#out of my cold dead hands horikoshi
Note
i'm pretty sure this is how toga sees herself (but, of course it's because of how society saw her) - a grotesque parody of a femininity. the last two chapters were about how toga was unable to actually love herself, hence why she asked ochako if ochako thinks she is cute and has that relieved look on her face when ocha tells her that she's the cutest. she wants to like herself and be happy with the way she is.
On the risk of sounding idiotic, I'm to say that the League of Villains is my favorite part of bnha for the way Horikoshi sells what essentially is a group of unadaptaded social failures to the readers.
On the risk of sounding pretentious, allowe me to apply terms like "mythological" to the symbolism of the League of Villains, terms like "visceral" to the emotional execution of their arcs. By that of course I'm referring to the archetypes Horikoshi chooses to select for them, the tropes he plays with. The oldest son who despairs when his father denies him his heritage. The young maiden who is lovely and joyful but by her power is perceived as an ugly evil hag. They boy king chosen and named by misfortune.
But so much more.
Horikoshi assigns the metamorphosis trope to Tomura so it can symbolize his awakening to real evil, but he simultaneously uses the same image to stablish AFO'S influence over Tomura, nothing but a butterfly on a spider's web. Patricide and matricide and horror offsprings, kids that work as bad omens, men that look like living corpses and later bloom in beauty representative of malice.
He uses motifs like the maiden, the mother, the crone on Toga, themes of monstrous femininity as perceived by society. Cannibalistic sparrows bursting out of her belly in dreams, Toga shaving her skin and it melting all around her every time she shapeshifts, the very-on-the-face picture of Toga as a twisted old witch towering over Ochako. Female emotions naturally perceived as threats for being irrational or erratical. Obsessive love and apparent vanity guiding her actions.
Dabi's the jealous brother, the fallen prince, he's the orphic messenger emerging from the depths of the underworld to share the judgment of the Hades. He's called a demon. All the Frankenstein references, his desperation among ice and snow, the liturgical aspect of the name he choose: Dabi, cremation. Horikoshi dresses him in white to go to the final battle, changed the color of his hair like the changing of seasons, made him cry blood.
When the Leagues of Villain suffers, the pannels look almost biblical, ritualistic. It's the mythos of it all, for me.
Like when Curious held a bloody Toga in her arms, speaking of martyrs and journalistic storytelling, Toga made some sculpture from the renaissance for the way her limbs hanged, the light illuminated her. She was Jesus Christ dead on Virgin Mary's arms in that panel, cold, lifeless, tragic. She's the fallen angel coleric eyes staring at her enemies from over her shoulder/arm. She's Judith with the head of Holofernes, she's the "witch" getting burn on Salem for something though they saw thought they heard throught did happened.
It's the stigmata on Tomura's hands, the father (AFO), the son (Tomura) and the holy spirit of them both (the original quirk of AFO himself). He's the demigod proving himself on trials so he can obtain the blessing of his divine father. He is the twice orphan coated in darkness when the triumph finally comes. He got an town kneeling in front of him, swearing loyalty; he is a prisoner of his own body, his entire life is surrounded with hands as if to remind it how there was no one to save him now or then, except for the devil he had to make a deal with.
Dabi is Icarus, wings on fire falling to the ocean, he is the son of Icarus, repeating his mistake once again. He is Phaeton on Helios chariot, burning as he descends, threatening as he rides to burn the heavens and freeze the earth. He's Cain trying to kill Abel, he is Esau, fighting to get his birthright back. He's the prodigal son, he's Lazarus coming back to life, he's Judas himself selling Twice for what he thought was a good deal, he's the angel raining fire on the sins of men.
On the risk of losing my mind, those are not only vehicles of the narrative to convein meaning, but it's also what them (Tomura, Dabi, Toga and all the members of the League of Villains), have been feed by society. I deeply apologize for ranting on your ask, anon, but you're so right it inspired me.
We know Horikoshi made a whole point of telling us AFO is obsessed with comic books and most recently, he presented through a flashback of the League the idea that the internal storytelling of bnha is quiet important to the development of the plot. Heroes and villains are a narrative the enemy used to create to identify their rivals, something that later evolved from comics to real life. When Toga rejects taking a name, it's the same as when she rejected becoming just a story for Curious to write or AFO to guide. When All Might and every other hero talks about the League, is always on those weird narrative guidelines.
So what Ochako does is rejecting that narrative creates by society, getting pass all the lies and all machinations and judgement and prejudices and all the expectations, so she can finally reach the real Toga. Similar to how we see Endeavor asking Touya to tell him how he feels. He wants to hear it from him, to listen and comprehend now that he's ready, he is getting rid of all that cultural baggage that's not working, cleaning the dirt from his eyes. And what Deku is yet to do: find Tenko among all the darkness and barriers AFO created on Tomura and pull him out.
Touya, Toga, Tomura, they were deep within the narrative, incapable of saving themselves 'cause they were incapable of seeing past their trauma and hurt. Therefore, the importance of the UA kids recognizing the falsehood of the morals of the hero society and changing those in time to save not only the world, but the victims such beliefs had left.
HOLY SHIT THIS BECAME AND IMPROVISED META SORRY ANON. YOU DID NOT ASK FOR ANY OF IT OMG. YOU WERE ONLY ANSWERING MY TAGS ON A PREVIOUS POST. SORRY SORRY

i’ve had this in my drafts since may of this year. lets look.
Tumblr media
i’ve kinda given up on my narrator katsuki theory for now. it just doesn’t really make sense. also a major part of his character development just ended, so all that’s left is his relationships with other characters. especially. izuku.
shoto has main character privileges and plot armour. he’s shown no reason to die.
i still think hawks will pull through. if horikoshi was going to kill him, AFO would’ve undoubtedly killed him when he stole fierce wings.
listen. i am a self aware deadzuku believer. i know it won’t happen but you will pry that theory out of my cold, dead hands.
endeavor dying is just a dream of mine. but if he had to die, it should’ve been during the first war. now? motherfucker better live to atone.
hot take but i don’t think rei is at as much fault for her family’s situation as she blames herself for. i do believe she could’ve done more for touya, but after his death? i think she did her best. which wasn’t great, considering she was putting up with the devil himself.
touya dying seems wrong to me. we spent so long believing that he was dead, so killing him again would be repetitive. i don’t see him having a change of heart, (i will be so fucking pissed if he does. characters stop forgiving your abusers challenge impossible) but unlike himiko, i can see him going to jail.
i was clearly wrong about all might, and now nighteye has given him complete and total plot armour.

(Ending 6 of 8)
A Villainous Ending
You took All for One’s words as an opportunity. You weren’t ready for this. You were just a child. What did the Pro Heroes expect you to do? He could kill you without even lifting a finger. You backed up, stumbling over yourself to get away. You wanted to be a hero, but you didn’t want to lose your life before even getting a chance to become one.
You tumbled off the back of Gigantomachia, running in the direction of Doku who had still not made the decision to leave or stay. He held a hand out toward you, ready to catch you when you were in arm’s reach.
“He’s got a knife! Watch yourselves! That’s the villain BioVirus!” Deku warned.
Kobura’s focus went to him, but Deku was still unable to stand due to his injuries. Just as you were about to meet Kobura’s hand, a strand of cables lashed out crushing him where he stood. Shinso came out of nowhere, grabbing you and pulling you away. The knife fell from Kobura’s fingertips.
“Wait! Don’t! He’s only trying to help!” you shouted toward Best Jeanist. “Let him go!”
You struggled in Shinso’s grasp, but he’d lifted you from the ground. The binds tightened around Kobura. His eyes widened in panic. You saw venom gurgle up into his mouth. Bubbles of air barely making it out his throat. He struggled, and the cables only grew tighter around him. His face twisted in pain, growing red and then purple in color.
“He can’t breathe!” you shouted. “Let him go! He’s not our enemy! He was helping!”
“Best Jeanist knows what he’s doing. Stop fighting me, Kitten. He’s a villain. He should have never showed up here,” Shinso assured you.
Doku didn’t even have enough air to respond. Watching him struggle like that was too horrifying. You elbowed Shinso in the jaw, scrambling out of his grasp to make it to Doku. They weren’t listening to you. No matter how easy or constricting Best Jeanist was being, something was wrong with Doku’s quirk. He was drowning in his own viral venom. He couldn’t even fight for his case to be released. You took hold of the cables, attempting to pull them away with assistance from your mind quirk. You pulled off some of the rope, but lost grip on others.
“You’re killing him!” you shouted. “Let him go!”
Doku’s eyes rolled up in the back of his head. Your chest constricted. In a last-ditch effort to get him free, you cut your hands on the special fabric. You snapped three binds. It took four for Doku to be dropped. You put up a mind shield so he wouldn’t be grabbed again. You reached for his face, patting his cheek in an attempt to get him to react. You put him on his side and venom emptied out of his parted lips, followed by streams of blood. There were indentations of where the cables had him, they’d gone deep into his skin, leaving behind red welts. How could a Pro Hero have done this? You begged for him to be released and yet Best Jeanist didn’t even weaken his hold on him.
“Breathe! Wake up, Doku. You’re free,” you begged.
Tears burst from your eyes. You continued to shake Kobura, hoping that he would respond to you. His skin was cold under your touch. You pressed your ear to his chest, but you couldn’t hear a heartbeat. You rolled him onto his back, beginning CPR. As you pressed the heel of your palm into his chest, wracking sobs escaped you. You pressed your lips to his, trying to breathe life back into him. You weren’t sure how long you continued on like this. It could have been minutes or hours that you were doing compressions, but he never woke up.
You fell over Doku, crying into his chest and pleading for the life to come back to him. You were screaming for someone to get help, but no one came. Your mind shield eventually dissipated from exhaustion. Shinso dragged you off of Doku’s lifeless body, clutching you to him as you cried.
“Please, someone help him,” you begged again.
Evidently, Shigaraki had escaped with the help of his Nomus. Everything appeared to be at a standstill. Silence and decayed landscape lay in the wake of the destruction. You refused to leave with the paramedics, until they finally covered Kobura’s body and took him away.
You shivered, unable to forget the lifelessness that beheld his vivid green eyes. Shinso somehow managed to get you into an ambulance. They checked you over, uttering nonsensical words at you. Nothing mattered. The heroes killed Kobura. They murdered him.
You numbly sat in your dorm room for days. Classes were on hold while everyone recovered from the aftermath. You packed a bag before you knew what you were doing. With Mr. Aizawa in the hospital, no one stopped you from leaving U.A. grounds. You’d made up your mind. You wouldn’t become a killer. You couldn’t become a Pro Hero after what you’d just witnessed. Best Jeanist had been in the top ten Pro Heroes. Hawks was number two, and he had murdered Twice. You wouldn’t go back to your parents. You wouldn’t be locked away again.
You wandered the streets of Japan, backpack weighing heavily on your shoulders. You blended too well into the crowds in your normal clothes. Day became night, night became day, and again the cycle continued. You didn’t sleep. You didn’t eat. You just walked, until you were standing in an alleyway, swaying on your numb legs. Hunger clawed at your empty stomach. Night had fallen over you.
“Anna?”
You turned, feeling the hairs stand up on your forearm. Toga tilted her head to the side in confusion. She looked you up and down, crossing her arms over her chest.
“What’s a hero student doing in this part of town at night?” she asked.
“I’m no longer a hero student,” you murmured. Your fingers dug into the straps at your shoulders. A single tear fell down your face. “They killed him. The Pro Heroes killed him, and I couldn’t save him.” You collapsed where you stood, exhaustion taking you in one fell swoop.
Toga rushed to you, keeping your head from hitting the ground. Her eyes widened at your words. She sunk down beside you. “They killed both of them,” she corrected. “I lost them both.”
You sobbed. Toga’s arms came around you in an embrace. You hugged her back.
“It hurts so bad. I can’t stop seeing it. I can’t stop having nightmares about it,” you confessed.
“I know.” She rubbed your back in an attempt to console you.
“I hate them for it. I did everything I could to stop them. I begged them to let him go.” You cried harder, shaking.
“He loved you,” she said. “He really loved you, and he wouldn’t want you to blame yourself for it. It’s not your fault. It’s the hero’s fault.”
You nodded into her shirt in agreement.
“There’s one thing you can do to make the pain go away,” Toga explained.
You wiped at your eyes, trying to look at her. “I’ll do anything. What can I do?”
“Avenge their deaths.”
…Ten Years Later…
You adjusted your hood again, watching a few Pro Heroes make an illegal deal with villains for some quirk-erasing bullets. They weren’t cops. They fully intended to use those bullets for their own gain. You saw it in their minds. Their perverse understanding of how to get ahead in this powered world was to erase the quirks of those that were standing in their way. You almost wished you had waited for Toga to come out with you. She would have enjoyed cutting them to pieces.
