Bumpin' And Grindin' (Ashley Sanchez x Reader)
Tumblr media
You knew your teammates had something planned for your 25th birthday, and that something lead to you being blindfolded and tied to a chair, but who dropped down into your lap was someone you didn't expect, and that someone was Ashley Sanchez.
What happened next was something you didn't count on, the mid-fielder becoming aware of the appendage between your legs, something you'd done literally anything and everything to hide.
Now that your secret was out, how would that change the relationship between the two of you?
Disclaimer: This fic contains smut, specifically g!p smut, feel free to skip it if it's not your thing, anyway, I hope you enjoy, let me know what you think! ❤️❤️❤️
You knew your teammates had something planned, it was your 25th birthday after all, and according to them, it was a big deal.
And apparently, the plan led you to being sat in a chair in the middle of the room, blindfolded with your hands tied behind your back.
“Seriously guys, what are you doing?” You ask as you attempt to move, quickly realizing you were trapped considering your hands were tied behind the chair.
Why you’d agreed to allow your teammates to do this, you didn’t know.
“Come on.” You grunt, jerking against your restraints.
“Seriously what’s--
You fall silent as a sensual beat fills the room, the women around you beginning to cheer.
“What’s going on?” You growl, your eyes widening behind your blindfold when you hear someone coming your way.
“Just lean back and relax." You hear Emily Sonnett snicker and your brows furrow.
A second later your breath catches in your throat when your waist is straddled, your hands clenching into fists as whoever it is grinds down into your lap.
The women around you cheer as the person, a woman you suspect, rolls her hips before moving to her feet, the woman rubbing her ass against the front of your pants.
“Goddamn it.” You sigh, your hips arching slightly, thankfully unseen by those around you.
They drop back down into your lap, a soft moan leaving your lips, the hips of the person in your lap stuttering momentarily.
It’s only after that stutter that you realize you’re growing hard, the woman’s core grinding down against the protrusion in your pants.
She swivels her hips, and you whimper, the owner of those hips' breath hitching.
You grimace when the blindfold is removed, revealing a pair of brown orbs belonging to Ashley Sanchez, her lips parted as she breathes heavily.
“Hey! You’re supposed to keep that on!” Trinity chastises her friend, completely unaware of what’s currently going on between the two of you, your member resting against the woman’s core.
Her cheeks flush as she shifts, your breath hitching when she brushes against your hard cock.
“I-I-I don’t feel so good.” You stammer, leaping to your feet when Ashley is out of your lap and you've jerked your hands free.
You glance over your shoulder at the blonde who’s staring at the appendage between your legs, the woman, thankfully, being the only one who notices before you sprint away.
“Jesus, I didn’t think your dancing was THAT bad.” Trinity snorts as she slips an arm around Ashley, the woman staring at the door you’d disappeared behind.
"What was that about?” Kelley asks, turning to the former Washington Spirit player who shakes her head.
“I don’t know.”
In reality, she DID know, it was because there was something between your legs that she hadn’t expected to feel, and something you must’ve been hoping she didn't feel either.
************************************************************************You weren’t sure how long you ran, but eventually, your hotel room door is slamming shut behind you, your heart racing.
She wasn't supposed to find out, no one was, but now here you were, your biggest secret revealed to the one woman you’d rather not know it.
You hadn’t been with the USWNT long, which meant you in no way trusted anyone with the fact that you were intersex, several of your teammates from the NWSL knew, but no one on the USWNT knew and you had hoped to keep it that way.
Unfortunately for you, that was no longer the case, because Ashley Sanchez knew.
You bury your face in your hands, hoping that the blonde hadn’t decided to tell those around her about what she felt when she was straddling you.
You can feel tears slipping down your cheeks as every worst-case scenario runs through your mind.
What if you were kicked off the team?
What if Ashley told someone?
What if the media found out?
You were trembling, outlandish scenarios playing in your mind until a sudden knock pulls you out of your thoughts, your feet moving of their own accord, carrying you towards the door before you tug it open.
You knew opening the door without looking at who it was, was a mistake, especially since Ashley Sanchez was standing before you, the woman’s brown orbs locking with your Y/E/C’s.
“Can I come in?” She asks, her voice barely above a whisper, the nervousness in it making you pause.
You shuffle from foot to foot for a moment before stepping to the side and waving her in, the woman slowly shuffling inside.
You swallow hard, your back turned towards the woman as you look through the open door, tempted to sprint from the room and disappear into the night.
You knew you couldn’t do that, not to your team, and not to the woman sitting on the bed behind you, so with much reluctance, you push the door shut and turn towards her.
Her brown orbs are downcast, staring at her intertwined fingers as she wiggles in her place at the end of the bed.
“H-Hey.” You stutter, slipping your hands into your pockets, unwilling to look her in the eye.
She clears her throat, which leads you to picking up your gaze the woman patting the bed beside her.
Reluctantly, you make your way towards her, staring down at your feet for a moment before you decide to sit down.
You continue staring downwards, your gaze locked on your feet as the bed shifts beside you.
Your breath hitches when a tan hand settles on top of yours, which are intertwined and resting in your lap.
She gives your hands a squeeze.
“It doesn’t change anything.” She whispers and your throat bobs as you turn towards her, tears in your Y/E/C orbs.
“It changes EVERYTHING Ash!” You sniffle, pulling your hand away from hers as you move to your feet.
“No, it doesn’t Y/N.” She says as she too moves to her feet, the blonde approaching you, your back to her as you rest your forehead against the wall.
“It doesn’t change anything between us, I still feel the same way I did about you before I found out.” She says, her hand resting on your upper back.
“You and I both know you’ll never be able to look at me the same way again.” You sniffle, tears slipping down your cheeks.
“I’ll look at you the same way as I've always looked at you.” She whispers, grabbing your wrist and turning you around until your Y/E/C orbs meet hers.
