The more I watch Sunny, the more they come across as if, for a very long time, she's had this fantasy of living a life of luxury and having every want and need taken care of, except that this fantasy is being filtered through how a child would conceptualise it e.g. everyone wearing specifically crowns and feather boas.
Now, they have a father figure who is very willing to do everything he can to fulfill that fantasy, and to an extent already has (golden crown, golden rooftiled train house, gets almost everything she asks for). I can't wait to see how their character develops as a result of their relationship with q!Tubbo, and how the realisation of that fantasy affects their view of what they actually want.

Belphegor brainrot...?
I wanted to put together all crumbs about Belphie just like I did with Asmo.
We know Nilfheim is a something like a military hive mind. Nobles use swords or other melee weapons (the scythe is somewhat included in this), and since consistency is usually maintained, plus Bathin has a uniform resembling a soldier (we will talk about uniforms later), let's very roughly assume that it is, to some extent, a knightly country.
Tumblr media
Okay I'll be honest, I'm just amused by the idea of Belphie as a mixture of Sleeping Beauty and a knight on a white horse lol.
I don't have a screenshot unfortunately, but Satan during Halloween event said Beplhie don't like tedious work (even if it's just a signing.) Expected. He's embodiment of sloth after all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually, I can relate.
It looks like Gusion and Bael could shake hands. But Belphie is there, he really does a lot when he's out of his cave. It is not without reason that it is said that lazy people are the best employees because they will get the job done in the fastest way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looks like his Majesty is flirty! A big point in my opinion, because for me he seemed cold and distant. I was afraid that we would be too similar to Leviathan, but I guess that's not the case.
Tumblr media
He doesn't sound like this decision bothered him at all. I don't know how to interpret it, so I leave it here out of chronicler's duty. And to please the eyes, look at my pretty boy!!!
But... that's it. That's all. So, I have found a related topic to rabmle about.
Nilfheim boys what's wrong with you?
We only know two, only recently three of them. Gusion, Bathin, Andrealphus.
And I guess they have a different definition of military than us.
Two of the three are like, "hey, have you seen that unicorn in the green cloak? This one who is never in his country? Great idea!" and yeeted themselves from Nilhfeim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He just. Randomly visited Earth. Because why not.
Tumblr media
Honey, you don't. Although… you're the devil. *Hands AO3* Have fun!
We are fresh from Andrea's escapades to Avisos. We know that he spends a lot of time there and from the screenshot above we also know that he doesn't really need things like his king permission to be happy.
Considering that Bathin is friends with Stolas...
Tumblr media
...aka his personal radio, I'm sorry I can't get over this lol, it is very possible that he also often visits Avisos. Beel, you are tempting nobles from the next country and you are not even in your own country.
Bathin? Andrea? I understand that in a sentence "The devils of Niflheim almost never move individually" you are the "almost". Two of the three known. A known majority. They are hopeless.
And you know what? The third one isn't any better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. Who in a MILITARY COUNTRY would wear a uniform. Well, no one normal. Let's get back to those uniforms, this time for real.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We already know that Gusion doesn't bother with such bullshit, so we don't know if what we actually see is the one times he wears something he should wear all the time. (I guess we do and he just doesn't have a jacket.)
Bathin has a uniform, but it's from Paradise Lost. It is possible that his appearance refers to this and not Nilfheim, as we know that other devils associated with foreign countries, especially Buer, but also Sitri, have appearances related to the latter country.
Andrea seems to be the most reliable. But who knows? He wanders where he shouldn't, do you think he would care about his uniform? Plus… A wing? And a halo? Exactly.
Ultimately, I would lean towards uniforms of nobles that look like hitmans. Just like someone described Andrea in the event.
Tumblr media
At least one thing is right. The devils of Nilfheim are unnaturally strong, even by their standards. We all remember how Andrea abused every angel in his path. Even the big guy who seemed to break him like a match. No, the big guy was shaking like an aspen under his feet as Andrea happily dismembered him. As we can see, Gusion's sword also proves his strength.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even some of Nilfheim's lower devils seem to have great fighting skills. Not all of them, of course. One is a fish.
We have the least information about the countries of Asmo and Belphi, but we have some coherent idea about Abaddon thanks to the nobles. Nilhfeim? Nope! Funny country. I can't wait to visit it.