You tapped one of Kobura’s knives with the tip of your finger. A slit to their throats would be more than they deserved. They’d been making these kinds of deals all over the city. They’d been doing it for years. Your hand trailed up your false-leather suit, pressing into your temple once you reached your head. Kobura’s taste in clothing impressed you. He only had the finest fabrics, all of which had a tactical advantage. Toga insisted you inherited all of his assets. She said he would have wanted it that way. If he only could see you now, he’d probably be grinning from ear to ear.
Your eyes followed the Pro Heroes as they left. Perhaps, you’d let them suffer before you scrambled their minds, make them imagine their worst fears. Of course, making them braindead was a far worse punishment, alive but incoherent. They’d be remembered as the braindead puppets of a villain, rather than their former selves as dishonest Pro Heroes.
You dropped down from your perch, smirking as the three men turned around. You gripped one by the mind, taking everything he was and twisting it into nothing. He dropped, a mindless vessel.
“Please, don’t hurt us, MindVirus,” one of the more experienced Pro Heroes begged. He recognized you immediately. “We were buying those bullets to get them off the streets. You have to believe us. We didn’t know it would be a bad thing.”
But, he did know. He was lying to your face. He knew you could read his mind and yet he rambled on about having no knowledge of what he was doing. “Know that your final words were a lie,” you spat. You lifted your hand, snapping his mind in half like a twig too.
The last man trembled in fear as you approached him. You lifted your hand to wipe his mind too.
“Anna Kokoro!”
You halted, lifting your lip into a snarl. You hadn’t heard that name in a long time. It had been erased from existence long ago. You were now MindVirus in honor of Doku Kobura’s wrongful death. You glanced back, narrowing your eyes.
“You’ve got the wrong person,” you snapped.
“The hell I do.” Katsuki Bakugo charged out into the dimly lit alleyway.
You smiled, a crooked and wicked grin. “Dynamight, how nice of a Pro Hero like you to grace me with your presence this evening. Unfortunately, I cannot play with you right now. I’m rather busy.” You turned back, and the man escaped around the corner. You rolled your eyes. At least he was not the one carrying the contraband. Still…
You shot a strand of your mind out, catching the Pro Hero even without seeing him. You heard the smack of his face hitting the sidewalk pavement. Yes, that would suffice as a punishment for now. He would think twice about doing something villainous again.
“I’m talking to you, Big Brain,” Bakugo snapped.
You yawned in boredom. “Stop acting like we’re back in school, Dynamight. That nickname has very little effect on me anymore.” You looked at your nails in disinterest.
“Why are you killing Pro Heroes?” he growled out, holding up his hand, ready to blast you at a moment’s notice.
“I haven’t been killing that many,” you said. “I’ve mostly emptying their minds.” You glanced at him again. “I assure you that they deserved it, but I know you wouldn’t believe me.”
“This isn’t you, Anna. You don’t kill people,” Bakugo said. “Come with me willingly, and this won’t get ugly.”
You raised an eyebrow at him. He was far more chiseled than you remembered. Age matured him nicely. He bulked up significantly from when the two of you were teenagers. You scanned him over. It may be to your benefit to string him along. It wouldn’t hurt to have him chasing after you. Actually, it would be a welcome distraction from your monotonous day to day as a villain. Things were too easy for you. Your mind quirk thrived when you weren’t holding back.
“I’m not Anna anymore.” You shrugged. “And, don’t waste your breath, hero. I’m not coming with you. The only reason that I haven’t fried your brain yet, is because I find you rather amusing, physically and/or mentally. I haven’t really decided yet. Besides, you’re one of the ‘good’ ones, if I can call any Pro Heroes good ones. At least you’re honest.” Yes, you knew him well. He’d blasted his way up the hero ranks. His overall personality hadn’t changed. He never strayed from the hero’s path. Although many believed that he walked a fine line, you knew that he never did anything evil in the slightest.
You reached out and gripped his mind, a grape between your quirk’s grasp. Bakugo shivered. You scowled when you watched the memories of your old self flitter through his thoughts. You let go of his head, sending him back with a mind blast. He caught himself, but much farther away from you.
“Arrest me if you can, Dynamight.” You lifted your hand as a farewell. “I await your ultimate triumph. Perhaps, you may be the one to end my reign of terror, but I highly doubt that.” You placed him in a mind barrier so he couldn’t follow you. You’d release him as soon as you knew you were out of his sight. “I’d give up on what you knew about my former self if I were you. She died a long time ago, Katsuki.”
You left him with that one last sliver of hope, chuckling to yourself as you disappeared into the night. Being a villain had its perks, including having a grown-up Pro Hero Dynamight constantly seeking you out. You relished the idea of him trying to chase you down, being just out of reach. You hoped that he could stop you one day. Maybe, it would finally bring you some kind of peace.

BnHA Chapter 322: IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME
Previously on BnHA: Endeavor was all, “Kirishima please take Hagakure and Aoyama and put them away somewhere out of sight until we’re finally ready for the U.A. Traitor Plot.” Shouto was all “HEY DEKU DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU THAT MAYBE YOU WANDERING THE STREETS LOOKING LIKE A GOTH PRAYING MANTIS IS EXACTLY WHAT AFO WANTS.” Deku was all “I’M SORRY I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF MY CRUSHING MARTYR COMPLEX AND ACCUMULATED TRAUMA.” Mineta was all “HEY DEKU YOU SWEET THANG, IF I COULD REARRANGE THE ALPHABET I’D PUT ‘U’ AND ‘I’ TOGETHER, ANYWAYS HMU 💖”, or at least that’s what fandom apparently thought he said. Everyone was all “WELL SINCE WE’RE BACK HERE IN KAMINO WE SHOULD DO THE THING” and did the whole “launching someone into the air to save someone by dramatically grabbing their hand” thing that everybody fucking loves to do in Kamino so damn much. Iida was all “[bombards me and Deku with feels].” Deku was all, “ू(ʚ̴̶̷́ .̠ ʚ̴̶̷̥̀ ू).” I was all, “(;*△*;).” Horikoshi was all, “my work here is done.”
Today on BnHA:
Tumblr media
oh my god.
so I finally went back to look at what I wrote up for 321 last week, and it’s a hot fucking mess lol, and I really don’t want to deal with that right now, so we’re just gonna skip it and go back sometime in the next few days or something because I really want to read the new chapter and I have no self control. I’M SORRY IIDA
oh my god he’s breaking out the narration word bubbles oh my god. shit is about to get epic isn’t it
Tumblr media
has there ever been a chapter that opened with these that WASN’T epic? serious question. anyways all aboard the Feels Express I guess
YEP
Tumblr media
I saved a bunch of other crying kaomojis when I was looking for ones to use in the “previously on” summary, and right now it’s looking like that was a good fucking decision you guys. if I’m going to be an emotional wreck I might as well do it in style ʕ ಡ ﹏ ಡ ʔ
AND BY THE WAY!!
Tumblr media
SHOULD I JUST THANK HORIKOSHI NOW AND SAVE MYSELF SOME TIME LATER. THE MAN ALWAYS FUCKING DELIVERS WHAT ELSE CAN I FUCKING SAY GODDAMN. IS IT TOO EARLY TO DECLARE THIS MY NEW FAVORITE CHAPTER? I SHOULD PROBABLY READ FURTHER THAN ONE PAGE BUT I’VE JUST GOT A FEELING
(ETA: it’s like. maybe my second favorite lol. A HUG WOULD HAVE PUT IT IN FIRST, I’M JUST SAYING.)
anyway so Ochako is releasing Iida, which is actually hilarious, because idk if you all know this but Iida can’t fucking fly you guys
Tumblr media
like, I assume Ochako released him because she already knew that Kirishima was in place to catch him, but I really love this split-second of panic on Iida’s part where he’s all “HMM, IS OCHAKO TRYING TO KILL ME, ACTUALLY”
LOL THERE’S A THOOM AND EVERYTHING
Tumblr media
that’s some plus fucking ultra on Ochako’s part right there. “IF THEY DIE THEY DIE” goddamn girl did you leave your chill in the same locker as Momo or what
now poor Kiri is all “DAMMIT DEKU ARE YOU PASSED OUT OR WHAT, I DIDN’T GET TO TELL YOU MY THING GODDAMMIT”
Tumblr media
oh my gosh he is curled up so small you guys oh my fucking lord
Tumblr media
RESIDUAL “LOST CHILD” FEELS FROM LAST WEEK COMING IN FOR A LANDING!! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SEATBACKS AND TRAY TABLES ARE IN THEIR UPRIGHT POSITIONS OMG ( ˚͈͈͈͈̥̆ ₍₎ ˚͈͈͈͈̥̆ )
LMAO IIDA IS TRYING TO CONFIRM THAT OCHAKO PLANNED FOR KIRISHIMA TO CATCH HIM, AND KIRISHIMA IS ALL “NOPE I’M JUST HERE BY CHANCE BRO”
Tumblr media
Ochako is the U.A. Traitor confirmed. Hagakure I am so sorry I doubted you. Ochako get over here. so are you Toga now or what
anyway so now everyone is running over before Iida can react to this casual announcement of his attempted murder. and now Mina is taking her turn, and Horikoshi is all “HEY BTW IS MINA CRYING ON THE LIST OF THINGS THAT MAKE YOU CRY?” and of fucking course it is, you bastard. I’m not made of stone
Tumblr media
( ɵ̥̥ ˑ̫ ɵ̥̥)
SLDKFJLSDKJ:LKWEJ

DOES ANY OF THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE I DON’T KNOW WHAT WORDS ARE ANYMORE I’M JUST SWIMMING IN FEELS OKAY. I’M TRYING HERE

(ETA: I have been advised that I misread this part; Rat Principal told everyone how safe U.A. was, but he’s not the one who ratted out Deku; that was “the rumors”, apparently. which, if I had to guess, were probably started by AFO.)

New BNHA, new liveblog, 0 miles today because the gyms are all closed. this is weird for me.
REALLY loving each and every one of the hand-wavy reasons Horikoshi gives for “fuck it i just wanted Aizawa (or maybe Mirio?) to adopt a kid”
Aizawa: “Look, the hospital kicked her out, her parents are MIA, her grandpa’s in a coma, and it’s not like Mirio is doing anything right now.” Mirio: “Haha yeah :DD”
“We worked for like 15 episodes to steal her, you think we’d just, what, give her BACK? Finders fucking keepers, Midoriya.”
Sometimes a family is an out-of-commission 18 year old, a really tired teacher, a traumatized little girl, and the ugliest godDAMN sweater on the planet
Tumblr media
Dats gay
I really like the Wild Wild Pussycats casual clothes???
Tumblr media
Their whole aesthetic is Your Three Lesbian Aunts And One Gay Uncle Visiting For Thanksgiving
Kota has... Deku’s Shoes... thats real fucking cute
SPEAKING of cute: Ragdoll is an absolute gem and I wish there was more of her in the Training Camp arc she’s a real cutie
I’m glad we’re finally learning how rankings work, considering the very concept of the ranking system has been absolutely core to the series since Day 1. Like 90-something episodes in and Horikoshi is finally like “oh i should explain how that works”
Tumblr media
I’m a big fan of how, whenever something Thematically Relevant to Todoroki is said, they just have to pan to his blank face, because it’s not like he’d ever. you know. participate in the conversation. not his style. we only get the Meaningful Panning Shot.
Is that
Is that a
Is that a washing machine?
Is the #8 hero a washing machine?
Never mind
Wait is THAT man just named Crust?? Poor bastard is the #6 hero and his hero name is crust.
Like I KNOW it’s a japanese show and they can’t know all the impli--but i mean, but i
“Most Underappreciated Part of a Pizza Hero: Crust”
Tumblr media
oh HELL YEAH
OH HELL YEAH
also btw i really like Edgeshot’s voice. especially during the Kamino arc. it’s like, hypnotically chill
Tumblr media
its him... finally... the bastard of lore.... i’ve heard whispers of this fucker
oh like he’s an ASSHOLE-ASSHOLE
“Who are you trying to make happy with that statement? Stain?” O H SO like he’s an A S S H O L E
Mirko: “You’re an asshole. ...I LIKE that”
how quick i am to stan two separate characters within 30 seconds of meeting them
Tumblr media
what arrogance. what audacity. what flippant fucking disregard. i’d like TWELVE of him please.
