i don’t know how to articulate this in a way that fully makes sense but something i’ve always appreciated about how maddie & chim’s relationship is written is that it’s never been treated as ‘less than’ by the narrative or by any of the characters simply because they’re unmarried. they’re deeply in love, they’re raising a child, they own a home; and all of that has happened without them being married and they’re perfectly fine with it. yes, marriage is important for all the legal benefits attached to it, but it’s never been held up as a milestone that they’re ‘supposed’ to achieve because it would somehow make their family more valid or more important. so i guess what i’m trying to say is, in light of all this, if they’re getting married for tax benefits (as the synopsis seems to suggest)? i think i’m okay with that.

Vacation OTP Prompts
sleeping on each other during an 8 hour layover
alternatively, sleeping on each other in the backseat of a road trip
getting lost on a country road and stopping for an impromptu picnic
A is a grumpy person, but B forces them to take pictures in those face-in-hole boards

Thank! I worry I should have done this for saga AU Them, because this is like. literally @boogerwookiesugarcookie's job I'm speculating on as an amateur here. Maybe they'll correct me where I get it wrong! :)
Which one is more fond of scary movies: Oh Cassian, for sure. He does a great job of laughing at them, saying he’s not scared, making fun, etc., but it Sits With Him afterwards, and I bet he’s initially not as good at hiding his response to jump scares as he wants to be, but trains himself ruthlessly until he’s mastered his flinch instinct. Brasso I think will watch with him, but he probably nit-picks at stuff that doesn’t make sense. I think Brasso is a ‘why don’t they just switch the light on?’ kind of viewer. It probably doesn’t haunt him afterwards, but there’s maybe a bit of grousing about ‘why did they even make this?’ if it’s particularly bad. Equally, if it’s a good movie he has no problem saying so and enjoying it, but doesn’t really let it haunt him.
Which one gets the most excited about Halloween: I wonder what kind of equivalent Ferrix has? It must be something to do with the stones, right, a kind of festival of remembrance? It’s probably bittersweet for Kassa initially if he’s familiar with other ways of celebrating the ancestors/remembering the dead. I wonder if those traditions got totally disrupted on Kenari though? It looks like all the older generations have been wiped out, do enough of the kids that are left know/remember the ways to honour their dead?
Ok well, having made myself sad about that, I suppose the answer’s probably Brasso on Ferrix, but I bet when Cassian’s a bit older he’s drawn in by the local customs and enthusiasm – I’m sure there’s great food, and amazing songs and stories, and games to prove himself at.
Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse: TEAMWORK baby, they survive together. I won’t hear anything else.
Which one would literally kill for the other: I mean. Both. Again. That’s the point, isn’t it?
Which one likes to scare or startle the other: I think Brasso realises pretty quick that anyone trying to startle Cassian is going to get a spear up their nose/a blaster/punch to the gut. He’s not one to have tested that anyway. So if anyone’s trying to startle anyone else it’s definitely Cassian sneaking up and seeing if his victim has a guilty conscience at being interrupted doing whatever he was doing.
Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked: Mmm, I wanna say Cassian again of course, after those scary movies linger in his subconscious and he has a dream of bright-yellow poisoned bodies pouring out of a spaceship on his home planet :’) But then again, if anything spooked Brasso like space-travel seems to, I think he's blue-screen until Cassian helped him through it.
Which one always puts on a brave face: Oh both, again – again that’s part of the appeal. Cassian more competently when it really comes down to it though – there’s no brave face on Brasso when he gets in that spaceship at the end of Episode 12.
Which one would be more dangerous if they suddenly became violent: I mean. *gestures at brick* *gestures at blaster* both are armed, Cassian has a far lower threshold for violence I think, but that’s partly the situations he ends up in. Equally, when you fuck around with Brasso or his friends you’d better be prepared to find out.
Which one would be more likely to commit a crime: Again, both. But for the most part Brasso’s are probably minor, victimless crimes that are like the equivalent of nicking office stationary, if your office is a spaceship salvage yard, and, you know, lying to the police. Cassian commits the big crimes. And then Brasso commits big crimes too on his behalf.
Which one believes in ghosts: I think both do. Brasso maybe more so after Scarif. Cassian maybe tries to tell himself he’s not worthy of being visited by ghosts, but the boy is carrying Kenari’s ghosts with him wherever he goes, and Clem, and Kino, and Nemik, and…*sob* you get the idea.
Which one likes to watch spooky shows on television: I think they’d both enjoy trying to figure out how ‘haunted house’ shows or real life mysteries are actually constructed – double-guessing how the props were constructed/special effects were achieved etc. Just absolutely ripping it apart together.
Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance: Cassian, to scare the other kids on Ferrix. Brasso would either be in on Cassian’s scam to fake a result, or there to be the level-headed one when a ghost talks back and it’s Cassian who gets freaked out.
Which one has nightmares more often: Cassian, for sure.
Which one would want to explore a real haunted house: Again, I think they’d go and test every creaking floorboard/poke about in every cobwebby keyhole until they figured out its secrets. Unless we’re talking about *real* haunted houses, in which case I’d defer to @r0b0tb0y and ask where Brasso fits into the 1 Rogue Street universe...

