You know this thing about Alex Claremont-Diaz in RWRB?:

Well not only bc of the “-Diaz” overlap, but also bc it just fits them so well, Buddie and Christopher on 911 make me think of that.

Like I hc that Buck and Eddie get together and then get married, Buck adopts Chris, and they all three change their last names to “Buckley-Diaz.”

(with Buck and Eddie just keeping their OG names on their turnout jackets and Bobby just calling them those out in the field for clarity/efficiency)

And then I’d like to think that they do that same thing. Like in a situation like this:

Something I want to make clear with these answers: I LOVE CHANGING MY MIND. Ennis of Rorikstead! He's so fascinating, but doesn't even have a canonical tag on AO3. I don't think he's unpopular/disliked, just completely overlooked until people do A Night to Remember and then they forget about him again. He's always thinking up new ways to improve the farm, and is sooooo into breeding goats. His conversations around Rorikstead are just him constantly coming up with ideas that are ahead of his time and the people of Rorikstead being doubtful about them. Do you want to see my entire binder of notes written in color-coded glittery gel pen about Ennis???? (it only exists in my heart sorry)

17. I'm getting better at searching through the TES tags on AO3, so I'm discovering there's more of this than I originally thought when I got into fandom, but NPC-centric fic. This ties into my Ennis love, ha ha. We get little snippets and windows into all these characters' lives, and some of the views we get seem to be completely internally inconsistent. I LOOOOOOVE fic that takes those seemingly incompatible bits of lore and characterization and synthesizes them into a coherent whole.

23. Teldrana. I never really shipped Serana with anyone - I enjoyed non-ship fics about her, and my Teldryn Sero OTP will always be with @thana-topsy 's bard DB, Aerik. The shippy stuff that came out after the epic Skyrim Sexyman finals was fun, but didn't "do" it for me. Especially since I find Serana very frustrating in-game (I'll admit, she reminds me A LOT of my disaffected teen-angst phase and oh boy was I insufferable and that doesn't even go to how her base mechanics ruin stealth characters) and then lots of shippy stuff seemed to just...gloss over all the trauma or be nothing BUT trauma. It didn't do it for me. Then I started reading Death of the Dragonborn by @expended-sleeper . I'm not even to the shippy parts yet but I am LIVING for Teldrana in this fic!

2. Sleeping habits- in the summer, Jack slips into a hibernation-like state. If he's in hotter regions of the world, he'll sleep upwards of 18-24 hours straight, but he has significantly more energy in the winter and doesn't need nearly as much sleep. Pitch by comparison is an insomniac. Spirits in my headcanon don't need much sleep to begin with, but Pitch just... doesn't. He'll sleep after expending a large bulk of energy- like after his Nightmare takeover in the movie, when he was exiled again he slept for a significant chunk of time to recover. He tends to use his time when Jack is asleep to be really creepy, watching Jack and feeling him up when the mood takes him. He is a heavy snorer though. Jack thinks it's adorable. In human AUs, Pitch is still an insomniac, and he does snore pretty heavily. He also an aggressive cuddler in both as well. Jack has had to get used to waking up caught up in Pitch's octopus like hold and struggling to get out of it.

6. Double date thoughts and who- Pitch hates the idea but would cave after much grumbling if Jack ever suggested it. Depending on what I'm writing and shipping at the time, it would probably be North and Tooth most likely, both of whom would be wildly uncomfortable and Pitch would do all in his power to keep it that way and revel in their discontent. Jack thinks it's simultaneously hilarious and annoying.

23. Favorite foods- Spirits don't need to eat in my hc, but Jack has a serious sweet tooth as both a spirit and human, so Pitch knows to bribe him with such when Jack is mad for any reason (though that doesn't happen often). Pitch is a big tea snob and Jack will absolutely rearrange his tea cabinet when he's mad at him. He's also a big coffee drinker in human AUs, and this does nothing but make his insomnia worse.