Hawks: -speaks- Me:
Tumblr media
you know whats great? you know whats fantastic? his whole wing motif. because it doesn’t matter that Endeavor’s like 6′5″, Hawks can still float above him and condescend to him
Tumblr media
hes looking down his fucking nose at this man. ICONIC.
Hawks: “Just so everyone knows, I have a higher approval rating than Endeavor, and I have more fans, and my hair is way better than his. Anyway, you wanted to microphone, Bitch Boi?”
REALLY vibing with Hawks’ sarcasti-clapping of Endeavor’s speech to a completely silent audience
Tumblr media
ASJSAHJAS, AN ICON. #1 HERO OF MY HEART, HAWKS
“Shame” as a quirk is a hilarious concept. And also how do you discover this? “Little Timmy’s fly was open at school and he promptly took out a wall”
and Hawks just fucking DECKS him from behind. LOVE the bait and switch of Shame-Man being important.
Tumblr media
Endeavor: “Is he... is he dead?” Hawks: “Hot pot!! :DD”
Tumblr media
The stupidest looking dog. i LOVE it
Just jumping in front of a truck for NO narrative reason other to have Hawks’ feathers save it
while hawks is STILL TALKING ABOUT FOOD
I MEAN BITCH SAME, BITCH RELATABLE, BUT LIKE
Tumblr media
CHEEKY. love his stupid bits of English.
the autograph signing scene was basically just the Talent Show episode of Spongebob where Squidward and Spongebob do exactly the same thing, Spongebob being met with uproarious applause and Squidward being met with dead silence.
Tumblr media
me buying shit in a craft store i cannot possibly need nor use, but it was shiny and only $5
Hawks calls Tokoyami “Tsukuyomi”?? am i missing something there or did he straight up get the name wrong?
Hawks: “I tried to scout your son but turns out he’s a failure. Runs in the family? :D”
85% of the reason I’m loving Hawks is because he’s JUST here to make Endeavor’s life harder, and that’s something I support every day of the week.
Hawks: “I just want to complain about how nothing happened today and then go to bed”
That one’s not a joke thats a direct fucking quote and WOW BITCH SAME
Endeavor: “how do you know about these Nomu rumors?” Hawks: “I’m a nosy bitch who loves gossip and can’t mind my own business? How would I not know about this???”
Tumblr media
I understand this is a serious and dramatic screenshot, but also I’m too caught up in the notion that - when experiencing some strong emotion - Todo can’t help but just Light Himself A Little On Fire
Deku: “Good morning Todoroki! Are you ready for our English test today? :D” Shouto: -catches fire- Shouto: “...Our what”
Lunchrush: “Hey there, what can I get you?” Shouto: “The cold soba” Lunchrush: “All out of cold soba, sorry” Shouto: -catches fire- “That’s fine. Just the ramen then.”
Endeavor: “Hey.. son... Shouto... I’ve been thinking... With all the steps I’ve made to be a better hero, don’t you think maybe it’s time you forgive me?” Shouto: -actively on fire. 100% encased in flame- “Let me think about it.”

Hi there. Hope you're doing well. There's something I wanted to ask regarding Dabi/Touya.
We all know that when Touya "died" at the Sekoto peak, he was only 13 years old. And when he was introduced as Dabi for the first time in the series, he was 23, meaning we still don't know what happened to him in those missing 10 years in between his "death" and his first appearance as Dabi.
Recently, I noticed something in the manga like -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What do you think? Do Ujiko and AFO have anything to do with Touya becoming Dabi?
hey there! I'm doing okay
And yeah! I definitely think there's a good chance they have met before. The question is when. The theory that Ujiko might've stepped in to save Touya's life from the burns after Sekoto peak is a bit of a stretch because it leaves out a couple of questions (the first being how did Touya get away from him), but you can still pry it from my cold dead hands. Until Horikoshi states that it's not canon, I'm assuming it is. Here's a post I wrote on the subject.
But even if Ujiko has nothing to do with the aftermaths of Touya's "death", I still wouldn't completely rule out the chance that Dabi might've met him as a kid. After all, Ujiko does specialize in research about the quirk singularity point, and we know that Endeavor seeked out the opinion of medical professionals to figure out why Touya's quirk hurt his body. It wouldn't be too far-fetched if one of the specialists they saw was Ujiko himself, who also doubles as a quirk-focused pediatrician (he's the guy Inko turned to to figure out why Izuku's quirk was "coming late").

Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugou:
The blond man awoke by the loud movements in the house the two of you shared. He looked next to him to check if you were still lying next to him, but your bedside was empty and cold. Bakugou jumped out of bed and crept down the hallway to look for the intruder. This guy would be dead meat if he laid a hand on you.
To his fortune, he found you dancing wildly to your favorite song. The volume of the music was so loud that he could hear it. He leaned against the doorframe and watched you. After some time, you stoped the music and took out your headphones. You turned around and screamed as you saw Bakugou standing there."Jeez, Katsuki, you scared the hell out of me." "That's what you get when you get up in the middle of the night to dance," he grumbled. "I woke up and couldn't sleep, I didn't wanted to wake you up." you justified and smiled. "Whatever, we need to wake up early. So we are going to bed again," he said bluntly and already walked back to your bedroom. "Can you carry me? I am so tired." you acted. He sighed and threw you over his shoulder. "You make me crazy, dumbass." "That's my job." you smiled.
Izuku Midoryia:
He came back home today late from hero work. The house was dark, so he thought that you must have already gone to sleep. Quietly, he opened the door and tiptoed inside. He took off his shoes and put away his keys as noiselessly as possible. The house was quiet for a while. However, a flash of light caught his eye. Slowly he approached the source of it.
Your pretty figure danced through the living room. You had put your phone on the coffee table and danced to the soft music. A slight smile formed on Izukus face. You waited for him and spent your time dancing. "I never knew you could dance that well," he said out of the blue, and a screech escaped you. "Izu, your home." you smiled after the shock subsided. "I am sorry, I didn't want to scare you, honey." he apologized. "There is no need to apologize, Izu." you came near him and hugged him. "We should get to bed now. You must be exhausted since you waited for me, even though it's late at night," he said and rubbed small cycles over your back. "I will always wait for you," you mumbled and fell asleep in his arms. He put his arms under the back of your knees and carried you to bed.

Daddy's Perfect Cock-Slut [English | BNHA]
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia (@Horikoshi Kohei) Character(s): Todoroki Enji | Endeavor, Todoroki Shouto Pairing(s): EnjiSho Rating: E Word count: 3528 CWs: Shota, Underage, Extremely Dubious Consent, Father/Son Incest, Grooming, Mind Manipulation, Childhood Trauma, Blow Jobs, Butt Plugs, Anal Sex, Daddy Kink, Begging, Rough Sex, Large Cock, Cock Worship, Cock Cages, Cock-Slut Shouto, Creampie, Implied/Referenced Father/Daughter Incest, Dissociation, Dirty Talk, Dead Dove: Do Not Eat
Summary: - That green-haired runt [...] knew nothing about Shouto. Or about Enji. Or about their relationship and how it functioned. -
Enji's annoyed. That green-haired runt reminded him too much of All Might, with his self-righteous attitude and acting like it's his duty to go sticking his nose into someone else's business, unwanted and spewing corny bullshit. Did that kid even know who he was talking to in that way?
His Shouto doesn't need help from a kid who can't even properly control his quirk. He knew nothing about Shouto. Or about Enji. Or about their relationship and how it functioned.
[*]
It took two days for Enji to notice Shouto's catatonic state and lifeless stare. He'd been busy dealing with the paperwork necessary to hospitalize his wife after her psychotic breakdown and her attack on their youngest child. Also the press — keeping the nosy fuckers away from his family problems was of utmost importance. Good thing he showered his PR staff and lawyers in money.
It was a comment from Fuyumi which had clued Enji in on the boy's ghost-like presence around the house.
Shouto, excused from school for a couple of weeks after the incident, would be seen wandering the halls in a daze; he'd often gravitate to the kitchen or his mother's bedroom, and stay there for indefinite amounts of time. He only moved when someone nudged him out of the rooms.
His son, he also came to notice quickly, was very responsive to commands in that state. As if his brain was more than happy to be given directions or orders to follow.
Any sort of command.
«Stop right there, Shouto,» Enji ordered one day, seeing the boy walking down the corridor in front of his open studio door. Shouto did as told, making Enji hum, curiosity piqued. «Come in Shouto, and close the door.»
His son obeyed, standing just past the threshold, his face devoid of any real expression and a haunted look in his eyes. It was disconcerting, Enji had to admit, but the cooperativeness was pleasing after all the reluctance to follow directives Shouto had shown since they'd begun his training.
«Come to me, boy,» he said, waving him over. «And speak, I'm tired of you playing mute.»
Shouto slowly crossed the distance, halting beside the chair Enji was sitting in. «Father.» His voice was scratchy from disuse and a bit dull, but it was still an improvement over the contempt it held before.
Something could be bettered though.
«Call me 'Daddy', boy,» he ordered.
«Yes, Daddy.»
The word sent a shiver down Enji's spine. Something wicked and dark—a desire to claim what was his on the most base level — awakening inside him for the first time in months, maybe years. Rei wasn't here to stop him, this time; she wasn't here to distract him with her own body, or to send Fuyumi his way in her stead.
Shouto was all his for the taking, now.
«Your Mommy was taken away because of you, Shouto. And since you're the reason she's not here anymore, it'll be your job to do everything Mommy did for Daddy. Do you understand, Shouto?»
«Yes, Daddy. I'll do everything Mommy did for Daddy, because it's my fault she was taken away.»
The smirk slashing through his face was nothing but sinister.
«Good boy.»
They were in Rei's bedroom, alone and with the door locked. It wasn't necessary, frankly: his and his wife's rooms were on a different side of the house from his kids', and none of them were about to come looking for him, not after dinner anyway.
Enji had come out of the bathhouse to find Shouto once again in his mother's room, gaze lost like a kicked puppy.
Defenseless. Adrift.
And Enji was there, because it was easy to take advantage of a traumatized child when you use the excuse of providing him with an anchor, a grounding touch.
He spread out Rei's futon on the tatami mats — a half-empty bottle of lube rolled out of it as well —, sat down with his legs loosely crossed in front of him and reached out a hand toward Shouto. His other hand undoing the knot of the towel at his hips.
«Here, Shouto, come sit in my lap,» Enji ordered.
«Yes, Daddy.» Shouto plopped down in the circle his legs made, back straight and blinking slow, breath even.
He didn't protest when Enji took his hand in a gentle hold, brushing a large thumb over the white knuckles; he didn't protest when Enji cradled the bandaged side of his face in his other hand. He didn't try to back away, as Enji coaxed his jaws open and delved two thick fingers inside, the rough pads gliding over a soft tongue and gums. Back and forth, deeper at each passage and full of intent.
A flush began to creep onto Shouto's cheeks; his breath humid as it puffed over the back of Enji's hand, a spark flickering to light in his uncovered eye.
He brought his son's hand toward his groin, pleased to see him follow the movement, gaze focusing on the swelling cock nestled in dark crimson curls. A shiver coursed through Shouto's thin frame as his fingers made contact, a sigh escaping parted pale-pink lips.
«Daddy...» Shouto whispered, muffled by Enji's digits still in his mouth.
«Go on Shouto,» Enji said, letting his hand fall from the boy's face, setting it at his slim waist. «You remember what to do, right?»
Shouto nodded, too lost in the moment to respond verbally, but it was fine.
Enji picked up the lube, squirting some in the boy's palm. Cold fingers wrapped around his length — barely long enough to circle the girth of it even when limp — and stroked, the touch tentative, trembling but growing surer at each pass. The push and pull of the foreskin as it glided over the head, the stiffening of the cock under his fingertips seemed to entice Shouto. His pupil dilated the harder Enji got, the blush on his face darkening at each of Enji's pleased hums.
«Good, Shouto,» Enji praised. He groaned when his son's other hand joined in the stroking, the dual sensation of hot and cold enclosing his cock feeling nice on his burning skin. «Put more strength into it, boy.»
«Yes… Daddy,» Shouto whispered, sounding winded as his whole body shifted with his movements. Sweat started beading at his hairline from the extersion and the heat radiating off of Enji.
«Remember, Shouto, this is your duty now. Taking care of my needs, of my cock, is your responsibility.»
«… Because it's my... fault Mommy's not… here anymore...»
«That's right.» Enji smirked, dripping corruption and lust unbecoming of a hero. «Get your mouth down there, c'mon. Like I told you.»
Once the bandages came off his face and Shouto was cleared by the doctor to go back to school, the vacancy in his stare finally began to recede day by day. He no longer wandered around the house like a ghost and he talked more often, as stilted and curt as his sentences were.
