Currently Reading

A PDF about recognizing Thai script in different fonts. Apparently some of them simplify letters so much that you can barely tell what's what and after looking at them my head is now like aojsdfglkn. (Started reading it out of curiosity but I'll likely take a pause because I still have half of the consonants left to even learn in the first place haha. One thing at a time.)

If we're talking actual books though, then The Lightning Thief! (Which I should get back to, it's been a minute...) That's always been one of my favorite books and one of the only one's I'll like-- physically read (and re-read).

"Only Boo!" (started this on a whim the day it premiered because youtube recommended it and now I love it so much), "We Are" the series (was still figuring out what I thought after ep 1. but I loved ep 2. so much yay), "Cherry Magic" (need to get back to it bc I took a pause but I only have a few eps left), "House MD" (watching with my sister, blorbo from this show is absolutely bonkers lmao <3) and "23.5 degrees" (my absolute joy every friday🥰)

Last movie

Thinking so hard because I rarely watch movies. I re-watched "Easy A" like a month or two ago, so I guess that. It was fun! :)

Currently Craving

Sleep🙃 and Malaysian chili oil because we ran out. It's so gooood!! I love putting it on stir fry noodles-- and like. literally everything else it doesn't clash with. xD

Deck The Halls With Nalu 2019 Prompts: "Baby it's Cold Outside," "Let it Snow," "O Christmas Tree, All I Want For Christmas is You," It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year," and "A Holy Jolly Christmas"(All Implied)".

Genres: Romance, Humor, Fantasy. Friendship/Family and Poetry

Characters: Natsu, Lucy, Wendy, Happy, Gray, Carla, Juvia, Erza, Gajeel, Levy, Pantherlily and Jellal

Pairings: Multi-ship with hints of Nalu (Natsu x Lucy) , Gruvia (Gray x Juvia, Gajevy (Gajeel x Levy), Jerza (Jellal x Erza), plus Cappy/ ( Happy x Carla) with a bit of Carla and Pantherlily thrown in.

Rating: K+ to T for some adult themes with mild references to alcohol, nudity, drunken shenanigans and other mature content. Recommend reading level is for teens, young adults and higher.

As some of you may know, this is a retelling of the main events of the Christmas OVA in the form of a holiday-themed poem. It was the day before Christmas

Bells as as the divine as heavenly choir of an angels rang out

All the fairies were fluttering about preparing to deck the walls with care this way and that

For when the clock struck twelve, off to Lucy's Team Natsu's and company would go for some holiday cheer

Jubilant laughter ,clinking of glasses, jolly salutations of "Merry Christmas" filling the air

all fun and games until low and behold the girls succumbed to the mercy of far too much sake running through their veins

much to the dread of the red-blooded males , hearts stricken with terror

An firecesome Titania, demanding queen of the Fairies, an unholy she- beast of intoxicated fury An insensate sky maiden , might as well be dead to the world for throwing three sheets to the wind from all the spirits she's consumed

An overly-sentimental Juvia of the sea

tears flowing like a gushing torrent of rain ️

breathing new life into that cliched rhyme: "The rain ️ in Spain."

Arms latching on tightly to a terrified ice demon slayer.

An unusually giddy Levy,

lady of solid script magic runes, future mother of her and Gajeel's child , seemingly leaning in for a kiss .

Only to burst into tinkly peals of laughter in his face

A disgraced Happy and Pantherlily who might as well been

a pair of wild stallions for all the demanding daughter of Queen Shaggot could care

A mortified Salamander underneath a just as zany celestial mage,

And yet deep down he can't help but subconsciously find her antics to be oh-so endearing to But oh, what little could the shenanigans, the antics, the hi-jinks could compare

For how could they know what the fates would have in store

when the all too gleeful Erza, the ruthless beast,

would suggest her high-stakes round of "Master Draw"

A game so notorious, that only fools with the buzz of firewater singing through their veins would dare play

One stick, one draw, winner take all

Whoever didn't have the best would be at the mercy of the chosen's one thrall

And who would have guessed who might be the one to win it all?

Why Erza of course, low and behold!

A wily gleam in fathomless depths of violet , madness ensues Pleas for mercy, canine-like yips and barks filling the air

Random awkward embraces

An infuriated storm woman's jealous rage

Absurd ensembles,

stripping down to nothing more than underwear in the cold

A sexy dance by the Son of Igneel himself in the nude or two,

the most discomfiting lock of lips from two of the exceeds who may just keel over and die in of their own shame.

A sensation of blazing ️ wax on the poor astral mage's flesh

Three grown young men doing everything in their power to cram themselves into spaces no average human being should ever dare to fit

All this, debauchery galore and more, all at Titania's fellow wizards expense

But oh, little did she know,the time for revenge would come

The dread hour nigh, when the ice demon slayer finally drew his own stick,

For out in in the snow a scantily-clad, fiery redhead would boldly dare to go,

in spite of Gray's protests

A decision she would soon some to regret

But fear not, all is not lost, for salvation is at hand in the form of Jellal

a king finally come to take his long- lost queen home

and swathed in the warmth of his cloak,

Erza along with the rest learns right then and there

that a day of warm tidings and day spent with those she loves makes for a very Fairytail Christmas indeed.