28. Who takes the longest to get ready- they're both pretty quick to get ready, but Pitch has a habit of making sure his clothes are pressed and ironed. If they're not, he'll take the time to do so regardless of how much time he has to arrive to any event. Jack will just throw on whatever is clean.

okay so as always, i haven’t really had time to browse the tags, so sorry if someone already posted about this, but:

what if we get Eddie vs. Buck’s parents?

like since they’re in town for a visit and then Buck gets hurt, what if they try to visit him in the hospital

and Eddie’s there because of course he is, and he gives them a piece of his mind and tells them exactly what he thinks of them

and acts like a guard dog (in the best way lol) and tells them they’re not allowed to visit Buck because they don’t deserve to and wouldn’t have made the trip and visited him, like wouldn’t have come see him if they didn’t happen to already be in town

and that even if Buck’s in a coma, he might hear them talking/sense their presence and know they’re there and it might stress him out and keep him from waking up, so no, they’re not allowed

and they’re “like well who are YOU to tell US we can’t see our SON?” and he’s like “i’m his REAL family”

oh my gosh this is so hard. i have so many. but i think the biggest one is the parent trap. they both like each other but the tension builds up so much that they get into a big fight and stop talking until christopher parent traps them.

on that note, i would also love forced proximity. stuff them in a closet, handcuff them together, trap them in an elevator, you get it.

Scary OTP: Nie Huaisang/Jin Zixun 👀💕

And man, this turned into a mini essay :D

Which one is more fond of scary movies: Nie Huaisang - 1) because they give him an excuse to act more scared than he is and he can whine and cajole his way into being 'comforted', and 2) because to be quite honest, Jin Zixun is 'fond' of very little in the universe.

Which one gets the most excited about Halloween: Nie Huaisang - he LOVES the chance to dress up and act like someone else, preferably with a mask firmly in place (is it any wonder the first fic I wrote of this pair had them both in masks and fucking anonymously?). Jin Zixun would just see it as an event for his uncle to show off the family wealth to the world with a grand party where Zixun can go out of his way to piss someone off (when they're 'together', NHS allows him one or two asshole moves before dragging him off into the Koi Tower gardens, telling his brother he's just doing his part to keep the peace between the sects)

Which one would be more likely to survive the apocalypse: Nie Huaisang: 1) Do you REALLY think Nie Mingjue wouldn't do everything he can to make sure his brother survives the worst case scenarios? Plus he knows how to make the puppy dog eyes that make people give in to him. 2) Jin Zixun will think he's good because his uncle's money has of course paid for the BEST fallout shelter possible, and only the BEST people will be allowed inside, yet at the time of its necessity, Zixun will no doubt get into a fight with someone, likely a 'lower class' person trying to get into the shelter, and Jin Guangshan will decide his nephew is expendable and shut the shelter up before Zixun can get in.

Which one would literally kill for the other: BOTH. We all know from canon just how far NHS would go for someone he loves (the plot would not happen otherwise!). Jin Zixun is the same, in his own way. He's a guard dog for his uncle, doing whatever is asked of him, and is loyal to his cousin. Once someone is considered 'his', even if it's not love but possession of some kind, Zixun won't let any insult go unanswered.

Which one likes to scare or startle the other: Jin Zixun, for sure. Though NHS is rarely actually scared or startled - but he enjoys pretending, it lets Zixun feel he's got one over on him, and NHS has his own ways of getting under his skin.

Which one is more likely to need comforting when they get spooked: The operative word here is NEED - so my answer is Jin Zixun. NHS doesn't need to be comforted, but he LOVES it and will exaggerate his fear in order to get it. Zixun has actually received very little comfort (emotional/affectionate) in his life - you give your family face and suck up whatever you're feeling or else you're doing the Jin name dishonour - and deep inside him is a scared little boy who wishes he could have gone to someone to crawl into their arms when the world was rough. So yeah, Zixun NEEDS comforting more, but he'd never ask for it, would fight even if its given to him voluntarily and without being asked for, and he fights BECAUSE he's terrified he needs it that much.

Which one always puts on a brave face: Jin Zixun - no question! His family is all about saving face, and showing fear would NOT be acceptable in the Jin. NHS, on the other hand, happily whines and cries over every little inconvenience.