Your breath hitches in your throat when she cups your cheeks, pushing herself up on her tiptoes so her forehead can rest against your own.
“Nothing could ever stop me from looking at you the same way I always have.” She whispers, caressing your tanned skin, your eyes fluttering shut.
A tear streams down your cheek but it doesn’t go far before it’s swiped away by the mid-fielder's thumb.
You shake your head, attempting to steady your breathing.
“What if everyone finds out...?” You ask, the blonde shaking her head.
“They won’t, and if they do, it’ll be when you’re ready.” She smiles softly and you swallow hard.
Silence envelopes the two of you before you find your voice.
“What did you mean?” You ask, nervously, the woman’s brown orbs widening.
“About what?” She asks, her voice soft, barely intelligible.
“How is it that you look at me...?” You ask, your watery Y/E/C orbs darting from her lips to her brown orbs and back.
She takes a deep breath, the woman’s eyes fluttering shut before she leans in, your eyes nearly bulging from your skull when her lips meet yours.
You stay stock still, your lips unmoving as her lips move against yours, the blonde pulling back abruptly.
“I’m so sorry, I thought...”
She gasps softly when you lean in, your lips meeting hers again, though this time, you’re kissing back.
She sighs into the kiss, her fingers tangling in your hair as your lips meet again and again.
It doesn’t take long for the kisses to grow heated, your tongue slithering into the mid-fielder's open mouth, the blonde moaning.
You knew you were getting hard, but you didn’t care, the woman’s kisses intoxicating.
Her breath hitches when you lift her into the air and pin her against a nearby wall, her legs wrapping around your middle.
Ashley’s hands slide up the back of your shirt, her fingers prodding into your back as you kiss hungrily.
She lets out a squeak when you carry her to the bed before placing her gently on its surface and climbing on top of her, reconnecting your lips.
You kiss wildly, moaning into each other's mouths as your tongues tangle, teasing each other.
You stiffen when Ashley’s hips roll, brushing the erect member between your legs, a groan crawling up your throat.
You roll off the blonde in embarrassment, shuffling backwards putting distance between yourself and the woman.
“I-I’m sorry...” You stutter, unable to look at the mid-fielder who slowly shakes her head, crawling up the bed towards you.
“You have nothing to be sorry about.”  She smiles, your eyes widening as she starts to shift.
“Ash...?” You watch as the woman slips behind you, her back meeting the headboard before she pulls you back between her spread legs.
“It’s a part of you, Y/N...” She whispers in your ear, gently kissing your jawline.
"And I really, REALLY care about you.” She says her throat bobbing as she eyes you hungrily.
“Every single part of you.” She says softly, kissing your jawline, smiling against the curve of your jaw when you lean back into her.
Ashley licks her lips, her heart hammering in her chest as she gathers the courage to make the next move.
“Including this.” She says, your brows knitting in confusion, that is until her hand settles on the front of your pants, covering your hard member.
“Ash....?” You sigh, whimpering when the woman’s hand shifts, rubbing you gently.
“Y-You don’t have to.” You say, moaning when she puts a bit more pressure behind her touch.
“I’m the reason you’re hard.” She whispers in your ear, giving your ear lobe a gentle nip.
“Now let me take care of you.” She purrs, your Y/E/C orbs watching intently as she palms you through your pants.
She gauges your reaction as her hand starts moving, rubbing the hard appendage between your legs.
You whimper, the sound making Ashley moan in response, a sound that makes you whine.
“Fuck.” You say as her strokes increase in speed, your heels digging into the bed as your hips arch upward.
“Like that?” Ashley asks and you groan, your brows furrowed, your bottom lip trapped between your teeth.
“Just like that.” You groan, Ashley’s breath hitching when you grasp her thigh.
The base of your cock begins to pulse, a telltale sign to you that you were already close.
“Mmmm.” You whine, Ashley kissing your neck as you begin to shiver.
“Are you going to come?” She asks and you nod rapidly, the blonde watching as you stiffen, a groan tearing its way up your throat as you shudder.
Ashley watches as the front of the sweats you were wearing darken, your release filling your bottoms as she continues to rub you, aiding you through your orgasm.
“F-F-Fuck.” You croak, twitching as you come down from your high.
Ashley hums, kissing your neck over and over again as you pant heavily, a satisfied smirk stretching across your face.
“God.” You say, turning in Ashley’s hold before your lips tenderly meet hers.
Her arms hanging loosely around your neck as you kiss languidly, the blonde smiling against your lips.
Eventually, you reluctantly part, your forehead resting against hers.
“I-I just wanted you to know...” You start, swallowing hard.
“I REALLY, really care about you too.” You confess, the woman smiling as she surges in, gently kissing your lips.
“Does that mean I get to touch you more often?” She whispers and you chuckle, the woman hugging you to her chest.
“Ye-Yeah, it does, as long as you want to.” You say and she giggles.
“Oh, trust me, I want to.” She says and you hum, kissing her lips again.
“D-Do I get to touch you...?” You ask and she smiles.
“Yeah, but tonight was about you.” She says, kissing your forehead, your cheeks flushing.
“Are you sure?” You ask, the blonde nodding, nonetheless, she whines when you roll out of bed.
“Hey, one of us has come in their pants, and it’s not you.” You jest, wandering to the bathroom before coming back a few minutes later in a crisp pair of boxers and clean pajama pants.
You immediately take your place back between Ashley’s legs, the woman hugging you to her chest, your face buried in the crook of her neck.
The room falls silent for a moment before Ashley giggles.
“I’m really glad our idiot friends talked me into giving you a lap dance.” She confesses and you chuckle, your words slurring as you whisper.
“Me too.” You hum, snuggling closer.
It isn’t long after that, that Ashley realizes you’re asleep, the woman smiling as she turns her head, kissing your forehead.