A positive thing, according to the majority of people Enji spoke to — a phrase which never failed to make him raise an eyebrow. He could understand such naivety from Fuyumi, but from adults who should know better than to sweep PTSD and trauma under the rug? Bullshit. They were just trying to appease him, Endeavor, the #2 Hero.
They were lucky that worked perfectly for Enji.
He could do without the new-found sparks of defiance in Shouto's eyes whenever they crossed paths or trained in the dojo, sure, but in was worth it when all the fight bled out of his tiny frame at the first glimpse of Enji's cock. He knew playing his hand while the boy was in a malleable state would be beneficial in drilling some key concepts in his brain.
«That was weak, Shouto! Fuyumi could have punched harder than that!» Enji reprimanded, eyes narrowed in Shouto's direction at his poor attitude.
He received a glare from the other side of the dojo, Shouto then kicking the dummy in the dick with an angry yell. Enji almost rolled his eyes at the display, but a sudden groan caught his attention.
«Ah— nnh…!»
Shouto was squirming where he stood, face pinched in discomfort and the heel of one hand carefully rubbing at his groin. Ah, Enji thought, it's the cage isn't it. Of course it was — it'd been only a week since Enji had put it on Shouto; he wasn't used to it yet.
«Stop touching it, Shouto,» Enji said. «It won't help—»
«Shut up! Take it off of me!»
Enji stood up, growling low and stalking toward his son. He gripped a fistful of bi-colored hair and shoved Shouto's face into his crotch none too gently, grinding him against his clothed, soft cock. Any protest died quickly. A breathy moan warming Enji's bulge, which twitched in interest as Shouto nudged his nose further into the crease between his thigh and pelvis.
«I told you not to touch the cage, Shouto,» Enji said, looking down at the boy.
«Mmkay,» Shouto muttered into the fabric of his sweatpants; his tiny arms embracing Enji's waist. «Daddy… wanna…»
«What do you want?»
«Daddy's… Da— haa!-» Enji rubbed a knee over Shouto's trapped little dick- «cock! Nnnh— Daddy's cock! P-Please...»
Enji chuckled. «And what d'you wanna do with it, mh, Shouto?»
Shouto looked up at him, flushed face and eyes swimming with desire to please. Enji could imagine the boy's mind quickly being overtaken by thoughts of his cock; touching it, stroking it, feeling its weight and warmth on his tongue — the way he'd been primed to in the weeks after the incident.
«S-service you— ah! — Daddy… please!»
«Since you're being so polite-» Enji patted his head, then undid the pants' drawstring and pulled them down enough for his cock to bounce free- «go ahead.»
Shouto's eyes light up, a needy whine falling from pink lips. «Thank you Daddy!»
He delved right in, mouth parting to suckle on the head, tongue sneaking under the foreskin and swirling around it like an ice-cream cone. Popping off the tip, Shouto moved down the hard length, kissing and licking every pulsing vein all the way to the base; he coated Enji's cock in saliva to ease the stroking of his small hands while he nuzzled up to the sac under it.
«Suck on those, boy,» Enji grunted, a large hand on the nape of Shouto's head. «That's where you came from.»
Shouto's tongue lapped at his heavy balls with careful brushes, lips puckering over the sensitive skin, sucking gently. Over and over, he kissed Enji's sac with something akin to reverence in both his touches and his eyes. His breath was humid and hitching as he worshiped Enji like the all-consuming being he was.
A low rumble reverberated in Enji's chest, his palm caressing red-and-white hair in silent appreciation. «Yeah… like that, Shouto. You like Daddy's cock, don't you?»
Shouto moaned, long and trembling with need. «Ah! I… I-I— yes! Like-» his lips attached to Enji's cock-head once again, drinking up the pre-cum oozing from it and mewling- «mngh— l-love it Daddy!» He rutted against Enji's leg, no doubt trying to find relief for his tiny dick trapped in that cage.
«Good boy. Now back to sucking.»
Enji unceremoniously pushed Shouto's parted mouth down on his twitching cock, fucking into it fast but controlled, thrusts shallow as his son let himself be used. Flushed cheeks hollowing and puffing out in time with his movements, and small hands cupping his balls, it didn't take long for Enji to feel himself starting to cum.
«Here it comes, Shouto,» he groaned, fingers dipping into the boy's nape to keep him still. «My seed— shit! Ngh!— don't spill any!»
Shouto's muffled assent sent jolts of pleasure up his cock, pushing him over the edge until he was dumping a load of scorching cum down the awaiting throat. Shouto drank and drank, lips tightening around his length to coax out every drop.
The sight alone — of Shouto's still-developing Adam's Apple bob — arousing him enough he could go for a second round immediately. «Like mother, like son: she loved to guzzle it down too.»
«Quit your squirming, dammit!» Enji growled, a rough palm on his son's hip.
«Nooo…! Back— put it back Daddy! Too empty...» Shouto cried.
Enji ignored the whining and the wriggling hips, too busy trying to reach for the lube one-handed, to appreciate the desperation Shouto was showing. At last managing to pop the bottle open, Enji poured the lube over the boy's slightly puffy hole — a huff of laughter escaping him at the squeak it earned him — and sank a finger inside.
Shouto's body shivered, no longer fighting. «Daddy...»
«Yeah,» Enji said. His digit moving back and forth, taking stock of how prepped his son's ass was after pulling out the plug which had been stretching him. «This is better, mh? A minute without something filling you up is unbearable, isn't it.»
The only answer he got was a whorish moan and Shouto pushing back into his hand.
Enji had introduced butt plugs around three months into his molding of Shouto into his personal, perfect cock-slut. He'd been dreaming about fucking his son well before Rei had snapped and gotten herself locked away in a hospital, and after teaching Shouto how to pleasure him with his mouth, Enji had decided it was time he started training that cute, round ass to take his cock. It'd been a couple of painstakingly long years. Years filled of better and better blowjobs, thigh-fucking — and occasional Fuyumi-fucking, because sometimes he missed the familiar feeling of a cold and wet pussy soaking up his boiling-hot cum —, and the slow-increasing girth of butt plugs up Shouto's hole.
The wait was finally over.
Enji was already rock-hard at the prospect of sinking balls-deep in Shouto.
His son seemed eager as well; spine curving sharply upward, hands gripping the futon under his shaking body in a vice. «Hhhnggh…!! O-oh! Da-Daddy! More— aah!— moreee!»
Enji smirked, a second finger pushing alongside the first to scissor and loosen Shouto; a third was quick to follow, and a fourth, the blushing rim stretched deliciously around his fingers, shiny with lube and fluttering. Enji shifted his hand back a little, calloused pads prodding at his son's prostate, licking his lips at Shouto's shocked yell. He kept up the touch until Shouto's walls were quaking and he was orgasming with his ass, his little caged dick limp but twitching uselessly over the sheet.
«Look at that, Shouto, you mastered the art of cumming like a woman,» Enji praised, fingers popping out of the boy with a squelch.
Shouto was out of it, drowning in post-coital bliss. «… Like a wo… man… did good?... Daddy…?»
«Yes, you did good. So good, you deserve my cock.»
Shouto didn't have time to say anything, Enji lubing himself up quickly and thrusting inside the small body in the next minute. Both moaned, when he bottomed out, then he pulled the boy up to sit on his thighs. Hands at a slim waist — leaving bruises on the milky-white skin —, Enji began ramming Shouto onto his cock at a brutal pace, the slapping of skin on skin loud and obscene, a nice background to the gritty grunts and the breathless mewls they made.
«How's Daddy's cock, mh, Shouto?»
«Mmngh! Aaah! Oh— l-l-loooove it…! Daddy!! Oh! Hhhgaah— yes! Cock!! Co— AH!»
Shouto was a mess of snot and tears and drool, with barely enough functioning brain cells to form words while he was mercilessly bounced on Enji's cock. His guts were speared continuously, his stomach visibly bulging every time Enji thrusted into him; his prostate was brushed against over and over to the point of pain, but Shouto kept moaning and sobbing in pleasure like Enji had molded him to—a slut for anything Daddy's cock gave him.
And Enji made sure to tell him.
«What a... whore! Happy to be a— ngh— rag-doll in my grasp...  just to get my— shit!— cock. Ready to crawl— haa!— on your knees and choke on it! You're a bitch in heat, Shouto— my bitch. My cock-slut!»
«Yours, yes! Yesyes! Slut— AH! DADDY! AH! AH!»
Shouto orgasmed again, body like jello in Enji's hands as he shook and shuddered and pissed all over the futon. He kept up his onslaught anyway, fucking up into Shouto through his walls' clenching down on him until he was cumming violently inside, still thrusting while he rode it out, uncaring of the seed spilling down his cock and adding to the nasty mess.
«Thank… you… Daddy...»
«Mmh, good boy, Shouto.»
[*]
He sees his son walk towards him, on his way to compete in his first match. «Shouto,» he calls, «I'm expecting to see you use your fire today.» Shouto scowls, seeming determined to ignore him and that won't do for Enji. He steps in front of his son, blocking the passage with his large frame; this time it's him who ignores Shouto's gritted «Get out of my way». He bends at the waist until their faces are as close as can be with Enji's quirk active. «I put up with this defiance at home,» he says. «but here and now? It's going to ruin your performance and I won't have that.» «Fuck o—» Shouto starts, only for the words to die out as soon as he sees Enji unzip the fly of his hero suit and pull out his limp cock. He smirks. The change in demeanor is instantaneous: Shouto's pupils swell, black overtaking gray and blue irises; his jaws grow slack and his lips part; a rosy tint blossoms on his cheeks. Tense shoulders sag. In the next second, Shouto's on his knees in front of him. «Daddy...» he whines. «Aah, that's better,» Enji says. He reaches out, weaves his large hand in bi-colored hair. A low moan leaves his son's throat. He can practically see the saliva gathering on the boy's tongue in anticipation, can see him squirm on the floor as the seconds pass by. Shouto moves closer, nosing at the crimson pubes at the base of Enji's cock but not touching the half-hard shaft. He wasn't given permission to yet. «Need your Daddy's cock to calm down, mh?» Enji teases. «Like a baby with his pacifier-» with his free hand, he strokes himself, quickly growing fully hard at the sight of Shouto panting and sniffing at his crotch like a dog- «wanna be a good boy for Daddy?» Shouto nods wordlessly, slowly humping his boot and Enji can vaguely feel the chastity cage rub on him through Shouto's clothes. «Yes! Yes, please Daddy...! Please, your cock— oooh I want it! Daddy, please... pleasepleaseDa— mgahghn!» Enji grabs a fistful of white-n-red hair and pulls on it, shoving his cock past slack jaws without hesitation. «Suck Shouto,» he orders. Shouto moans around him. His hands grope Enji's thighs, blunt nails digging into the muscle as an anchor while he starts bobbing his head over the massive length. His tongue swirls around the shaft in just the right way to make Enji groan; Shouto's throat constricts as he's swallowed past his son's gag reflex, the vibrations from the mewls travel all the way up Enji's spine. His son's mouth is perfect. «Yeah, that's more— nngh— like it! Fuck, Shouto— you love my... cock mh? That's a good whore—» Wet and tight around him — it almost reminds him of Rei's and Fuyumi's pussies. «Cool yourself down a bit boy,» he grunts. When his son does as told, Enji moans at the feeling and fucks himself deeper, harder past Shouto's lips—they're stretched and puffy and red, with drool oozing down his chin. Shouto chokes on his cock yet keeps working it like the greedy slut he is. He ignores the tears running down his flushed cheeks and the snot mixing with his spit and Enji's pre-cum. His face looks dazed and Enji knows Shouto's brain is mush right now: the only words blaring in there are "COCK" and "DADDY" and "DADDY'S CUM". Exactly the way Enji wants him. It's what Enji's taught him ever since Rei had disappeared from the house, eight years ago-and his youngest cock-sleeve has grown up to be exceptionally great at giving head. The most talented at it since his mother. «Take Daddy's spunk, you slutty boy!» Enji says through gritted teeth as he feels himself getting close. He rips Shouto's mouth off him, gripping his cock and stroking himself quick and harsh until his balls draw up and he's throbbing in his own fist. «Open up and say— fuck!— thank you!» Shouto whines, swollen lips parted and tongue lolling out, waiting to be fed. It's enough to push Enji off the edge. With one last stroke, he's cumming, the thick ropes of seed landing on his son's eager tongue as well as on the bridge of his nose and his left cheek. He milks his orgasm to the last drop, staring down at Shouto with a dark glint in his eyes as the boy slurps up all the cum sizzling on his face. «Thank you Daddy...» Behind him, Present Mic's voice calls for Shouto's name.