So I can't get over AOT finale and after reading son many opinions, one thing that catches my attention is that it is said that Isayama is a genius for referencing Schindler's List. But the thing is: since the beginning he has been referencing different works of art.
When Eren in his titan form carries the rock on his back in Shiganshina, it is a reference (in design) to Atlas (a titan) carrying the world ball on his back.
When Historia and Eren are in the Reiss chapel, there is a reference to the representations of Jesus crucified and also to the representations of La Pieta (which at the time led me to think of Eren as the redeemer of the Eldians, but in a more twisted way. If the Eldians are the devil, he would sacrifice himself for them to free them from sin).
There are also references to Goya, like Dina devouring Eren's mom is a clear reference to Saturn devouring his son (Goya's most famous paint); but also, if you know Goya's work, you'll probably know his famous aquatint The sleep/dream of reason produces monsters (in spanish we use the word "sueño" for both "sleep" and "dream") which talks about how when humans abandon the reason and only have fantasies, monsters are created. And tbh, there was a moment, I don't know if during the 3rd or 4th season, when I wondered if AOT captured that idea: Eren has dreams, fantasies, but not reason.
And finally, don't forget Plato's Cave myth. What happens in Paradis (the Cave) is the shadow of what's happening in the continent (the outside world). As in this myth, people of Paradis lives in the cave and they only knows that reality, but Paradis reality (it is the shadows) is not the real reality (the outside world).

We got some new screenshots!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
not much to say about them, my initial thought with the Jax one was that it was a chase scene with a carriage (not the one we see in "POMNI WAKE UP IT'S TIME TO GO ON AN ADVENTURE" because that one didn't have a roof)
Tumblr media
anyway, my thought was that the pink in the background of the Jax image was the ground motion-blurring as they sped away, and that he himself was doing a smug lil taunt. But on closer inspection, I feel like with the camera angle, we would see a bit of the other side of the cake-carriage roof (as demonstrated with these two red lines. notice that immediately after the lip of the opening, it just goes straight to "ground")
Tumblr media
so idk, the image still feels very speeding-carriage-like, but I'm not completely sold on that hypothesis.

Overanalyzing Mikey's fear
This post will be a bit vague, since most of Mikey's fears are connected to an unrevealed piece of lore... but I'll try to explain it as best I can
Living on the streets, Mikey obviously had to turn to unscrupulous means to survive. You may notice that when I refer to Leo, I call him a "petty thief". But I don't refer to Mikey as such, I call him a "con artist". Why the difference? Because Mikey has morals in him. Misguided and backwards, but they are there. Leo's driving moral is survival, so he has no problem taking whatever he wants. Mikey's conscience won't allow him to do that, so rather than steal outright, he tricks people to give him their belongings. His argument? "If they're dumb enough to fall for it, then I earned it and they deserve to lose it!" So, to reiterate, Mikey has morals but they are strained due to his life on the streets.
Mikey wants to be a good person, if only for his family's sake. He wants to set a good example of what a family should be, and what better example than himself? Like the song says, "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make that change!" So, Mikey desperately attempts to be as perfect as he can. But, perfection is difficult to attain, and it brings a heavy weight on one's shoulders. Even so, Mikey has been carrying that weight since his early childhood...
Leo and Mikey have always been together, ever since Leo found his little brother in the alley. But their experiences in families has been vastly different (as we'll see in the next fear fungus update). Mikey was always the golden child, Leo the troublemaker. Mikey found that being the good kid was more favourable in order to get a family, so that was a big motivator to be perfect as well. It was never enough, though...
NOW ONTO THE LORE. In the comic, Mikey mentions "the teapot", and Donnie refers to it as "the emotionally traumatizing lore drop". I don't want to divulge too much, but I will say that Mikey stole something he never should have, felt badly about it, and when he tried to make amends, things went terribly wrong. Immediately afterwards, he was kidnapped by Draxum. But specifically, let's focus on Mikey's attempt to redeem his mistake. It failed catastrophically, which he did not expect. He truly believed that his coming clean about his misdeed would make it better, but instead it made it worse. The person he wronged? They blew up at him. They were enraged, furious! And he didn't expect that, because he was starting to think of this person as family. And Mikey had always believed that when a person apologizes, you forgive them! But his forgiveness was withheld, and Mikey was crushed by this fact. And so, he ran away... and unknowingly ran straight into the clutches of his creator...
OKAY NOW HERE'S THE BIG ONE. Sadly... I can't tell you the reasoning behind this. But let's look into the psychological aspect of it, shall we? Both Mikey and Donnie view Draxum as a monster, the most evil person they have ever known. Why? Because they both went through the same traumatic experience with him together! I think it is very interesting that while Donnie was afraid he would never live up to his father's standards, Mikey was terrified that he had surpassed them. The most evil, cruel, monstrous person Mikey had ever known told HIM that HE was "wretched, awful, evil, he told me I was a BAD PERSON". Whatever it was that Mikey did... he feels that it is unredeemable, unforgivable, even worse than the "teapot incident".
But to bring this back to a wholesome note -- because if we don't then Dr. Feelings will have my head -- Donnie helped Mikey understand that what he did was not unredeemable. He is not unforgivable. And from Donnie's perspective, Mikey is his hero, simply because he rescued him from a bad situation. More than once... but that's a story for another lore drop!

