On behalf of all the wonderful and talented artists out there, please reblog their art. This goes for any kind, whether it’s traditional or gif sets or fanfic/stories. They’re all art. Let me give you an example that just. boggles my mind. 

^^ This is the ratio on an absolutely stunning piece of fanart. The total “notes” is over 30k, but just look at the reblog to like ratio.... (i’m not including the artist in case they don’t want to be mentioned)

Idk if it’s a lot of new users that have interacted with the artwork, and so they haven’t grasped or learned yet that Tumblr lives and functions purely on reblogs. Likes don’t do shit here. Reblogs are what help spread artwork (and other types of posts as well).

If you’ve ever thought or made a post about, “gosh, where have all the artists gone?” Well this is why. People aren’t reblogging on the website that is meant to reblog. The entire point of Tumblr is to reblog, which helps create and support so many different fandoms and communities. 

If you love and want to keep seeing art from wonderful artists, then support them by reblogging. Engage with the art you enjoy.

Honestly at this point I just want tumblr to fucking ACKNOWLEDGE the bot problem, at least. It almost led to the downfall of this site once, when they pretended they weren't The Problem and blamed the app's questionable status on queer blogs instead, are they really going to let the site just be completely overrun by the fucking things the second people are ACTUALLY looking at this platform again???