I keep re-reading MHA 299 and I know many are upset Hawks is standing up for Endeavor but... I get the whole chapter was setting up that Hawks is going to commit suicide by heroically protecting Endeavor. He doesn’t want to look at the alternative because it just adds to the tragedy of his life, but also because he wants to die. He probably feels he doesn’t HAVE to investigate it at ALL because what does it do for him? He’ll be dead and it won’t be something he has to worry about.
Hello, it’s nice to talk to you again! :) So I’m not sure if this is the response you were looking for cause I just sat down, began writing and it kinda went off topic? I’m not entirely sure, but thank you for sending your thoughts and opinions in!
I read over Chapter 299 a few more times and I’m not sure if I really interpreted it as Hawks wanting to die. However I think I can kind of see what you mean by he’s going to commit suicide in the sense that (depending on the outcome) the action of Hawks going to help Endeavor is “suicide” in that it is his choice.
I think the root of my interpretation lies with my opinion that while Horikoshi does work with heavy and difficult subjects, I can not see him ending the story of Hawks’ with death. While I think he could die in a metaphorical or symbolic way (something I believe has already happened when he took Jin’s life) when his story ends, a physical death is not impossible.
Just to express my train of thoughts easier, the following panels are not in the exact order of how they appear.
"Endeavor’s in Trouble”
I can see how you could interpret what Hawks says as him “standing up” for Endeavor but I did not really read it in that way. Standing up for him implies that he is in a way “okay” with what Endeavor has done in the past, and if we get more on Hawks’ thoughts later it will be clearer on where he stands but if this is all we get, I’d argue that he is not “letting things slide,” because it’s Endeavor.
All we currently have is that Hawks states, “Endeavor’s in trouble.” I think he’s most likely referring to Dabi here.
Tumblr media
I guess you could argue that he may commit metaphorical suicide by choosing to help Endeavor. If we want to continue pursuing the Icarus narrative: then even after falling and after gaining his freedom, Hawks chooses to head towards Endeavor, or the sun again.
So as you convey, this is the controversial page.
“Even if what Dabi says about the Todoroki family is true... I know things are different now.”
The inclusion of Hawks’ memory of Shouto and Endeavor is very, very important here. It appears in the middle of this sentence. I’d argue that Hawks here was not brushing off or ignoring what happened in the Todoroki household, and again this is mainly because of the inclusion of the memory which happens during the Endeavor Internship arc. This is how he is thinking through the situation. Seeing as we get a glimpse of Hawks’ past memories, I’m sure that he has been contemplating about everything that was revealed by Dabi. Especially considering that Hawks most likely can relate to Touya to a certain extent.
Hawks’ hero career involved a lot of him having to collect information, analyze information and reach a conclusion in order for him to act upon it. Perhaps that is why when he states, “I know things are different now,” it comes off as very bold. I think the boldness of his statement is what may have upset people but I think it has to do with the way he’s been trained to think.
The secret missions Hawks had to undertake while working for the Hero Public Safety Commission required one to detach their job from their individual feelings and thoughts. He must not let sentiments get in the way.
Sentiments
As always, I like to include definitions of words I find very important that could be understood differently based on who you are - what are sentiments? A couple definitions that come up in the dictionary are:
1) an attitude, thought, or judgment prompted by feeling, 2) an idea colored by emotion (Merriam-Webster) and 3) exaggerated and self-indulgent feelings of tenderness, sadness or nostalgia (dictionary)
We see that feelings and emotion get in the way with his job when Hawks confronts Jin. Hawks had a connection and relationship with Jin that he did not have in his life. As we see below in Chapter 265 even Dabi points this out, “Looks like sentiment tripped you up after all, hero!” Yes, ultimately Hawks takes Jin’s life but I do believe he was hesitant and did not want to. The dialogue between the two has Hawks expressing that he believes that Jin is a good person who was dealt an unlucky hand in life.
Tumblr media
While he does convey that he wants to “save” Jin by helping him but after already assessing the threat he believed Jin posed and with the arrival of Dabi, Hawks weights his options and chooses to take his life.
From a detached, cold reading of this scene, Hawks does mess up. His hesitance distracts him and makes himself vulnerable to Dabi’s attack which badly burns him, and he loses a large portion of his feathers.
Now I’m only going to focus on the fact that Hawks takes Jin’s life and the thinking that went behind it. I’m not here to discuss in depth about my thoughts and opinions on the matter however I think by the end of this post, you may have an idea on where I stand.
What is a hero?
Okay, my wording here is confusing but I’m going to try the best I can to convey what I’m trying to get at. There is also the idea of the two concepts of heroism that float around the manga: 1) working as hero as an occupation and being able to fulfill that role, and then 2) one who we label as a hero/heroic in how they think and act. For both we think of saving, strength, power, charisma, etc.
Then there are the other qualities we tend to associate with the second concept of who/what a hero is: being selfless and compassionate, having moral integrity, showing concern for others no matter who it is and being understanding of others’ perspectives. There are others as well but these are what come to mind at the moment.
While the qualities I list above can be associated with heroes in general, in BNHA there has been an effort to differentiate at least two different concepts of heroism. The biggest example was with the introduction of the character Stain. If the reader had not been questioning hero society beforehand, Stain told us directly to think critically and refrain from being passive like the characters in the story. Due to the emergence of quirks, there were those whose quirks deemed “unacceptable” by society, their existence often leading to a difficult life or being  labeled as a villain. The demand for heroes created the concept of the hero as a job.
And so heroes became celebrities. They are rich and influential, and they cover the cities with their faces to sell and endorse products. Even the physical copies of the BNHA manga have ads of various pro-heroes selling products in the back. There’s plenty of other criticisms that you could talk about such as the Hero Billboard Chart.
While the older pro-heroes seem to have lost or never embodied the meaning of what the reader may argue as “being a true hero,” we see that there is a difference with the students, but first let’s go back to Hawks and Twice again.
Tumblr media
Yes, Hawks attempts to save Jin but the outcome is that he takes his life instead. Definitely not what the act of saving is supposed to look like. As seen above, Hawks had already verbalized that he may have to kill Jin. I’ll also throw in that I felt like Hawks was looking down at him in pity (like he does with his parents) and determines that Jin is need of saving. Hawks reaches that conclusion himself. But that is not what happens. Instead he decides that the death, or “sacrifice” of an individual is worth it if he can save hundreds or thousands of others. In this way you could argue that he has successfully acted to fulfill his job as a hero. But, as many people were wondering:
Aren’t heroes supposed to save everyone?
Perhaps one of the defining qualities of a hero is that they chose to save indiscriminately or most importantly, whoever they can reach.
In the same arc we get Midoriya who is faced with a very similar situation. Shigaraki poses as a significant threat to the heroes and the rest of Japan. Midoriya knows that Shigaraki can wipe out all of those he holds dear to him and the rest of Japan if he is not stopped. Midoriya sees firsthand Shigaraki’s terrifying and destructive powers, his friends, teachers and allies being critically injured. He is with the knowledge that the people in his life and millions others may lose their lives.
When faced with such a horrifying outcome, would stopping Shigaraki be enough? I’m assuming that taking his life would have been a very tempting option. To take a life to save millions of lives.
But even after all that we get this page spread of Midoriya’s final thoughts before he loses consciousness at the end of Chapter 295.
Tumblr media
Midoriya chooses compassion.
The juxtaposition of Midoriya’s thoughts and image gave me chills when I first saw it. We see the outcome of the conflict: a quiet, lifeless city in ruins with the dust in the process of settling. This is the result of Shigaraki’s destruction. The reality that there are thousands of civilians who got hurt, are critically injured or even dead hangs heavy in the air. When society chose to ignore Shigaraki and the heroes chose to label him as an evil, unredeemable villain, Midoriya has chosen to look directly at him.
Based on the first concept of what a hero is/does according to hero society, Midoriya dues not fulfill his duty as a hero after failing to defeat Shigaraki, however based on the second concept because he chooses compassion he has begun to embody the ideals of who a hero truly is.
Hawks is tripped up by sentiments but acts to finish the job the way he sees fit.
exaggerated and self-indulgent feelings of tenderness, sadness or nostalgia
He tries to be compassionate and understanding but isn’t. He has an image of Jin he created himself that is not the true Jin, hence why they are mere sentiments. He chooses to focus on his mission because he does not actual understand how Jin was feeling. This results in him looking past Jin’s life to protect the lives of millions of others. In contrast, Midoriya recognizes Shigaraki, the person who is standing immediately in front of him. In its purest form, to be a hero means to save indiscriminately and to save those you can reach.
Being a hero as a career in BNHA becomes tricky as it means to defeat and take down villains, and choosing who to save as Hawks demonstrates.
However to save someone like Shigaraki, Dabi or Toga (who were all let down by hero society) requires someone to take the more difficult path to reach a hand out with selflessness, compassion, and understanding. It seems that Midoriya, Shouto and Ochako will be the ones to extend their hands to them.
“Starting With my Origin”
Children often are only able to understand and grasp basic concepts. A hero is someone who saves you, or puts a smile on your face. We get a glimpse back in to Hawks’ childhood, to that innocent concept of heroes that Hawks had.
Tumblr media
As they say, “Never meet your idols/heroes” mainly because they are not actually who they are portrayed to be. The world looks very simple when you are younger, black and white, but as you grow and experience more of life, you start to begin to see just how complicated things are. There are way more gray areas when you begin to look closely.
Similarly, Hawks does not see him in the same lens as he did in his childhood. He understands that the image of Endeavor he had when he was younger is not who Endeavor actually is. I don’t think that Hawks’ decision to want to go help him was made without thought. He takes in information and contemplates on it until he makes a conclusion. For someone who was actively seeking out more information, I’m wondering if all he has is what Dabi has stated. We have to remember that the information we have as the reader is not the same as the characters in the story. I’d also argue that he is not ignoring what Dabi has said but taking into consideration the past and whether Endeavor is working to change.
Now that he is most likely no longer working for the Hero Public Safety Commission, he is free to do as he please, and as seen earlier, he chooses to walk towards Endeavor. The team up between the two in Fukuoka, and the ambush against the League of Villains and Meta liberation army may have strengthened their relationship but Hawks wanting to help Endeavor this time does not stem from hero work.
Wanting to help Endeavor will put him directly on the path towards Dabi.
Like you, some people believe that he may as in consequence for his actions, he will ultimately crash in to the ocean like Icarus, and die. The final fall. Perhaps his mistake will be that he will choose to pick Endeavor over Dabi, or find himself in a position where he may believe he has to take Dabi’s life away as well.
Others believe that Hawks has had his Icarus fall already but will learn from the consequences of his actions. He’s died, but has been reborn like a phoenix. Shouto will be meeting Dabi again as well, and as we’ve seen, like Midoriya, he sees Touya as a person: his brother. He even identifies himself to him. I’ve seen people talking about and hoping for a team up between Hawks and Shouto so we’ll see what happens if they do.
Tumblr media
I’m going to bring the very last page back, but most of Chapter 299 has to do with Hawks’ childhood. His mother would ask him about why he was born and what the point of his wings were for and Hawks’ answer is to save people.
“Starting with my origin, so to speak... Endeavor’s in trouble.”
We get a focus, visually to Hawks’ back. The origins of what allowed Hawks to save and be a hero: his fierce wings quirk, and it looks his wings are healing and growing back. I think you could also see it as him referring to Endeavor as well. The hero who saved him when he was a child, could also be seen as his origin.
Tumblr media
During the High End vs Endeavor fight in Chapter 190, we see some of Hawks’ insecurities. Hawks is/was insecure about his back, and that is where his wings are. This was during the time when Hawks was working as a hero because it was his job. He did have that desire to save people but it was only a muted motivation behind what he did: he worked as a hero as a job first. I’m wondering if things have changed.
Putting this all together, I think I’m currently leaning towards the second possible outcome from what I listed before. If Hawks can go back to his origin and become someone who tries to embody the true heroism. Of course he’ll stumble but it’ll still be a drastic change from how he had been living before.
While I understand that many people are upset about these panels, I think we have to wait to see what will happen. To be honest, while I’d personally prefer the second outcome, I think I would be satisfied with either outcome.
As the reader, we certainly can argue that Hawks is a tragic character however I’m not sure if Hawks considers his life as “tragic.” I think he will continue to do what he can as I feel like he defines his purpose based on what he does.
So will Hawks be tripped up on sentiments again, or will he be able to think and be understanding like Midoriya?
As for now, I think it may be the first.

Dad Snipe AU (because I can)
Okay, listen. Just...just give me a second to explain myself, okay? Great, thanks.