Which one is more fond of scary movies:
Nie Huaisang - he loves them, loves pretending to be scared, especially when Meng Yao's around so he can run to him and cajole him into 'comforting' him. And Meng Yao loves being needed, so even though he's not a fan of the movies, he doesn't mind when NHS puts one on.
Which one gets the most excited about Halloween:
BOTH, but for different reasons. NHS loves dressing up, finding the *best* costume and flaunting it, and spending time with all of his loved ones, and what's Halloween but an excuse to have a party? And speaking of parties... this is why Meng Yao gets excited about Halloween, because he gets to PLAN the most fabulous, the best party of the year - and if he happens to choose themes or tweak things a little to accomodate NHS' costume of the year, then none are the wiser ;) And yes, these two would do a KILLER couple's costume!
Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse:
BOTH. These two are survivors in their own ways, more so than most in the canon (my opinion). NHS has the power of Dage, the puppy dog eyes of cajoling, and an innate ability to fly by the seat of his pants to get what he wants. Meng Yao, for his part, has planned for every contingency, including nuclear apocalypses, and will definitely be among the survivors. And then when you put these two TOGETHER, they are definitely coming out on top!
Which one would literally kill for the other:
BOTH. We all know NHS would kill for someone he loves (else canon would not have happened), even if he wont' do the job himself and instead get someone else to do it and take the blame. But Meng Yao tends to classify everyone around him as "those with me" and "those against me", and he would kill for all of those who are in the with him category - of which NHS has always been (and arguably in canon as well, at least until NHS got him killed).
Which one likes to scare or startle the other:
Nie Huaisang loves to TRY to startle Meng Yao, but he doesn't *really* try, just pretends to be fun and have an excuse to put his hands on his boyfriend. Meng Yao always hears him coming but pretends he doesn't, so it's a game between them! But Meng Yao unintentionally succeeds at startling NHS - our boy gets very lost in his brain when he's painting or writing or doing anything creative, and Meng Yao can think he's telegraphing his approach so NHS will hear him coming, but NHS doesn't and gets startled no matter what.
Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked:
Meng Yao. NHS LOVES being comforted, but he doesn't *need* it. Meng Yao, however, instinctively thinks he's on his own even if his brain knows he isn't, and his childhood has really traumatised him, so when he's spooked, he's SPOOKED. Thankfully, NHS can read people better than Meng Yao can, and at the first hint that Meng Yao needs comfort, he'll hang off of him and pretend it's *him* that needs it, because Meng Yao will NOT ask for it.
Which one always puts on a brave face:
Meng Yao, for sure! NHS puts on a coward's face, while Meng Yao has perfected his customer service smile (I consider that his brave face).

In canon, both because it's part of the universe. In an AU, neither - NHS might pretend he does for fun, but he won't believe it if he doesn't see it. Meng Yao is highly skeptical and refuses to believe in anything he can't see, feel, or hear himself, and others' perceptions are rarely to be trusted.
Which one likes to watch spooky show on television:
Nie Huaisang, reasons similar to the movies - but Meng Yao doesn't mind letting him ;)
Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance:
Nie Huaisang might as a lark, but not seriously. Meng Yao would only suggest it if it's part of a greater plan to do something else, like trick some rich guy out of his money or kill his father.
Which one has nightmares more often:
Meng Yao. So many things give him nightmares, from his childhood in the brothel to the Sunshot Campaign.
Which one would want to explore a real haunted house:
NEITHER. NHS wouldn't want to get dirty, and Meng Yao would be insulted you'd think he'd go into a death trap that likely hasn't seen renovations in five decades.

