i've been here since 2013 or 2014 (it's been so long that i can't even remember) this is the first time i'm a little nervous this site will fall apart 🥹

Today's cardio:

Take two gerbils and put them in their travel carrier. Fortunately, they're very good-natured about being picked up.

Take their travel carrier and put it in the bathtub .. so I don't have to listen to their scritching on the plastic if they get impatient to be let out. (Typically about three minutes after confinement.) The sound has a remarkably similar effect as metal scraping along metal to me. The bathtub because if they somehow escape the carrier, they're not going far.

Back to the dining room and take out about 25L of fluff from the condo and dump it into a box on the ground. Most of it makes it inside.

Remove all toys / tools / hidey / wheel for cleaning.

Shake the 15lb cage to get rid of 98% of the remaining fluff. Then brush out the rest with a paper towel.

Clean down the wires/shelves/ramps with dawn/water solution. (They complain about that scent the least.)

Go clean the toys / tools / hidey / wheel and re-oil the wheel with olive oil.

Put about 20L of fluff back into the condo, re-add the toys / tools / hidey / wheel.

Put towel over top so they feel safer on the top floor.

Clean water bottle and food bowl, refill food bowl, add pumpkin seed bribes to the mix.

Release the kraken, er, release John and Smith back into their nice clean condo.

Two gerbils declare they're running away and they're leaving a one-star yelp review after talking to my manager.. and.. Oh, wait.. are those pumpkin seeds? Well, maybe later then. Dump all the fluff into a garbage bag, much bending and brushing up the bits that didn't make it to the box for easy transfer. Easy, of course, is a relative term.

Turn on the kitchen extractor fan and start the floor washing with a bleach solution. Surprisingly, they don't care about the stench of this, it bothers ME far far more. Do I post this as an excuse to support my favourite hellsite via a Blaze? Yes. Absolutely.

New fun tumblr android update.

Anytime you reblog anything (doesn't matter if it has any pictures or video, text only posts also give you this popup). this pops up at the bottoms of the app.

If you make a new post it also pops up but has a lil green bar that fills up as any pictures or videos you have in the post get uploaded. When the bar is filled the popup goes away and the post gets posted.

For reblogs it doesn't go away. Every reblog adds another one on top. Making the space where you can see posts smaller with each reblog. Unless you click that lil arrow to minimize it or close the app.

15 reblogs fills the entire screen. What a useful update!

As you can see, the myth just started to grow, characters and ships and tropes being added one after the other, almost bizzarely without contradiction, until there was enough of shape to the whole thing for people to start posting fanfic about it on AO3. I also just found out about the Goncharov Game Jam.

It appears this opened a day after after the meme took off.

Goncharov was first entered into Wikipedia between Day 4 and 5 (attempts to vandalise it with fake info don't count, incidentally – please knock that shit off) under List of Internet Phenomena. This was then expanded into its own Wikipedia page at the end of Day 5 because, according to the talk history: "the topic now meets the notability threshold for its own artice due to significant coverage in The New York Times and other sources cited." We're on Wikipedia, people!

And then we made The Guardian half a day later. So while the meme is definitely dying down to embers by now, it still stays winning.