So Todd is talking to Neil about how he feels worthless because he’s too anxious to make friends and Neil is basically looking at him softly the entire time trying to convince Todd to have faith in himself. Todd eventually says “there’s nothing you can do so you can just butt out. I can take care of myself just fine” and he looks at Neil desperately because he wants help but needs him to think he’s okay because that’s how he rolls. Neil looks at him with his big gorgeous brown eyes and says “no” and Todd says “what do you mean no” and Neil smiles, shakes his head and says “no” with a smug smile on his face. This whole scene just embodies how Neil spends his time with Todd and devotes his energy to making Todd feel safe and comfortable and loved. The scene makes me GIGGLE.
~
A little something happy to lighten the vibe in here. Nah but for real this scene makes me kick my feet and scream and giggle.
Not even an analysis just me gushing.

This has probably been pointed out already but I wanna throw this post into the void incase it hasn’t been said!
So all (or maybe most) agree that Lucifers angelic form was that of a duck, hence his liking for ducks and this scene of pretty duck!
Tumblr media
And we see when Sera is floating down with Emily, she kinda looks like a bird too.
Tumblr media
(sorry for the bad quality)
Compared to Lucifers duck form, Sera looks more so like a swan or some kind of divine or royal looking bird.
My end point here is that Lucifer being a duck can be resembling of “The Ugly Duckling”, in which it turns out the duckling is actually a swan chick but was cast aside before being able to show its “true beauty”. In a way that can be linked to Lucifer since he was cast out of heaven for dreaming and wanting to do more but he never got the chance to until he became fallen.
Or it could be a pun on Lucifer being “an odd duck” which is a common phrase for being out of place.
Anyways, just a thought I wanted to share (though i think someone else may have already done this but idk :0)

