I knew this was coming and I am PREPARED. (sorry for the late answers I have an exam on Tuesday that I’m procrastinating). Also tagging @bibuddie because she also asked the same thing!

Anyway:

Why I like them: Eddie constantly tries to do the right thing, and when he realizes that what he thought was right isn’t actually, he actively tries to work on himself. He’s steadfast, loyal and dependable, and I love that about him. And he’s a dad to the cutest person in the world!

Why I don’t like them: I don’t have a reason not to like him, but I don’t like the way he internalizes and then lashes out when he feels backed into a corner, just because that trope is one that we see in all men on TV. However, he does go to work those things out, and I loved see that, because that’s the type of growth I like seeing.

Favourite episode: Honestly? As cliche as this is, 3x15. I loved seeing his past and seeing the things that shaped his character. While 3x15 did leave me with more questions than answers, I still say it was wonderful to give us that much into his life.

Other than that, 2x10′s fountain scene because he’s so unsure and defensive about trusting Buck but Buck is his regular, steady self and Eddie ends up spilling what’s up. I think that was a great thing to see that he’s found himself someone to confide in.

Favourite season: Hm...Well in season 3, I think we saw a lot of development in his character. In season 2, we didn’t see as many emotions from him but season 3 was a whole rollercoaster. So aside from the god-awful haircut, season 3 lmao.

Favourite line: “Buck, there’s nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you.”

Okay and I know this could be because of the Buddie shipper thing but I think that comes secondary to just...Eddie in general. Like...Christopher is the thing his world revolves around, and for him to entrust that in his best friend, I think it says as much about Eddie that it does about Buck. (and then their relationship, too).

Also equal to that is “You’re not just any kid. You’re my kid and I love you more than anything else in this world.”

I died when he said that because he’s such a good dad.

Favourite outfit: You of all people shouldn’t have to ask. Also. Two vantage points because I’m nice like that.

OTP: ...do you really need to ask. It’s him and Buck! They stay winning!

BroTP: okay but I think Eddie and Karen would wreak havoc but also Chim and Eddie would be such a great pair because they both could get up to shit and no one would really suspect them working together. But above all, Chris and Eddie are just. *chef’s kiss*

Headcanon: Man...I have so many for Eddie. I do headcanon that he’s a book nerd (like yours truly) and maybe also a dancer. Also, the way that he rifled through those engines on two separate occasions has me thinking that he’s great at mechanical work. Maybe it could’ve been one of those three jobs.

Unpopular opinion: his hair doesn’t count I don’t think xD Hm...I don’t think for one moment that Eddie’s huge on PDA? if that counts. But that’s more of a fic thing...

another (nsfw) one is that he’s always the top, like...no.

A wish: I was just telling @oneawkwardcookie this but I wish we got to see the photos on his fireplace mantle. I gotta know. ALSO BRING BACK THIS FLANNEL (and hair ahem). And tell me what jobs my good sir be working — bring me that resume.

Sansa Appreciation Week 2020, Day 7 (@sansaweek-2020) - Love Interests

Domeric Bolton.

Sansa x Domeric is my crack OTP but if the show had to take Sansa out of the Vale early and have her marry a Bolton, they should have ressurected Domeric instead of foisting her onto Ramsay. Nobody deserves Ramsay, least of all Sansa!!!

If D&D did the research they could have integrated Domeric into both the Vale and Northern intrigue plots while maintaining Liittlefinger’s intelligence and the Ramsay-Domeric Cain and Abel story, what a waste. They could meet at the Eyrie after Lysa’s death when Lord Royce comes up to investigate. Domeric would fill Harry the Heir’s role in that version of the story so he’d be doomed regardless, whether by Ramsay, Stannis, or Jon’s hands. But I digress...

All Sansa wanted at the beginning was to marry a handsome knight, fall in love, and have a happy family. To have a life like in the songs (presumably in the south). In AFFC she reminisces about how she begged Ned to make the old singer stay at Winterfell, or better yet, a young and handsome singer. Domeric played the high harp, and what do harpers do in this universe? They sing. Sansa plays the harp and sings too.

Domeric was well on his way to becoming a champion tourney knight, and Sansa loves tourneys... maybe by S5 he could have gotten there. What’s more, they both love to read - Domeric his histories and Sansa poetry and fables (she could read and write better than any of her brothers).