Remembering Mortal Instruments and a story I might revive

Okay so... this is going to be random as fuck but I just realized that the story which has the worst fucking canon pairings in my opinion EVER is Mortal Instruments. Yeah I used to be a fan... Like... Every fucking one of them is the most annoying teen fiction stereotypes you could imagine. The kind of you root for solely because they are the canon. Not because they have actual chemistry or complexity. Clace? The jock and the hot nerd. Sizzy? The hot chick and the goofy nerd. Malec? Sparkly bi and closeted gay. JUST GET THAT SHIT OUT OF MY FACE. Clace was by far the worst of them, I guess because Clary, Isabelle, Simon, Alec and Magnus were at least kind of cool characters by themselves. Jace?.. To me he was such an unlikeable prick I just wanted him to meet most gruesome possible demise and evaporate into molecules so he could never be brought back.

Now to (maybe) more interesting part...

To be sincere in this whole universe I tended to genuinely fall in love with only minor characters. Most notably archangel Raziel (weird for a satanist, but really I called him Raz). I actually used to roleplay as him a while ago... I have no idea why I loved him so much a he was an absolute dickhead to everyone around him. I guess I simply felt connected to him, since in my head I grew him and elaborated him and nurtured him as a character, in a way making him my own.

I even had started a fanfiction with him as one of the main protagonists (and yea it was Clary/Raziel because they were my OTP) that I am kind of considering bringing back and actually publishing because of how weird and messed up it actually was.

Basically if an angel or a demon trapped in a circle of runes can ask for something in return if the wish they are supposed to grant is bringing back someone dead. Raziel’s condition was that Clary becomes his queen (for the reason that she had more celestial blood and was strong enough to bear the offspring he wanted. His desire to become a father was the hidden reason why he created the nephilim in the first place, but as in his eyes they were a failure, he wanted to have actual children with an actual partner. Yes, Clary was sixteen but remember both angels and demons are ancient thus have different morals regarding those things). Desperate to reanimate her stupid little crush, Clary agreed and from there, shit actually goes nuts... Raziel proves what “great husband material” he is upon, after their wedding night, for whatever reason he returns to Heaven for a a time while sticking Clary with his demonic side of the family (and an adoptive part of it - Clary’s long lost cousin Aida who hates her guts. I told you this story is a mess) in Purgatory...

In this story, Purgatory is pretty much the Anti-Alicante - a safe resort populated by demons and downwolders and some humans. Raziel’s relative dwelling there is no other than Mephistopheles (who used to be an archangel and yes they do have a great brotherly relationship. Yes, this is a crossover). Now, this was before I developed my obsession of a trope where Dr. Faustus is female and becomes his bride in the end, so he is in fact... a house cat. Well, in reality a talking house lynx. Mephistopheles was originally not supposed to have a significant other (probably because he was fooling around town), but to make the tale even more fucked up I am actually considering changing that... into pairing him with Aida.

In original idea, Aida was the daughter of Jocelyn’s younger sister. Being illegimate, she had been left to die, however Mephistopheles found her raised her as his own (I liked the idea of a shadowhunter raised by demons and despising their kind...). What I am thinking about is very alike with original idea, only Mephisto raises Aida as an apprentice instead of a daughter, but as she matures (ancient demon, remember that... he set Faustus up with a fifteen year old in the play), begins to perceive her in a different light. Aida returns his feelings for several reasons. First, to her it has no incestous undertones because she had always seen him as a mentor and not a father. Second, she grew up in a very politics-based world, thus knew she was bound to end up with a demon of power, not a sweetheart, and instead of a random suitor she chose a man she trusted and relied on.

This idea though has other issues instead of initial intentional controversy. Aida is perhaps a year or two older than Clary. Which means she pretty much is still a teenager, and despite being wised beyond her years, she is not yet completely emotionally mature. It ultimately explains her at times irrational hatred towards other nephilim as well as her blood cousin. Now if she had recently married to Mephistopheles (or more likely still betrothed to him), that would mean she should have completed her emotional journey a lot sooner, as instead of someone in need of his guidance, she would become an equal to him and someone who compliments him. It would make her hatred towards (already pregnant,not to mention frightened and lost) Clary outrageous and petty in stead of logically understandable.

The (perhaps) final addition not present in he original script would be... yup. The Antichrist. No, not Ophelia. However as I like to imagine them as female and often bearing a Shakespearean name... she would be Juliet. Nice touch heeding her own romantic arch. Another canon character I deeply adored was Ithuriel (that poor thing, cease torturing him already). So maybe after he was liberated from the basement, he did not actually “die” and for this reason could not return to Heaven. Juliet discovered him and, very unlikely to her nature, took pity on him, healing him and guarding him during his recovery. Through that time period, warm feelings blossomed between the two. Neither Heaven nor Hell approved of it, for Ithuriel was a weak angel - unfitting match for the Antichrist. What captures me to have this storyline is... it’s pretty much only romantic arch based on emotion rather than rationality or gain, be it starcrossed lovers. As for Juliet’s connection to other main protagonists, people need best friends, which Aida and her would happen to be.

I realized I spoke only of relationship-based points of the story, but... those started the post anyway? Besides, those are only ones I’m up for spoiling if I go with reviving the plot. It would certainly have gore, horror, turmoil and all you may expect from me. So... do you think I should go through with reviving it? The more works in progress I have, the slower they develop, but also the more decreased is the chance of me getting a writer’s block. Not to mention fanfiction OCs at times become prototypes for OG ideas of mine... so I might want to explore Aida and Juliet a little deeper.
