He's the kind of guy who says he'd want someone low maintenance, who'd let him put work first, but then you meet his friend group and realize he's full of shit and does need the balance of someone clingy, loud, and high strung. It's comforting to him, familiar.

He could plan a date if you wanted him too, and it'd be classic and romantic and expensive with every little detail and moment planned out, but all of it would be pure "what the internet said a good date would be". It'd be better to tell him what you want to do as a starting off point, and he'd go from there

Gifts are a lot like his date planning as well, he'll get you anything you ask for but if you don't tell him directly what you want, you're getting whatever the top google results for Good Gift for Romantic Partner is. He won't get you something you'd hate or wouldn't use of course, but he figures if you wanted something specific you'd tell him.

All of this changes of course when he's feeling petty. One of the other hosts call him out for being so passive in his relationship? He'll change his tune, get you something perfect you didn't even know you needed until right then, or plan a date to somewhere you'd always wanted to go but never actually considered. He knows you better than anyone else, even yourself, and he can prove it when provoked.

You're probably the only person who could convince him to put down a project before 2am, or even better the only one who could wake him up before noon on a day off and survive the encounter without a verbal lashing. Though you probably still can't actually get him out of bed without good reason.

If he was ever mean to you in the morning he would probably be rather mortified, and would spend the day trying to make it up to you, subtlety of course. Please don't take anything he says before he's fully awake to heart.

Today was a special day, it was the day that the students from Lobelia and Ouran Academy were meeting up for an event with both schools. The event was in the beautiful garden of Ouran Academy and in charge of the entertainment, was none other than the Host Club and oh boy were they handsome! Two of them caught your eye, the blonde they call "The Prince" who seems to be the club leader and the one with black hair and glasses.

“Why hello there pretty lady~", the blonde said approaching your seat, "Let me introduce you to the Ouran Highschool Host Club! I'm Tamaki the president of the club, here is Kyoya our vice-president, then there are the twins Kaoru and Hikaru, Honey, Mori and our new member Haruhi!"

"We hope you'll enjoy your stay at Ouran Academy!", they all said in unison"

"Thank you so much!", you said happily smiling at them.

So Tamaki and Kyoya huh?

You want to know more about them, so you decide that you'll go and talk to them during the reception later today. That shouldn't be too hard right?

Wrong.

When the time of the reception arrives almost every girl of your school and even their school are all over them. How are you gonna talk to Tamaki and Kyoya if you can't even get near them! Maybe you should wait until later? But, even if you were to talk to them, would they even be interested in you? They see a lot of girls on a daily basis, so why would you be any different than them? You just continue to try and enjoy your evening drinking the punch in your one little space.

Suddenly, you feel a light tap on your shoulder. You turn around and see Tamaki with a wide smile on his face.

Okay, maybe he did try to find you for 20 minutes. What you didn't know is that earlier your sweet and warm smile caught his eye and he wanted to talk to you as well.

"You seem pretty lonely my dear and we can't let a pretty lady like you all alone like that.", you blush at his words, "Care to join me for a walk in the garden?", he proposes his hand, which you gladly take and stroll towards the big garden of the academy.

The thing is, on your way a certain black-haired male saw you both going toward the flowery garden. Did I forget to mention your lovely aura also caught the eye of the vice-president?

He watched you hold the blond's hand with your cheeks tinted a rosy shade and smiling. He wouldn't say he was jealous, but you can be sure he will find a way to make you fall for him. He isn't sure if Tamaki is just doing his host job or if he had real feelings for you, so he'll have to add that factor to his plan.

Time skip:

A few more events have been happening ever since and at each of them, you spent time with both guys still not knowing which one will you fall for. They are both sweet and love to be with you, listen to you and make you feel happy.

Kyoya just has brought you back to the main place of the event and gives you a light kiss on the hand. You both say your goodbyes and Tamaki gets up to go talk to his friend.

"Well well, I didn't think you would give a kiss on the hand of a client one day, they must have paid you real good for you to do that"

"Pay? Oh no, I just think I start to really like them, more than as a client I mean."

Did he heard that right? Does Kyoya has feelings for someone? And that someone is you?!

