Tonight has been a living horror story. I am a wreck....sights and sounds I can not escape and a shattered heart. It happened so fast.....he did it just to do it....moved from one to the other faster than I could move to him.....I got to him as he got to Gypsy....I could not save her from devastating injuries but stopped him from killing our last two girls. My grandson is hurting so bad.....we raised them from 3 days old....and he loves them all so much. Today is the birthday of my very best friend in the world. We met the first day of college, many many moons ago, but didn't become close until our second semester.

She was always so unabashedly herself - weird as hell, passionate, hilarious, WEIRD AS HELL - and just by being herself she taught me that it was okay to be myself. To be quirky and passionate and hilarious and WEIRD AS HELL.

At her wedding I stood up and I said that the way she loved me, and the way she taught me to love, was the best gift of my life (and the only thing that prepared me to love my wife properly when I later met her).

She is the best.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that your friendships, or your relationship with your close friends, are less meaningful or less powerful or less transformative than romantic ones. Cause that's crap.