Which one would be more dangerous if they suddenly became violent: Nie Huaisang. JZXun we expect to get violent at the drop of a hat - any hat - but NHS is so severely underestimated that he'd hit you before you ever saw him coming (or convinced someone else to hit you, he doesn't like to get his own hands dirty).

Which one would be more likely to commit a crime: BOTH - depending on the crime. If you're looking at smuggling, conspiracy to (get someone else to) commit murder, and cheating in school, Nie Huaisang is your man. If you're looking at war crimes, then it's Jin Zixun.

Which one believes in ghosts: In canon, both - it's part of the universe. In an AU: Jin Zixun. NHS would pretend he does, but wouldn't actually believe unless there's evidence. Zixun, however, is extremely superstitious - he's a man who believes that all of his problems are caused by external things, and is more likely to believe that his bad luck is because of a ghost or a curse than because of his own bad choices.

Which one likes to watch spooky show on television: Nie Huaisang. He enjoys having fun, even if it's being scared. Zixun would act like the shows are just stupid and you'd have to be ridiculous to be afraid of anything on them, but secretly, because of his superstitious nature and belief in the supernatural, he's more likely to take them serious and be genuinely freaked out, hence he avoids them.

Which one would propose the idea of holding a seance: In canon, Jin Zixun, if only because it would be a normal part of his work as a cultivator, and Nie Huaisang wants to stay as far away from work as possible. In an AU, Nie Huaisang, because Zixun would be too freaked out by the supernatural to be on board.

Which one has nightmares more often: Jin Zixun. In canon, even though the Jin entered the Sunshot Campaign later than most of the other sects, they still participated - Zixun would have fought with his cousin, and war is traumatic. Furthermore, he would be haunted by the things he's done to the Wen in the post-war camps - he'd never admit it to a soul, especially not his uncle, but he's a human being, and one doesn't take part in that kind of torture and mistreatment and murder without it affecting them. And both in canon and in an AU, he would have regular nightmares about losing his position in the family - he knows his power and status is directly linked to what Jin Guangshan thinks of him and how useful he is to his uncle, and he has nightmares that the day will come that he's no longer useful, and fears what will happen to him then.

Which one would want to explore a real haunted house: In canon, Jin Zixun - like with the seance, it would be part of his job. In an AU, NEITHER - Zixun believes in the supernatural and would stay the fuck away, and Huaisang would NOT want to go someplace dingy and dirty and potentially get slimed, not in this outfit, do you have ANY idea how much it cost to get a matching fan?

Hi. Can you please give me your opinion on this? Why is it that SNS shippers generally have a much better grip on the story? Not just their ship, but the story, character development, narrative and plot points.

Whereas NH and SS shippers struggle to understand what's canon, what's filler. When they claim that some random novel is canon because Kishi drew the cover, I am like??? How are you sooo stupid?

I get that they prefer their own ship, but their interpretation of the story and characters are just so bizarre and illogical.

And then they have the audacity to argue so righteously? I don't even willingly engage in ship wars, I am usually content with my own ship, my one true otp. Sasuke and Naruto. Because no one can even imagine to touch them, in terms of story and development. Like not a chance in hell. And then, these stupid shippers come along harassing us on SNS platforms, like why are you even here? This ain't your ship! And I don't feel like engaging with them but it's my space, my page, my account and I can't let them spew stupid shit about this story that they obviously don't understand for shit. Then I get angry and then I regret it for getting provoked. But I just can't take them criticising SNS. On my platform. Even if they don't get the entire narrative, fine. But if you are a shipper, at least get your own ship straight! They really don't understand that fillers are not canon.

Anyway, why do you think there is such a huge disparity in comprehension between NH/SS and SNS?

Do you think every NH and SS shippers who participate in the fandom read/watch everything from A to Z???

They want to see/view only what is relevant to their needs and they consume it just like that. They don’t care about other plotlines and what message it conveys and how it gets passed onto the other storylines like a ripple and weave together coherently...