Domeric just wanted to make friends with a brother of his blood [read: happy family], and he disobeyed his father in pursuit of that friendship. Perhaps that was naive of him in the wild world of Westeros, just like it was naive of Sansa to disobey her father and trust Cersei. They were both hopeful people who had their dreams broken by the world.

They’re both Northerners with connections to the south and the Vale in particular. Domeric squired for Lord Redfort, he would have had the culture shock of the Faith of the Seven and their culture of chivalry and ceremony. Whether he felt more at home at the Dreadfort/Barrowton or in the Vale, he spent his formative years at the Redfort, and Vale culture would have made an impact on him. I imagine that he would have ended up somewhat caught between the two cultures. The only other Northman that we know of who is like this is Ned. We don’t hear of the Karstarks or Umbers or Hornwoods or Manderlys sending their sons south to squire (though anything is possible). Likewise, Sansa is seen as the most southron of her siblings; she has the biggest connection with the Faith of the Seven out of any of the Starklings. The fact that she’s the only one of Ned and Cat’s children to end up in the Vale is only circumstantial.

But he was a Bolton, you say. Yes, I reply. That millennia-old rivalry and the bloody tide of recent events make for a gripping story. Two kindred spirits brought together yet forced across at odds by the cruelty of circumstance. Or, two jaded former idealists forced to interact with a person who has echoes of “their old selves”.

Sansa x Domeric is a ship to launch a thousand plots, a thousand conflicts, in a thousand AU universes. But there are five main ones.

Romeo and Juliet style forbidden love between scions of rival houses

A happy relationship thrown into turmoil when external events (cough, cough, Roose, cough) intervene

Forced/Arranged Marriage enemies to lovers plot where they find that peace can work because they’re not so different in the end

Apolitical/peace AU where it’s just an adorable boy meets girl and they both like singing the harp and tourneys and it’s wonderful.

Vampires and Werewolves.

Why I like them he’s so genuine and open and loyal and god he’s so kind. he’ll do literally anything for people that he loves. he’s always thinking of how he can help them best and i love that thoughtfulness in him. he’s genuinely so good with such a huge heart. i also really love that he’s kind of a dumbass. Why I don’t i did not like buck 1.0. i didn’t like the cocky asshole attiude he had or the way he disregarded the seriousness of his job. i don’t love his recklessness or the way that he’s kind of careless with his own safety. he’s singleminded sometimes, and thats not always a great thing. and it kills me how he doesn’t think he’s worth much. Favorite episode (scene if movie) 2x04. Favorite season/movie three. i think? Favorite line “this is eddies house, im not really a guest” kind of makes me wanna set myself on FIRE. “crime is hard.” is hilarious, and his monolgoue at the end of 3x3 gets me every single time. Why I like them he’s incredibly giving if he loves you, loyal, easy to forgive, he’s sassy and brave, and his love for his son is as endless as the sky. he’s dependable af and i love that he can basically do anything. Why I don’t it literally ruins me that he, like buck, never feels good enough. also taht he’s so guarded and he just...doesnt talk about things when he’s hurting, just implodes because thats what he was taught, to suck it up. Favorite episode (scene if movie) still 2x04 Favorite season/movie still three. 1. JASON VOORHEES - Friday the 13th

i’ve been accused of being Pamela kin because of how much I love this boy. (I mean, I also cosplay and rp Pam too, so that could be why, but anyways.) He just really pulls at my heartstrings. The first Jason movie I ever actually saw was Freddy vs Jason and out of any of the movies that really shows like how. fucking tragic his death is (although it was a bit of a change from earlier canon, where Jason went out on his own rather than being chased by bullies.)

Jason Voorhees has done nothing wrong in his life, ever. He’s just trying to avenge his mom and make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to some other kid. Also I’ve almost drowned once because the lifeguard either wasn’t paying attention or couldn’t actually recognize the signs of drowning SO THAT’S KIND OF RELATEABLE TOO. He’s just. not scary to me, I just want him to know his momma’s proud of him. And that he’s handsome and has a nice ass and cheekbones.

