I do gotta say tho, even tho I’m mad at aziraphale because he’s being a terrible boyfriend like what you said about the “I forgive you like” because WHAT. But also I really like the way the show really demonstrates the underlying cruelty of heaven and it’s angels. Really shows the hypocrisy of a group of beings who are supposed to do good, especially aziraphale who really buys into the heaven propaganda, who hurts people, particularly the person who means the most to him. Because like you said he fully just takes advantage of that devotion Crowley has for him. Insane, this shwo makes me INSANE

I missed this anon and yeah! The angels were one of my favourite parts of the season, and I think the strongest element aside from Neil Gaiman deciding he's just a simple man who wants to put his otp in situations. They are deeply awful and I kind of love them. They are the exact kind of moralizing hypocrites who are callous and cruel precisely because they think being on team good means everything they do is justified and it's actually impossible for them to be in the wrong (they're angels! is it even possible for them to do the wrong thing?).

but!! To me, they also seem like they're basically kids? Obviously they're not literally children, but there is this very consistent reoccurring joke about how childish/sheltered/immature they are. Muriel is the most obvious example, but the archangels come off like bratty twelve year olds to her sweet little kid.

Gabriel is basically teenager in love flipping off his family as he runs away with his backstreet guy. Uriel is constantly picking at Michael, Michael is playing at being in charge like it's a game, and it's ridiculously easy for both Aziraphale and Crowely to trick them obvious half assed lies. They're not allowed to ask questions! The Metatron treats them like badly behaved kids out past their curfew. At any point an old man with a beard may pop up to scold them and send them home, and they're all scared of doing something wrong by his standards and getting in trouble with this guy who is pointedly not God but who lines up exactly with the pop-culture idea of god the father, and who offers Aziraphale, among other things, a respite from the hard work of figuring out what the right thing to do is for himself. It's fine! You don't have to question the belief system you were born into or make a painful break with everything you've ever known! Aziraphale has had six thousand years on earth to grow up, but the other angels have been sitting in a sterile white box playing "i'm not touching you" games with each other and filing paperwork.

And I think that's extra interesting because this season also really emphasizes:

Heaven has Institutional Problems

Aziraphale isn't the only angel who's unhappy in heaven. Gabriel and Muriel were both completely miserable. They just didn't understand that they were unhappy because they'd never experienced anything else.

Angels who aren't Aziraphale can change and grow! There's very explicitly Gabriel being changed by love and Muriel growing up a bit on earth, and from a more fan-theory angle there's also Jimbriel, who I think is probably basically Gabriel minus the war and six thousand years of playing referee for Michael and Uriel while unleashing an assortment of plague and calamities on earth because that's God's will! Buck up champ.

We also get Gabriel and Beezelebub talking about how their underlings basically live for Armageddon, "if you can call that living." This is so bleak. They've all been on a six thousand year time out just dreaming of the day they get to beat the shit out of each other until they feel better, but it won't work because eternity is just more of the box.

Anyway I think it's going in a distinctly eden adjacent direction. Aziraphale is going to tempt those angels with knowledge and the capacity for change. I have veered so far from your ask anon i'm sorry you're right heaven really went all out on sucking this season & while Crowley and Aziraphale are both fucking it up Crowley refrains from being spectacularly cruel to Aziraphale about it and Aziraphale should learn to return the favour. I forgive you!! I forGIVE you. I forgive YOU. "you can be an angel again" is actually a worse thing to say than "you're a demon. i don't even like you." when he finally picks crowley over heaven i'm going to lose my mind.

Lighter and Princess ep 3

Ah, this is where reality finally gives us a wave and departs completely. Young ML the super genius master-hacker freshman that builds an extra special genius virus in like 30 minutes while the FL watches, interfering with school property, and the entire IT department and then his professor marvel at his brilliance, not at all threatened or irritated or threatening disciplinary action. And we were doing so well.

Gotta say, I think FL isn't entirely wrong when labelling ML a poser. He's authentically not socialable and contrary, but he's trying it on a bit too hard like kids do PLUS he obviously isn't as disinterested in her as he's trying to front. She's a very pretty girl and he could simply ignore her. But he takes multiple actions to get her notice, after that 1st fateful cafetaria mistake.

