Psst, you there! Are you a fan of Repo! the Genetic Opera? Or, perhaps, The Devil's Carnival? Are you looking for a place to be able to discuss these horrible wonderful films? A place to testify, or mark it up, or chase the morning, or steal/rob graves? Good news!

The Genetic Opera is an 18+ Discord server for fans of Repo! the Genetic Opera and both The Devil's Carnival films.

It is run by myself, @captainspaulding , and @otisbdriftwood - aka, @thegeneticopera (so you can expect a lot of behind the scenes talk)!

We have a verification system (all you need is your age and any sort of social media, which only the mods will see!), art channels, bots, movie-specific sections, and more.

Please remember this server is 18+ due to the nature of these films. Anyone underage will be kicked, so please just wait until you're old enough to buy a ticket! R!TGO and TDC both have very sensitive and dark subject matters, all of which are fine to be discussed here. There is no blacklist. i was tagged by @monstraduplicia and @otisbdriftwood to post six songs i've been listening to on repeat lately!!

i want my violin back so fucking bad; i know i could play this song, i know i could.

even just watching this i could Tell it wasn't as good as the books (which i fully intend to read) or the chinese tv show (which i fully intend to watch), but the score went off

never going to be over the fact that i was obsessed with this song at 9 and it's about dune which i got into at 17 and i didn't know this until 2021. anyway sting apparently understands those books better than denis villenueve lmao!!!!

i think this is still the song i've listened to the most on spotify period hands down.

idk what they inject into anime score, but lately i've been enjoying them so much more than any western film scores

I got tagged by @lysistra to do that “your URL as songs” thingy. I did it before back in 2022 and I still stand by the songs I chose then, you can check out the last one here, but I decided to redo it with the small challenge of not repeating any songs from the last time! :D

R — Rodent by Skinny Puppy. Saw this song live 4 times last year, then it came on at a damn coffee shop while I was out with Angel and Lissy recently and we all lost our minds. Loooove it.

I — It’s Over by Choir Boy. One of the first concerts I went to this year was Choir Boy. I really really love them, their whole dreamy nostalgic atmosphere is done so perfectly, consistently totally enamored by them.

V — Valium by The Tear Garden. No brainer choice, this is like already a song of the year for me. I’ve been obsessed since January, it’s everything to me atm.

E — EUPHORIA by HEALTH. Definitely another big song for me so far. I just saw HEALTH live and they killed it, but as much as their darker heavier stuff is great I’ve really been digging their occasional brighter synth tracks.

T — The Final Blows by Lead Into Gold. Never gonna shut up about this album. I saw this song live 5 times last year. Makes me lose my fucking mind every single time.

G — Get Down by Revolting Cocks. This is the first song I ever got fucked with the strap to :) Good memories, hottest song ever written, need I say more, etc.

O — Oh, Cruel Darkness Embrace Me by IAMX. I fucking adore Metanoia, it’s definitely an all time favorite album. Been coming back to this one a lot, it’s just so good.

T — The Bladders of a One Thousand Bedouin by Severed Heads. This is one of the songs that convinced me to do that “instrumental industrial” playlist awhile back. I love this whole damn album but omfg… This is song in particular is just so sounds.

H — Hunger Cries by High Functioning Flesh. Song that makes me lose my fucking mind every single time I hear it. One time I was on acid and got stuck listening to this on repeat while standing naked in the corner of my bedroom and it was like. Transcendent.