Okay! So with the new case finished up I'm ready to talk into the void about it.
Starting with the fact that this case has made me reevaluate how strong Hakuba is.
Cause I have always thought of him as being somewhat strong, but lo and behold he can just lift a whole Kaito and keep him on his shoulder for several minutes (it was six pages, and most of it was dramatic deduction time, which is usually not particularly fast dialogue) without any signs of being encumbered by the weight. He does adjust position a few times (his hand moves between panels so either he's adjusting or he's rubbing Kaito’s ass, I'm eating well as a Hakukai shipper but I'll take the innocent explanation) but there’s no sweat, no wince, no commentary about Kaito being heavy. Like, yeah, a fireman's carry is an effective way to carry a person. However, the average person is still going to struggle to lift someone that's a similar size to themselves.
Also, while im sure his assertion that he was going to walk him to the police station was just him being cheeky and bantering... he didn't seem to have any intention to put him down any time soon. I'd like to think that he was waiting for Kaito to call him out on it then make his escape, but if Kaito hadn't he'd have probably kept it up till the deduction was done then walked over to Nakamori-keibu and said something like, "this is Kid by the way, can you handle him from here?"
Anyway... Hakuba strong actually? I have decided to think so.
Can I just say I love all the little faces they make at each other? All the bois, not just Kaito and Hakuba. Granted, the character interactions and shifting dynamics have always been my favorite part of dcmk.
But like....
Hakuba bending down to talk to Conan. Kaito looking to proud of himself when he pulls out the 'hey did you consider it could actually be suicide?' While Conan’s in the background like 'oh shit oh shit oh fuck'. Conan and Kaito both thinking they had Ran Convinced, but she was sus.
Speaking of sus, I think Hakuba figured Conan out.
Sure, that last page had him back off from it and be like, "You got in contact with Shinichi and had him help." And that explaination works but... its an explanation that just makes less sense the more you think about it.
Even if I give the benefit of doubt it doesn't make sense to do it the way Hakuba explained, because if Conan contacted Shinichi to help then why would Conan be acting as the middle man? It'd introduce unnecessary delay to have Shinichi hear what's happening via phone, then Shinichi tell Conan his response, and Conan bowtie it to Kid, and Kid say the lines. (Realistically speaking the way they actually did it should also have this problem, but adding a step like this when in theory its completely unnecessary to have Conan as the middle man beyond just contacting Shinichi is just going to imcrease the delay.)
That said I can actually kind of see how that could be a conclusion he reached from this interaction:
Tumblr media
Hakuba, at this point, knows that Shinichi is Kid and that Conan is helping him by supplying lines, but he hasn't figured out the details. So when he notices that Conan reacts before 'Shinichi' that's him reaching that conclusion that he brings up later about Conan being so invested that he was mimicing Shinichi’s expression and attitude.
I don't think he fully believed that, though.
Looking at the information that we know he had:
1. 'Shinichi' is Kid (and also Kaito Kuroba using his real face)
2. Conan is supplying Kid with lines.
3. The lines Kid is saying are from the real Shinichi.
4. Conan gets worked up if you say something that Shinichi would be worked up about
5. Conan has gadgets. (Hakuba is at least aware of the bowtie having speaker/microphone function, bit arguments could be made that he’s aware of the voice changer and also the sleep needles from the events at sunset mansion)
6. (Bonus) In a previous case Hattori had been upset with Hakuba being the representative 'detective of the east' but was completely fine with Conan taking that role.
I think he figured out that Conan was Shinichi, but that he wasn't certain until he brought up 'the real Shinichi' during the deduction and saw Conan begin to panic. I think he had mentioned it purely to get a rise out of Conan and see how he would react, and upon getting his answer he played along and gave Conan an out to jump on because if he exposed him here he wouldn't get the answers as to how this had happened.
And I feel like this read of is is reinforced by his final lines expressing that he understands why Shinichi/Conan would help Kid for the sake of solving the mystery because it's a detective’s nature. Hakuba gets it because he’s doing the same by helping Conan get away with his deception in hopes that doing so will help him get answers to the mystery.
Thats how I've decided to view things anyway, though it is possible that im partially blinded by my hope that he continues to be relevant.

