Marty can feel an ache inside that reminds him that they've been doing this every night. It sends a shudder of revulsion - of longing - rippling through him and he tightens unconsciously around Nelson's cock, coaxing a muted curse from the hitman.
This is transactional. This is self-seeking. This is the price Marty pays for Nelson's protection.
Marty will pay any price for Nelson's loyalty.
I feel kind of weird for writing this one but this idea has been stuck in my head for days.
Feel like I need to add a disclaimer along the lines of "I love Ben, fuck you Nelson" but I just found Nelson so interesting that I had to write this.
Set during S4EP10 of Ozark.

GOSH. goooooooosh. watching an ep of ozark and i take it back. bj would trust ruth. and he would love her oh.
oh is it weird i see a lot of them in each other. she's much more ready to use her teeth but bj admires it. doesn't really... agree with what she does, a lot of the time, but he gets it.
the leniency he gives for people just trying to survive, man. bj would get it, and he would not hold it against her or think any less of her for it. even if he's at a point where he's trying to keep his nose clean, he'd look the other way for her. might even help her, a little, as long as it was something he believed would be a one-off and wouldn't keep him in trouble.
#the female characters in this show are actually SO good. most of the characters in this show are done very well. bj'd not like most of them.#i think. he'd dislike marty actually. he'd think he's Fine but oh my lord. this dude. he is a calculator skdgshdjgk#bj gets that too but i think his one trackedness about business would irritate him. he's not a ''bad'' man but he uhhh#he lacks.... he does lack a little humanity sometimes. in bj's pov. lacks some empathy that i think makes him kind of an asshole.#he'd hate petty more than he'd hate the snells though sgjsdkgljsdklg#am i projecting? perhaps. petty sucks though. he's such a good antagonist but i have rarely actually hated a character and wanted them dead#like. skdghsjgks i don't.#i have had characters that i have not cared lived or died. but petty? i am rooting for him to die. LOL#anyway i'm rambling in the tags and this doesn't even really belong here. i just. i really wish there were ozark rp blogs bc i'd love#to write with them. esp ruth or jonah. love them.#UGH petty is on screen again. i hate him. i feel like i need a shower just looking at him. what a scumball. boo agent petty.#the actor and writing did such a good job at making him so enraging and disgusting. props to them.#....eugh petty would hire him and bj would say yes and then he'd gossip about what a scumball he is to everyone. screw that he's fbi lmao#...and then petty would have something on bj and twist his arm and bj would end up working for him neck deep in trouble u_u#but i'd have fun with it#out of fairy tales [ooc];

Things may be improving now, but the pain of having lost him for a while isn't something easily forgotten.
     Don't touch me.
Her wince can't be helped, Henry's phantom voice a cruel, frigid echo; he hadn't actually said it unkindly, and she hadn't blamed him for needing space. After everything they'd been through, coming to The Ozarks had been a bit of a shock.
Tumblr media
Yet reason isn't working right now, logic tossed aside in favor of something that will quell the aching loneliness.
The razor is cool and sharp against the skin of her thigh, the pressure of her fingers only increasing with each exhale. She'd had to wait to do this; this isn't something Henry can ever see or know about. With him out on a 'business trip' with Marty, though? It's finally safe.
He's not supposed to be home for a week — more than enough time to take care of this and heal.
He's only been gone for ten minutes, but Nancy couldn't wait anymore.
She doesn't cry until her thigh is littered with bright lines of crimson, though the tears aren't from physical pain. Everything has been agony for months, and while Nancy's done a good job of keeping it together for Henry's sake —for both their sakes— seeing him at the top of that cliff had splintered her resolve apart.
It hadn't happened instantly. The fracture had been slow, with Nancy blissfully unaware of it as she comforted the man who'd needed it most, all optimism and practicality as they discussed their options for moving forward.
     Don't touch me.
( She doesn't hear the door to their motel open, the voice in her head too loud. )
He'd said it the first night they got here, his back promptly turned to her in their bed.
     Don't touch me.
There's a cry caught in Nancy's throat, though the sound is instinctively swallowed down — with her teeth biting into her bottom lip, the razor is pressed to her thigh again —
     ❛ Nancy? ❜
—and instantly dropped, her shaking fingers numb with dread.
Oh, fuck.

This is a Katoributa; it holds a strong incense used to repel mosquitoes. Naturally, I created fakemon from it. Its evolution is based on the wild razorback.