Once again reviewing less known/unpopular dramas... Ghost Host, Ghost House (2022, Thai BL) delivers what it promises to be in the first episode: supernatural family drama about ghosts, with a side of romance. I have an affection for media that knows what it wants to be and executes that.
Kevin, now an adult and ready for university, arrives in Thailand to visit family he hasn't seen for a decade - as his mother moved them to the USA when he was young. He's a budding video blogger whose gimmick seems to be: cute gay boy who visits haunted houses. Little does he know that the family he's come to stay with are all dead. The loved ones once separated by geography, as a child of immigrants, are now separated from him in a way he is yet to understand. There at the old family home he also runs into Pleum, a local boy with big dreams who is cheerfully navigating through 5 odd jobs and begins to pursue the visiting hot boy with the same dedication. But whose family is also hiding wounds of his own.
"This flower reflects the reality. Pain hasn't gone elsewhere. It's just hidden, so we can move on and live our lives."
Don't come looking for a thriller or scares or ghost hunting. It's not a fast-paced drama, it's about the characters.
It's charmingly earnest in the two young men's fumbling birth of a romance, elements of whimsical humor in Kevin's ghost family navigating death (think Beetlejuice), and occasionally poignant in discussions of mortality, grief, and letting go. The family relationships are given equal weight to the romance.
There wasn't a tonal whiplash for me. The sweet & sexy parts fit alongside the fact that both MLs are surrounded by death and need to come to terms with it. The tone is fluid. In the midst of life, there is death; in the midst of death there is life.
It's not a deeply profound, philosophical exploration of grieving and I don't think that's a failure because it's not trying to be. It's just characters who are haunted, literally and metaphorically, and who find a way to move on during the course of 8 episodes.
The couple really worked for me (until the writers imo fumbled the end). Post high school, figuring themselves out and what they want. Clearly not virgins and very comfortable with their sexuality and queer desire, while being still awkward & uncertain about how to act around a cute boy you like. I appreciated that the couple is quite sweet & soft without neutering them. They are allowed to be age-appropriate horny! They're also allowed to make mistakes & deal poorly with grief in hard moments, and then apologize and be forgiven for it. Two people who met each other in the worst timing & situation for attempting a romance. Though perhaps without the ghosts that united them, they would have lived out their lives mostly on separate continents & never found home together.
The otp like each other right away - it's external factors pulling them apart. Unresolved grief that must be dealt with and the hovering dramatic tension tension that Kevin is Thai diaspora, essentially American, and this was intended to be a temporary visit to see his relatives. He's presumably considering this a 'vacation fling', while it was clear that Pleum was ready to go all-in. A separation was basically baked into the pairing. I was anxious about how this could really work. Spoiler: happy ending, but I did not entirely like how they got there (see cut).
I would be spoiling too much to discuss in detail, but the family elements are lovely. Bittersweetness in the incomplete time we get with our loved ones. And the subtle tragedy of the opportunities Kevin lost to know his extended family; the taste of home he's been missing as his mother moved on with a new american husband.
Only 2 distracting missteps in the drama. SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING.
A. Kevin is a dual citizen who's mostly lived in America all his life. His English should be perfect but it very much isn't. But tbh to a thai viewer it likely isn't noticeable and this is a thai production; that's the intended audience, not me. So I just used my imagination. It doesn't come up frequently.
B. The requisite separation trope in the last episode is always super annoying to me in kdramas & thai dramas, because it's such a cliche. At least in this case it was foreshadowed several times since early on that Kevin was NOT ready for commitment while Pleum was. (he clearly gets uncomfortable & ducks the question repeatedly when people bring up them being boyfriends. He's not a blushing maiden, this was reluctance to commit to staying in Thailand & settling down with Pleum, despite the connection, compatibility, and everything they went thru together) And it makes sense that he was too young to be brave enough to take such a leap and hadn't made peace with his 1st love Jake's death. So for once, the separation 100% made sense and I wasn't even upset by that part! My issue was how they executed the rest. Frankly, I disagree with the writing choices. I guess they were going with the idea that Kevin was resigned to having missed out. He feels like it's too late. But I hated that they had Pleum waiting for years for Kevin to be ready and it just didn't feel certain to me that they would have reunited except by chance. Like, I wanted Kevin to choose to go to him, full-stop. Not accidentally run into him, sorry that's bullshit to me. Yes, Kevin kept a momento of their time together. Yes, he obviously wasn't over Pleum. But to me it also felt like he was just prepared to move on and never see him again. No me gusta.
There's a romantic sensual reuniting scene and Pleum seems confident that he's not going to let his man go anywhere again. And Kevin is ready to say goodbye to the memory of his 1st love and admit Pleum is the one for him. I did buy-in on the idea that they experienced something truly formative together that no one else would understand. In the end, I did feel like Kevin would make a home with him now. So it's definitely a happy ending. But.. It really annoys me because without this misstep, if they had executed the separate & unite differently, this would be a fav drama I'd rec to everyone.

