Dahomey (2024) dir. Mati Diop
Mati Diop (Atlantics) just won the Golden Bear at Berlin and shouted “I stand with Palestine!” as she accepted her award. Her film deals with the returning of plundered royal treasures from the African Kingdom of Dahomey from Paris to the present day Republic of Benin.

What is your interest with PussDeath?
? is this question a translation error? but i can tell you the weird start on me shipping them. funnily enough, i don't jump on the ship right away because i hadn't figure it out how their dynamic is yet at that time (no because for the love of god and thousands burning suns i CANNOT do the "oh this one is automatically the guy/girl in the relationship right away, that's BORING to me, sorry ,and i think that doesn't do justice to their character, to reduce them to just that when they could be so much more?), and death x puss x kitty is the one that actually help with that! i even consider shipping him with kitty first! (gasp, blaphsemy i know! but i saw a fun potential there, but if you only see the guy/girl again of course it wont make sense, but if you're willing to see past that, you can see the possibilities) and then i noticed their parallels and things snowballs from there

Okay, after rewatching Phineas and Ferb Across the Second Dimension, which came out in 2011, I need to know if the first Avengers movie- which came out in 2012- copied it, or if it was just a weird coincidence that both movies have an interdimensional portal with a seemingly endless evil army coming out of it set on the top of a weird looking building in the middle of a city that they have to fly up and close after a showdown with the villain?

every director to ever make a movie adaptation of literally any of shakespeare’s tragedies: holy shit but what if we STARTED the film with the funeral before flashing back oh my god so genius

I love behind the scenes content for shows and movies but imo it’s gone so downhill in the past decade or so.
DVD was amazing for this stuff when it was a new. Entire documentaries on a whole separate disc! Filled with interviews and storyboards from “regular” people delighted to share how they create props and design sets and where they pull inspiration from!
Now you get content that more than anything has a vibe of “we got some of the celebrity cast to come in for a day to pal around and be quirky in hopes we get a good 7 second Twitter ad out of it”. No authenticity allowed, even if the content originated as a way to show the difficulties and passion that come with getting something to a screen. Just an opportunity more marketing fodder, baby!