She simply watches you sleep for a moment, her heart skipping a beat when she realizes the feelings she had for you were returned.
She leans back in, kissing your forehead again, smiling lovingly as you smile in your sleep.
“Happy Birthday, Y/N.” She slurs softly before she too falls asleep, for once, thankful for her teammate's ridiculous and crazy antics, antics that eventually led you to where you were now, a year older and the arms of the girl you were hopelessly in love with wrapped around you.

i really hope sanchez knew she was getting traded…her and trinity not playing on the same team anymore makes me sad
The teams are required to tell players they are being traded before they are actually traded now. The only thing we can thank Mark P*rsons and Kansas City for
Literally everything about Ashley Sanchez is giving me Emily Sonnett vibes
Ignored by the national team despite how fire she is on the pitch
Traded away from her club (most likely without a choice)
Separated from her best friend
Hopefully she finds a coach and team who can see her worth in NC

Oh hey, the vibes are looking UP!!
USWNT v Jamaica
Alyssa, my god do I feel comfort when I hear her yelling and organizing. She’s my #1, hands down. I’m okay with rotation, but in a pinch, I want Naeher.
The Cook Girma combo was IT this game. Did they have an attack to deal with? Ehhh, not really. BUT, the way they were organized and directed, how they positioned themselves… extremely positive. And nothing that would give away the lack of caps or playing time together. That alone, is excellent. And the soccer IQ between the two of them… astronomical .
Sofia MOTHER FUCKIN Huerta!! Yoooooo. Her crosses and passes are so silky and just… that’s all you can ask for in a wingback. The ball to Mal which led to the cross to Trin’s goal. I was dead. Those back line destroying slip passes are my everything.
Emily Fox completely shut down Shaw. And while Shaw played incredible against Mexico and likely was a lot more tired this match, keeping her quiet is an accomplishment. Smart to keep her fresh and give that second half break so she’s good for later games.
Sonnett might have had the best performance at left back I’ve seen. I’d say it’s typically the defensive position she’s least comfortable in. What’s huge with her is stepping to 50/50 balls and when she judges those correctly, she’s not losing that tackle. Incredible diagonal ball to Sanchez.
Rose. She adjusted perfectly from last game. While she was not getting herself into open space before, NOW she’s getting open and creating chances, she’s yoinking the ball off Jamaica thinking they’ve got an offensive chance. Passes were it, movement was it, the Goal!! Rose with a right foot banger?? Yes please.
I scrolled back to the last time they played Jamaica and Horan played well at the 6 in that game too. Sooo, she’s allowed to play the 6 vs Jamaica. Her off the ball work and movement was noticeable and helped keep the offensive shape moving positively to get things created. Do I still think Vlatko is full of shit when he says she’s 100%?? YEAH. Because she’s not jumping like she should have the capability of. Like, we should be able to aim for her big blonde head on set pieces. We can’t because she’s not jumping high. P sure Rose was getting a better vertical. AND (this is the mental side,) but she not going in for tackles confidently. And I’m nervous that apprehension will result in her injuring herself more.
Sanchez grew into the game well. Not as intensely involved and got a little spicy there, but it’s fine. She’s good.
Kristie wasn’t as effective of a 6, I don’t love that. But I DO LOVE KRISTIE PKS. That left foot?? GOLDEN. And the post pk chest bump with Sonnett was so dumb and excellent
I almost forgot Korn. She didn’t do much tbh.
Mal got the ninety on that front line. While I’m not crazy about her yelling all the damn time (especially when she’s v clearly offsides lolz,) I do like her tenacity to move the ball forward and her dime crosses. Having her be the assist queen is lovely.
Midge drawing the PK, hell yeah hell yeah! She had a strong half and really pushed the Jamaican defense.
Hatch. Oof. I get resting Alex but goodness. She had her opportunities and there were a few that were v unlucky. But not her best showing. It’s a bummer her goal was called back because that could have helped get her going .
Trinity with a GOAL. Her going in at the 9 was weird when Alex was right there. But I’ll take her getting minutes! It took her a bit to get into the flow but she came THROUGH on that finish.
And SOPHIA SMITH. The baby. The brace queen. Bubble braid girlie. All the nicknames. Quad/hip wrap whatever the hell that was from last game… that shits off and SOPH WAS READY TO GO. Two goals in one half to just shut Jamaicas hopes immediately was… rude lolz. And the outside of the foot goal? Cruel and unusual punishment. I’m so happy she’s killing it.
This was a fun game, I’m SO ready for the Mexico game. And I gotta throw this in here, I am LOVING Bri Scurry on the panel. So fun!!

Your Ass Is Out of This World (Kelley x Reader)
Tumblr media
Request: alex or kelley or sonnett x reader where they've been dating for a few years R is an astronaut for NASA and she gets to go to space
Author’s Note: Special thanks to @literaryhedgehog cause without her, none of this would have happened.
Kelley wasn’t quite sure how she had ended up standing next to a dive bar sipping a lukewarm beer on a Friday night. In her defense, Ali and Ashlyn had convinced her it would be fun and had promised to pay for the Uber rides both ways. It had been fun for a while, dancing with them to some old 70s songs on the light-up dance floor, but half an hour ago they had disappeared off into a hallway somewhere, and she had no intention of third-wheeling (she knew she should have convinced Alex to join them). But she also wasn’t going to leave without them, because she wasn’t convinced either of them were sober enough to take any kind of transportation safely (someone needed to be there to make sure they didn’t puke in someone’s car).