Aki!!! My queen!
How I feel about this character:
Aki is one of my personal favorites in all of Yugioh when it comes to the girls. Her introduction was so cool, shes a badass. She's strong, her deck is strong, her ability to make even Yusei feel scared is awesome. I just like everything about Aki, her presence in the signers is very important and I liked her passion to learn how ride a d-wheel. She never gave up when it was hard! From being feared to being an essential part to do good is amazing.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
I only ship Aki with Yusei. Im cliché when it comes to romance and I just rooted for them the whole time. Yusei is a major influence to Aki to not let her ability to do harm to others, their bond is just so important. Aki was the one out their to look for Yusei when he was kidnapped and was okay with risking her safety to save him. And the scene where they went to the skating rink so Yusei can teach her the basics of skating before she learned how to ride a d-wheel is cute. AND the fact that Yusei built her d-wheel from scratch to surprise her is special. Aki did well and she deserved it. Aki loves Yusei and I can see no others that would be as right as them together.
my non-romantic otp for this character:
Aki and Jack! the hilarity of this dynamic for personally is quite good. When Bruno came around and Yusei spent his time with him, these two were rather jealous of that. They would bond well and agree that they want Yusei's attention. Plus the comedy, Jack is a doofus and Aki really would take much of his crap and she'll be the first one to call him out. ALSO to point out, when those jerks were trying to sabotage Aki during the license test, Jack was UPSET and noticed something was up. Jack cares, he cares a lot; Aki would also help him if needed.
my unpopular opinion about this character:
Im not sure if this is unpopular or not, but I have seen one or two comments about Aki's career path to be a doctor sudden or weird. I don't agree, when she helped that little girl; Aki made it pretty clear that she'd love a path where she can help and make people happy. I think its a very good career choice for Aki rather than going to be a pro duelist, she hurt people when she was the witch; being a doctor means she can heal and make people happy not bring harm. I just wish she didn't have to go abroad for that.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:
I WANTED AKI AND YUSEI TO KISS BEFORE THEY PARTED WAYS!!!! Those two holding hands and confessing way cute, but a KISS GOODBYE would've been the icing on the cake to such a good ending. Because at least its not a goodbye forever, Aki is going to study abroad and Yusei will be busy with his job; but they'll eventually be together again. So its not a complete goodbye. It would've been sweet to see a little look more into the future where Aki as a full fledged doctor is now back neo domino city when a job opened up and her and Yusei wanted to have a ride around the city. Let Aki/Yusei be a super power couple as a scientist/doctor team!

Omg thank you I have wanted to talk about Handcrafted more literally since I posted it and no one ever asked!! Also thank you for asking Thom/Blake, I am on the rarepair train always and forever. Also on the Caltrain local, so here forever. Under a cut bc I don't trust myself to keep it normal.
Luka/Miro in Handcrafted
49. Does either of them have a hard time being away from the other?
Luka does 😭 their red string of fate will NOT let them be. But also Luka is bored and sad and in love and he misses his team and he thinks Miro doesn't like him. Often when he goes walking, it's just to clear his head and get some fresh air. He knows he'll get trapped, he knows he'll get scared, and he thinks someday Miro WON'T come find him, but he's an athlete and a human, he can't be inside all the time. He just walks out the door every couple of days praying Miro still comes to help him.
Also very fun to write Luka with big emotions that are: anxiety and sadness and so much love. Love that big emotional baby.
1. Who would end a heated argument by defending their actions with ‘because I love you!’ ?
Luka because he has 5000 emotions, the crux of which is: he loves Miro, plain and simple and huge. Miro getting hella steamed abt Luka getting trapped in a warehouse by dogs with too many teeth - why were you in a warehouse Luka? Don't you know you'll get stuck? Why do you do these things? Why do you do this to yourself? Luka lets out a defeated "because I love you and I want to be near you but you don't want me near you." Miro clenches his jaw and thinks about the days when they slept together in an uncomplicated way, fooling around in bedrooms on their off days. But maybe it was always complicated, he thinks, for Luka.
15. Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving?
Luka does bc he's so goofy and pathetic. Every time Miro rescues him and Roope feeds them and Miro sends him home, he stands on Esa's porch and tells Miro he loves him before he goes. It takes Miro a long time to say he loves Luka back and that's in a hypothetical future I'm still puzzling out, but in Handcrafted Dallas, Luka says I love you as much as he can. I love you, he says every time he leaves Miro, because maybe this is the last time he sees Miro. Maybe Miro says it back. Maybe Luka won't be alone this time (he is ☹️)
Thom/Blake in Seasoned Beginner
16. Can they stay up all night just talking?
If their schedules ever matched up...yes ideally, but also not really, because their schedules are opposite. They get like five seconds together during the NHL bye week before pitchers and catchers report in February. They spend three glorious days together in Blake's house in Southern California where Thom meets approximately five billion family members and spends every night post-coital with his face smashed into Blake's chest trying to breathe through the anxiety of how much Blake's family likes each other and how they like him. They think his accent is cute and Blake's mama told Thom that Blake talks about him a LOT. Thom is stressed about what that means. Thom is stressed about many things. Blake holds him close and talks about the off-season signings the Giants have made and what his buddies have been up to, names of men Thom barely knows. He wonders if it's too late to quit hockey and be Blake's full time boyfriend.
44. Who would dance in the kitchen making dinner? Would the other join in or watch from the doorway?
This is so hard to imagine bc they're both huge dorks...I think Blake would be dancing to idk some horrendous EDM while cooking and I think Thom would be helpless with lust. boy can Blake move those hips!! Thom knows like, Quebec folk dances. He doesn't know club dancing. Or like any kind of sexy dancing. Blake ALSO doesn't know any kind of dancing except Samoan dances but at this point Thom is in stupid deep and thinks everything Blake does is cool and sexy. He watches from the doorway until Blake notices and tells him to either kiss him or chop the zucchini.
53. Would they ever go skinny dipping?
Yes!!!!! And they love it!!!! They have a great time. Deep in summer when Blake has his all star break, they rent a house on the river in like....Placerville or Coloma idk and spend a couple of days just floating around the American river and playing on a tire swing and grilling wild amounts of meat and they're down so bad for each other it's kind of funny. And one day when it's later at night and all the tourist rafting companies are done for the day, they go skinny dipping at Thom's suggestion. And gosh how Blake looks in the moonlight in the water 😳 they have amazing sex after that, Thom wanted to do it outside but there were too many bugs lol.

