“Hey!” Bokuto yelled with a mouth full of yakisoba bread as he smacked you on the arm. “AGHASHEEE! Why did you tell y/n?”

“HAHAHAHAHAAA! Kou ni-chan how do you fail your math?” You laughed louder before indulging in your bento.

“You’re not any better y/n,” your brother deadpanned.

“You failed your English.”

It was Bokuto’s turn to laugh as he rubbed your head, messing your hair. “Hey Hey Hey! Who fails English?”

How the turntables turned.

You growled with crossed arms, stabbing that fluffy omelet your mother had packed for you in the morning. Being made fun by a simpleton like Bokuto was worse than having the whole world knowing that you failed your English.

“Ni-Chan, you promised not to tell.” You grumbled under your breath, stabbing the poor omelet again.

It was not a rare sight to see you have lunch with Keiji and Bokuto despite being one year apart. The cafeteria never failed to echo both you and Bokuto's laughter.

You enjoyed your time with the boys every lunch. But being close with the volleyball boys also had its shortcomings.

Although there was nothing physical, it is hard to mix around the people in your class. Yukie and Kaori adored you. And being the setter of the Fukurodani volleyball girls division, your senpais and teammates loved you.

Unfortunately, none of the first years were in the same class as you and the girls in your class didn’t like you.

They excluded you from games and gym sessions or group projects even when they are supposed to do it with you.

You didn't let anyone know, especially Keiji because you knew he would be worried.

So days just went by like this; lunchtime being your happiest period in school.

It was another day during gym session when the girls grouped together to play a game of volleyball, nothing new.

You sat under a tree, letting the gentle breeze mess up your hair a little as you read your book.

Just then, a sharp pain hit you in the head as a volleyball came crashing down.

You looked up at the girls who just looked at you with a slight smirk with some intent of taunting. Whether they did it on purpose or not, they surely didn't show any sort of remorse.

Ignoring the pain in your head, you took the ball in your hands before tossing it back to them. They took the ball and went back to their game. Without saying a simple 'thank you'.

You were already used to their antics by now, not wanting to get involved in their childish antics.

Unknown to you, a certain owl-headed boy had seen everything unveil before him.

"Y/n! Where's AGHASHEEEE?" Bokuto enquired as he stepped into the gym.

You smirked at Bokuto with mischief, placing the remaining of the volleyballs "Ni-chan said he's fed up with you and decided to go home first." Your other teammates laughed at your interaction with the third year captain as he pouted.

Keiji usually walked home with you and Bokuto every day, but he was caught up with some other class responsibilities and told you to head home without him.

Bidding farewell to the rest of your teammates, you packed your bags and headed out of the gym.

"C'mon y/n, let's go," Bokuto stated as he bent down to grab your wrist, dragging you along.

Your heart skipped a beat as you looked at Bokuto who had a stern expression on his face. It was undeniable that you had caught some feelings for this simpleton, his bright, cheerful disposition and very enthusiastic actions had slowly made its way into your heart.

But you'd always brushed it aside, thinking it was some phase that you would eventually get over.

Stern Bokuto was something you had never witnessed before and you wondered if you'd done something to make him upset.

"Kou ni-chan, is there anything wrong?"

That led to him abruptly halting in his tracks. He dragged you into one of the alleys and pushed you against the wall. Both of his hands were on your shoulders as he bent down to meet your eyes.

The gray moonlight carved out his features and you could still see the small droplet of sweat trickling down his temple and his lips were inviting.

You swallowed hard, knowing that now is not the time for you to act on your raging teenage hormones.

"Y/n, the girls in the afternoon, who were they? Why were they treating you like that?" Bokuto immediately asked, his gold eyes never leaving yours.

You broke eye-contact, looking to your side guiltily. "Ah, they... It's nothing."

"Does Akaashi know about this?"

"I am Akaashi." You let out a nervous chuckle. This was definitely not normal Bokuto and you had hoped that he would just drop this matter.