So here she was, standing by the bar waiting for her friends’ sexcapades to be over, nursing her drink. The clink of a glass settling in front of her caught her attention. She blinked at the bartender. “I didn’t order another one,”
The man’s lips ticked up and he shrugged. “Lady on the end paid for it. Said you looked sad,”
Kelley looked up, following the man’s eyes towards a woman standing a few seats down the bar from her. She was also standing alone but was dressed as though for a different event altogether. Kelley had embraced the 70s theme of the bar slightly, wearing a jumpsuit and a scarf around her head, but this woman had just thrown a white NASA shirt--like the one Kelley got for her little cousin at Target-- over a pair of black jeans. As she bobbed her head to the music she met Kelley’s eyes and smiled.
Kelley took that as her invitation to approach. Kelley’s eyes traced her form, lingering on the white material. She didn’t know those came in adult sizes...
“You must be a star, I can't stop orbiting around you” Kelley smiled charmingly as she approached you, setting her beer on the bar beside you and settling in the seat to the left of yours.
“I do believe I was the one to buy you the drink…” you said, your lips twitching as you tried to keep a serious expression. “Shouldn’t I be the one throwing pickup lines here?”
“You bought me the drink, so I get to be the one to woo you. I’m Kelley, are you from Mars? 'cuz I wanna explore you with curiosity.” Kelley said, wiggling her eyebrows at you, enjoying the light blush coloring your cheeks.
“Oh my god,” you groaned, “that was terrible. I mean really good but absolutely awful.”
“At least I got you to smile, but you still haven’t told me your name.” Kelley laughed, taking a sip of her beer. She was prepared to lay on the horrible pick up lines for your entertainment.
“I’m Y/n,” you said, putting down your drink and holding out your hand, “pleasure.”
“They call me the milky way...Pleasure You Can't Measure,” Kelley smiled, shaking your hand as you laughed and pulling you a little closer “Why look at the moon, if I can’t touch it? Why look at your lips, if I can't kiss them,” she said, winking so you knew she was completely joking.
“How do you know so many of these?” You said, shaking your head in awe. “ All I know off the top of my head is ‘do you work for NASA? Because you’re out of this world!’”
“Ah, a magician never reveals her secrets,” Kelley whispered conspiratoryly, bringing her hand up to cover her lips. “but my team and I have definitely had flirt offs for bonding nights,”
“Your team?”
“Yeah, I play soccer for the US and Washington,” She shrugged as if it wasn’t a huge accomplishment.
Your eyes widened and you nearly spat out your drink. “Didn’t they, like, just win a World Cup?”
“Yeah, No biggie,” Kelley said, side-eyeing you as she took another sip.
“No biggie?  I’m surprised you don’t have a swarm of paparazzi shadowing you, that’s incredible! Weren’t the USWNT like the most successful US team in soccer?’
“Hm, there’s not enough drama for them, but we don’t mind. How about you? What do you do beautiful?” Kelley hummed.
“Oh. I work for NASA,” you said, gesturing at the shirt. “I can’t wait to bring some of those lines back to work.”
“What??”
****
“So do they at least give you a good choice of flavors? So you don’t get bored and stuff?” Emily asked from across the table, licking her dripping I cream cone.
When your girlfriend decided to introduce you to the team after their match against Colombia, you were quite surprised she had chosen an ice cream shop as a venue. But with how food motivated the youngins seemed, you realized how appropriate it was.
“I mean,” you said, your spoon suspended in the air as you blinked at Emily, “ice cream isn’t the only thing we will eat. I’m going to be on the station for like 8 months. Ice cream is not a balanced diet.”
“But it’s the only one they sell in the stores. You don’t have to lie cause the veggie lovers are here,” The defender said, leaning across the table, as though it would prevent the rest of the table from hearing her.
“Babe, you literally love most veggies too,” Lindsey rolled her eyes, using her thumb to wipe a spot of chocolate ice cream from Emily’s nose.
“Actually, I heard they’re a pretty good selection of dehydrated fruits and veggies and MRE’s and Tortillas and stuff. Plus I get to take a few things from home…” You mumbled, leaning back.
She couldn’t be serious right? There was no way she thought you were supposed to sustain yourself on horrible freeze-dried dairy products for that long. Not to mention, freeze-dried ‘astronaut’ products for the most part weren’t actually possible to bring to space, with how crumbly they are. You were more likely to eat actual ice cream on the space station (less chance for an errant crumb being inhaled or destroying an important piece of equipment) than that gift shop garbage.
“Oh yeah, MRE sounds way more likely than just eating the stuff they literally label as being for astronauts…” Emily said, rolling her eyes. “What does that even stand for? ‘Must reject Emily?”
You opened your mouth to answer, eyebrows furrowed, only for Kelley to nudge you softly.
“It’s not worth the fight babe, trust me. Not the brightest lighthouse if you know what I mean,” Your girlfriend made a swirling motion with her finger next to her temple.
You leaned in closer so your lips were nearly touching her ear. “She’s not serious right?”
“I never joke about ice cream,” Emily answered seriously.
You blinked at her, looking to your girlfriend who just shrugged and raised her eyebrows.
“I’m, I’m not sure if they have a flavor rotation system for ice cream flavors. We haven’t been… briefed on that yet,” you nodded seriously.
…...
“Can you hear me?” Kelley said, tapping her fingers impatiently as your face appeared in the video call.
“He- -utiful,” You smiled through the glitchy computer screen. Your waving was broken up like a bad claymation. You leaned in to make out the fuzzy figures standing behind your girlfriend, assuming she was at camp or something.
Normal long distance sucked, but literally being off-planet really made things difficult. It wasn’t like Kelley could just text you when she missed you, or randomly call you when she missed you at 3 am. Sure, she could email and you made a tremendous effort to schedule calls once a month, but it was still incredibly difficult (and slightly weird that a NASA tech dude had to monitor each call to make sure the connection stayed up). And sometimes even the best video-calling technology had issues. Like today (when a giant satellite or piece of space trash would block the signal).
“Are you hav- -un at -amp?” You asked, grabbing your floating water pouch pushing out a sip sized water drop.