Also let's not forget that Sara was a huge shipper of Mor/Az until she chose her character to be queer—Az as far as we know, he has always shown romantic interest for Mor and nothing else for a very long timeeeeee.
For her he would sacrifice his sanity and rationality to protect her—Az is not a soft baby, yes he's polite but let's remember this man can murder you without any second thoughts—I'll be scared as hell of him.
Do you want to pair this type of man to the sweetest girl in the planet? And yes I know the appeal of the bad boy and good girl-they look good aestethycally but nothing else, maybe if Elain was shown to have at least..a bolder side(not sexually but the personality) a dark side maybe I could give them a try but I like femenine and gentle characters☺
Come on you prefer Az over Lucien—the sexiest man in the world, a gentle man, HE HAS FIRE IN HIS BLOOD(THE AUTHOR IS FORESHADOWING😏🤭) and he's a bad boy in a sense( this man is a flirt, he's sassy and A GENTLEMAN, his loyalty has no bounds) that would never ask Elain to change for him, maybe she would become more confident by his side and El can make him feel relaxed because this boy hasn't known peace for A VERY LONG TIME.
Honestly they are my OTP😆😆😆..they are so unique and original..of Nessian, Feysand and El/riel 's dynamics I've read so many that I've got BOREDDDDD.
Everyone says all three sisters ending up with their Mates is cliche but what is more cliche is all three sisters developing ocassionally dark, vengeful personalities to make them a match for their dark, brutal warrior Illyrian males. You're so right, E/riel would be more of the same and it would be redundant coming from yet another Archeron sister.
Nesta can be dark when it comes to her enemies and Cassian isn't even the darkest of the Bat Boys, Azriel is. So if Elain were to end up with him, would it make sense that she's almost the complete opposite of Nesta? How does that work? Az's spy sessions do lead to torture sessions and people truly think Elain is going to be right there beside him for that? Staying in a court as a member of the IC where Feyre has already stated she only looks at Elain as a "pleasant companion" even after they'd grown closer?
Lucien and Elain don't need to change anything about who they are to be a match for one another. Sure they'll grow, they'll learn to stand up for themselves as individuals. But they are naturally suited to one another and there's no mental twister going on to make them fit together. Not to mention the diversity they bring to the series, where not every single main character is about training and being a warrior and getting revenge against all those who have wronged them through the most painful of ways possible. And they both deserve to find their people, the ones who look at them as the most important part of their lives rather than an afterthought.

AUGHH THANK YOU SO MUCH ANON!!! YOU'RE SO SWEET <3 and your ship taste is just out of this world good too. I actually have never thought about cryle parenting headcanons so this post is going to be exclusively k2, BUT rest assured they are On My Brain now and I will make a headcanon post for them one day!! In the meantime, here are K2 parenting headcanons:
I think Kenny would actually be fairly hesitant about having kids, at least initially? He's SO loyal and steadfast to the people he loves but he's simultaneously a little scared of that huge commitment and the responsibility that comes with it, especially after being more responsible than any child should have to be. I can also see him worrying about falling into the cycle that caused his parents to become the way they were.
Kyle is definitely the one who's most confident about wanting kids; he LOVES them and has always had the maternal urge like his mom. He understands and respects Kenny's hesitance, though, so they probably only have kids when they're in their 30s or later, when Kenny's had time to recover/heal and they're a lot more financially secure than Kenny used to be.
Kenny is the most devoted parent ever though when they finally have them. He obviously loves Karen more than anything as a kid, and that sense of protectiveness/devotion definitely carries over to his actual kids. He also absolutely SPOILS them once he has the means to, which Kyle disapproves of but knows better than to try and stop him.
Kenny is the best sport with dress up. He lets his kids paint his nails and shows them off to everyone even when they're absolutely terribly done. He also puts together a new Princess Kenny costume and is probably more into playing castle games than his kids are. He's ENDLESS entertainment and his kids love it.
He's also very good at doing hair from doing Karen's hair as a kid, so he helps with that. Kyle does need to step in if their kids end up with curly hair though, because he was NOT prepared for that. He's a very quick learner, though! He gets the hang of it.
I talked a lot about Kyle in my style parenting headcanons first, so I'm not going to say a ton about him because I think he'd be very similar to how he is as a parent with Stan. The main things about him as a parent are that he IS Sheila 2.0 in the sense of insane amounts of protectiveness.
HOWEVER one of the differences between style and k2 is that while Stan would try to calm Kyle down from going to the PTA meetings (and would be protective in different ways), Kenny would also show up. That scene where Kyle asks Kenny to tell Cartman to shut up and he immediately does it with vigor is very reminiscent of how they would be as parents imo. If Kyle does it, Kenny's all in.
Kenny breaks out the opera singing (or just the singing in general) for their kid, and he's surprisingly still good at it. Kyle's in charge of bedtime stories and reading in general, but Kenny's the one who does the crazy voices when it comes to dialogue.
Their kid would just be so cute, okay. They're both extremely cute and their kid is just a bastion of cuteness. And unexpected mischief, mostly from Kenny's side. Kenny worries a lot about their kid having some of his more difficult to handle traits as a kid (like his rampant 10 year old flirtiness) and Kyle has to reassure him that he also put a million good traits into the mix. They have the most hard working kid ever in the end, though. Both of them are just SO committed to what they do that they instill that value very strongly into their kids. Sometimes too strongly! They need to chill sometimes.
Overall they are just extremely good parents, and they function very well together!!