Ok, Idk if it's just me but I can't stop thinking about the part in Anthony's letter where he asks if Ian even knows the real Ian... like, I think I'm crazy and tinhatty for seeing Ian as visibly repressed, but Anthony literally sees the exact same thing.
My very detailed thoughts are under the gifs and videos. Buckle up that's a long ass post. I put some of the parts i find interesting in the video.
First of I wanna start with comments like "oh i think Ian is emotionless he doesn't show emotions" he literally did. Watch the video. Don't just listen to his words look at his eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No no no you're not alone. The more i watch him the more I'm like damn this man has a lot to unpack. Like you can see he has so many emotions but also is hiding them. At first people were like Ian is so chill, Ian doesn't care and I'm like HE CARES?? You can clearly see he cares, you can see he's affected by everything happening around, happening TO him. He's just so closed up so withdrawn even he himself doesn't know how to react to things. Just like he said he's the most chill-unchill person. He probably has a hurricane in his mind but he doesn't show it outside. I think it's because he was alone for a long time. He was definitely more open when he's with Anthony but after watching the video I think their friendship stopped being close when Anthony started dating his girlfriend at the time. Ofc there was probably some stuff between them they're friends since 6th grade, but the strings broke and they stopped being best friends probably at that time. And probably after this Ian started to press his feelings. Cause I think he tried to talk to Anthony about that person but it backfired so he stopped it all together. At the time he probably didn't have enough close friends and after Anthony left he was just alone in his thoughts. Ofc he had partners he had co workers, friends, employees but at that point he was already in a state where "it's better if i just shut up about my own feelings/emotions/thoughts cause they're wrong they're the reason my best friend leave me" and everything else, the company, the break-ups whatever it was all his problems, he's the boss, he had to take care of everything and he had to protect his friends/company and everything. He should be the one doing it without bothering others. And that's why he's now "chill" he put on an unbothered person mask to stay strong in the game. He built strong walls around his emotions. He hide them so much that he lost his ability to show his emotions in the meantime. He's an amazing listener, problem solver, perfect boss and friend and best friend probably but he's not good to himself. His feelings are pressed, he has a lot to unpack probably. Idk if Anthony and him talk about everything (i don't think tho i don't think ian could just trauma dump) and i feel like he has to. Not just talking about shit happened before like they say in the video, no he has to talk about his feelings, how he feels about what happened, how he feels now, is he hurt, is he heartbroken. Without a filter. Like he had to leave the labels behind and idk have an open conversation with someone(probably a therapist tbh) and realize that showing emotions is not weak or wrong. And he's not alone. Maybe he felt that way before but he has friends, he has a whole family actually. I really don't believe he's an emotionless person he's just so so introverted in his emotions. And he's lost in his insecurities.
First of all you can see he's emotionally unstable already when he said let's keep going because he's either afraid he's gonna show emotions(god forbid he shed a tear) or so emotional to talk about the subject.
"I don't think I would even recognize if I was being put through emotional turmoil. This is just so sad.
"That doesn't mean you weren't being put through it, that just might mean that you're shutting things off" Anthony explained so well in this sentence.
And this part i definitely agree with Anthony. "How do you know if I'm keeping it to myself?" Cause eyes never lie chico! We can see the sadness showing from them. The fake smile thing is like. Ok yeah I don't think he's fake smiling in every smile but i think when he's actually hurt he just smiles at the person hurting him. Even in this video there are so many moments that you can see he's upset he just smiles and moves on. Not wanting to make things worse or trying to keep everything going. Don't wanna mess up again. But you can't live a life like that. You can't just accept everything anyone is giving and not have a breaking point. Idk him so idk if he had that point already or he'd have that in the future but i know if he keeps ignoring everything and trying to push them aside it's burst. (It's not about Anthony leaving this is not about anyone else I'm talking about Ian's feelings)
And the last part yeah I think we know the real Ian. Cause even if he pushes his feelings aside he's who he is. Him hiding his hurt moments is not gonna affect anyone but himself.
Also wanna add I was so so upset when he said he thought Smosh was his and Ian was just a sidekick to him and even then Ian just smiled and kept going. It's so obvious he knows Anthony felt that way at the time. He's not shocked about this. He probably had his moments about that. I'm so glad Anthony realized that Smosh is not this and that Smosh is them together. And praise him every chance he has for that.
Lastly. I was really sad when Ian said "I forgive you" and Anthony laughed with "for what?" I think this was the only moment we actually see Ian trying to show his emotions and Anthony's joke makes it go away immediately and Ian smiled and hid his emotions again with "just kidding". Again this is all me just putting my thoughts out there but I think Ian deserved an apology or at least a thank you(which Anthony probably did them in private i think) cause he fought to keep Smosh together for years alone. So there was something Anthony could ask forgiveness for. Yes it was the best decision for Anthony and his mental health and it definitely helped him. And Ian could have left with him but didn't. But if he didn't try to stay and fight there wouldn't be a Smosh to turn back to. Wow that was dark.
Anyways this is me overthinking for something I shouldn't at fuckin 2am and I swear I have a life outside this. I just love analysing shit and talking about it ok?