“Yeah, it’s great,” Kelley said, watching you munch on your water. When you first got on the station you sent her pictures of artwork you made out of different drops of colored water- specifically making a giant water ‘soccer ball’ for her. Then you tried to boop it around and ended up losing control, amusing all your crewmates who watched you trying not to run into too many walls. “We’re looking forward to playing against Brazil on Friday, should be brutal.”
“We’re set to be ov- Florida on -day, so I’ll try and tune into the ga-. Catch a nice - view,” You nodded, wiggling your eyebrows (which looked more like you having a seizure due to how badly you were pixelated).
While Kelley wasn’t entirely sure what you were saying, she went ahead and nodded. “Let me know what you think!”
“Wh- color -it are you w-ing? Y- look -uper s-xy in the -ue,” you said, floating up in a ‘draw me like one of your french girls’ pose.
“You’re favorite one,” Kelley said, winking at you.
“-es!!” You cheered “-ake p-ture -or -“ the screen flickered dangerously for a second. Before a wobbly picture returned.
“Babe you’re breaking up, I can’t tell what you’re saying. Y/n. Are you there? UGh. I love you! We’ll talk soon.”
“-ove y- -oo”
Kelley blew a slow kiss to her camera before she heard a deep voice saying “Sorry ma’am. The connection was lost. Y’all still have five minutes on your scheduled call- Want me to try calling again? See if the signal improves?”
“Yeah,” Kelley shifted, rubbing the bridge of her nose as typing sounds echoed through the speaker. How she was going to make it through four more months of this she had no idea.
“What if like the ship was attacked by aliens or something,” Sonnett whispered from her left, staring at the blank screen with real trepidation.
“Not possible ma’am,” she heard him laugh. “But I doubt I would have the right level of security clearance to know.”
“great.”
Kelley grabbed a pen and marked a day off the calendar hanging on her wall. So much for ‘phone call with Y/n.’ She sighed. Just a few months to go.
****
Gravity fucking sucked. It was disorienting and heavy and made you sick to your stomach. Space station alums always talked about re-entry and how bad that was, but you thought sitting in a NASA hospital bed while your equilibrium readjusted was way worse than your fireball craft plummeting into the ocean.
“This fucking sucks,” You groaned, again throwing your hand over to pull out the IV. You hated how hard it was to move (and how you actually had to hold up a cup of water to get a drink but that was beside the point).
“Whoa babe, I know you’re a little out of it right now, but that has to stay in. Just try and relax for a little while,” Kelley said, grabbing your hand and kissing the back of your knuckles.
You frowned at her through heavy-lidded eyes. “Don’t wanna be here. Wanna be home with you.”
“I know, but you gotta stay here until the re-entry symptoms have worn off a little more,” She said again. She knew that you weren’t going to be 100% when you stepped out of the spacecraft, but she hadn’t expected you to be so out of it. You were sick to your stomach and entirely unable to walk without assistance.
The doctors assured her that you would be fine (residual effects from not being in gravity for so long and the impact of the landing or whatever), but it was still difficult to watch. It didn’t help that you were a horrendous patient.
“Just watch the game. The US is even in Blue,” Kelley tried to coax. Even she was beginning to grow restless. But you couldn’t leave until you could keep down solid foods.
“I don’t want to watch. You’re not in it,” You said, grabbing the remote from her and turning the television off. Then you tried to set the remote in the air, but instead of hovering like it should have done, it dropped to the ground.
“Alright, commander Y/l/n. It’s dinner time,” one of the NASA hospital nurses said, bringing in a tray for you. Kelley thanked them as they left since you were too dazed to think of it.
“God this food sucks, I hate jello ” you grumbled, lifting the spoon in front of your face (fully expecting it to float so you could take your bite) and dropping it as you want to open the pudding packet instead. “I just want a big juicy cheeseburger. With bacon and onions and-“ You trailed off, your mouth watering at the thought. You hadn’t had proper food in 8 months, and it had been your major cravings food.
“A side of diabetes” she scoffed, picking up the discarded remote and spoon, “And are you going to keep dropping things everywhere?” She asked, carefully filling a spoon with chocolate pudding and guiding it to your mouth.
“Fuck Newton. Things are supposed to float,”
****
You loved the soft skin behind Kelley’s ear. It was so smooth, and it always smelt like a mix of her perfume, shampoo, and something inherently Kelley. It was a bonus that your exploration of the area always sent a shiver down her spine. You ran your nose along the skin there, nibbling on her ear before moving down her neck. Leaving little kisses along your path. Kelley sighed, sleepily scratching your scalp and tilting her head to the side to encourage you to continue.
“You,” Kelley said. “ I like you.”
“Hm, I’m glad. It would be kinda scary if you were doing this with someone you didn’t like,” you mumbled against her skin, unwilling to part with it for even a moment. Kelley giggled at the tickling sensation. How you still had so much energy after you had thoroughly worn her out getting… reacquainted she would never know.
“But what do you like most. Tell me, babe,” You said, moving your lips a little lower, towards where her shoulder and neck met.
“I love… your ass. It’s out of this world.” She said sleepily, reaching around to grab her favorite asset of yours.
“Well, it has been,” You laughed, pulling away reluctantly so you could look her in the eyes.
“Shut up you goof,” She rolled her eyes, grabbing a pillow and whacking you lightly. You fell over dramatically, pulling her so she was on top of you.
“Hm, I’m your goof,”
“Yeah. You are. And babe?” She smiled down at you, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips.
“Hmm?” You hummed against her lips. She leaned back to look you in the eyes, one forearm across your chest and her other hand beside your head supporting her.
“No more space travel for a while?”
“Pinky promise,” You said, wiggling your hand so your littlest finger connected with hers.