Let's see Genesis! 😁
Sexuality Headcanon: tbh I'm a sucker for aromantic bisexual Genesis. I'm also good with just plain bisexual Genesis, it really depends on whether I'm in the mood for romance. But depending on the setting aromantic Genesis may also have some kind of weird complex relationship which is about 70% him basking in the fact that he can get people to love him romantically (yes he may need therapy for this but what does he not need therapy for)
Gender Headcanon: trans man Genesis is def my favorite flavor
A ship I have with said character: the OTP would be Genesis and Angeal. Just the childhood friends opposite attracts thing they have moving to the fallout in Crisis Core? Delicious. But the whole ASGZC combo is also a big favorite
A BROTP I have with said character: this is hard because I feel I lowkey ship Genesis with all his canon friends, and I can recognize that objectively being friends with this man would be a massive chore. He and Aerith would have a blast together tho. I feel depending on how they get introduced to each other they would either hate each other or become instant besties, no in-between
A NOTP I have with said character: I think I'm good with all popular Genesis ships? Like there's characters I definitely would not see him with but it all feels like ships I would make up on the spot and not things I've actually seen people ship
A random headcanon: he will get on Angeal's case about his plants bringing bugs inside but he actually doesn't care that much about bugs in general. He finds them gross but he's perfectly capable of taking care of them himself. After all, Genesis did grow up in the countryside in the middle of nowhere, the ugliest spider in the world climbing into window was just a regular Tuesday thing. But being dramatic about bugs in general is - aside from the pleasure of bitching - a perfect way to hide that he is actually terrified of those bugs that like to fly around in particular. Like wasps, bees, some beetles, dragonflies. It's not that he's scared of being stung or anything, he just hates that these things will fly straight at his face for no reason and he can't stand it when they do that. It just freaks him out. Whenever it happens he'll start flailing around and trying to chase it away and he somehow feels his dignity is preserved if everyone thinks "oh Genesis being a drama queen again" instead of "oh so Genesis hates those in particular huh"
General Opinion over said character: I love him so much I would die for him he scratches all of my beloved blorbo itches I just want Squenix to show him to me again please

Echo's Extensive List of Greek Mythology Headcanons
Hermes and Iris race for fun in their free time (Hermes beats Iris but only because she lets him keep his magical shoes on)
Ares goes into full on protective older brother mode when someone makes fun of Hephaestos except when it's Aphrodite
Aphrodite and Eros scheme together over who should be the next OTP
Hera is a really sweet stepmom to her godly stepchildren after she gets over her initial grudge (that ones not 100% untrue, she's mostly pretty nice to them after she's gotten through her murdering phase, given the child survives that phase)
Ariadne got the ability to create powerful illusions and confusions in people heads after she married Dionysus (being the wife of the god of madness i think might give you that quirk also it fits the labyrinth)
Nyx scares the underworld out of everyone except her children and Selene who comes over for a drink every now and then (also not entirely unbased at some point she scares zeus away when he's after her kid Hypnos (mother of the year) Selene literally never interacts with her but i can imagine them gossiping like 40 y/o wine mums for some reason)
Thanatos is really touched by the people he has to take to the afterlife, when its a child he carries it in his arms or takes them by the hand the entire way into the underworld
Charon hums while he crosses Styx to cheer up the souls (it comes of as horribly creepy but he's trying his best you guys)
Whenever Persephone is in the underworld the place is full of colourful flowers cuz she thinks asphodels are too bland by themselves
Demeter keeps a collection of all the plants that used to be people until they were cursed/transformed to passive-agressivly assert dominance
Athena takes her owl everywhere she goes, unfortunately it's not very fond of mortals, Odysseus is freaking terrified of that bird
The nine muses have to approve and critique every piece of music Apollo writes, there usually isn't anything to critique but he still really values their opinion
Artemis constantly makes fun of her brother for being love sick but she keeps a box full of sweet dates under her place at the banquet table in case she needs to cheer him up
Artemis takes in girls that are survivors of abuse or assault and helps them get revenge on the pderson that wronged them even if they aren't virgins anymore
Apollo and Artemis constantly annoyed Helios and Selene when they were little like: Uncle Helios can i ride in the chariot with you? Dad said you have to let me come with you! Please, just for a little bit, I'm not gonna set anything on fire again, I promise!
Hestia is extremely gentle and soft spoken yet nobody dares to talk back to her or interrupt her (once again kinda plausible since she's the oldest, also both Apollo and Poseidon proposed marriage to her which she politely declined, there's zero consequences for that which is odd seeing how Apollo and Poseidon usually react to rejection)