"Sorry, but are you sure you really have feelings for her? I mean maybe it's just happiness you know?", he tries to make him believe it's not really romantic feelings, but he should have known his plan would be discovered right away.

"Are trying to make me think I don't like her?"

"Do you like her too?!", they said simultaneously.

Oh, this is going to be quite the adventure.

"Don't mind my brother, he's such a downer sometimes!" I lean over Kyoya's shoulder, shooting a smile at Haruhi, who was looking mildly terrified sitting across from him.

"Oh, Kyoya-senpai, you didn't tell us (Y/N) would be here today!" One of Tamaki's clients fawned from my right, and I waved at her.

"I tend to just show up here whenever I please, but it is nice to see you lovely ladies!" A few of the girls swoon, and I turn my attention back to Haruhi, resting my arms on Kyoya's head.

"Anyways, I apologize for him, need any help with anything today? I can bring tea and snacks around!" She tilts her head slightly before nodding, now smiling again.

"That would be great, thank you!" Kyoya abruptly stands, knocking me back a few steps before turning to glare at me over his glasses.

"Okay, okay, I'm going!" I laugh nervously, quickly heading in the opposite direction of my now very scary older brother.

"Alright, ladies! What kind of tea can I get for you today? That goes for you too, twins." In the midst of escaping from Kyoya's murderous glare, I found an apron and a notepad, deciding to use them in an attempt to copy a commoner's 'diner', as they call them!

"Hmm... Earl grey with a splash of milk for me!" A girl with short blonde hair requested, and I scribble it down. The other three girls gave me their requests as well before properly conversing.

"So, why hasn't Tamaki-senpai asked you to be a host yet, (Y/N)? You'd be perfect! A lot of the girls here already really like you!" A girl with long dark hair in a braid asks, and the twins lean over in their seats.

"Yeah, I wonder!" Karou hums, looking over at his twin, who's mirroring the position, both of them looking utterly devious. That was never a good sign.

"I don't even want to know what you two are scheming, but I be back with your tea in just a few minutes, ladies!" Great, now I'm avoiding my brother AND my closest friends. Oh well.

"Oh, Ladies! What if we told you that Kyoya's younger sibling, (Y/N), was going to be a host as of next week?" Karou announced, standing on a table beside Hikaru.

"And that all you had to do was ask Tamaki and Kyoya?" They were both smiling evily, and I looked over to see multiple of the girls present looking over at my brother and Tamaki.

"Don't bother, my dears! They shall be made a host! You can start scheduling a date with them either online or with Kyoya at any point!" Tamaki said, loud enough to be heard throughout the room, and a decent chunk of girls started chattering excitedly.

"There!" Karou exclaimed, an arm around my shoulder as he leaned against me.

"Can't say we never did anything for you!" Hikaru exclaimed, also leaning against me.

"You two are sooooo lucky I enjoy you're company, or I'd be telling Haruhi that you like her, Hikaru, and I would be finding out whoever you like, Karou." I send them both a smile before heading off to sit in the corner with Haruhi.

"Should we tell them?" Hikaru mused, and Karou shook his head rapidly.

"We are absolutely NOT telling them that I like them, that is NOT how today is going to go!" There was a level of panic in his voice that made Hikaru double over in laughter.

"Have a good evening, ladies!" I wave goodbye to the girls who'd been sitting with me, as the host club was shutting down for the night. It had been a week, and I will NEVER judge Kyoya for not enjoying mornings again. This was ten times more difficult then it first seemed.

"You're doing good so far, (Y/N)." Kyoya mentioned in passing as he went to escort some ladies out, and I smiled at him before the twins sat down on either side of me. That was not a good sign.

"Is it just me, or do Karou and (Y/N) like eachother?" Tamaki whispered to Haruhi, and she nodded, humming slightly.

"They definitely do, I've heard it from both of them. They're both just awkward and oblivious to eachother." Tamaki was thinking now, which was never a good sign of anything.

"Do we tell them to help them out? Otherwise this is never going to end, and Kyoya will catch on to them eventually." Haruhi shrugs, grabbing her things and getting ready to leave.

"You can do what you want, senpai, but I'm not going to get involved in this." She smiled at him, and then bid her goodbyes to the rest.

Tamaki did what he did best: get involved.