Gao's fixation on ML seems suspicious and creepy but tbh that might be just my bias since I know in the future/present he's sketchy.

Episode 4

yeaaaaah he's so into her. Oh you're way too cool and counter culture to be interested in pretty girls. Everyone believes you.

I love how fried his hair looks. That's really the look of a university kid who just bleached his hair in the bathroom. And the long sleeves striped shirt under the black tshirt 👌. Kudos to the stylist.

Zhu Yun the FL and these over achiever students starting to get on my nerves now. I'm not even distracted by FL's luminous beauty because I'm buying into her student persona too well and it's not my type.

ML flipping the script and pretending (?) to hit on her at the school assembly whatever was pretty ballsy of him. Sometimes he tries so hard to be 'different' that he's actually not much more original than these other kids (just mimicking a different role) and it's endearing but a lil dorky to my 40-something self. But other times he's actually got the spirit and I'm feeling his sullen & mischevious magnetism. The type of kid I would have hung out with at that age.

The invest in the band girl scene from the flashbacks! Kinda exciting to fit a piece together. Don't really know what their connection is, maybe I missed it. but nice to see him relaxed and smiling without putting on an act for once. idk maybe there really isn't a backstory. I tended to know a lot of the other counterculture people in my district, at least enough to say hi to. why not?

I did like the lil scene with Future Villain Gao and FL where she really rejects Gao's reasoning of quitting to save face and not get humiliated. Being like, nah that's fine if we're the only 2 people and no one else wants to join us. See, that's actually dgaf i do what i want energy and you can see why she is ML's type. Oddly reminiscent of the Thousand Autumns otp - demonic sect leader realizes that the uber good, incorruptible cultivator is actually just as unbending and iconoclastic as he is... It's just that they are standing for different things.

dear asian drama writers, we truly madly deeply do NOT require female extras to dramatically fawn over a male character to indicate they are desirable. Just write them that way!! This shit is too ridiculous and knocks me out of the story.

tbh Gao may be Potentially Evil but ML Li Xun is insufferable when he starts pontificating about what a special programmer snowflake he is.

lmao I wonder if any instinctive part of him feels uneasy that he's the one in the crowd. She's comparatively going against the grain.

Listen. Listen, I have... so many feelings about them. XD SO MANY! And they can be sooooooo many things!!! They work in like every scenario?! Rivals to lovers? Sure! Childhood friends AU? Oh yes. One night stands catching feelings? You betcha! Actual enemies?! Yes yes yes. Listen, they're antagonistic and argumentative, they're sweet and considerate, their both obnoxious assholes trying to get under each other's skin, etc. They just work on so many levels and they can just be so many things! And somehow... they all work with their characters? (Well, I mean, Gavin's is a bit of a stretch, lol, but with some healthy "making up bullshit backstory" magic, anything is possible. XD)

For me personally, I enjoy a little contention in their relationship? Things aren't exactly going smooth between them and they have their character flaws. Gavin is a prickly bastard with a chip on his shoulder and too any insecurities he loves to project. Connor is sarcastic and guilt-ridden and entrenched in a facade of complete mastery of himself. They've both done things in their pasts they regret deeply (even done things to each other they regret) and they'd have to work hard at anything friendly between them, but... The fact that they won't have to go it alone is key. I love them having a rough start and having flaws and regrets... but I love them seeing past those and working to improve themselves and coming to an understanding between them. I love that they're both kind of messed up because it gives them so much room to grow. And I love the ridiculous, unstoppable force they could become together, driving each other to even greater heights than they would've ever considered on their own. Ahhhhh, they are fraught and confrontation and sarcastic and so so so alike where it really counts, despite all their superficial differences. Ahhh, I love them. I love them so much! They are, I think, the only ship I'd ever consider as my actual OTP because... I just can't image them with anyone else tbh.