Katorch - The Incense Pokemon
Fire/Poison
The sweat from this Pokemon is used to make strong Repels. Some parks allow Hikers or Campers to rent a Katorch to keep wild Pokemon at bay. Its flames are also helpful for lighting campfires. Thought to have been brought to Youzada from other regions, Katorch has formed a rivalry with the equally invasive Skeety.
Signature ability - Foul Stench
In the field, this ability lowers the likelihood of wild Pokemon attacks.
Evolves after learning Horn Attack
Razorch - The Bug Repellent Pokemon
Fighting/Poison
This Pokemon is occasionally seen in the wild as the result of escaped Katorch. They have been known to travel in herds of anywhere from 30 - 50 wild Razorch, and will attack anything that moves, particularly bug-types. Trainers should approach wild Razorch with caution.
Signature Ability - Fly Swatter
Physical attacks paralyze bug-type opponents.

Ozark Country RV Park, Branson, MO Day 31 Wednesday 8/24/2022
Ozark Country RV Park, Branson, MO Day 31 Wednesday 8/24/2022
We rolled out of bed after a good night’s sleep and went for the first walk of the day around the park. The little white kitty was waiting for us, and I carried out a can of cat food for it before we went walking. By the time we got back, the food was gone, and the kitty was sleeping contentedly although quickly awoke as the dogs approached.   Inside of Quatro, we had breakfast and sat and wrote…

My dear moots, newts, and other hoots:
I’ve followed a lot of new people in the last few months and been followed by new people, mainly, in both directions, by mutuals of mutuals (moot cousins? Moots in law? First moots once or twice removed?)
Anyway! I don’t do a lot of messaging (though you are always welcome to start a chat with me) but I thought it would be fun to get to know you better! So here I am digitally taking you out for coffee and pastries. Here are some things about me, it would be fun if you reblog and tell me some things about you too.
I am: Catholic (traditional); married; mom to six kids (so far) that I homeschool; a published poet and would-be novelist; a folk musician, mainly a fiddler; slowly building up a homestead with my family; a fiber artist (spinning, weaving, knitting); studied theology, lit, and creative writing in college and grad school; I love being active and outside in the spring and fall, but the heat of summer and SAD of winter wilt me every time; my roots are in the Ozarks; I love coffee with milk; huge Star Trek nerd; I love old sitcoms; I have a weakness for theologically aware vampire dramas; in favor of climbing trees; on this webbed site too much, probably.
Your turn!

Cryptid of the Day: Ozark Giant Centipede
Description: An 8 inch long centipede might not seem like something to write home about, until you realize you’re in the Ozarks, where such centipedes are not known to live. The largest centipede in North America is the Giant Desert Centipede, which, you know, wouldn’t be found in the swampy Ozarks, leading some to believe these big centipedes are a new species.

15 (+1) Questions Game
Thank you for tagging me @munson-blurbs
1. Are you named after anyone? Sure am. My mother's grandma. I even have her wedding band, and I now wear it as my own.
2. When was the last time you cried? Boy... I don't know. I feel like it's been fairly recently -- but nothing specific comes to mind.
3. Do you have kids? I do! Two little badass buddies.
4. What sports do you play/ Have you played? Oh, man. I've tried pretty much everything - gymnastics, basketball, track and field, volleyball, softball, tennis, flag football, cross country -- but the ones that stuck were basketball and track and field. I pole vaulted for my high school and college's track and field team!
5. Do you use sarcasm? Not as much as I'd like ;)

16. In place of #10: What reminds you of home (doesn't have to mean house... just things that remind you of the feeling of home)? Lake of the Ozarks, MO

Ozark s4 spoilers
So I read the Vantiy Fair interview with the Ozark showrunners, and now I’m just even more frustrated with the writing choices they’ve made. Particularly with Jonah. Again.
They said that Jonah having the final shot was meant to be him ‘coming into the fold’ so to speak. That he was the last family member to get on board with being a criminal. Which just proves that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing in season 4a, and most of 4b. In my write up of the issues with 4a, I mentioned that the problem with Jonah is that none of his actions fit any sort of motivation. One thing I specifically pointed out was that if Jonah’s motivation was intended to be that he was having a crisis of conscience (which the VF interview confirms), then it makes absolute no sense for him to be working with Ruth and Darlene. If the entire point is that Jonah hadn’t been fully indoctrinated into the life of crime, then that makes that plot line even worse.
Especially when the way they brought Jonah back to the family was by having Wendy admit that yeah, she’s been a monster, but she’s willing to put her own desires aside for the sake of her family. That basically confirms that he’s hurt not by the killing but by the betrayal, which makes the money laundering kinda make sense (she betrayed him, he betrays her) but goes against the intended symbolism of him ‘finally’ becoming a criminal at the end.
I saw a great tweet that said if they were going to focus the ending on Jonah, then they needed to focus more of the season on Jonah, and that is painfully true. Season 4 treats Jonah like a prop to be passed around, rather than an actual character, so the ending doesn’t have as much impact as it should. Freaking Sam gets more of a storyline than Jonah in season 4. The only indication we get that Jonah wants out of the criminal life entirely is one line in the finale, which also is just him being whatever they need to be at the moment.
