Do you have any more headcanons about Eska and/or Desna? I was disappointed we didn't get anything more substantial with them.

I do love Desna and Eska content ^-^ have some headcanons!

Desna got hit in the face in a way that noticeably chipped one of his teeth, so Eska told him to help her chip her tooth the same way so they could match. Unalaq caught them before any damage was done and Eska still bites into hard foods with that tooth so it can match Desna's

Eska is actually much handier with a spear than her brother, as well as more sensitive to changes in the ice. Desna, on the other hand has the neatest, steadiest, and sturdiest stitches of anyone in their family and an incredible singing voice. Both are surprisingly skilled swimmers and have read all the classics

They are both members of the latest wave of the Imaģuq Movement, a post-war spiritual and cultural revival in the Water Tribes and among the Water Tribe diaspora with emphasis on reincarnation and the fleeting nature of the physical. He has found it a bit odd that neither seems to care about their twin's involvement with him, but he won't question fate's generosity. He has been asked about anectdotes and circumstances that suggest an agfair by many an interviewer, but he always insists a gentleman never tells.

In the week 2 of the course, me and my classmates enjoyed an interesting visit to the Melbourne Art Book Fair at the NGV. I realized that it’s really important to consult and refer about the majors that we are looking for.This is my first time experiencing an exhibition about art and design books, such a great feeling! There are a lot of stalls in this place, each of them representing a specific area in the design world such as: architecture, photagraphy, interior, graphic,etc (shown in photo). Specifically, almost of these stuff were made by students in RMIT, not only books but they also created the tote bag, badges, etc. We hung around in this place, read and found out some engaging books which were helpful for us in our pathway. I was so inspired and admired by their creative and unique ideas which I believed that are significant perspectives in terms of successful design work. Furthermore, the way they ultilise their skills, develop their mind in art effectively brings me good insights on this fantastic journal. These new insights led me to the deeper understanding that the art world is diverse and unlimited creation, so we should open our mind to catch up on some new and creative initiatives from other artists which express our respect and also gain lessons for ourselves. This journal was really useful so that I can apply in my studies in the near future.

In photagraphy we started to learn to use 35 mm manual film cameras. With the cameras our goal was to take 3 photos of the same subject each with different exposures. After this we learned how to transfer our film into a tank and the process to develop it so that our film was no longer light sensitive and our photos were visible. We then took our newly visible film and cut it up and put it in a organizer sheet which we then used to print our test strip and contact sheet in the dark room.

Personal Art History

Growing up I was never really an artistic or imaginative child. I have always had bad handwriting and still cannot draw a straight line nor an evenly curved line. I was a kid who loved to be outside and running around and playing games like hide and seek or tag, basically anything that was an established game. However, I was always very jealous of anyone who was creative and could create anything from the bare minimum materials. However, as I have gotten older, I have become more accepting of the fact that I may not be able to create things that are non-realistic so I have taken up photography in the last few years as well as painting a bit (no paintings pictured as I tend to forget to take pictures of them). My family has always been supportive of my creativity in any manner and since I have taken up photography, they love to volunteer me for anytimes someone wants photos taken and I have been designated as our vacation photographer (meaning I always get to look like a tourist with a camera around my neck…). One of my fears when creating art (specifically painting) is that people are not going to know what it is supposed to be since I tend to paint real objects. However, my fears with photography are that I will not capture a good shot at a location or that when I edit a picture, I will make it look worse than the raw photo. Therefore, when I am taking photos, I tend to take over 300 per hour and when I edit, I look at the before and after after each adjustment. I try not to let anything keep me from creating art as I like to use it as a mental escape when I feel overwhelmed by life. I also enjoy following photographers on instagram so I can frequently see their art and when I travel I like to go into art galleries when I pass them. I apologize for such a long post but art is something I believe should never be taken away and everyone should be encouraged to do, no matter what form they choose.

This week in photagraphy we finished up learning to make photograms and printing them in the dark room. We then began to make our own cameras using boxes. We made sure the box was lightproof before placing photo paper inside to capture an image using photo paper. This was pretty difficult because my box had a lot of small gaps that allowed light to get in. Once captured the image we returned to the dark room to process our results.

In photagraphy we started to make prints with our box cameras. We also used an app called Snapseed on our phones to invert our pictures and make the writing so that it appeared the correct way.
