my favorite.

HONORABLE MENTION

1. Ami/Usagi, PGSM. Ami has a huge lesbian crush on Usagi in this version. I’m not even making this up. She ends up brainwashed due to her insecurity and depression that Usagi is replacing her by making more friends and getting a boyfriend. Usagi, of course, is oblivious.

2. Kunzite/Zoisite, classic anime. Classic anime gave us (female) Zoisite and Kunzite (named Malachite in the dub I watched) as a couple, which I actually really enjoyed. I remember being disappointed when I read the manga and Zoisite was not only not female but also not banging Malachite. They were another adult relationship, way before HaruMichi existed, that I looked forward to seeing onscreen. I’m cool now with Zoisite not being female, and Malachite’s real name being Kunzite, but I still really like their relationship in classic. Plus, they’re the only ship that can crossover the adaptions in my brain to form the ultimate ot3 Minako/Zoisite/Kunzite. You get it, Minako.

Favorite character: Ozpin, by far. Very few come even close.

Least favorite character: ......where should I start. Cinder, Salem, Ruby (used to be a fave), Yang (used to be a fave), Blake, and sometimes Weiss. Oh and Qrow starting at v6. Fuck that guy.

5 favorite ships: uh... I'm really not much of a shipper. I generally hate shipping tbh, and I can count my R W B Y ships on one hand, which I guess would be 5 anyway, so...let's see.... IronWitch, Double Rainbow, BlackSun (less so in v4 because she was a dick to him).... I used to have more but I don't remember them. Renora and Arkos I guess? I dunno, I'm only including them because I need 5 and I don't hate them. Well. I liked Renora until v7.

Character I find most attractive: You're gonna make me mention him again? Professor Ozpin, duh.

Character I would marry: See above.

Character I would be best friends with: Penny or Pyrrha probably. Or Zwei, I make friends with dogs.

A random thought: You ever wonder what they call that stuff that forms on surfaces from time to time? We call it dust, but they have that word for something else. Now I'm just imagining the Schnee Dust Company selling dust bunnies as pets.

An unpopular opinion: You mean something I haven't mentioned here before?

My canon OTP: Well it was canon, so I don't really have a canon OTP anymore.

My non-canon OTP: IronWitch. ...Can I change that to my above answer? Because they were obvious. Look at that elevator scene in v3 and tell me nothing happened between them, I dare you.

Most badass character: Honestly? I’m gonna have to say Neo. I'm not her biggest fan, not by a long shot, but as a tiny woman myself, it's kinda cool seeing her kick ass and take names, all with a cheeky grin.

Pairing I'm not a fan of: Just one? Ok. It goes bzzz. But if that was obvious, here's another. There's a song that talks about begging your pardon, I never promised you this thing.

Character I feel the writers screwed up: Say it with me, IRONWOOD.

Favorite friendship: People are friends in this show?

002: Freezerburn

When or if: I'm not really a fan of inner-Team R W B Y ships (yes, I'm Team Sisterhood, sue me), but Freezerburn is superior. If I had to choose an inner-Team ship, it would probably be that one (or Monochrome). As for when, the dynamic between Yang and Weiss has always been interesting, but I think v5 gave us the good Freezerburn food.

What makes me happy: the hug when they reunited. You get to see just how short Weiss really is 😆

What makes me sad: that their friendship was never really explored after v5. I blame Blake rejoining the team, and the writers' inability to flesh out character dynamics.

Things done in fanfic that annoy me: I don't read fanfic.

Things I look for in fanfic: I don't look for fanfic.

My kinks: I'm a sex-repulsed ace. Kinks make me cringe.

Who I'd be comfortable with them ending up with: Again I'm alright with Monochrome, I think the dynamic there is great. So, Weiss with Blake. But I really can't see Yang with anyone, I don't think her lifestyle and goals would fit in with a relationship. The only exception I can make is with Weiss *shrug*

My happily ever after for them: I'm not good with endings, and I don't think about it all that much.

003: Mercury

How I feel about this character: I pretty much always liked Merc's cocky attitude, and I think a lot of that has to do with how Yuri Lowenthal performs as him. I wasn't really a fan of his first voice, so the character didn't really have the punch, or kick, that he does now. So I don't adore Merc, but for one of the bad guys, I really don't hate him either. He's one of those characters I can tell to shut up with a smile on my face lol

Romantic ships: tbh none. I'm in a weird limbo with Emerald and Mercury, in that I see them more as siblings, but it wouldn't bother me if they ended up together. That doesn't really happen lol

Non-romantic OTP: I guess my previous answer applies to this as well? I'm in the siblings boat with them for the most part.

Unpopular opinion: I'm not sure if it's unpopular, but it's what I stated earlier in that I think Yuri was a better choice. I think they should've got him on as Mercury in the beginning.

One thing I wish happened: Pretty much everyone spec'd that Merc would help Oscar to escape. I'm not really a go-with-the-crowd kind of gal in terms of speculation and theories, but I am so disappointed that this didn't happen. It would've been perfect, but instead Merc got shipped off to Vacuo with Tyrian for whatever reason. What a total waste of an opportunity, but wasted opportunities is what this show is built on, so I guess no surprise there.

My OTP: Still don't have one. Maybe Emercury, maybe not Emercury.

My OT3: I don't do OT3s, at least not romantic ones. If we're going purely platonic, one of my biggest wishes (that will never happen now) was that Emerald, Mercury, and Hazel would have escaped Salem and lived peacefully somewhere, just two kids and their big burly dad. But alas, someone died.

......... Was I supposed to say that much? I’ve never done these before 😅