2. PAMELA VOORHEES - Friday the 13th

If the previous couple of paragraphs didn’t make it clear enough, I’m pretty damn obsessed with Pam. She was assaulted at age 15, gave birth to a disabled child at age 16, probably kicked out of her home at the time because it was the fuckin 40′s and people treated unwed teenage mothers like SHIT, and raised her baby by herself, killed her abusive husband, suffers through mental illness alone and untreated and then, NOT MUCH OLDER THAN I AM, her son disappears at a lake when people you trusted were supposed to be watching him. His body is never recovered. Your whole fucking world is gone and nobody will do anything to help you because of how he looked.

I would absolutely do the same thing in her shoes (which….probably says a little something about me, but that’s beside the point.) She just wanted to stop them from opening the fucking camp so another mother doesn’t have to endure knowing that their baby is at the bottom of the lake.

I never knew that the original killer of the Friday franchise wasn’t Jason–so when I first played it I was absolutely fucking ecstatic that slasher that started off this franchise, and inspired so many other movies, was a woman, and a mother, just trying to find justice and peace. I never thought I’d live long enough to grow old, but now I’m highkey looking forward to my 50′s when I can pull off her cosplay much more accurately.

3. BUBBA SAWYER - Texas Chainsaw Massacre

hhhh big man handsome. He’s so fucking sweet tho??? He does what he does because if he doesn’t, Drayton’s gonna yell at him and hit him and things get worse. He’s scared. HE FLINCHES WHEN SALLY FUCKING YELLS AT HIM. He’s a baby??? A horny baby. TCM 2 is my favorite horror movie. He has amazing body language and the sounds he makes are fantastic. And as a seamster I just am fucking all over in love with the set design and costume design in the TCM movies, and I just think it’s great that he makes his own damn masks and has a room full of bones because fuck man, me too??? (I mean I only have a bucket full of bones that are supposed to be whitening atm but. I wish to make more things out of bones in the future.)

4. SADIE CUNNINGHAM & MCKAYLA HOOPER - Tragedy Girls

I feel like it’d be cheating to put them separately, but Tragedy Girls is also legit one of my favorite horror movies. Also? Big Bi Energy. I like that they’re like, highkey prep goth. FUcking. teenage girls, capturing a slasher and planning their own murder sprees??? I’m probably going to get weird looks for this, but they’re the exact kind of friendship that I wished I had when I was a kid. That sort of impenetrable bond is like, dare I say, OTP. I wish I had this movie when I was younger. They’re killer queens, Heathers eat your FUCKING hearts out.

5. MOTHERFACE- Dude Bro Party Massacre III

I know she’s like, a joke slasher, but she’s honestly so great. Like, this movie is probably the funniest fucking movie I’ve ever seen and I want all of you to watch it immediately (preferably with friends), so I don’t want to spoil too much, but I’ve seen a lot of people want a vigilante slasher who goes after shitty men AND HELLO, THAT IS HER, MOTHERFACE. Her design is both grotesque and sexy in a way that I don’t hate, I think it’s fantastic. I relate to her because I too, am full of shitty one-liners and eventually run out of steam thinking of them.

6. TIFFANY VALENTINE - Bride of Chucky

i want her to marry me

I keep thinking back to this 4x14 scene:

I think the way they edited this montage scene is very interesting. We not only see Karen helping Hen put her vest on but we also see Maddie watching as Chim puts his on. We don't see Bobby doing it but we see Athena is out investigating the shootings (their opening shots for this sequence absolutely mirror each other as it does with Sue's). And we are shown (in between the two shots mentioned above) Buck putting the vest on himself, looking into the mirror as he does.

He's looking into the mirror to make sure he puts it on correctly. Karen is helping adjust Hen's vest to make sure it fits correctly. Maddie is watching Chim put his on, the point being she can step in to help at any time if needed.

When Bobby mentions how hard it will be for their families because they will be the ones that have to watch as the firefighters leave and know they may not come home, we see Maddie listening as Chim says goodbye to Jee-Yun, and we see Hen leaving the breakfast table as Karen, Denny, and Hen's mom watch. This is after we see Christopher waking Buck up because he wants to talk to Eddie.

Then we have Hen asking if their families are in danger, which Bobby says they have no reason to think that. And Buck says: "We had no reason to think Eddie would get shot helping a kid, either." Then we see a shot of Eddie with a breathing tube and Ana asking if there's anything new with the nurse reassuring her that Eddie's vitals look good which then leads into the scene with Christopher and Buck.

This whole scene was very loud. That scene of Buck looking into the mirror as he puts the vest on, in between Karen helping Hen, and Maddie watching Chim, is intentional and absolutely speaks loudly to the audience of just who is missing from that lineup.