So I love parental All Might stories, and stories where Aizawa becomes a dadzawa for his problem child (which leads to Present Mic also becoming a paternal figure for Izuku, which is a blessed idea), and all of those. But you know what I love even more?
If all of that happens, but Izuku’s dad is actually Snipe. Yes, Snipe.
Let me explain the story in my head, because it’s a doozy.
-So, to start, let me explain how I got the idea. It’s simple, really- canon hasn’t given me a reason not to get the idea. I mean, we’ve yet to find out Snipe’s real name, so it’s fair game to call him Hisashi Midoriya until Horikoshi himself rips this idea out of my cold, hopefully not dead hands.
-We also never see his face, and the dreadlocks could either 1. Be a wig or 2. Just be his hair, but the blue-ish shade is what caused the darker coloration for Izuku’s hair. Who knows anymore, the world these heroes live in is a really weird one.
-Now, Snipe may not breathe fire, but shhh. Maybe Inko was lying to the doctor or something, because if she said, “My husband can control the trajectory of any and all of the bullets he shoots”, well, that could’ve given away the identity of her husband! Maybe the Midoriya family doesn’t want to broadcast who Hisashi is.
-Also, having a father with such a Quirk could explain why Izuku is Quirkless (or, in this case, potentially ‘Quirkless’). It’s not like Inko would just let little Izuku play with a gun to see if he could shoot as well as his dad, or anything! So boom, the little joint test is enough, brush it aside, Dad!Snipe explanation over.
Got it? Great! Now, onto the bullshit story idea I came up with, or as I like to call it:
How Snipe Accidentally Ghosted his Family for a Decade, because He is Too Goddamn Dumb Sometimes.
Buckle up folks, and hold your horses a little tighter, because we’re going for a ride.
-So Snipe goes to Texas when Izuku is just a small boy, just barely a toddler. He’s really serious about his whole cowboy aesthetic, and pulls an All Might by working abroad for what he plans to be a few years, but might become five or six if he finds a good agency to work with in the meanwhile.
-Lo and behold, he does!! Nice, nice, Snipe relays the message to his dear wife Inko, lets her know that he’ll be gone for a while- but it’s okay, he plans to call her every chance he gets, make sure she’s doing well with their little boy, and life will be good.
-Things, uh...don’t go as planned.
-Snipe blames it all on a snake. A goddamn snake that decided to hide in his goddamn boot. There was a snake in his boot, what was he expected to do?
Probably not throwing his phone at the thing, breaking it, but uh...Snipe panicked. A lot.
-No problem, right? He’s a Pro Hero, he makes plenty of money, he can just get a new phone, plug in his old number, and all of that stuff. Easy as can be.
-Haha...no.
-Because Snipe is a fool. A fool who can’t remember any of his passwords for his phone, or the answers to any backup questions.
-He’s a great hero, he’s excellent at marksmanship...but the man just can’t remember these things to save his life.
-He can’t even remember his wife’s phone number to call her about it (and beg for the passwords because he just can not manage to recall them)
-Snipe is just glad that Inko is the one who set up his bank accounts so he’d automatically send money to their shared account, or else he’d feel awful.
-Figuring that the best thing to do in this situation is to just keep on truckin’ along, Snipe continues working at the Texas agency until it’s time for him to head back home.
But the fun doesn’t stop here, because…
-By the time Snipe yeehaws his way back to Japan, that man realizes that he can’t even recall what his address was.
-He ends up working at Yuuei, because he was aimlessly wandering around, trying to find Musutafu.
-By the time Nedzu finds him, he’s so embarrassed that he just...can’t bring himself to admit that he forgot literally everything he needed to get back to his house.
-The conversation for the job starts a little like this…
Nedzu: Why were you wandering around Yuuei for over forty minutes?
Snipe, unwilling to admit that he couldn’t remember if he had to go east or west to reach his house: I saw a little doggie. Very cute.
Nedzu: That was probably me, but I digress.
(For the record, Snipe had to go south to start his route home…)
-Some good news: After working at Yuuei for a few years, he finally sees his boy again!!
-Some bad news: it's the USJ attack
-Snipe bursts into the USJ, sees that green haired silhouette and just knows it is his boy, even if it’s been somewhere around a decade since he saw his little sprout and his boy is now stronger and taller.
Snipe, seeing Shigaraki about to hit his child: Villain, you just yeed your last haw
Snipe: shoots Shigaraki in the hand.
-After USJ, we have more fun, with some lovely dialogue I came up with like:
Snipe, sitting with Aizawa: So, hypothetically of course, if I was to say something like, I don’t know… ‘You’re in charge of my long lost child, who I couldn’t get in contact with ‘cause I couldn’t remember mah wife’s phone number’...how would you recommend starting the conversation with him?
Aizawa, mummified, tired, and already realizing that this child is the problem childTM: I need a drink.
Snipe, a fool: Are...are ya sure I should start off with that?
-Despite this totally hypothetical conversation, it isn’t until finals that Snipe brings it up.
-Nedzu pits Snipe against Izuku and Todoroki, and it’s beautiful.
-Snipe pulls an ‘I am your father’ moment like in Star Wars, both Izuku and Todoroki promptly flip their shit.
Snipe: Izuku, I am your father.
Izuku: I thought you were dead!
Todoroki: I thought you were All Might’s child!
-Needless to say, the fight ends quickly, because Izuku goes a little feral.
Izuku, pinning Snipe to the ground: What excuse do you have for ghosting mom for years, huh?
Snipe, sobbing: I forgot my phone number!
-Izuku drags Snipe back to the house once finals are over.
-Inko...isn’t even surprised when she hears what happened.
-She just sighs and goes, “Do I need to tattoo my number onto you, Hisashi?”
-Snipe wonders if it’s worth the potential security risk, he doesn’t want her getting tracked down and hurt after all.
-There’s a long conversation about microchipping Snipe, so if he disappears again, Izuku can just hunt him down and drag him back home again.
-And voila! Snipe is reunited with his family, the dad fluff can commence.
Snipe: I’mma give him a gun.
Inko, tired: At least he’ll be hurting others instead of himself for once.
-1-A is horrified.
Their precious green bean, wielding a gun?!?!?!?
-It’s made worse when he’s a natural at it, just going feral and having fun with his dad.
-Finally, because I promised more parental figures along with actual, biological Snipe, please consider:
-All Might getting upset because Snipe is stealing ‘his boy’.
Aizawa, trying to be reasonable: All Might, Midoriya is literally Snipe’s child.
All Might, petulantly: But...but he’s my boy.
-For extra humor, make Aizawa also feel like the problem child is his problem child for extra parental jealousy.
-Need more chaos??? Yamada thought he and Aizawa were adopting Izuku for some reason.
Don’t ask how Yamada came to this conclusion, but he is heartbroken when he finds out his almost completed adoption forms were for nothing.
Yamada, sadly: I thought Inko was his older sister...and he didn’t even have a dad!
-Just...Izuku having a dumbass dad and the other potential dads being put off by the realization that Snipe, Snipe, gets actual Dad Rights but somehow lost contact for like...10 entire years.
-Okay rant over, bye.

Chapter Eighty-Nine: Back in the Field
You looked in the mirror again at your new winter uniform. It was hard to believe you were already back in the field with Heart of Hearts, but after a small amount of paperwork and a signature from Aizawa, you were already back in the Endeavor Agency locker rooms.
It had turned out your winter hero costume had already been in the works right before you’d been removed from U.A., so after some searching, they were able to locate the upgraded version before it was torn apart for scraps. The costume itself had the essence of the original, but a lot of it had changed with the coming of winter. Due to needing the least amount of material near your head to use your quirk effectively, the warmth of the costume came from the body part of the suit from the built-in higher neck piece accented with silver sparkles, down to the dark blue quilted padding in the bodice. There was a hooded capelet in the back that’s hood bunched comfortably near your neck with the same midnight fabric it had before. New tactical pockets shimmering with glitter had been added to the suit, but your belt, boots, and skirt remained a shiny black. The chest still maintained the “T” for Think, placed in a shiny-rimmed thought bubble. Thicker and warmer combat gloves adorned your hands, but the fingers were left out to the cold for easy access to gadgets and quirk use. Thankfully, there was a mitten option that you could flip over your fingers should you not be in combat. Lastly, your blue visor had minimum tactical changes, aside from the addition of thin light-blue fuzzy earmuffs that were detachable should they get in the way. You were surprised how movable the costume’s fabric was with all of the winter additions. In fact, you felt freer to move in this stretchy material.
As you exited the locker room, you spotted Shinso and Heart of Hearts chatting with Shoto, Bakugo, and Midoriya. Well, Shinso wasn’t actually talking. He was more or less giving Bakugo long sarcastic looks. Their costumes had not changed nearly as much as yours. The major difference for all of them had been more fabric, especially near the neckline.
Heart of Hearts, on the other hand, turned to you in a brand-new winter hero costume. Her normal dress was edged with light pink fur which matched her fuzzy ear muffs. She wore heavily knitted stockings laced with hearts. Her high-heel combat boots even had fur and fuzzy balls dangling from the laces. The whole ensemble was perfectly finished off with a bright red capelet also fringed with fur on the oversized hood.
“There she is. We were about to send a rescue team in there to check on you,” Hearts said teasingly. She scanned you over with her vibrant pink eyes. “It’s good to see you back in action, and in such a transformative costume too.” She smiled brightly at you.
“Sorry, it took some time getting on all the new accessories. They really decked out the new costume,” you said.
Bakugo’s vermillion gaze stopped on you. “At least they dumbed down the sparkly shit.”
“Kacchan, that wasn’t very nice,” Midoriya said.
“I wasn’t talking to you, you damn nerd,” Bakugo snapped.
Deku frowned, but he didn’t give him a retort. He looked you over, grinning as he spotted the new gadgets. To no one’s surprise, he began geeking out about all of them. His ramblings rolled into one another, earning an eyeroll from Bakugo, but you allowed him to circle you with interest and enthusiasm rolling off of his tongue. Lastly, he went for your hood, turning it this way and that. “What is the tactical advantage for the capelet? Does it allow you more space to use your mind quirk?” It wasn’t until Deku pulled the hood a little too hard, making you squeak in surprise from the sudden jolt to your neck, that Bakugo swiped at him.
“See what you did, Damn Nerd! Keep your hands to yourself,” Bakugo scolded him.
“I’m s-sorry, Think! Are you alright?” he asked worriedly.
“I was just surprised,” you said, laughing lightly.
Deku let out a sigh of relief. “Oh good.” He rubbed the back of his neck, blushing. “I got a little too excited about the new suit.”
A hand smoothed down the back of your cape, as light as the touch of a ghost. You nearly jumped out of your skin, finding that Shoto had somehow appeared quietly behind you.
“Be more careful, Midoriya. You have to remember that not everyone appreciates as much attention as you give All Might.”
Deku’s blush deepened. His eyes widened. “I-I… You don’t have to call me out like that, Todoroki.” Midoriya leaned forward. “Especially while we’re at our work-study with Endeavor.” Deku glanced at Heart of Hearts warily. “Ah, sorry Hearts.”
Hearts shrugged, smiling. “Ah, it doesn’t bother me to talk heroes.”
“My father has to realize he’s not the only hero. Despite him being number one, he could be knocked down the hero ranking at any time. I’d prefer we discussed his competition rather than All Might, due to his retirement, however. It should become more entertaining should my father actually appear,” Todoroki stated dryly.
Hearts blinked at him for a moment, holding back a nervous laugh. “Always the joker, Shoto. But, unfortunately, your father won’t be joining us today.”
“Heh? What are you on about?” Bakugo asked.
“Endeavor had to take care of something on a solo mission, so you are all stuck with me,” Hearts said.
“I’m pretty sure the last location that I saw my father was in his office. Unless his mission is extra paperwork, he should be available to patrol with us. We wouldn’t want to burden you, Hearts. Five is a crowd,” Shoto said.
“This is my job, Shoto. It is not a burden. It’s a privilege to work with upcoming heroes like yourselves.”
Bakugo crossed his arms over his chest. “First, Endeavor pawns us off on the green fire chick, and now you? This is such bullshit. I joined this agency to work with the number one Pro Hero, not his sidekicks.”
“Actually, you were able to join this agency so I could spite my father. I refused to join without both of you,” Shoto corrected.
“I think my own merit surpasses any stupid ploy you have against your old man. So, do you want to run that by me again in a way that I don’t want to blast you, Icy Hot?” Bakugo asked, nostrils flaring in annoyance.
“Do you need me to repeat it?” Shoto looked confused.