I've never seen any of those shippers write extensively about something that doesn't have anything to do with their ship... Do you think they care about why Nagato turned out that way and wanted to destroy Konoha??

Of course not. Because they have no reason to.

All they care about is that Naruto-kun sprouted 6 tails.... all because of Hinata. **Which is not true anyway** Why do they have to expend their energy into a plotline that doesn't have any ship moments???

Since, these Girls has no relevance to any of these plotlines, all NH/SS is to harp on those irrelevant moments and make it all about themselves.

Whereas when it comes to SNS... That's not the case. Even if you want to selectively read about something, you simply can't... because N and S are written to be tied to every arcs and plotlines in someway. And to get their characterization and motivations right, you need to read everything and in the process you are forced to get a better grip in the story...

So, Selective reading is something SNS shippers can’t afford to do...

Cherry Picking with Intentional Denial.

Most of those shippers are totally behaving like some imbeciles who doesn’t even know how scene Coherence, Continuity and Comprehension works on a broader sense.... No, these are not some media terms or anything. It’s just some basic reading/visual comprehension

For Example, During War Arc...

Sasuke didn’t even bothered to save Sakura when tailed beast bombs were about to blast the alliance...

He didn’t care when Madara made her into a selfie stick.

He left her to die in the Lava pit.

He indeed said that During Mugen Tsukuyomi, he saved her and Kakashi because they were next to Naruto.

But in One moment, he caught her.... And all of a sudden, it’s called ThathuThaku love. Love was overflowing between Sasuke and Sakura because their skin touched...

And the very next moment, he put her in a cruel Genjutsu and said she was Annoying. Even mentioned that there was no reason for him to love her...

Let’s assume If Sasuke was indeed in love with her when he caught her.. Why couldn’t he show an ounce of love before and after that???? There is no Coherence and Continuity in his feelings when it comes to Sakura.. They pick one particular moment which the Author obviously threw as a Bone and then they deny everything that happened before and after...

Do you think any Story Telling works this way??? If they intentionally deny a chunk of their Bad moments, then where will they get this Reading comprehension???

Herd Mentality with no Fact Checking

Most of the shippers don’t even read the Original Source material (which is okay) and what’s worse is that they don’t even finish watching the Anime. What they do is to go to Twitter or Instagram... they watch few posts which has a collection of SS moments and they think that SS is real without even getting inside the Source material.... Like they eat all the canon and non-canon materials that was floating in the Internet and spread misinformation as facts...

Just like that Fake Post regarding How Sasuke was asking tips to Itachi about how to approach the pink haired Girl.

Since they are in Hordes, Misinformation spreads fast and they become their Reality...

Win at All Costs Attitude

Some Shippers really have comprehension... That I agree. They have all-over understanding of the series but when it comes to the Shipping though... They just won’t accept that their Ship is stupid.

Like I could very well be the thickest of the thick friends with any of those SS shippers, if they could accept that, “Yes, SS/NH makes no sense... It is absolutely shitty in canon. I ship them because I like the aesthetics and I want to self-insert myself... Other than that, there is nothing”....

Will they ever accept this???

No.

Because they want to brag and rub it in other people’s face that they became canon. And for getting that bragging rights, they just would do anything... Like even going to the extent of willfully accepting the non-canon material or editing the Panel according to their taste... And spin theory that, “Well, this is why we became canon & Naruto loved Hinata-hime all along... Because Naruto saw the kitten of Hinata in Bikachu Episode”

Positive Validation

Truth just Hurts.

Whereas Lies just taste like Honey. If you have a Honey, why would you want to consume a Bitter Medicine???

This is applicable for any faction of the Fandom... Not only in Shipping fandom. But I see this most in the Shipping....

Like for example, They clearly know the truth... Their Negatives and Positives about their ships and they are very well aware that inside Canon, they have Nil materials to support their claim. These Novels and Fillers just give them what they want all along, a positive validation that their ship makes sense and they conveniently ignore the Truth... That’s why SS/NH shippers blogs were full of Novel quotes and Movie scenes because those are the only things that validate their ship... And hence they resort to their Warped reality instead of the Canon materials.