"TAMAKI, IF YOU DON'T UNLOCK THIS ROOM RIGHT NOW I WILL BE STEALING ALL YOUR BONES!" I yelled, banging on the door to one of the classrooms.

"Nope! You and Karou can stay in there until you can admit you like eachother, or until the end of club hours! Whichever comes last!" Tamaki and Hikaru laugh, and I can hear their footsteps as they walk away from the classroom.

I turn, walking towards one of the windows, but Karou grabs my arm to stop me.

"Don't you even try, we're on the third floor, remember? Plus, we've just got to sit in here for three hours, it's not too bad." His voice calms me down, and I sigh, sitting down at a table.

"You're right, you're right. I'm sorry, Karou, this was not how I expected things to go today." He hums slightly, but sits across from me.

"It's as much your fault as it is mine, so there's no need to apologize. Its my fault Hikaru helped plan it." He shrugs, and I tilt my head.

"What do you mean?" He freezes, blinking a few times before trying to respond.

"Uh.... well.... you know what, what's the worst that could happen. I like you, okay!" His voice ups an octave at the end, and his eyes squeeze shut.

"I'm gonna kill Tamaki. I wanted to say it first!" I groan in frustration, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Wait, what?" He opens his eyes again, searching mine for any clue as to what I meant. He doesn't seem to find it.

"I like you too, dummy. I thought it was obvious!" He laughs, shaking his head.

"Apparently it was! To everyone but me!" The two of us laugh, and I take a moment to look at him, at the huge smile on his face.

"I'm glad to know it now at least." I laugh a bit, smiling back at him.

"Me too, Karou, me too."

"Uh.... well.... you know what, what's the worst that could happen. I like you, okay!"

Tamaki locks eyes with Hikaru, and both smile as they wait for a response.

"I'm gonna kill Tamaki. I wanted to say it first!"

Just as they have a mini celebration, Haruhi walks up to them, looking probably the most pissed they've probably ever seen her.

"What are you two doing?" They both freeze, trying to act nonchalant (obviously they fail).

"Kyoya-senpai is wondering where Karou and (Y/N) are, along with you two. I'm guessing you two know where they are?" Hikaru points at the closed doors behind them, and Haruhi sighs.

"They confessed to eachother though! Can't they have some alone time?" Tamki stands in front of Haruhi to block her from the doors, and Haruhi pauses.

"Hm... I'll tell Kyoya that I couldn't find anyone. But let them out soon. Kyoya will be pissed if he finds you." She smiles, and then walks back off in the direction of music room 3.

"We should probably let them out now, or Kyoya will actually kill us." Hikaru leans up against the door, and Tamaki nods.

"But 10 more minutes couldn't hurt."

"When do you think we should tell my brother?" I whisper to Karou, and he shrugs.

"How much trouble do you think we'd get in? It'd ruin my performance with Hikaru, and it would ruin your image as the younger sibling type." I tilt my head slightly before nodding.

"That's true... but what's the worst that could happen? Its not like we can't just pretend we're not dating during club hours." Just as I say that, Kyoya walks by and gives me a very pointed glare.

"He already knows, doesn't he?" Karou sighs, leaning against the wall behind him. I laugh a bit and nod.

"Oh, definitely. We can't hide anything from him."

I quickly kissed Karou on the cheek before we walked in to the music room, only to run directly into Kyoya.

"Oh, sorry! Didn't see ya there!" I laughed nervously and tried to sneak past him, but he put his hand on my shoulder.

he's got like. no ler bones in his body but only because he's so scared of getting tickled back that he just avoids it LOL

hes kind of funny because when he does tickle someone else like Kyoya he runs away almost immediately afterward

URGH Kyoya is so hard for me to make headcanons for HELP HES SO GOOFY

okay he's definitely tickly. probably on his ribs, hips, and his back

HIS BACK IS A FUNNY SPOT bc people can just swipe one finger down his back and he'll do like a full body shudder and then give them an evil glare

he's probably tickled the least out of everyone in the host club and he is NOT USED TO IT whenever he is tickled because he's so out of practice being tickled lol

he's not super ticklish either but when you catch him by surprise he's more reactive to tickling

he doesn't normally engage in tickling because he's just sooooo serious LOL but when there's a good moment he'll definitely poke people or give them a small tickle

i feel like hes more of a ler but in general he just ignores whatevers going on unless he has to step in and break people up because the tickling is getting too intense

he has gotten tickled during one of those break ups before (it was Tamaki and the twins OF COURSE) and then both the twins tried to gang up on him. lol

they regretted it later! Kyoya may not tickle people often but when he does he should be feared