Charon: The ferryman that carries the dead on his ship over the underworld river styx
Hypnos: God of sleep, son of Nyx
Selene: Goddess of the moon, until later mythology where she was often merged with Artemis
Helios: God of the sun, until later mythology were he was often merged with Apollo

To the ask game... Shadow
An interesting choice! ^-^
do I like them:
Hmmm... kinda? He's not in my top 5 favourite characters, but I do think he is cool and I like his backstory.
5 good qualities:
I used to be quite scared of SA2's story (I was young and easily startled), but I have warmed up to it, and though I do know not everyone likes it I consider it to tackle quite a few topics I would otherwise not have thought about in an engaging and touching way. Like Gerald's desperation to save his dying granddaughter, the idea of weapons of mass destruction, everyone's fear of Shadow and what he can do as the Ultimate Lifeform, and so on.
I like how Shadow does not waste words on things that should not have words wasted on them. It's a nice contrast to Sonic, but it also shows how they are the same: Sonic is not above quipping and joking, but he knows how to watch his words in situations where it counts. Shadow just seems a lot more extreme in that regard.
This might be a very unpopular opinion, but I like how he buried the hatchet with GUN and now works together with them to ensure prosperity for the world. It seems like a bittersweet ending to the 50+ years of strive that spanned out between GUN, the Commander, Shadow, and Gerald, even if Shadow was frozen for most of those 50 years. I like to think that Shadow and the Commander managed to reconcile and both went on to make GUN a better organisation.
He also has a nice friendship with Rouge and Omega! They seem exactly like the bunch of misfits who hit it off together immediately, and it's nice to see how Shadow is able to make friends with others and form close bonds despite being somewhat misanthropic and very much preferring to be by himself.
And lastly, I like his vow to move on and no longer live for the past in the ending of ShTH. For a character whose story mostly happened 50 years in the past and who has very little remaining from that era, I think it is nice that he decides to live for the future instead.
3 bad qualities:
I honestly don't like how he is written in IDW. He feels needlessly rude and blunt, in a way that I cannot envision game!Shadow to act like.
While I wasn't around in the Sonic fandom when SA2 and Heroes were released, I do agree with the sentiment that it might have been better to wait one or two games for Shadow to have made his return. Heroes had a lot going on with four teams, and thus Shadow's plotline of amnesia and the Shadow Androids honestly got put on the backburner somewhat.
Why oh why did Sega make everything point towards him just murdering the Jackal Squad in Episode Shadow from Forces? Infinite states Shadow "destroyed [his] squad", Eggman states that "Defense Squad Jackal has already been completely annihilated" and "totally wrecked", making Shadow quip about how Eggman should have hired some defense squads for the defense squad. Sure, terms like destroyed and wrecked all do not explicitly state that he killed them ('annihilated' however is not just an "oh oopsie Shadow gave one a kick and now he's bruised but they're totes fine I swear!!"), but considering the way Infinite reacted, I do not think the Jackal Squad escaped with their lives. Considering how it set a large chunk of the plot of Forces in motion, this was one of the more dumbass moves on Shadow's parts, and I also find it somewhat uncharacteristically brutal of him after his character development.
favourite episode/etc:
I think he is very neat in Sonic Battle! His whole shtick as weapon of mass destruction who sees Emerl as the same is quite heartwrenching. I should play the game again, it's got a great story imo!

Rouge is in charge of which movie they watch (generally very sappy chick flicks), Omega makes the popcorn, and Shadow provides the occasional biting commentary about what is happening on the screen regarding contrived plot points and overall idiocy of the characters.