Okay so my favorite thing about the hunger games is that it is PRO violent uprising (we stan suzanne collins a leftist queen) and the series was so powerful that the three finger salute from the book is LITERALLY USED in uprisings in south east asia… but i digress.
Some people criticize the negative depictions of Gale and how it paints violent rebellions which is totally fair and ppl are allowed to feel that way/dislike those aspects of it but that’s not what I took away from it. What I took away from the books is that violence is essential to rebellions, but violence is simply a means to an end NOT the heart of a revolution. Revolution comes from a deep love of human life and a care for your community. A burning desire to help your people. Hope and belief that a better way of life is possible. Those things are what drive a movement, NOT a disregard for human life even though killing is part of the revolution. And I just really feel like Gale’s line about how shooting a person is just like hunting animals shows that his desire for revolution comes from his hatred and that he does have a disregard for human life, not a deep impassioned love for it.

Overanalysing the new JNJ Banner
Tumblr media
● Items on the left and right, such as the coloured blocks, are references to previous episodes.
● The line of the characters in the back may be a reference to the BFB intro(?)
● Gaty is behind Two, and also seems to have a simular expression to them.
● Other characters who are friends are close by, such as GB and TB, or Pen and Eraser.
● Speaking of Eraser, Teardrop is right behind him, looking as if she is about to attack.
● Tree looks back at Pillow, clearly dissaproving that she is no longer preventing death, and instead, causing it. This is emphasised by the fact she has Teardrop's gun.
● Fries' fries (Or chips if you're Bri'sh) have gone astray.
● Puffball seems to be looking at someone. It's hard to tell, but judging by the placement and her arc, likely Fries or GB.
● Clock is behind Winner, fanboying as always...
● This might be a bit of a stretch, but Saw's legs look kinda like an 8??
● TV has something displayed on his screen. I believe it is a slice of cake. I'm completely uncertain if Price Tag is displaying anything interesting, though.
● Naily is >w<ing. Not quite a >:3, but it's close enough.
● Marker and Bottle are climbing Bell's string.
● Pie has stretchy limbs from other renders and her BFB voting icon.

I wonder how seriously we're supposed to take the QSMP Lore Recap videos in regards to QSMP lore as a whole? Part 4 drew significant attention to q!Foolish's DNA results showing that he's biologically human, even though I feel like there's a general consensus that's a totem. The video even includes q!Foolish himself expressing surprise at being biologically human.
Like, at the time, I feel like we could brush off that moment as not everyone knowing everyone's lore. But the Recap purposely drew attention to it. Also bearing in mind the recent context of purgatory where we've seen q!Foolish's body cracking, his emeralds getting dulled, growing mould in places, essentially things that affirm that he's made out of totem materials.
It comes off as very foreboding to have so much evidence given to us that he's a totem, only to remind us right after that he's biologically human.

This. This is evil. I have to get this out of my head. PB why do you give us gold and then mock us cruelly?
Tumblr media
Overanalyzing time. Is this Satan or not?
Tumblr media
We do know that their apperance changes over time and we know this because Satan and Beel are stupid (and I, unfortunately, am moronsexual). We do know how Satan looked when he was kid.
Tumblr media
There are differences between their appearances as we know it now and their appearances as a children. Therefore, we can assume that with Solomon he may be a teenager, especially since he looks similar to the official in-game art.
Tumblr media
The other three are quite obviously visible, so we can assume that Satan is on the right (this hand is mine, I'm stroking him). And he DOES look similar to the one above. Red collar. Correct.
Honestly, even the eyebrows are not a problem, because the game is not consistent here either, see for yourself:
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I'm curious if this is intentional. Ever since WHB's announcements started coming out a year ago, I had the impression that Satan was the love child who got the most airtime. Or I'm biased. Very possible.
Angelic white eyebrows.
But.
I'm quite proud of my delusions because they are really strong but even I cannot find explain for the horn. Like. Did you stole it from Sitri or what. I've been looking through all the images for the last hour and I can't find an explanation. Especially since even on the oldest ones his horns were always straight (or at least more straight than he is).
So maybe we're dealing with a prototype that was created earlier, and after this art was made there were a change in designs and Satan got the white long hair while Sitri got the curly horn? Or maybe PB did it on purpose to make us wonder? Or maybe the artist was a shipper and this is their lovechild? Or maybe I'm exaggerating?
My brain is steaming so that's enough.
I wonder what you think about it! I choose to live in illusion. Satan's hypocrisy is too funny and we all know he would be more than capable of it.
Especially since until now loading screen comics showed our boys and had references to story, usually as a complement to the likeability comics.