“beauty” impressions

{Quick request to anyone reading: I’m watching OUaT for the first time, and I want to avoid spoilers. So, if you want to discuss something spoilery, I’d be grateful if you could start a new post for that. Thank you!}

Well… That sure happened

Now that I am nothing more than the hollowed-out, broken shell of a person, let me share my feelings with you! But under the cut. (Fair warning: there is a lot of sadness in here. Proceed with caution and maybe a mug of hot chocolate. Also, don’t open this on mobile. I went a bit screencap-happy.)

I loved this episode? So much? I know, I was really subtle about it, and it’s possible to miss amidst all the crying but hoooly crap, this is easily among my Top 3, I think.

Alright, quick rundown of the “side plots”, because while That Thing™ is definitely at the forefront of my mind after watching, the other stuff going on was actually pretty good and important plot developments. Which, really is another point in the episode’s favour. Yes, the Halloween-plot worked well to space out the other stuff, and it provided some much-needed relief of tension, but it was clearly important in its own right, so…

Guh. Henry. You know I love you, but I will also find a way to smack you in the head with a rolled-up newspaper, because you are an idiot. …yes, I get that he feels like he just lost his family all over again, and that’s not something that inclines people to adventurous behaviour, but still. You were so close!

Instead, we get this:

Which, uh… I’m not saying Ivy shouldn’t have good things in life, because lord knows, that was a sad, sad story right there, but this also did not sound like you two will be good for each other. Neither of you really want a safe, “uncomplicated” romantic relationship, you want a family. Ivy, specifically, needs someone to who doesn’t just love her conditionally, and Henry… well, Henry mostly just needs to wake up from the curse, because what he wants will be all over the place until he does.

Still, Ivy’s moment of bravery when saying that she’ll deal with Belfrey and the others should enjoy their Halloween was pretty heart-warming. Did I mention that this lady worries me? I’m worried for her, and I am still worried about her.

In other news: I’m pretty sure I know where Hook’s daughter is, now.

I mean, I could still be wrong, but that seems like one hell of a red herring to put out. And it opens up so many questions! Did they meet again before the curse, or is this a horrible game of emotional keepaway? Does Rumple know who these two are to each other? What, exactly, is his relationship with Tilly/Alice? I mean, he was so ready to fight Tremaine over her, before and after he woke up, and he went into 107% Concerned Dad Mode when he thought she was hurting, so he clearly feels very protective of her, but when did that happen? How did that happen? Is she actually this “guardian” or is that Henry? Or is this just one big prophecy-screw, after all? Seriously, you’d think after that first disastrous experience, Rumple would have learned to never trust a prophecy. Ever. Why am I the only one here who remembers that??

Ahem. Anyways. Lots of potential there. I can’t wait to see how that one unfolds.

Other highlights included Weaver butting heads with Belfrey. It was glorious. I almost wish Rumple had woken up just a little bit later, because watching these two go up against each other was a pure delight.

Also, this:

I was also deeply amused by the conversation between Weaver and Rogers. Okay, maybe “amused” isn’t quite the word, because it’s clear that Roger’s cold case is how the curse incorporated his search for his daughter into his memories, so it could keep torturing him with the loss. Which, you know, doesn’t really qualify as amusing. But Weaver is the walking, talking personification of that meme “’I don’t care,’ I say, caringly, as I care way too much.”

Yes, it is immediately obvious that you do not care about anyone. At all. Not even a little.

Really, the relationship between Weaver and Tilly might just have made it on the top of my list for this season, on the strength of this episode alone. The way this kind of terrible person cared so deeply for young woman, showed concern for her well-being, and directly jeopardised his own advantage and safety to help her just pushed aaaall of my buttons.

And Tilly’s mounting desperation to remind Weaver of who he really is, before she loses herself again was heart-breaking to watch. She knew she wasn’t getting out of this with her mind in once piece, but right until the end she didn’t stop fighting to help her friend.

…look, “help” looks different for different people, alright?

And with that…

Thanks, show! It’s not like I really needed my heart in the first place. Fantastic light, though.

So, I pretty much knew what was coming (in general terms at least), because… well, I had some warning and it didn’t take that much guessing in the first place. And I saw the “how” the moment that montage started because I, too, have seen Up.

