I laughed so hard when Robin tried to kill Nottingham in Storybrooke
Like just the way it was shot, switching back and forth between some guy drinking his coffee, strolling along the sidewalk, oblivious to someone chasing him across the street with a bow an arrow

I thought I had let go of my gripes with the Hades arc but then a fic mentioned it
It dragged on for way too long. Especially since even after they all escaped the Underworld, Hades came with them and kept stirring shit.
I didn't hate Hades, not on rewatch, he had potential, but he just overstayed his welcome, I got so done with him. Similar to how i was feeling about Rumple.
I don't hate Hook either. But I only have so much love for him. Not enough to literally go to hell and back for him. So the fact that the whole reason we all went to the Underworld was to save him, it did not feel worth it.
And they kept dangling this idea that they'd fail in my face, like someone would be like "well if we escape this way someone would have to stay behind" and hook would say "I'll stay since i was supposed to die anyway". Or like using Orpheus and Eurydice as proof you can't take someone out of the Underworld who's supposed to be there.
I think that ending, of everyone leaving the Underworld except Hook could've really interesting. You can still have them talking to other dead characters and helping them move on so it wouldn't all be for nothing. In a series where good always wins, that could be really subversive. The theme of hope could be explored in a different way, where we get into grief, and how to move on.
I think the writers sort of tried to do this with Robin instead, with mixed results. In my ideal OUAT meta turned fanfiction, Robin wouldn't have died, at least not here, because Hades would still be in the Underworld minding his own business, because like I said, his involvement dragged on too long for me.
I mean you could kill off both, i just think it'd be a little excessive. And you risk one death overshadowing another, which if you're going to have two main love interests die really tragic and final deaths around the same time, I'd want them to be given equal weight. And I don't trust the OUAT writers to have been able to do that. I don't think they'd want to kill both off, which is fine by me. Truly the best scenario would be this season never happening in the first place.

I'm genuinely tweaking cuz why is it so hard to find a good ouat fic??? They're either peter pan/felix fics or just really bad ones that were made in like 2013. The struggle is real 😫

I was rewatching pieces of ouat, and that show is wild. Like, not in the most messed up family tree kind of wild, or curse on Hook's lips kind of wild.
What was wild to me is the first time Robin Hood and Regina ever met in Storybrooke. This was their first meeting, Robin was completely aware of who Regina was, and the atrocities she had committed, and his first instinct was to flirt.
Robin (basically): Yes, I know she's a war criminal responsible for the death of thousands including my own wife, but she's just so darn pretty.
Robin Hood: *talking to Regina* You made mistakes.
Me: Well that's one way to put it.