No matter what sort of wide range of characterizations they're given, I still love them. I've read so many different takes on them and it's always amazing seeing just how far they stretch when you put them together! I've fallen off a bit with the DBH fandom as of late but... They will always be so dear to me. I still love them with all my heart.

2) What are your favorite things about the ship?

Ummmmm... well it's pretty unexpected for anyone who's never heard of it. I like their colors. I like that they both disappear. I like my own headcanons for them =) My fav hc is that Skywarp can see Mirage when he's invisible, and that outlier powers are connected to 'another world' (like... dimension-wise).

You didn't specify MTMTE/TFP but I'm gonna say that because they were also on that aforementioned list of rarepairs that I made (along with other rarepairs in Echo Garden, like (IDW) Nautica/Blaster and (IDW) Bluestreak/Hot Spot!)

1) What made you ship it?

Well... it's like the above. I put them together foremost because it's a deeply unexpected rarepair. I know Cyberverse came out around 2018 and Hot Rod/SW was a thing, but I specifically paired MTMTE Rodimus and TFP Soundwave because it's freaking weird. Like, it just is. Pretend it's 2015. MTMTE is still ongoing. TFP ended a while ago. CV hasn't come out. Everyone's wondering about Cygate and CDRW. Who the hell would pair MTMTE Rodimus/TFP SW?? Why??

Me, and because they're opposites (hot/cold, emotional/not-emotional) and they're both GORGEOUS designs. Because how the hell could it ever happen? Because WHY?! Why would you do that??

That's why I ship it.

2) What are your favorite things about the ship?

HEHE well now, honestly, it's that so many people are reading Echo Garden and enjoying it. I mean!! That's amazing!! When I posted the first chapter I was so nervous, because it's such a bizarre concept, and I thought there would only be two readers because people would just skip right by it. I knew it would be a really long story, very ambitious, would take a lot of my brainz to even try to pull it off. And!! People like it!!!! C'mon that's like the goal of rarepairs, right? To get other people to ship it, too? =D

Buuuuuuut other than that. I think I like it cuz they have such pretty designs. A Rodimus all curled up in biolighty tentacles is a lovely sight. Rodimus is so brash and bold and (let's face it) jackass-y. Soundwave is so cool and competent and foreboding and alien. It's like the Large Hadron Collider: smash 'em together and interesting things are going to happen ;D

Well I did this for Bungou Stray Dogs so I’m gonna do it for Bleach

Here is a list of my favorite bleach ships from most favorite to least favorite ( I have less ships in bleach than bsd despite bleach having a bigger cast go figure)

1. Ikkayumi ( Ikkaku Madarame x Yumichika Ayasegawa)

This a literal surprise to no one. I post about these bastards all the time so it’s obvious they are my favorite ship in the show. These two have an incredible bond that I truly feel like is overlooked by many. I’m a sucker for people who have been by each other’s side for years and Ikkaku and Yumichika have been together and have grown together throughout the many years they’ve been together. They do have their problems and I believe that they solve many of them before the start of the last arc, but despite that there is a clear love and devotion for each other. I personally believe this ship is one of those “basically canon” ships because of so many reasons I can’t list because this is not a ikkayumi post lol but the biggest one being how in sync they are and how they seem to know what the other is thinking without it being said. I just love these two assholes and I will never shut up about it

2. Ichihime ( Orihime Inoue x Ichigo Kurosaki)

Man I remember when it was controversial to like this ship. Which to me is a bit ridiculous since they’re so cute. Orihime and Ichigo is one of my few soft asf ships with so much love and care. Ichigo always has a scowl on his face but when he looks at Orihime he softens and there’s clear love in his eyes. Orihime understands Ichigo more than anyone and takes time to try and get his perspective. She just wants him to be happy and when he’s not it hurts her deeply. These two are meant to be and always make me so happy and I will not apologize for loving them.