“Good. I can’t believe I was dating someone from TEXAS for a while.” Kelley pretended to shudder. “Jus think, one of your coworkers might have been a Houston dash supporter!”

The Not So Little Secret (Kristie Mewis x Reader)
Tumblr media
After a drunken one night stand, the reader finds the person she slept with unexpectedly, unexpectedtly considering they’d just walked on the team bus wearing her favorite hoodie a hoodie that had gone missing moments after her one night stand had made her escape.
A/N: This story is G!P, and has brief mentions of smut, so if that’s not your thing, feel free to skip this one.
You groan, the sound of your hotel room’s door shutting making you grimace, your head throbbing painfully thanks to the effects of the alcohol you drank the night before.
“Wh-What?” You stutter as you sit up, your eyes wide when you realize you’re entirely bare, clothes strewn about the room.
Your eyes widen in realization as you leap from the bed, it’s covers wrapped around you as you rush towards the door, jerking it open and stepping out into the hallway, your head on a swivel as you look for the person you’d shared a bed with the night before.
“Well, looks like someone enjoyed their night.”
You huff, rolling your eyes as you turn towards Kelley O’Hara, the defender snickering as Emily Sonnett snaps pictures of you in nothing but your bed’s sheet.
“Was she good?” Emily asks with a snicker.
You shake your head, glancing over your shoulder once more hoping to catch a glimpse of the person you spent the night with, but when you come up empty you turn back to the two defenders, your middle finger held high as you make your way into your room, kicking the door shut behind you.
                                                           ***
The door to Sam and Kristie Mewis’s hotel room swings open, the latter tiptoeing inside, her teeth clenched as she moves towards her bed.
“Oh my god, are you doing the walk of shame?” Sam asks from her place in the bathroom, her toothbrush hanging out of her mouth.
“Shut up.” She growls as she slinks towards her bed.
“Whose shirt is that?” Sam asks, giving the material a tug, the NYU shirt baggy on her frame.
“I-I don’t know.” She mumbles and Sam’s blue eyes widen.
“YOU DON’T KNOW!?” She screeches and Kristie groans, giving her temples a rub.
“Not so loud.”
Sam shakes her head.
“How can you not know?”
Kristie rolls her eyes.
“I was drunk, I left as soon as I woke up, okay?” She shuffles towards her suitcase, jerking the shirt off over her head and throwing it in her empty, made bed.
“So, you have, NO IDEA, who you slept with? You didn’t even look!?” She asks and Kristie shakes her head.
“Just drop it, okay?” She huffs, tugging a shirt over her head as Sam snickers.
“Was it good?” She asks, her tongue trapped between her teeth, and Kristie groans, her cheeks flushing when she thinks of the night before, the way it felt when they’d first slid inside her-
Kristie is cut off mid-thought when Sam snorts.
“Judging by the look on your face, I’d say it wasssssss REALLY good.” She sings, Kristie smacking her in the face with a nearby pillow.
“Shut up, Samantha.”
“Why? It’s seems like you were enjoying thinking about it.” She teases, her sister groaning louder as she kicks the bathroom door shut behind her, thoughts of the night before fresh in her mind, thoughts of what happened between the two of them making the ache in her hips prominent.
Now if only she could remember who it was, she slept with, she could put the prominent ache in her core to the face of the person who’d caused it.
                                                           ***
You stretch your arms high above your head as you make your way onto the bus, your face twisted in a grimace.
“You look as bad as I feel.” Mallory groans as she falls in the seat beside Rose, the two wearing sunglasses to block out the brightness the sun provides.
You fall into an empty seat, growling when your head hits the window.
“You’re just having the best morning, aren’t you?” Kelley teases on her way by and you whine, your eyes fluttering shut.
“Shut up.”
“What’s wrong?”
Your eyes crack open before widening in shock, the blonde making her way down the aisle wearing something familiar, something that had gone missing from your room moments before your one-night stand had left.
“What?” Kristie asks, noting the look on your face and you shake your head rapidly, your cheeks burning.
“N-Nothing.” You stutter, turning towards the window, unable to look the woman in the eye.
When Kristie moves out of view you shake your head, covering your face with your hands, your face hot to the touch.
“What’s wrong with you?” Emily asks as she flops into the seat beside Lindsey, and right across from you.
“J-Just don’t feel good.”
“I mean, I thought you would feel great after what happened this morning.” She teases, the tips of your ears burning.
You couldn’t believe it, out of all of the people you could’ve slept with you’d slept with Kristie Mewis, the one person you never wanted to find out your secret, the secret being the very thing you’d slid into her with the night before.
“SOOOOO, Kris.”
You pick your head up, swallowing hard when Sam makes her way down the aisle towards you.
“Why don’t you tell everyone about the incredible one night-stand you had last night?” She smirks, bypassing you on her way to the seat beside her sister’s.
Emily’s eyes widen, the blonde turning towards Kelley, whose brown orbs are already on you.
“Oooooo, yeah Kristie, why don’t you tell us about this, one night-stand?” Emily smirks, and you turn, smacking your head purposely on the window.
“Sam, I swear to god.” Kristie growls.
“Apparently it was REALLY good, wasn’t it Kris?” Sam snickers and Kristie groans.
“Come on Kristie, tell us all about this REALLY GOOD, one night-stand?” Kelley pries and you clear your throat, unable to bite back your smirk when you realize Kristie had referred to the night you shared as, really good.
Your smirk quickly turns into a frown, your eyes dropping to the crotch of your pants, pants that were hiding a secret you would rather the world not know about.
“Apparently it was so good she couldn’t stop thinking about it this morning.” Sam gives her sister a nudge, the older Mewis covering her face with her hands.
“Shut up.” She whines, the bus of USWNT players erupting in a fit of giggles.
“Does this one night-stand have a name?” Emily asks, eyeing you out of the corner of her eye and you swallow hard.
