Ok, so heads up everyone.
I’m Asexual, and Bi-? Romantic.
But I am also completely oblivious most of the time. But when I do pick up on something I tend to question reality itself. And I’m doing so unleash the cosmic horrors I’ve trapped in the recesses of my mind. Stuff that even the Milk cooler doesn’t draw out.
All that to say I think a class mate is flirting with me and I don’t know how to handle it so I’m going to pretend he isn’t.
Sorry Gar!

I havnt posted for awhile because Ive been busy with work and sports.
I havnt really had a day of just fun for awhile but hopefully that changes soon.
In any case I managed to get into fire fighting 1&2 for this coming school year! And I got to go to my first structure fire as a Jr firefighter last night.
I missed getting my EMT liscence by a few points so I’m going to review with Mr.W before I retake it. I’m sure I’ll get it next time.
In the mean time, sorry about leaving you all hanging!
Here’s a picture of my cat to make up for it

Mr W: If an EMT ever ties your hands together and straddles you, RUN
Made in reference about this picture from the textbook, and a joke made by A and L when A attempted it.
[Picture of a female EMT doing a “fireman drag”, but tiring a patients hands together and looping them over her head before bear crawling forward to drag them]

Story time(pt2?)
TW: Fake wound/SFX, mention of bugs, mention of panic attacks, treatment of wounds, bug related wounds, environmental emergencies.
Before you look at the image be warned it’s not super realistic but it’s not exactly pretty.
I wouldn’t consider myself a very good actor, but I did take theater for 3 semesters and also have a some very... vivid memories of a couple panic attacks.
So when a classmate of mine L did some SFX on my arm and we decide it looked like a big had burst out of my arm that became the scene for our practice scenario that afternoon.
So I’m sitting there with this fake wound and trying to decide how best to make it seem like I’m panicking without actually inducing myself to panic.
When the other “crew” lead by my Lt. show up they do a masterful job of trying to calm me down and distracting me from my injury. They manage to package me up and get me ready for transport pretty quickly and even made sure to double check for scene safety since we “lost” the bug.
On the flip side when I stopped “panicking” because the scene was over, our teacher and a few on the crew treating me said I did a good job and that for a second they were scared I was actually panicking.
Over all it was a super fun scene to do and I really enjoyed it, I guess retaining bad memories has a use for something huh?
Oh here’s a picture of what the fake wound looked like.

Story time *jazz hands*
So I’ve joined up as a Jr fire fighter with my local station, yesterday I got to do some extrication training with the jaws of life in conjunction with the station and my EMT teachers fire fighting class.
Now my body is dead
For context, on Thursday I was on the run getting paper work and going to track practice, then I decided to go to the horse barn with my best friend to get some practice in because she signed me up for a show despite me not really knowing how to ride,
Unfortunately because I forgot to get my brother we were on a time crunch and decided to ride bareback and work on my balance .
Misty my friends horse is a bit of a brat, so Liv my friend had brought along a new bit that was “meaner” (hell if I know why but Misty wasn’t a fan.), normally Misty takes a lot of work to stop if your not careful but that day she was stopping on a dime because of this new bit.
So I end up in the sand of the ring four (?) times, once because I accidentally cantered and went flying, once because I stopped to fast and went flying, another time because I just can’t stay on a horse apparently and went flying and the last time I finally got up to a canter and then lost my balance, and you guessed it,
I went flying.
So by Friday I was already wicked sore, and realized I started work that day. This being my first job ever, and working as a blocker for a local market.
One 5 hour shift later and I felt like I managed to bog everyone down and also my feet felt like they were going to fall off.
That brings us to yesterday, during which I got up at 6 in the morning to go home from my grandparents house (I stayed there because it’s closer to my work) and go to the station to put on my heavy fire fighting gear climb in a truck and go to the junk yard to spend almost five hours moving heavy equipment and trying not to hurt myself or others before rushing home to make myself semi presentable and go to work for another five hours.
Although the second day was less brutal as the guy training me was a lot more confident and actually conversed instead of standing by awkwardly...
In any case today I have to help some ladies with there shopping at 11 and then go in for another shift.
I know it must sound like I’m just complaining about work but please remember, this is my first job, I forgot my adhd meds for two of the days described and had a terrible time paying attention, and My Lyme Disease means I have a healing rage of about 50-75% of what it should be.
Basically what takes most people my age a day to heal from takes me two to three days if I’m resting.
On the bright side the blocking is great practice for lifting/moving things at an awkward angle for EMT so... that’s cool I guess?