3. Rukia Kuchiki x Renji Abarai

These two are just special little jibblet heads. As I said I love childhood friends to lovers and they are what made me love it. These two have been through hell and back together with an overwhelming amount of trust and care. Renji is the definition of a male wife for his bad ass girlfriend Rukia. I mean he’s already adorable but when you add how protective and attentive he is for Rukia it just doubles by a thousand. Rukia loves Renji and trusts him just as much as he trusts her. These idiots are so happy together and good for them

4. GinRan ( Gin Ichimaru x Rangiku Matsumoto)

Man these two…it’s tragic honestly. They could have been happy together but fate had other plans. I love these two and I love how unlikely of a pair it is. I mean Rangiku being beautiful and lively in love with a man like Gin. It’s completely unexpected but it works. I love the history these two have together and the deep love. Gin wants a world where Rangiku will no longer cry and Rangiku just wants Gin. She doesn’t care about how he looks or how others see him because she knows he’s the man who saved her and cared for her. He’s her Gin and nothing will ever change that. Despite these two not having a happy ending I will continue to obsess over what could have been.

5. ByaKen ( Byakuya Kuchiki x Kenpachi Zaraki)

Guys this started off as a joke but slowly mutated into some sick obsession. You know the meme of “I don’t think it’s a joke anymore” well that’s how I feel about these two. What can I say about them? That they have an interesting dynamic and their banter is highly entertaining? That they are both eccentric but the exact opposites of the extreme? Well yeah. They’re interesting and I enjoy their dynamic a lot. I never get tired of their interactions and at the very least they have a cool friendship…and in fanon maybe more lol

Indya and Darren because they had to endure storms and were little roses that grew from concrete and I love that; they are my favorites for that reason alone. They tested my own ability to forgive. They had it HARRRRRRRRRRD and they deserve all the blessings they have. Growth is a beautiful thing, especially against unspeakable odds and growing as a couple??? *chef's kiss*

Calvin and Pip - this is that pure organic love that was planted, watered and fertilized. Where they loved each other so deeply they cheated grim to stay together and even in the afterlife were unbreakable. And all of this built off of the love for the very soil their ancestors tilled.

Hope and Jayce will round it out because while they are ridiculously cute together, they are in no way vets at this ship thing. They are still young and learning and haven't had much to test the strength of their love. Except for the BackBreaka but what is that compared to Indya and Darren's trials or Calvin and Pip's struggles with bad weather ruining precious crops that almost cost them their farm?

HoJay is a baby ship right now with plenty of room to grow so, that's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

Hi! Welcome to my blog and thank you for asking about my ships, I have a lot of them and I'm going to try and link some of my stories from Ao3. I put everything under the read more as it turned out to be a lot longer than anticipated!

Bill/Fleur - I ship them in a sort of toxic downfall(?), they're just the kind of couple that I see rushing in too fast and then not dealing with any of their trauma.

Victoire/SJ - they fell in love while Victoire was visiting her grandparents in Paris, he's a few years older and super sweet and doting on Victoire. They have a great relationship.

Dominique/Lorcan - more of a friends to lovers story, but involve an unplanned teen pregnancy, a family tragedy, and also lots of cousin drama, they somehow make it work.

Louis/Anamika - I really adore them, both of them are so quiet and shy despite being on the younger side of their ridiculously big families. They find a peace and love in one another that I find so refreshing and honest.

Percy/Audrey - one of my top Weasley couples! I just simply adore the pair of them, Percy is so sweet to Audrey, her shoulder to lean on while the world pushes her down. And Audrey is the complete opposite of her quiet and studious man, but that's what makes him love her more.

Molly/Artie - they're not exactly a match made in heaven, but they are a second chance romance. They loved one another at 15/16 and they come back to each other again at 20/21. Sometimes mistakes happen in life and sometimes you wake up after a night of partying married to your ex-boyfriend.

Lucy/Devon - She's a nervous wreck at her best and he loves her despite her self-doubt. They care so deeply for one another and she gets more and more confident with him at her side.

George/Angelina - They're resilient, the couple that can manage anything as long as they're together. A sweet pair of soulmates that saw each other at eleven and never looked back.

Freddie/LeeAnne - Another pair of soulmates that met each other young and who love one another so deeply and completely despite the hardships it causes.

Roxanne/Sean/Sasha - Roxanne has been through everything, she has been through so much pain and Sean helped her get through it. Sasha helped her see the light after so much pain and their love is so true and sweet after everything that has happened.