Which one is more fond of scary movies:
Nie Huaisang - 1) because they give him an excuse to act more scared than he is and he can whine and cajole his way into being 'comforted', and 2) because to be quite honest, Jin Zixun is 'fond' of very little in the universe.
Which one gets the most excited about Halloween:
Nie Huaisang - he LOVES the chance to dress up and act like someone else, preferably with a mask firmly in place (is it any wonder the first fic I wrote of this pair had them both in masks and fucking anonymously?). Jin Zixun would just see it as an event for his uncle to show off the family wealth to the world with a grand party where Zixun can go out of his way to piss someone off (when they're 'together', NHS allows him one or two asshole moves before dragging him off into the Koi Tower gardens, telling his brother he's just doing his part to keep the peace between the sects)
Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse:
Nie Huaisang: 1) Do you REALLY think Nie Mingjue wouldn't do everything he can to make sure his brother survives the worst case scenarios? Plus he knows how to make the puppy dog eyes that make people give in to him. 2) Jin Zixun will think he's good because his uncle's money has of course paid for the BEST fallout shelter possible, and only the BEST people will be allowed inside, yet at the time of its necessity, Zixun will no doubt get into a fight with someone, likely a 'lower class' person trying to get into the shelter, and Jin Guangshan will decide his nephew is expendable and shut the shelter up before Zixun can get in.
Which one would literally kill for the other:
BOTH. We all know from canon just how far NHS would go for someone he loves (the plot would not happen otherwise!). Jin Zixun is the same, in his own way. He's a guard dog for his uncle, doing whatever is asked of him, and is loyal to his cousin. Once someone is considered 'his', even if it's not love but possession of some kind, Zixun won't let any insult go unanswered.
Which one likes to scare or startle the other:
Jin Zixun, for sure. Though NHS is rarely actually scared or startled - but he enjoys pretending, it lets Zixun feel he's got one over on him, and NHS has his own ways of getting under his skin.
Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked:
The operative word here is NEED - so my answer is Jin Zixun. NHS doesn't need to be comforted, but he LOVES it and will exaggerate his fear in order to get it. Zixun has actually received very little comfort (emotional/affectionate) in his life - you give your family face and suck up whatever you're feeling or else you're doing the Jin name dishonour - and deep inside him is a scared little boy who wishes he could have gone to someone to crawl into their arms when the world was rough. So yeah, Zixun NEEDS comforting more, but he'd never ask for it, would fight even if its given to him voluntarily and without being asked for, and he fights BECAUSE he's terrified he needs it that much.
Which one always puts on a brave face:
Jin Zixun - no question! His family is all about saving face, and showing fear would NOT be acceptable in the Jin. NHS, on the other hand, happily whines and cries over every little inconvenience.
Which one would be more dangerous if they suddenly became violent:
Nie Huaisang. JZXun we expect to get violent at the drop of a hat - any hat - but NHS is so severely underestimated that he'd hit you before you ever saw him coming (or convinced someone else to hit you, he doesn't like to get his own hands dirty).
Which one would be more likely to commit a crime:
BOTH - depending on the crime. If you're looking at smuggling, conspiracy to (get someone else to) commit murder, and cheating in school, Nie Huaisang is your man. If you're looking at war crimes, then it's Jin Zixun.
Which one believes in ghosts:
In canon, both - it's part of the universe. In an AU: Jin Zixun. NHS would pretend he does, but wouldn't actually believe unless there's evidence. Zixun, however, is extremely superstitious - he's a man who believes that all of his problems are caused by external things, and is more likely to believe that his bad luck is because of a ghost or a curse than because of his own bad choices.
Which one likes to watch spooky show on television:
Nie Huaisang. He enjoys having fun, even if it's being scared. Zixun would act like the shows are just stupid and you'd have to be ridiculous to be afraid of anything on them, but secretly, because of his superstitious nature and belief in the supernatural, he's more likely to take them serious and be genuinely freaked out, hence he avoids them.
Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance:
In canon, Jin Zixun, if only because it would be a normal part of his work as a cultivator, and Nie Huaisang wants to stay as far away from work as possible. In an AU, Nie Huaisang, because Zixun would be too freaked out by the supernatural to be on board.
Which one has nightmares more often:
Jin Zixun. In canon, even though the Jin entered the Sunshot Campaign later than most of the other sects, they still participated - Zixun would have fought with his cousin, and war is traumatic. Furthermore, he would be haunted by the things he's done to the Wen in the post-war camps - he'd never admit it to a soul, especially not his uncle, but he's a human being, and one doesn't take part in that kind of torture and mistreatment and murder without it affecting them. And both in canon and in an AU, he would have regular nightmares about losing his position in the family - he knows his power and status is directly linked to what Jin Guangshan thinks of him and how useful he is to his uncle, and he has nightmares that the day will come that he's no longer useful, and fears what will happen to him then.
Which one would want to explore a real haunted house:
In canon, Jin Zixun - like with the seance, it would be part of his job. In an AU, NEITHER - Zixun believes in the supernatural and would stay the fuck away, and Huaisang would NOT want to go someplace dingy and dirty and potentially get slimed, not in this outfit, do you have ANY idea how much it cost to get a matching fan?

Coricopat!!! but also I've been thinking about Tantomima and Tantomile being friends with Jemima since I've heard some headcanons floating around about Jemima potentially having some sort of powers, and like just imagine her trying to keep it a secret. she's scared, ashamed even, her having powers just makes her more similar to her dad and that's the last person she wants to be similar to. but cori and tanto know she has them cause well their psychics and guiding her through it. imagine Tantomile being a sort of mentor for Jemima. them bounding cause they're both out of the ordinary and Jemima is worried about making her friends afraid of her and tantomile knows the feeling of being feared or looked at with caution all too well. There's alot of potential there is what i'm trying to say.