I still cried like a hungry baby. My cat was very concerned.

please. your face. I cannot deal with this.

This was such a well-told story. They really gave it their all to show that yes, these two were happy, at the end. The montage, for one, which even for people who haven’t seen Up works as a good visual shorthand. The nostalgic clutter in the house. The fact that these two dorks still dance around the house when they feel like it. All the little gestures between them—the fond looks, the little tuck of a blanket, Rumple matching Belle’s steps perfectly as they walk out into the garden. I just… they were so happy together.

And I’m glad they told the story like this. Nothing bad happened to Belle. Her life wasn’t some inspiring tragedy or anything like that. She spent her life with her True Love. She raised her son and saw him grow up well. She got to fulfil her dream of travelling the world, and did so together with the people she loved most. And she died after a long and happy life, not in some grand, dramatic fashion, but simply because that is what mortals do. We die.

hi, is anyone else absolutely convinced that he carved that with his own two hands rather than use magic? because I am and I want to share my feelings! there’s quite a lot of them…

And just… you know, when that conversation with Gideon happens, and Rumple says ruefully that time might have stood still for this realm, but it didn’t for Belle… you just know he forgot about it. They were together, and they were happy, and he was so determined to spend the rest of his life with her that he didn’t realise what was happening right until she fell off that ladder. It’s clear they’d never talked about him using his magic to rejuvenate her before—that was the first time the topic ever came up, I think. And the last, of course.

(By the way, there’s totally a conversation about fridging to be had here, but I’d prefer that to be another post. I’m really deep in my feelings right now and I’d rather leave putting on the analytical hat for later in the day.)

Obviously, that entire death scene fucked me up. His face. Her face. The way they told each other their own story like it was a fairy tale (because it was!) Rumple’s half-sobbing “I am afraid”, because he sees the rest of his life without Belle looming before him and he doesn’t know how to do it. He never planned to, in the first place. And then she was gone, and he was crying, and I was crying, and the camera cut away, and you could still hear him sobbing in the background god why...

yes, I will be interspersing this with pictures of my OTP being happy and in love, why do you ask?

And while I’m a bit sad that I’ll never find out what Weaver really wanted, this very clearly sets the stage for Rumple’s motivations and goals this season. Because this episode, beautiful as it was (no pun intended), can’t be the last entry of the Rumbelle story. This was the end of act 2, and I insist on a third act. The stage is all set: Rumple needs to get rid of the dagger so he can be reunited with Belle, which, granted, a bit dark. Considering it means he’s going to die (and won’t that be a fun day…) At the same time… he said it himself: he’s seen the generations pass by and he doesn’t even want to be immortal anymore. He was planning to spend the rest of his life with Belle. Just because he wasn’t physically able to doesn’t invalidate the decision he made. He’ll just have to get there the long way around.

And can I just mention how damn impressed with Rumple’s character development I was? He threw away the dagger! Not in a moment of “do or die” crisis, not as part of an “either, or” ultimatum, no, he was just… done with all that. He didn’t want the Dark One anymore, and nobody had to push him into that realisation. So much for “my power means more to me than you”, huh, past!Rumple? (Also, is it just me or did it feel a little like he waited for Belle to be roughly his physical age to do that? Because it did to me, and I have a lot of emotions about that.)

Everything about that last confrontation between Alice (because at that point she could barely remember ever being Tilly) and Weaver messed me up, by the way. Her mounting desperation, because she didn’t have much time left. His frantic pleading, first because he was worried she’d hurt herself and then that she’d do something she wouldn’t be able to come back from.

And, of course, that last scene between Rumple (welcome back, buddy!) and Tremaine. I’d almost feel sorry for the woman, because she probably wasn’t counting on this happening. Though I would disagree with Rumple’s “there’s nothing you can do to hurt me”--you, my friend, just lied your ass off to help Tilly get out of trouble for shooting you. After waking up. Clearly there’s some people you still care about, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out, honestly.

And there’s so much more. I could just post stills of the entire montage here, really, because it was wonderful and I loved it, even as it cracked open my ribcage and held my still-beating heart up to my eyes so I could see the life go out of it.

…ahem. All right. Deep breath.

Like I said at the top, this episode actually had some important developments that seem like they will be catalysts to kicking the plot into gear. …and as soon as my emotional batteries have recharged, I’m sure I will be very excited about that. In the meantime… please send fluff?