“She doesn’t remember who it was.” Sam shakes her head, missing the glance Kelley shoots your way.
“SO, it could be ANYONE?” She asks, brown orbs still on you and you swallow hard, hoping that no one catches on to what Kelley is saying.
“What about your night Y/N?” Emily asks with a smirk and your brows arch, everyone turning your way, a certain pair of blue orbs burning holes into your back.
“I honestly just passed out when I got back to my room.” You shrug and Emily hums.
“Honestly?”
Your nostrils flare, your eyes narrowed.
“Honestly.” You repeat and she hums, sending a side eyed glance in Kelley’s direction.
Meanwhile, towards the back of the bus, Kristie frowns.
If there was one person, she’d hoped to spend the night with, she’d hoped it was you, but unfortunately, it looked as if it wasn’t the case.
Thankfully for not only her, but you, the jeering stops roughly as soon as it started, everyone getting lost in their own activities.
Unfortunately for you however, Emily practically leaps into the empty seat beside you the second she gets, the blonde smirking cockily.
“Are you SUREEEE, that’s all you remember about last night? Hmmmm?” She whispers, nudging you rapidly and you groan.
“Come on Y/N, tell us more about your nighttttt.” Kelley slips into the empty seat behind you her hands on her shoulder’s as she shakes you.
You take a deep breath, frowning as you turn towards the two.
“Can you guys let it go?”
Kelley and Emily share a glance.
You groan.
“It wasn’t me.”
“It was totally you, maybe we should ask Kristie and see-
“NO.” You yell, everyone on the bus turning towards you, your cheeks burning as you clear your throat.
“Please don’t.” Your voice drops below a whisper, Emily and Kelley again sharing a glance.
“SO, YOU ARE THE REALLY GOOD ONE NIGHT-STAND!” Emily whisper yells, the blonde wiggling in her seat.
“But Kristie doesn’t know it was you.”
Emily strokes her chin.
“What if we-
“No.” You cut her off, shaking your head rapidly. “Absolutely not.”
“Why not?” Emily pouts, earning a nudge from the older defender.
“Matters of the heart don’t involve us, Son.” Kelley smiles, and Emily’s bottom lip juts out even further.
“Does that mean we have to stop teasing her?” She asks and Kelley grins maliciously.
“Nope.”
                                                           ***
Unfortunately for you, the pair spend a fraction of the ride teasing you until they eventually make their ways back to their seats.
You lean your head against the window, your mind racing.
What were you supposed to do?
How exactly were you supposed to tell Kristie that the woman she slept with the night before was indeed, you and that you in fact, had an appendage between your legs that most didn’t have?
You frown, smacking your head against the window, again, purposely.
You weren’t sure how, but you had to tell her, you had no other choice, especially considering you weren’t the only one who knew, and Kelley and Emily weren’t able to keep a secret to save their lives.
You run a hand down your face, thoughts of the night previous running through your mind as you attempt to grasp onto anything that might make you remember what happened the night before.
You inhale sharply, your eyes widening when the base of the appendage between your legs begins to tingle.
You roll your eyes.
“Well, one of us remembers what happened last night.” You grumble, swallowing hard when you remember what it was like, sliding inside her tight-
“Alright, we’re here.”
“Oh, thank fuck.” You yell, grabbing your bag and sprinting off the bus nearly bulldozing over Vlatko, everyone watching you go with wide eyes.
“What was that about?” Sam snorts, Kristie’s eye narrowed as she watches you sprint into the stadium.
“No clue.”
                                                           ***
You knew you were playing poorly, something that became more apparent when Vlatko subbed you off roughly a few minutes into the second half of the game.
You make your way towards the sidelines, head hung in shame, only lifting your head when someone’s hand settles on your back, your eyes widening when they lock with Kristie’s blue orbs.
She gives you a tiny smile, taking your hand and giving it a squeeze before jogging out onto the field, taking your place.
You toe the line, turning to watch the blonde, a small smile on your face as you watch her sprint down field.
“Things don’t have to change between you, you know?”
You stiffen, turning in the direction of Kelley, the woman smiling as she pats the bench beside her.
You shake your head, reluctantly taking the seat beside her, sighing.
“But they already have.”
Kelley shakes her head.
“I’ve seen the way you look at her.” She whispers and you swallow hard, attempting to swallow the growing lump in your throat.
“And I may have just ruined any chance I had with her.”
Kelley frowns.
“Why do you say that?” She asks and you frown, mulling over your words for a moment before you speak.
“She knows something about me now, something I’d rather not anyone know, and that something may have just ruined everything.”
Kelley hums, though she, surprisingly, doesn’t pry, the defender leaning against you.
“If she cares for you, whatever it is she knows shouldn’t change that.”
You swallow hard, glancing down at the slight bulge in your shorts and you immediately shift, hiding it from view.
“I don’t know Kel, but I sure hope you’re right.” You say as you lean against her, the defender scoffing.
“I’m always right.”
                                                           ***
You kept your head down after that, unable to look really anyone in the eye.
It was only when the entire locker room had emptied out that you’d picked up your head.
“Are you okay??”
You stiffen, your eyes widening when you realize it was in fact Kristie Mewis standing behind you.
You turn on your heels, swallowing hard as you shuffle nervously on your feet.
“Y/N, what’s-
“I-I-It looks good on you.” You stutter, the blonde’s brows furrowing.
“What does?” She asks, her eyes widening when you nod your head, nodding to the old NYU sweater clinging to her, a sweater that belonged to you, a sweater she hadn’t meant to grab that morning or before she’d gotten on the bus.
Kristie’s eyes double in size, her mouth agape as she looks from you, to the sweater and back, her cheeks growing redder by the second.
“It was--It was you?” She whispers softly, your eyes downcast as you nod your head, your bottom lip trapped between your teeth.