I have more thoughts about the Netflix trailer for ATLA. They came to me in a dream, so you can trust that they're legit.
So: here's Appa.
Tumblr media
This is what Appa looks like. Appa has an expressive face and warm, soulful eyes. Appa's face can convey anger, fear, happiness and love.
And that is a DELIBERATE CHOICE. Because Appa is not The Creature That The Gaang Rides On. Appa is a major character who has an entire arc dedicated to him, and an entire episode focusing on what he's doing and feeling.
Now imagine that arc, imagine those scenes, those emotions conveyed by THIS face
Tumblr media
It's not a bad design. It's worlds better than the Shyamalan version. The floof is soft. But his proportions are off: his forehead is too narrow and too high, and his cheeks are too large for the new height of his head, his eyes are too small and obscured by his trademark Appa fringe, and I think that's why this version of Appa looks more like a Creature than a Character. This does not look like an Appa who closes his eyes in loving contentment when Aang tackle-hugs his floofy giant forehead.
Furthermore, as a small aside, Appa is a ten ton flying bison. This looks like a five ton flying bison at best. hashtag NotMyFluffmonster smh
Now I'm hopeful that once we see his face move and him interacting with someone, he'll look and feel more like Appa. But with the initisl design, I don't see it.
Oh and I think Momo's design is actually A+ extremely cute would cuddle, but I accidentally paused the trailer on this shot

And now I can't stop thinking about how it looks like Momo just snorted a mountain of cocaine and is flying under the influence. I'm sorry.

I may be overanalyzing this, or it may not even make sense but...

Someone freaked out and geeked out over the whole "Donnie got spore'd" post and his biggest fear and I was so excited by it that I almost infodumped absolutely everything about it and nearly spoiled an entire arc
So yeh um Donnie is like really scared of Draxum
Naw jk we’re infodumping
OVERANALYZING DONNIE’S REACTION TO THE FEAR FUNGUS
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Donnie is obviously afraid of Baron Draxum. He sees him as a monster now, less of a man and more of a creature feature out for blood. (He also looks kinda zombie-like, a reference to the fact that he is now dead.) The Draxum hallucination audibly blames Donnie for his death, but also intimates that Donnie didn’t have the guts to kill him himself.
Draxum has Raph and Leo chained by the necks behind him. They are his prisoners. But, they’re wearing the Genius Tech ™ shock collars. They are prisoners because of Donnie. Donnie was willing to bring them to Draxum, and even though he never went through with it, he still feels guilty over what he almost did to them.
Mikey is dead - horrifically dead. Beaten and battered and bloody, cuts all over his arms and legs and even his shell. He’s not a prisoner like the other two, he was tortured mercilessly at the hands of his captor. That’s because Mikey was the only one to actually be captured by Draxum, and Donnie blames himself for that. For reasons that Donatello will never comprehend, Mikey always saw only the good in him and believed in him from the moment he met him. Mikey was Donnie’s redemption arc, and because of that, he’s is the reason Donnie decided to leave Draxum in the first place. The family Donnie has now? Because of Mikey. The confidence to choose his own life? Mikey’s doing. The freedom he has, the joy, the love, every good thing in his life now? Michelangelo did that for him. So of course, Donnie treasures his little brother more than anything. But then, Donnie lets his guard down and lets his brother be kidnapped. What happened to Mikey while he was a prisoner… was Donnie’s fault. All his fault. Because, as Draxum himself stated…
HE WAS POWERLESS TO STOP IT. AS HE HAD ALWAYS BEEN. Despite his mental prowess and training, Donnie knows that he never stood a chance against his father. And Michelangelo almost suffered the consequences. People could have died, people Donnie *reluctantly* cares about could have been captured or killed, and no matter how much he wanted to help them, Donnie knew that he would never be able to stop Draxum.
Which is why he is relieved that Draxum is dead… but still feels guilt over what he did and didn’t do.
And yes this is for you, @daboyau and @boots-with-the-fur-club