So... we finally got our training unit ambulance in service.
But we don’t have the keys to the outside compartments so we have to move everything inside the back of the ambulance before we pack up for the day and go home. Our teacher can lock the back of the ambulance.
He didn’t tell use he couldn’t unlock the back.
He apparently only had the keys to the cab of the vehicle, but luckily there’s a small window into the back of the ambulance from the cab just above the center armrest.
The window is about a foot tall and two feet ish across. Plenty of space for me to squeeze through and unlock the back. But small enough for me to be unsure if I’ll actually make it through or not.
So I scrambled through and unlock the side door into the back part of the ambulance only to then realize I cut open my thumb well climbing through the little window.
My teacher then said “oh Let’s get a bandaid for that.” Relooks the door I just opened and shut it. Is startled at it with the most defeated look before sheepishly apologizing to me.
I ended up going through the window again, but we did find a better way to open the side door so that’s good at least. And only what will probably be a minor scar on my hand to pay.

So when you see an EMT class looking confused and like they don’t know what they are doing well one of them lays on the ground under a bike and a guy wear beer googles well One person does CPR on a dummy like their life depends on it
Keep driving. We aren’t professionals, if you crash here you may be subject to be today’s lesson.

So, Because of the ADHD ( probably?) I have a lot of random knowledge about a lot of stuff
Added to that my families... bad luck/accident proneness and you get a lot of random knowledge about how to break/damage a lot of things
(particularly things on the human body)
This all means that apparently the following are not common knowledge?:
It only takes about 8-10 pounds of pressure to rip and eat off
10 or less pounds (if hit correctly) to break a nose and possibly kill someone (if hit correctly)
The when/ if the top three vertebrae of the neck are broken or fractured this is known as a “hanged mans fracture” because when your hanging someone ideally those are the ones that break and kill them (almost) instantly.
You can’t hold a human head in one hand - like a full human head- Well they only weight about 7-10 pounds, because of how they are shaped it will just roll out of your hand. (I’m sure there’s exceptions to this rule.)
You can in fact break you back and not be paralyzed. The trick is you have to make sure not to break your spinal cord. If you break the spine ( the bones protecting the large nerve) then there’s a fair chance of you being able to recover.
(Both my dad and my step dad have broken their backs and maintain motor functions... actually mentioning that my dads broken him back a good three or four times in multiple places each... he really shouldn’t be walking at this point.)
Humans are some of the most durable and breakable things on this planet. And it never stops amazing me how people can fall down two flights of stairs and be find then stub there toe and be left in tears.
Fascinating.

Sooo….
I e almost officially completed my EMT course.
I’m more than a little sad about this as I really love my class and I wish I got to spend more time with them. But soon I get to take my test to get my EMT liscence. Then it’s just a few short months until I can start applying to work part time at a hospital or dispatch. Granted I’d only be able to work half or partial shifts due to still being a student. But hopefully they at least consider me for week end work. And I’m the summer.
Plus next year I got into Fire fighting 1&2 so I’ll be qualified to work on a fire department! What fun.

The other day well in class my Lt. was acting as our patient, they were being as uncooperative as possible as per their role in the scene and I was going through some medical history questions, asking if there was a history of heart problems in “his” family.
Lt.:No- well my father died of a heart attack last year but that doesn’t matter, I know what a heart attack feels like!
Me: Are you on any heart medication?
Lt.: No, I’m on some stupid prescription my doctor gave me. Some sorta blood thinner I think. Why the hell do you need to know that? What are you even doing here?
Me: *without thought and much louder then intended* sir, please we’re just trying to insure you don’t end up like your father. Will you please just anwser a few more questions then we can call control and get you the paper work so we can leave?
Suffixe to say that is not something you should say EVER to any patient under any circumstances

I found out something HORROR INDUCING a few mornings ago
Our teacher drinks his skim milk with ice?
Which granted whatever his choice but I’ve just
I can’t comprehend this? Like skim milk is basically water already and you put ice in it?
Oh also! He puts skim milk and ice in his chocolate milk?
So if you were wondering if it’s just the students who are monsters in that class room the answers is no. Our teacher also qualifies.
