I've been doing super well, got a lot of studying done yesterday (by my standards haha so like 2 pages worth of notes, but it's a lot for me I swear). It's very rainy and moody today, I'm in love with the world.

hey studyblr

hi everyone. it’s been a while.

when i first made this blog, i was hoping to inprove my way of studying, my way of learning. my final goal was to had better grades, to be the best student, to learn how to be better academically. i think that’s why i left not much later.

it wasn’t my intention, really, to leave. i still love this community, still love the concept and the people and almost everything about it. the problem was me.

i always had some issues about how much i push myself to be the better one (better student, mostly), and that always has been a problem. last year was a wake-up call in many ways, that included, and i thought having a studyblr was going to help with that. it didn’t. it was a stressful year and somehow i ended up turning this amazing space into something toxic for me, like i somehow did with school. i presured myself into being something else, something better, than i was, and that’s not bad, but i did it in a way that harmed me more than help. so i ended up staying away, more focused in dealing with the stress school was giving to me than a social platform.

since then, i dealt with a lot of those voices in my head saying that i needed to be better, better, better. better than i am, better than everyone else. i dealt with those voices saying that i wasn’t enough, that everything i did just wasn’t enough. i’m still dealing with them, and now i want to try to use this space not as a way to learn to have better grades, but as a way of learning how to get good grades and not make the process feel like hell. i think i deserve it.

so, yeah, maybe my notes aren’t always pretty or my handwriting is a mess, maybe i review before a test in spare scraps of paper and maybe i procrastinate a lot; i also may not take the best pictures, or have the best advice, or the best stationary. but i want to grow as a student, and really, isn’t that what studyblr is about?

so that’s it !! i haven’t really kept an eye on the studyblr community for a while, and i need to fill my queue, so if you want me to check out your blog pls reblog this !!!!!

blog compliment for @owlscholar : first of all, I love your icon. When I was making my tombow icons I used a ton of reference imaged and your icon was actually one of them! Also I really really really like your lettering it’s simple but sooo pretty. Your watercoloring is also really nice I wish I could do watercolor tbh. And finally I just think it’s really cool how you do cornell notes because they look so cool and helpful

My sister and I went to our city’s used book shop yesterday!! It moved across the river since we had last been there but the new location is just as cute as the old one. I ended up getting Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams (I read the ultimate hitchhikers guide but it was an old copy that doesnt have this one!!), The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien, and The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. Super intimidated by that last one haha. Anyone have thoughts on it or encouragement/tips on how to get through it?