Ron/Hermione - what can I not say about this couple? I adore Romione and think that they are such an amazing couple that have gone through so much together.

Rose/Scorpius - my first OTP in the next generation, I just love the thought of their family dinners. They're definitely a couple that go through lots of ups and downs, but that never lessens their love for one another.

Hugo/Lyla - I love them so much, Hugo is so wild and Lyla is so anxious, but when they come together they manage to become something so entirely beautiful and happy together.

Harry/Ginny - I do love a couple that find each other over and over and over again. They're a couple that love one another in every moment and I love writing them.

James/Marci - coming soon, Nano2023 project

Al/Maggie - they were toxic young couple at 17 and grow into a beautiful and ridiculously loving couple at 21. They go on to become a staple at Hogwarts as DADA professor and Hospital Wing Matron.

I always love giving attention to the boy

*fav thing; His arrogance. He absolutely deserves to have it too! He is the best archer of his time AND he created an entirely new technique of flight simply of his own merit. I think he deserves to be a bit prideful about it! (of course in his annoying teenage boy way).

*least fav thing; His lack of communication. Revali’s inability to be blunt only when it comes to his own feelings drives me up a wall! His emotions control him but he doesn’t/can’t let himself explain himself. It’s not for dramatics either; he shows a deep social awkwardness and isolation from others and I ache thinking of the connection he could have had to the other champion’s of only he could tell them what was wrong with him.

*fav line; I don’t know if I have a favorite line exactly but every time I hear “Revali’s Gale is now ready!” my heart skips a beat. So take what you will with that!

*brOTP; zelvali. I think the two of them would have gotten close. They both have a sense of pettiness to them and an emotional immaturity that would have probably made them clique together really quick but also a deeply ingrained intelligence that I think rivals one another. (you can’t tell me Revali isn’t smart. He created a way to harness the winds to do his bidding; he has at least a basic understanding of aerodynamics and physics!) I think in a way they would bring out the best and worst in one another. Pushing each other to be better, smarter; while also destroying their sleep schedules and dietary habits.

*OTP; revalink, obviously. I am also a fan of miphvali though! I think the reason revalink draws me in so deeply is the tragedy that is losing a love you never really had. Like ships passing in the night of one another. The solidarity and connection they could have had if not only for their pride/fear could have made them an unstoppable team; instead they resented/ignored one another until it was far too late. By the time Revali was willing to acknowledge Link they were already dead and when he gets his second chance, the Link he knew was long gone. It’s heart breaking to think of what could have been.

{though I will say I am quite fond of the concept of them having a secret relationship pre-calamity. Finding comfort and solace in one another’s arms/beds. Even if they don’t know why they feel the pull to one another. I think they could have understood each other in a way not many others could have. They feel like perfect opposites. Both reacting differently to the pressures of life and I think if they had the chance, they could have really brought that other perspective to the other. Given each a sense of freedom. I like to imagine they had that, in some way, before the calamity happened.}

*nOTP; I don’t really have one for him. I don’t find myself having any visceral “no!” reactions to any ship. I’m not a fan of Sidvali (or any iteration of sidvalink). The love-triangle/polyamory solution to the ship war there just isn’t for me. (and is why I actively am writing my modern au to keep away from any of that romantic tension at all). Nothing wrong with the ship, just not my cup of tea.

*random hc; you get two from me! Revali is ridiculously fond of children. A pretty common hc in the fandom but my personal flavor of it is that he doesn’t even pretend he doesn’t like them. He goes full out Big Brother Mode when it comes to the village kids. He absolutely gives them piggyback rides and fixes their clothes/feathers and runs errands for them to make them happy. Also telling them stories and sharing his hammock with them. I think the entire village takes part in raising the fledglings but Revali really enjoys being the older brother to them all. Nice uncle Revali ☺️

another is weaving!! I hc that weaving is a HUGE part of rito culture and that Revali learned how to work a loom at a very young age. He still enjoys using one of the village looms (because he wouldn’t have space for one in his own hut) and using his backstrap loom and lucet fork during the winter months when training isn’t really an option. He probably can’t make the prettiest stuff, but it’s more for practicality than aesthetics. (he also has dozens of blankets and scarves. Some he’s made, some gifts from others. a certain little hylian is never cold when he comes to the village to visit).