"Y/n." He warned. "Who are they?"

"They're irrelevant people, don't bother about it."

Even though they brought some inconveniences to you, you weren't bothered by them at all. They were insignificant and you have loving senpais and teammates who cared for you and a doting brother. That was more than enough.

"Y/n, who are they?" Bokuto continued to press on. You squirmed around uncomfortably, tears starting to well up in your eyes.

You aren't the type to cry about such minor things, so it left you completely baffled as to why you were tearing up. And then you realised.

All the pent up frustration that you had brushed off casually, the bitter feeling of being ostracised. You had put away the fear because you couldn’t face them and now that there’s an audience, everything came crashing down.

Bokuto snapped out of his stern focus on you when he noticed beads of tears spilling out of your eyes like a waterfall.

He immediately stepped back and looked around flustered.

“Y-Y/n… I’m sorry! Please don’t cry!! Please!” Bokuto shut his eyes tightly and smacked his palms together in a praying position.

Yet when the tears start flowing, it never ends and you couldn’t stop yourself as the tears just flowed uncontrollably.

Bokuto looked around flustered, trying to get you to stop crying.

“I-I’m so sorry, I just wanted to protect you, I-I want to protect those people I like and I don’t want them to get hurt! I’m sorry!”

Both of your minds just went blank after Bokuto's sudden outburst, you stared at each other in disbelief and utter shock.

“Y-You like me?”

"Ah, uh," it was Bokuto's turn to stutter as he shifted uncomfortably while looking on the gravel floor; his face was an immense shade of red.

You cupped your hands around his cheeks, making him look at you in the eye.

And listening to your single brain cell who had convinced you to take the 'leap of faith', you closed your eyes shut as you placed your lips onto his. It was soft.

You pulled away from him, staring into his dazy gold eyes. And with a small smirk, “Me too.”

Wedding bells sounded from afar as Bokuto held you in his hands with a light squeeze, both of you exchanging your vows on the altar.

The banquet hall was filled with hundreds and hundreds of people. Of those present were the Fukurodani and MSBY members, as well as members of the national team all giving both of you their best wishes and blessings.

Needless to say, it was one of the best days of your life.

Please just let the boy move, he needs the constant movement.

When did I start watching Haikyuu: I first watched Haikyuu around 2016, and then rewatched the past thee seasons recently!

Why did I start watching Haikyuu: I can’t honestly remember much, other than I really liked their designs? I never really watched any sports anime before HQ, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I fell in love with the characters though and ended up actually liking volleyball.

Why do I like Haikyuu: CHARACTERS!!! Of course I get hyped during the games, like to an insane amount, but the personalities and backstories and relationship dynamics have me h o o k e d. I would die for these boys and I can’t think of a character I dislike off the top of my head

Manga or Anime: I have trouble reading the manga during the volleyball scenes so I haven’t read more than around 40 chapters

Favorite Episode: It’s hard to pick but Episode 8, Season 2. We get to see a soft baby Tsuki and Yamaguchi, PLUS CAT AND OWL BOYS HARASSING OUR BEAUTIFUL MOON!! I love Tsukishima’s interactions with BokuAkaKuro

Worst anime you’ve watched: Any SoA after the first. The first was okay, I liked it when it first came out and the hype wasn’t too big. It was cute, interesting, and I liked the concept. The following seasons were meaningless, annoying as hell, and they should of left it at the first.

Okay so! For general, I recommend One Piece, it’s a bit hard to get into at first but promise it’s worth it!! 

For sports anime I recommend: Prince of Stride! Alternative, you might not have seen it yet but the characters are adorable and parkour racing just looks cool??

For romance: Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, I love it so much!!

For cute but action-filled try BNHA!

For cute adorable anime girls singing try LoveLive!

If you like dark and depressing but badass and cool try Kiznaiver!

I could make a huge list of my recommendations but these are the first that come to my mind!
