Louis festivals in Italy- Fan Projects

Roma - August 30th

FAN ACTION 1: WALLS

Seats area will ve divided in three sections and will be lighted in the colours of the Italian flag. Parterre will raise signs with “our because” written on them.

FAN ACTION 2: ONLY THE BRAVE

Rainbow lights for the seats area, rainbow flags for the parterre

FAN ACTION 1: WALLS

Seats area will be divided in three sections and they will light up in red and white lights. Standing area will raise “we made it” signs.

FAN ACTION 2: ONLY THE BRAVE

Rainbow flag for the seat area. The grandstand, the numbered grandstand and unnumbered grandstand will have coloured sheet to put in front of your phone torch. In seat area under stage, they will raise rainbow flags.

Blue papers will be distributed in pit and parterre. Put it in front of the light of your phone during defenceless.

#i missed all of the discourse this morning but its still heavy on my mind #for someone to say that louis needs to do a certain thing in order to support or validate that queer community just really breaks my heart #im not going to get into it not being his responsibility or into his closet #but saying that completely invalidates all of the 'smaller' things he has done throughout the years that not only show his support for the #community but also shows he is proud of his own sexuality #i feel like some that weren't here at the time dont realize how big of a deal it was for louis to have a rainbow on his shirt at the time #it was huge for the gay fans it may seem like a small gesture to some but it was the opposite #even if he hadnt acknowledged a rainbow project or the flags during otb it was such an important thing to even happen #people wouldn't bring their flags to a show if they didn't feel safe and louis made everyone feel safe without even saying anything and i #feel like people ignore that #it's just so belittling to who louis is as a person when they say oh he needs to do this for the community because this other thing he did #wasn't enough #he didn't have to wear those rainbows when he was being painted as homophobic everyday #he didn't have to write and release otb that so so many queer people resonate with #even just pointing at a flag in the crowd or telling a fan thanks for the flag love he didn't have to do that stuff #but he still did and whether it was for himself or for his large gay fanbase its still so important #and if those gestures are too small for you or you think that he needs to do more to validate you i think that's more a fault of yourself #rather than a fault of louis #okay i just had to get my thoughts out I'm done #and to clarify i dont think any of these gestures are 'small' gestures i think they're all incredibly important #but some seem to believe they're not big enough

#i just saw the projects for louis’ shows in brazil #and honestly they suck #AND the one job they had ONE JOB #to put a rainbow in otb they didn’t do #honestly i can’t

i feel like i need to say this: louis saying that he wasn’t aware of the meaning that otb/home had taken on in the fandom until a few years ago wasn’t necessarily him lying. obviously he knows the songs are gay because he wrote them. but what i think he was saying was that he hadn’t realized just how impactful these songs were to queer fans until someone told him. he wrote home about his specific love story and his experience with queerness, and i’m sure he knew that fans would enjoy the song and pick up on the fact that it was him saying “look i’m gay,” but i don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe that he didn’t know how much people would relate to it on a personal level and how much it would help others with their own experiences. especially considering his history of being alienated from the queer community and how much worse things were in that regard back when home came out. and i think he mixed up home and otb in his mind because he kind of had that same realization with otb during tour after seeing the rainbow projects.