*unpopular opinion; idk if it’s unpopular but it’s more of a fanon attitude I deeply disagree with. I don’t think Revali is nearly as stupid, oblivious or tsundere as everyone makes him out to be. I think he’s emotionally stunted and bratty, but not dumb or completely emotionally unaware at all. I like to think he’s cunning and crafty. It takes intelligence to do what he does. and it drives me absolutely INSANE when he’s boiled down to “I just can’t tell anyone about my feelings ever so I’ll just be mean and go hide over here until someone comes looking for me!!” stupid >:/

I'm trying to remember specifically what I put down for my fav moments lol. Off the top of my head I love the years '63-'65 just because of how mutually delighted/obsessed they were with each other. And what with them touring all the time they had plenty of opportunity to hook up with no stress or extra effort. I love the kind of heady, no complications, just music and fucking, vibes of those years.

And '67 will always be important to me because of how deeply domestic, clothes-sharing, doing everything together, living at Cavendish and shagging all the time the whole year was.

And I love early Liverpool for mutual pining, Romeo and Juliet-type "my dad won't let us be together" ridiculousness. I especially love a pining Paul perspective with Jim being an asshole (bc he was and I love angst)

On the subject of angst I LOVE it but only if it doesn't end with any breakup or unrequited heartbreak. I'm all for fic where some external angst makes things terrible for them, or one of them is being a dick because of some dumb insecurity, but I need it to end in real reconciliation and a way forward. I really love me some dark heavy angst (Manila, the cherry bomb, Paul getting arrested in Japan) that is outside of their own drama and could mean some really A+ hurt/comfort.

In terms of kink, I love me any good bottom!Paul, sub!Paul, just Paul getting railed, by John but honestly by anyone. J/P is my number one but I do love some good Paul/Robert smut, or even Paul and some random dude/dudes.

As far as things I don't love in fic, I tend not to go for anything that is built on the idea that they never fucked until the 70s or later (altho I have read some AMAZING fic based on that premise) but generally its not my thing because 1. I don't find it particularly believable and 2. it just kinda depresses me to think about all that wasted time. So it's generally not my thing. And as I said earlier, any angst that's mostly them fighting or breaking up with no reconciliation is a nope for me.

As far as fanart, I love NSFW if it's something you would be comfortable with, J/P, bottom!Paul, I'm not that picky on the other details lol. But if you'd rather do something more general, anything of them kissing. I need more otp kissing art, always.

your most favorite character ever for the ask game

Hmm, as I have answered this question way back with my most favourite character, I am going to go with a very recent favourite of mine: Jinx from Arcane.

Favourite thing about them: Her design is amazing and the utmost care was put into animating her. Jinx is honestly one of the best written characters I have recently come across.

How her traumatic childhood and severe abandonment issues shaped her from this sweet, insecure child into a ruthless, trigger-happy murderer, she is deeply insecure and desperate to prove herself worthy to those who she loves. How throughout the show her mental health keeps getting significantly worse, how she keeps struggling between her old identity (Powder) and her new one (Jinx) until the very end when she accidentaly kills her father figure and completely gives up on salvaging her relationship with her sister, fully accepting her identity as Jinx.

And most importantly she is such a fun character to watch whether she is bombing and shooting countless of people, tinkering with her gadgets in her underground lair or being completely miserable she is alway a treat to watch, She is such a complex character and I love her for it, my beautiful trashfire daughter <3

Least favourite thing about them: It's a bit complicated but Jinx has been repeatedly shown throughout the show to suffer from severe psychotic episodes accompanied with visual and auditory hallucinations a combination of PTSD and an unspecified psychotic disorder.