Shinso scowled at the two of them. Hearts watched Shinso carefully but had yet to say anything in her own defense to Bakugo’s egregious statement. The way he so blatantly had disregarded Hearts even had you uncomfortable. Just as it looked like Shinso was going to butt in, Midoriya raised his hand.
“Actually, Kacchan. Heart of Hearts is not just any old sidekick. She specializes in mind related quirks, and she has been assigned to take care of most of if not all espionage related missions. She has a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, including hand-to-hand combat training, interrogation techniques, and stealth tactics. I think it would be imperative for us to at least spend a day with her,” Deku blurted. “If you don’t mind me saying, ma’am, it is an honor to meet you. You used to work with Aizawa in your early days, right?” Deku bowed toward Hearts.
“Kiss ass,” Bakugo grunted under his breath.
Hearts appeared genuinely surprised. She scanned over Deku with a hint of horrified curiosity. She cleared her throat. “Well, it seems my hero work precedes me. Not sure how I feel about a student knowing so much about my overall background, considering I am supposed to be more on the down low.” Hearts winced a little, ruffling her pink bangs with her white glove. “Hearts is just fine. Ma’am makes me feel old.” She put her hands on her hips. “And, if you don’t want to run with me today, go ahead and take the next train back to U.A.. I don’t babysit whiny brats, and I don’t have time to double back for slackers.”
Bakugo straightened and scowled at the word “slackers.” Shinso had effectively calmed down following Deku’s explanation. You couldn’t help but consider Hearts’ long pause to respond as a test for Shinso. He had been letting his emotions get the better of him lately, whether that was the lack of or not. She’d tested him like this at the beginning of your training as well. Your attention drifted back toward Hearts, who was patiently waiting for Bakugo’s response.
“Whatever. Just get on with what we are doing today,” Bakugo grumbled in response.
“You could say please.” Hearts pursed her beautifully rouge-painted lips. She stood at her full height again, towering over the five of you. “We will be going on a stakeout.”
Deku’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Bakugo rolled his eyes. Shoto and Shinso didn’t say much of anything in response. It finally hit you that you’d be back in the field. If your nerves hadn’t been getting the best of you before, they were now. A stakeout shouldn’t be all too dangerous, especially compared to patrol. It didn’t keep you from trembling at the thought of fighting off villains so soon again.
Your arm was brushed by someone else’s. You turned your gaze up to meet Shoto’s heterochromatic eyes. His fingers brushed yours next, and he hooked his pinky with yours on the way by, tugging it gently, before his touch left you. You blushed, forgetting about your tumbling thoughts. Your shaking settled.
“It sounds like we will gain some good experience on a stakeout,” Shoto said.
“I thought so.” Hearts smiled widely. “Plus, I figured with our new winter costumes, we would have the tactical advantage of stealth.”
“Your costume is literally white and light pink, Hearts,” Shinso pointed out.
“So negative, Mindjack.” Hearts slid her fingers toward her wrist. A press of a hidden button on her bracelet later, and the colors of her costume dimmed and faded to a muted gray scale. “Lucky for the rest of you, your costumes are naturally darker.” Hearts eyed the sparkles on your costume. “It shouldn’t really be a problem regardless. Our intel seemed like a long shot. That’s why I think going on a stakeout to this abandoned warehouse will be good practice.”
“If there isn’t a threat, don’t you think this will be a waste of time?” Bakugo asked.
Deku, who had been transfixed by Hearts’ suit’s change in color, frowned at Bakugo. “If there was an immediate threat at the location, Kacchan, then a stakeout would hardly be necessary.”
“What’s wrong, Blasty? Afraid we’d be better at being quiet than you?” Shinso antagonized Bakugo.
Hearts gave Shinso a sharp look, and his mischievous smile faded. Bakugo’s nostrils flared, but he’d gotten used to not responding to Shinso’s direct questions to avoid being hypnotized. Hearts crossed her arms over her chest, and you were surprised to see her mildly agitated.
“There won’t be any fighting within our team while we’re out. Am I clear?” Hearts asked sternly.
The group nodded with varying forms of hesitation. Hearts sighed.
“Internal fighting can lead to mistakes. Mistakes lead to injuries. Injuries lead to accidental deaths,” Hearts’ tone became stricken with grief. “It would be wise to remember that the heroes are on your side while in the field. You may think that you can take on the world by yourselves, but I have firsthand experience that would suggest the exact opposite.”
You considered her words carefully. She normally was bubbly and positive. This shift in tone revealed a much darker side to Hearts. Your mind circled back to haunting memories of past interactions with mistakes: a slip of the hand, a blast of your mind, a moment of hesitation. You winced, fidgeting with one of your belt pockets and clicking it open and closed. By the fifth snap, you realized Shoto was staring at you. You paused, smiling timidly at him.
Hearts had reverted her costume back to its normal color. The sun was just setting by the time the lot of you spilled out onto the sidewalk in front of the Endeavor Agency. Cameras flashed and shutters clicked as your abnormal team of work-study students waded through the news-hungry crowd. Bakugo took point in front of you, and you noticed that Shinso hovered to your right while Shoto stayed on your left. You gulped, flipping your hood up over your head.
“Excuse us. Can’t take questions now. Hero business.” Hearts continued to bat away comments and questions as she passed. It didn’t stop her from flashing a smile toward the press. All heroes had to keep up their reputation after all.
Once you’d all made it safely out of the firing cameras. You managed out a small, “Thank you.”
Hearts explained the mission in broken parts, warily sharing information around people. She would give out more details when there weren’t other ears to hear them. Essentially, the location was, yet again, another abandoned building. Hearts really needed to find much less shadier places to frequent. The large metal building had once been a fish market of sorts. Suspicion fell onto the place when a small row boat had been spotted near the dilapidated docks with a crudely etched sheep in the side. This sheep connected back to Hearts’ investigation into a group smuggling unmarked firearms to villains. Though the group has remained relatively nameless, this symbol led the police to refer to them as The Counting Sheep. Hearts had been gaining traction in her investigation for weeks, but she was unable to pin a hideout. The sheep symbol was the first indication that she was searching in the right places for this underground team of thugs.
Hearts separated the five of you to cover the most ground. You were not to engage, just to observe. As there hadn’t been any activity, other than the row boat in recent months, danger levels were at an all-time low. Hearts would radio in on your communicators for any extra information, but you were essentially training your patience for this mission. Stakeouts were not meant to be the most exciting part of the job.
You and Shoto had been stationed on a high vantage point, overhanging the dock. The back of the building was in clear view of your shadowed position. Hearts decided to partner with Deku, most likely to ensure that he and Bakugo didn’t get into a tiff, but also to work on his volume maintenance. When he got excited, he tended to ramble, which was not necessarily great for an espionage mission. Hearts paired Shinso with Bakugo. Their earlier interaction revealed the negative tension between them to Hearts, and she most likely put them together as a challenge for them both. Based on how Hearts had been watching Shinso’s emotional reactions, she was worried about him.
You watched the water lap gently against the rotting wooden dock below. Frigid air bled into your hero costume. You adjusted your gloves into mittens, but the wind seemed to nip at your fingertips regardless. You tucked your hands close to your chest, shifting over the concrete, intending to warm yourself with movement.
Shoto, who’d been scanning the vast expanse that the two of you were covering, turned to you. Hot condensed air clouded out in front of his lips as he exhaled. You wondered how it would feel to have a built-in heater with your quirk. You supposed it might take more energy than it was worth. Still, he looked relatively unperturbed by the surrounding cold, even as wind drifted in from the water and ruffled his hair.
“Are you cold?” he asked.
“Freezing,” you said, teeth chattering in confirmation.
Shoto’s eyes widened, genuinely surprised that you had so openly admitted it. He approached you carefully. “Here. Stand on my left side. I won’t be able to create flame, so we can stay hidden, but I can at least produce enough heat for the two of us. You may have to get rather close though. I hope that does not cause you discomfort.”
You had no intention in declining his offer as you rushed to his half-hot side. You stopped shivering long enough to actually think straight.
“You don’t make me uncomfortable, Shoto.” You blew hot air into your mittens, leaning closer to him for warmth.
Shoto clasped his hands together, dipping his head down. “I’m glad I don’t make you feel that way, but…” He surveyed the area again. There wasn’t anyone around. The only noise you could hear was the sound of the waves and debris softly crashing against the mooring. “…I have a confession to make.”
You wet your chapped lips. Your expression tensed in worry.
“I…” Shoto balled his hands into fists and then released them. His eyes were unfocused, somewhere else. “I thought my father had something to do with you being removed from U.A.. I know now that wasn’t the case, but I had my suspicions of him from the beginning.” He gulped. The moonlight reflected against his teary eyes. “I was worried it had been my fault, that I had hurt you again. I’m sorry.”
“W-why are you apologizing?” you stuttered out.
“For what I had done to you, back then. I burned you. And, it still haunts me.” Shoto bit into his bottom lip, looking down at his hands. “I had considered not working with my father when it was announced you’d been removed from our class. I accused him of the act immediately. He laughed in my face, reminding me of how distractions clouded my judgement yet again. I knew he wasn’t lying. He would have gloated about convincing U.A. staff to be rid of you if he had actually done it himself.” Shoto took in a steadying breath. “I can never forgive myself for pushing you away like that, for burning you. I thought if I pushed you away that my father wouldn’t interfere, he wouldn’t take you away. But, I scared you away from me, and I deserved it for my behavior. I hope you can forgive me for my lapse in judgement. I know that you had said you did, but I’ve only felt us drifting farther apart, which is fair based on the circumstance.” Shoto winced. “When you left, it felt like I’d lost a part of myself. I worried about you constantly. I lost focus. It felt like I was to blame for it, and, even worse, it felt like I’d never get the chance to see you again.” He looked up. His gaze finally meeting yours.
Heat rushed to your face. Tears welled in your eyes. “It was an accident, Shoto. Please stop blaming yourself. And, what your father decides to do, is not your fault either. He wasn’t to blame for my removal. He’s not a stupid man. He sees that I’m of use to him in his agency.”
A tear slipped down Shoto’s face, and panic swelled in your chest. You reached up to his face, swiping it away with your glove, trying and failing to keep yourself from crying.
“I’m sorry,” you said. “I’m sorry I disappeared. It wasn’t my choice to leave, especially without saying goodbye.”
“I don’t want you to ever say goodbye,” he said, voice wavering. “It hurt too much to not see you.” He leaned into your touch.
“I forgive you. I forgave you, and I haven’t changed my mind about that.” Hot tears warmed your cheeks before freezing against the whipping wind.
Shoto reached out his own hand, wiping the tears away with his thumbs.
“I’m normally the emotional mess,” you said, smiling abashedly. “If you keep crying, I’m going to end up being inconsolable.”
“I’m sorry,” Shoto said. “Although I’m not sure I would agree that a single tear is crying. I can’t seem to contain my facial expressions when we are alone together.” His thumb paused on your cheek, and he tilted your face up. “I missed you. I’m glad that you’re back.” Suddenly, his hands left your face, leaving behind cold.
“I missed you too,” you admitted. You missed all of them. You were so worried that you’d never get to see your classmates ever again.
“I apologize for acting inappropriate on a mission. There hasn’t been time to discuss things with you. I should not have taken it that far. I said too much.” Shoto didn’t leave you to face the cold alone, but he gave you a little bit of space.
“It was hurting you. I appreciate you telling me,” you said.
Shoto closed his mouth. Silence fell betwixt you. The wind grew louder. The water became more turbulent. Shoto gradually got closer to you to fight off the onslaught of cold. Hearts continued to check in with the two of you over comms, but there was nothing to report.
Exhaustion pulled at your eyelids. It was growing later and later without much activity. Your legs and arms felt numb. Shoto had started pacing every once in a while to stretch his legs. The cold seeped in every time he took a step away, but you didn’t complain. It was about two in the morning when you caught a shadow out of the corner of your eye, somewhere toward the far back end of the building. You squinted, hoping that your eyes weren’t playing tricks on you. The shadow was gone.
“Did you see that?” you whispered.
“No, what?” Shoto asked, turning his gaze from the docks over to where you pointed. At this point, he’d moved over to your left side. “I don’t see anything.” He leaned forward. “What did you see?”
“It was just a shadow, or I thought it was.” You focused on the far point. It could have been nothing, just a trick of the eye. You wrestled awake your quirk. Maybe, you didn’t see it, but you might be able to hear thoughts if it weren’t any of your classmates or your mentor. As you stretched out a strand of your mind, a thought picked up louder and much closer than expected.
Got you.