Hikaru -

okay i think it's so funny bc you'd think Kaoru is the more ticklish twin but UR WRONG it's Hikaru

he's like. stupid ticklish. ALMOST AS MUCH AS TAMAKI but he's better at hiding it because he's not as dramatic when he gets tickled

like he'll jump but he tries to hide his reactions so sometimes it takes a bit to make him even giggle

he's really ticklish on his hips and sides which are super easy to get too hehe just grab him by the hips and SQUEEZE

he's much more of a ler especially when he's tickling someone with his brother but if anyone was able to get him bad he would never get to live it down

the only person who's come close to tickling him really good aside from his brother is Haruhi and that's just because she's sick of their nonsense LOL

she also makes a point to tell the twins apart by where they're ticklish so she uses tickling to her advantage all the time

like she can easily tell them apart without tickling them but she thinks its funny because they are both so tickly

Kaoru -

he's such a goofball sorry i actually really loved Kaoru so much when i watched this show LOL

he's not as ticklish as Hikaru and he's tickly in other spots but he doesn't try to hide his reactions as much as Hikaru so people often assume that Kaoru is the more ticklish twin

He's very giggly and tickling him under his arms or his ribs especially get him really good

he's actually kind of silly because he will almost always be the one to initiate tickle fights with the other hosts or his brother, and then Hikaru normally joins in

I think Kaoru doesn't mind tickling others or being tickled, he's like... very in the middle on his preference LOL it just depends on his mood at the time

he and Hikaru will normally switch off on like. who's holding and who's tickling when they're ganging up on someone but Kaoru actually prefers to do the tickling most of the time

his argument is that Hikaru is too ticklish to be good at tickling but he never tells anyone else that because he knows Hikaru is a lil embarrassed about how ticklish he is lol

I'm sorry, but I don't buy the idea that Kyoya hated or was jealous of Haruhi because he has never shown any kind of animosity towards Haruhi. Why would he be jealous of Haruhi when TamaKyo is not even canon? Honestly, this feels like a reach to justify this ship. There's more to Kyoya as a character than being shipped with another character and claiming that Kyoya was jealous or hated Haruhi because of Tamaki (when he's not even canonically in love with Tamaki) kinda reduces him as a character

oh your abosulety right theres more to kyoya character then shipping!

I also want to put a disclaimer that im not even like, an active TamaKyo shipper (i was a hikaru and haruhi girlie u_u)

however even if a ship isn't a canon that doesn't mean the text isn't there, its already a series that pokes fun of BL is it really that much of a stretch to come out of the story thinking , Kyoya was in love with Tamaki?

Kyoya and Haruhi have such a sweet relationship that develops over the series which is why epsiode 8 is just SO weird because

Kyoya and Haruhi scenes are subtle and quiet , when they're the focus characters its very causal , so episodes 8 in contrast comes off as odd yknow?

so what would cause Kyoya to act so out of character?

we never get to see what tamaki and kyoya talk about after they leave the dinner table

now depending on weather our not Kyoya himself is aware that he is gay there could be 2 possible interpretation for me but i'll just focus on one for now

kyoya is out and see's his best friend who he is in love live fall for this girl so badly that he worries so sos o badly about her, i think someone as cautious as kyoya would wanna yknow, make sure this girl isn't using him or is gonna break is heart ,

it might not even be out of jealousy it could also be that haruhi challenges his perception of gender roles because from what we've seen from his past uh

his view on women wasn't great? and his view on gender roles feels like one born out of the cynicism vs tamaki who is also has sexist view but its one born out of ignorance.

SO then here come haruhi with her ngc, low income autism swag, like she just can't be real, but then she is and it stops kyoya dead in his tracks that he goes off and broad

tldr : Haruhi challenges Kyoya view both on the world and himself also he is gay for his best friend