While on one hand her mental illness is handled with respect and sympathy, the way she reacts to triggers and how those triggers are correlated with her traumatic childhood are handled well and she is not berrated, mocked or ridiculed by the narrative for being mentally ill ala Harley Quinn style. But on the other hand having the sole person suffering from psychosis in the show be the violent, trigger-happy, terrorist further aids some very unfortunate stereotypes about people suffering from similar disorders.

Favourite Line:

"Wanna know a secret ? Silco thinks he made Jinx with all of his rants and hard-won lessons. "Excise your doubts, Jinx", "Be what they fear, Jinx" like everything was the same as when Vander left him... But he didn't make Jinx. You did."

"I'm sorry Powder, I never meant to leave you"

"But you never left, I always heard you, shadows in the streets, prickles on the back of my neck. Your... voice pushing me, picking me up, when all the colours were black... You are the reason I am still alive."

I adore her monologue here and I forgot to mention it in the first question, but her voice-actress Ella Purnell did an absolutely fantastic job, especially here like, Jinx's tone is so bitter yet appreciative. She resents her sister for turning her the way she is but she is also thankful for it truly highlighting how divided she is.

"I thought... maybe you could love me like you used to even though I am... different. But you changed too, so here's to the new us."

BROTP: Vi, like I do hope they manage to salvage whatever is left of their relationship because I am a sucker for sibling dynamics and the reckless, impulsive nature they both have would create interesting interactions.

OTP: Timebomb (Ekko x Jinx) It's the childhood friends to mortal enemies for me.

I also like Flashlight (Lux x Jinx) but since their interactions are in-game only idk if I should put this here.

nOTP: with Vi and Silco. Out of an entire cast of colourful characters people decide to ship her with her sister and the man that raised her as his own daughter??? For fucks sake.

Random Headcanons:

She is autistic because I said so <3 (ok jokes aside you can heavily read neurodivergency in her actions and reactions)

She is bi

She has a horrendous sleeping schedule, like have you seen the dark circles on this chick? She probably stays up multiple nights to work on her projects until her body gives up and she simply passes out on her desk. I believe after the shimmer injection her schedule worsened.

I believe she was 11 years old before the time-skip and that she is 19-20 after it. None of the creators seem to agree on what the characters actual ages are so oh well.

Unpopular Opinion: Oh boy do I have some

1) I hate when people keep insisting that Powder and Jinx are two different people, like why is it such a common take? Powder and Jinx are the same person. Jinx is a grown up Powder that was deeply traumatised and her environment and the people who raised her changed her mostly for the worse.

And what gets me is how the main point of Jinx's arc is disapproving the notion that Powder and Jinx are different people by punishing the characters that believed so.

Ekko believes that Powder is dead and Jinx is the only thing that remains (going as far as to paint Powder in a mural meant to honor the deceased despite knowing she is still alive). This notion is debunked during the bridge fight when Ekko sees that the person he is fighting to the death is still his old childhood friend.

Silco thinks that Powder is a weak nuisance something the more powerful Jinx must kill so she can reach her full potential the narrative punishes him for holding that notion by killing him.

Vi believes that her little sister is trapped deep inside Jinx and that she must dig through all the layers of evil to get to Powder. The narrative punishes her by having her sister choose the identity Jinx, completely give up on salvaging their relationship and blowing up the council. (Tbh I can excuse Vi the most out of the three as she spent most of her time in a prison where her last memory of her believed to be deceased sister was her hitting her and calling her a jinx, mulling over the guilt and regret. Like of course Vi wouldn't want to call her sister Jinx).

2) I do not want Arcane Jinx to become her in-game counterpart. In-game Jinx is and was intended as an one-dimensional male fantasy. She is wacky like a Looney Tunes character and her mental illness is treated more akin to a Harley Quinn-esque quirk. Arcane Jinx becoming LoL Jinx would be basically making her a much less interesting character.

Also if Arcane Jinx became LoL Jinx that would mean that we would never really get a conclusion to her story since LoL Jinx's story has not finished (and never will since LoL is a battle arena game, they cannot afford to give their characters proper conclusions to their stories) so that would mean we would be left on a cliffhanger that would make the show feel like a League of Legends ad (well even more than usual). I just want a self-contained story that's all.