You shifted, ready to turn back. Your hands were already up in defense. Shoto had been watching you, but he reacted faster as soon as he watched concern flash through your expression. Shoto’s hand shot back. Warmth cradled you as he turned, holding his other arm up in protection of you. His fingers clasped around the barrel of the gun within the blink of an eye. The gun was poised only inches away from your head.
Ice crackled along the metal of the gun. The trigger was pulled. You gasped. The gun backfired, and an explosion rattled the air, eviscerating the pistol into pieces and sending the assailant backpedaling. The attacker clutched his hand to his chest. Your ears rang. Todoroki winced in pain, as he too fell back, pushing you back with him.
The two of you stumbled into the ancient railing positioned on the cliff’s edge. Your quirk steadied you both as you wrapped it around the strongest fence posts nearby. Shoto regained his balance with your help. His foot slammed into the ground. Ice spread toward the unknown attacker. The man let out a cry just as heavy frost had latched onto his skin, keeping him from getting back up. Encased in ice, he became a non-threat.
You readied your quirk for another attacker to appear, but a quick survey of the area determined that he had attacked you by himself. But, there could still be more thugs on the way. You took a step forward to search for possible oncoming danger, but Shoto turned back to you. His hands had already made it to your face. His breath was ragged, as if he were hyperventilating.
“Are you unharmed?” he asked breathily. His eyes widened as he focused on your face. “You’ve been cut.”
“Me?” You blinked up at him. He was the one that took the full force of the explosion. “I’m fine, Shoto. You’re the one that stepped in front of a bullet for me. Are you okay? W-we can’t be too sure that he was the only one. I mean, thank you for saving me, but there really isn’t time to waste.” You gulped, watching his eyes carefully examine your face. “Shoto?”
Shoto looked around as if he hadn’t heard you. He searched his costume pockets. “I only have support items for critical first aid. I don’t think I have a small enough bandage for your cheek.”
“Shoto, I’m fine.” You reached up, cupping his own face in your hands, and he froze. “We need to stay focused on the mission. There could be other enemies.”
“Of course,” he said, letting out a shaky breath. “I… I was concerned.” His hands fell away from your face, and he cleared his throat in embarrassment. “I think the bleeding has stopped already.”
You nodded slowly, stepping back. You reached toward your earpiece to speak over the comms. “Shoto and I were attacked. The villain has been subdued. Be on the lookout for more attackers.” You approached the prone man, narrowing your eyes at his uniform, which was frosted over with ice. There was a patch with a sheep on it on his left arm. “It appears he’s a member of Counting Sheep. He has a symbol on him.” You waited a few minutes, but there wasn’t a response over the channel.
“Hearts? Come in.”
You frowned, when there still wasn’t an answer. “Deku? Bakugo? Mindjack?” you asked.
“It appears the signal may be jammed.” Shoto walked over to the man shivering on the ground.
The man smirked, twisting his head back toward the building. “You heroes are so doomed. I don’t know who tipped you off to snoop around here, but it was a huge mistake. We’re not a group that you should mess with, and if you think that I’m the only member that came here tonight, then you’re sadly mistaken.”
“I don’t believe you’re in a good position to be boasting about your villainous activities,” Shoto responded dryly.
The villain’s teeth chattered. “You’ll see.” He huffed, but proceeded to keep his mouth shut. He was lucky to still be conscious after the original blast. He must have had a quirk that gave him some sort of immunity to blast damage.
You tilted your head to the side, trying to hear for any explosions from Bakugo, but you still could only hear the lapping of the waves. You were genuinely surprised no one came running when the explosion of the gun went off.
“Could you watch my back? I’m going to see if I can hear any thoughts nearby.”
“Certainly,” Shoto replied.
You spread your stance wider, closing your eyes. You reached out in increments, so you weren’t overwhelmed by all of Japan. A wave of thoughts crashed into you all at once. In the building. They were somehow in the building, already making the trade. How could you not have seen anyone enter? An image, an entrance. There was a hidden underground passageway into the building, laced with carts and remnants of rotting fish. You wrinkled your nose. There were so many thoughts to filter through, and the trade was just occurring. They’d just arrived. Why couldn’t you hear your team? Their thoughts? There were so many. Too many. Weapons flashed in your mind. Hundreds of weapons.
“Think,” Shoto said softly. “Don’t push yourself.”
You pressed a finger to your temple. “I can’t pick up on the team yet.”
You reached further, rummaging through the chaos.
Dumbass villains could have blown themselves up by attacking me at such close range like that. Why the hell is no one answering comms?
You were relieved to catch Bakugo’s thoughts. You held the strand connecting the two of you, before reaching out.
Bakugo, something’s jamming our communication. Are you and Shinso okay? you asked.
Of course we are, Big Brain. What the hell is going on? There was like ten guys on us, and the dumbasses attacked with guns and explosives. I could have blown them to bits if I wasn’t paying attention.
You didn’t necessarily have time to question what he meant by blowing them up, considering that was what he always yelled about just before actually blowing up villains, but you supposed he meant he didn’t want to kill them.
There’s a deal going on in the fish market building right now. I saw it. These extra thugs must have been sent out to patrol to make sure it didn’t get interrupted. I can’t find a jammer; there are too many thoughts, but I bet it’s in the building. You’re closer to Hearts and Deku. Can you get to them? you asked.
Get to them? Bakugo scoffed in his head. I’m going to go blast my way into that building. This night on patrol might not be a waste of time after all.
What are you thinking?! We have to make sure Hearts and Deku are safe. This is just a stakeout and information retrieval mission, not a fight.
They’re fine. You watched in horror as Bakugo’s mind’s attention shifted to the building.
Katsuki, don’t! You should wait until Hearts gives us orders!
The connection blinked out of existence. You were tossed back violently out of Bakugo’s head. You’d already pushed your quirk a little farther than you should have. Your eyes snapped open, and you peered out toward the building again. A step out forced your front leg to buckle. Shoto grabbed you, before you fell.
“Your nose is bleeding,” he said.
“We have bigger problems.”
“What do you mean? Were you able to reach them?”
“I got to Bakugo, but—”
The explosion rattled the very cliffside the two of you were standing on. Shoto grabbed you instinctively. You lifted your arms to shield your face from red and orange bursts of light. When you could finally see, your mouth dropped open. A crater-sized hole had been blasted into the side of the abandoned building, exposing the supposedly secret firearm exchange to the prying eyes of Japan, and Katsuki Bakugo had crash landed into the center of said explosion.
Hundreds of villains and members of Counting Sheep peered out from the gaping hole. Smoke billowed into the dimly lit sky. A mixture of gunfire and explosions peppered the air with cacophonous sound. The man Shoto had subdued earlier simply cackled.

Up to the clouds she flies
*SPOILERS FOR BNHA 296, LIKE MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS*
HORIKOSHI MY MOM DID NOT DESERVE THAT!! MIDNIGHT NOOOO-
god this hurts fuck, so here’s a melodramatic thousand words because Hori showed us nothing but her holding momo’s hand and this grief needs processing damn it!!!
any way Major canon character death and blood and stuff just. just take this away from me I gotta sob-
-_-
As Nemuri Kayama feels death creep over her, she isn’t afraid. Not for herself anyway.
She’s been in this situation on more than one occasion, villains have surprised her before, cornered her, beaten her within an inch of her life. She’s survived by the skin of her teeth more times than she would ever tell anyone short of Aizawa and Yamada. She has scars that very few people have ever seen, her students would never know the full scope of what her career put her through.
Well, maybe they will, now. That thought, more than anything, more than the pain of her broken bones, more than the crystal clear certainty that this is where it ends for her, terrified her. The thought that her students (her kids, her precious energetic little kids oh god oh god) will find her cold and dead on the forest floor and she could do nothing to comfort them.
She wouldn’t be able to tell Momo how proud she was, she felt the quaking footsteps of Gigantomachia cease a few minutes ago. The villains she fought felt it too, and the shrill laugh she let out as she figured out that her Momo, her brilliant little Momo, did exactly what Nemuri knew she could, had them all run with their tails between their legs.
(She’s going to be one of the best. She’s going to shine and she’s going to soar and Nemuri’s going to see none of it. God dammnit. God dammnit.)
She’s leaning against a tree, the cloudy sky, so blue and so calm, clearly visibly from the clearing she stood in. Blood from her sides, from her nose, from all over, seeps from her and stains the grass. Breathing becomes harder, and her vision grows blurry.
She’s tired. God help her she’s so tired.
(She needs to see them. Needs to wrap her arms around them and kiss their heads, needs to hear Kyouka sing one more time, needs to see Ochako settle her heart, needs to see Denki grow up, to see Tenya grow into his legacy, Katsuki’s hero name, Deku realizing his life matters, Mina dancing, Rikido cooking, she needs to see it all. She needs to see them. She will she WILL-)
A sharp pain in her side nearly makes her cry out, but she swallows it down, her last words to them will not be a pathetic scream of pain. It won’t.
She takes a few stumbling steps forward, one hand pressing against the long wound in her side. She supposes she should feel some measure of…peace at being able to do her part at making sure the mission was complete, but all her thoughts end up spiraling back to her kids.
Her kids, because that’s what they are. Not just her students, teaching them was a joy impossible to ignore, but she saw them grow, all of them. She saw them stumble and cry and be so, so close to giving up. She saw them overcome, and they looked at her with so much gratitude and excitement and…she wants just a few more minutes.
Just a bit more, please please, just a few minutes more. Just enough to see them, just to say that she’s proud, that she loves them so much.
Just a bit…just a bit…
Her legs fail her, she falls on her back, the impact of hitting the ground shakes her and sends waves of pain through her broken body, and she can’t even muster the strength to moan in pain.
She’s stuck on her back, looking straight up. Straight up at the cloudy, blue, peaceful sky.
Did she earn this? This slow, quiet place to die while tears prick at her eyes? So many other heroes ripped to pieces by some freakish monsters, so many civilians crushed in their homes, and she gets this? She gets a cloudy sky for the achievement of giving her kids a corpse to find?
It’s hilarious, in a twisted sort of way, and that realization mutes the regret and anger she feels towards herself a bit. She was taught to never feel sorry for herself, she taught her kids the same…she doesn’t have the energy anyway, no use wasting it.
She laughs, the sound wet and weak, and the tears flow freely yet slowly down her cheeks. This will hurt them, she knows, knows it in her broken bones. But her kids are tough, tougher than anyone she’s ever met. They’ll pull through, they’ll surpass this, she will regret that her last words to them would be a screaming order, but her kids are strong.
They’ll make her proud. Like always.
Breathing becomes nearly impossible, her inhales short and unstable. A pang of panic goes through her, and she uses what little strength she has left to try and calm herself. If her kids are going to find her too late, then at least she’ll be a bit…presentable. Not like she can do much else for them, anymore.
Hopefully she’s done enough. Hopefully she’s taught them enough. Hopefully Shouta and Hizashi can pick up her slack.
Hopefully Shouta will remember to pick up her cat. She knows he’s always loved Sushi. He’ll take care of him.
Thinking, God, since when was thinking so exhausting?
Her breathing slows, and her blurry vision catches something in the sky, the outline of a cloud seeming familiar…
“Kumo…?” A small smile lights her bloodied face, “…yeah, yeah okay.” She closes her eyes, and thinks back to high school, to days spent on the roof. She thinks back to one day in particular.
A day with a calm, blue, cloudy, beautiful, and infinite sky.
She asked Shirakumo to fly her as high up as he could, she told him she wanted to touch those pure white clouds. Shirakumo, in an uncharacteristic display of restraint, said he wanted to practice his quirk a little more, so he was good enough to grant her wish. So he could take all four of them to touch the sky.
He never had the chance, never had enough time to train to make that childish dream of hers, of theirs, come true.
The first time she visited his grave, she told him to forget it, that she could find her way to the sky herself.
She opens her eyes, slowly, every inch she drags her eye lids near torturous, and she sees Shirakumo’s smile in the silver lining.
She sees him reaching down to her, his head down in a mockery of gentlemanly courtesy, to invite her aboard his cloud. He never forgot that promise.
Nemuri Kayama, feeling as light as air, her body whole and young as she was that long gone high school day, meets him half way.
Together, they reach the sky.
(She hears footsteps somewhere to her left, muffled, and uses that last vestige of strength to whisper, “I love you”, to the empty forest air. She doesn’t get the chance to hear Momo’s gasp, Mina’s scream, doesn’t hear Eijirou and Rikido chock on the air in their throats.
But they heard her, just barely.
Just barely.)
Mina grasps Midnight’s hand as she shivered and shook, and sobs as she feels what little warmth in her teacher’s hand vanish.
A cloud shadows the clearing for a long moment as she and her friends wail, for longer than it should though they do not notice, and then floats on.