3) Vi is not the sole reason why Jinx became who she is. The majority cites Jinx's above monologue to say that Vi is the sole person to blame for Jinx's descent to villainy. Whiles yes Vi (accidentally) played her part, but what caused Powder to become Jinx wasn't a single event or a single person. From her parents murder, to Piltovers tyranny over Zaun, to witnessing incredible violence since a very tender age, to her mental illness, to being raised by Silco, to the shimmer injection etc.

All those factors shaped her. The above dialogue was not meant to be perceived as the absolute truth since at this point Jinx is incredibly unstable, unreliable and deflects responsibility. In the end Jinx is the one responsible for her own actions, she acts based on her own agency and Vi shouldn't be burdened by her sisters actions. I mean we know that she is going to blame herself for "creating" Jinx, Vi is a very self-blaming person due to her own traumas but that is meant to be a character flaw not the actual truth ya know.

 I’ll tell you: The first character I first fell in love with: Olga Marie Animusphere. Final answer. Girl was ROBBED and deserved SOOOO MUCH MOREEEE. Her death was sooo painful. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Hmmmmm I think I actually am gonna be a super duper bias bitchhhhhhh and give this to JEANNE D'ARC ALTER. Yes, I've always loved her and she's awesome, even back in the Orleans quest before we knew that edgelord was being manipulated and mind control by Bluebeard. BUT. Then we found that out and then we got Jeanne Alter as a good guy, and we got her ridiculous relationships with Marie Antoinette and Jeanne d'Arc Ruler, and we got her and Helena being teddy bear hookers together, and we got MANGA ARTIST JEANNE ALTER, and just SHEEEE. I'm biased as fuck to that bitch and I will fight anyone who disagrees. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: ISHTAR. Oh my fucking God, I hate her. I hate her so much. I just. And that's FINE, they're allowed to not like Mash, and it's also a gacha game in the Fate series, so of course everyone is gonna wanna bone Ritsuka, but Jesus, there's a lot of baiting, and keeping Mash on the hook and a lot of disturbing lore and suggestion that just makes me feel really sorry for Mash. Like I truly don't think she can help it? Idk

Favourite thing about them

The sheer joy he sometimes shows while exploring the universe with his companions. It’s just so wonderful. And of course it makes it all the more painful when he is at his most dark and/or driven only to despair.

Least favourite thing about them

Sometimes he comes across as a bit uncaring (or maybe dangerously scatterbrained is a better description) regarding his companions. Might just be the writers messing up but sometimes I’m screaming at him to show more concern about the fact Charley is missing or more relief that Liv and Helen are safe in one piece.

Favourite line

Probably “I love humans, always seeing patterns in things which aren’t there” but honourable mentions must go to “ChArlOTte PoLarD” (you know the one) from Seasons of Fear and the whole of his ‘birthday’ scene in Stranded 4 😭

She’s so funny and sarcastic sometimes, I adore her for that. Also, I love how she’s so brave but still regularly terrified, because those two things can and should be shown to coexist within characters’ emotions more.

It’s completely understandable and good character development, but she gets a bit too full of herself in Zagreus and a bit too whiny and entitled in Scherzo for me.

Sticking with my love of Charley’s humour, it’s “I am deeply cheered (sarc)” but if we’re looking for something more serious, I love the whole section at the beginning of Neverland where she calls out the Doctor and says she wants to face the reason the time lords are chasing them around: “Time to stop dreaming Doctor, and grow up.”

Random headcanon

Keeping with the tradition of ‘this is a favourite character so I’m going to hc them to be more like me’ I think she’s demisexual! But I do think there’s enough evidence in the audios to suggest this, I’m not entirely projecting in vain.

Probably my above mentioned lack of sympathy for her at some points in Zagreus and Scherzo.

You’ll note I have left this question until now for both of them and that is because rather than choosing a random big finish pic I like or something from the movie for Eight, I’d rather just send heaps and heaps of love towards @johannesviii because their art of Eight and Charley (along with many other characters and things too) is insanely amazing and has hugely influenced how I view the audio world of these early adventures (in a VERY good way)