“B-But you have-
“Are you guys coming?” Sam asks, her head poking into the locker room.
You clear your throat.
“Ye-Yeah, we’re coming.”
Your eyes lock with Kristie’s, the woman’s tongue swiping at her lips, her mouth opening and closing as she tries to find her words, words that go unheard by you as you turn on your heels and march out of the locker room, leaving the two Mewis sisters behind.
“What was that about?” Sam asks, blue orbs narrowed as they dart from the door you just exited, to Kristie, the blonde’s cheeks pink.
“It’s nothing.”
Before Sam can ask anything further, Kristie has followed your lead, marching out of the locker room and towards the bus.
The blonde tried everything she could to catch your gaze, but to no avail, considering your face was literally squished to the bus’s window.
She flops down in her empty seat with a sigh, the woman’s eyes burning holes in the back of your head.
You swallow hard, wondering if telling her so blatantly had been a mistake.
                                                           ***
Before Kristie can even move to her feet, you’re off the bus, sprinting into the hotel and out of sight, the blonde frowning sadly.
“Are you sure something isn’t going on?” Sam asks, earning a shake of the head from her sister.
“No, nothing’s going on.” She says nonchalantly, her heart racing in her chest as she tries to remember the night previous, the woman only able to recollect a number of lewd scenes, things that make her core ache.
She clears her throat, hastily grabbing her bag and following behind you in the hopes that she’d catch you before you entered the elevators, unfortunately, she’s unsuccessful, the blonde sighing in defeat.
Meanwhile, upstairs you’ve slammed your hotel room’s door shut behind you, tears in your eyes as you slide down it, your back pressed against its wood surface.
You tremble, unable to control the shaking in your hands as you recount what had happened in the locker room, the look on her face when you’d told her it was in fact you, she’d spent the night with the night previous.
You let out a sob, tears streaming down your cheeks as you wrap your arms around your legs, pulling them to your chest.
Unbeknownst to you, on the other side of the door, Kristie frowns, her heart torn into literal pieces when she hears your cries.
She takes a seat in front of the door, leaning back heavily against it, the woman currently crying on the other side of the door unaware of her presence.
Eventually, your cries taper off, your hands running down your face as you move to your feet, slinking towards the bed, content with falling in it and not leaving for the remainder of the day, that is, until a knock sounds on your hotel room’s door.
You close your eyes knowing all too well who was on the other side of the door.
Slowly, you make your way towards her, nodding to yourself before pulling it open to reveal Kristie Mewis, the blonde simply staring at you before you step to the side, allowing her inside.
You swallow, the door still ajar, its knob still in your hand.
Once you’d closed it, you knew there was no going back, in reality, there was no going back at all, you just deluded yourself to the fact that there was and you indeed had control over it, when you realized you didn’t you gave the door a push, closing it softly.
You stare at your feet before reluctantly moving further into the room, making your way towards the window, bypassing the blonde perched on the end of your bed, your bottom lip trapped between your teeth as you wait for her to say something, anything to fill the tense silence.
“How long did you know?” She asks and you clear your throat.
“When you got on the bus, you were in my NYU hoodie.”
Kristie glances downward, smiling softly as she caresses the faded material between her thumbs and index fingers.
She moves to her feet, the sound making you tense, your throat bobbing as you attempt to swallow.
Your breath hitches when she places a hand on your back, her touch gentle, and soothing.
You close your eyes, inhaling deeply before your lips part.
“I’m intersex.” You mutter, your bottom lip trembling slightly as the words you’d held in for so long escape your mouth, words you never thought you’d have to say.
Behind you, Kristie nods, the woman taking your hand before giving your arm a tug, thus, turning you around, your watery Y/E/C’s locking with her shining blues.
Your eyes double in size when she cups your cheeks, swiping tears away that you hadn’t realized had begun to fall.
Her arms slip around your neck, the blonde pulling you in.
She’d never seen you so vulnerable, tears rolling down your cheeks as you hid your face in her neck, unwilling to let the universe see you break down.
“Shhhh.” She coos her hands running up and down your back as you sniffle.
She turns her head, whispering in your ear.
“This doesn’t change how I feel about you.” She whispers and you stiffen, pulling back so you can look her in the eye.
“How can it not? I mean I’m a fre-
Kristie places a fingertip to your pursed lips, effectively silencing you.
“Don’t ever call yourself that, it’s not true.”
When she gently cups your cheek, you close your eyes.
Moments later your eyes flutter open, a question perched on the tip of your tongue.
“And how is it that you feel about me?” You whisper, your voice so soft she has to strain her ears to hear it.
Her eyes search your face before she takes a deep breath, nodding to herself before closing the distance between you, her lips pressing tenderly against yours.
She abruptly pulls back when she realizes your lips aren’t moving, your face frozen in a shocked expression.
“I’m sorry. I-I thought—
She stops mid-sentence when you delicately cup her cheek, your thumb caressing her flushed skin before you lean in, the distance between you fading away when your lips meet hers.
Her hands find purchase on your waist, the two of you parting only to lean back in, your lips meeting again and again.
You reluctantly part, neither going far as you lean your foreheads against one another.
She bumps her nose playfully against yours, and despite the fact that she now knows your secret, you can’t help but smile.
“Does that tell you how I feel about you?” She whispers and you nod, leaning your head back to press a kiss to her forehead.
“It does.”
You pull back, swallowing hard.
“But what about my—"
Kristie again presses her index finger to your lips.
“Like I said, it doesn’t change the way I feel about you.” She smiles, replacing her finger with her lips.
You smile into the kiss, giving her waist a squeeze.
A cocky smirk stretches across your face.
“Was I really that good last night?” You tease and she rolls her eyes, her cheeks flushing.
Your smirk splits into a cocky grin.
“I was, wasn’t I?”
“Shut up.”

My Sister’s Keeper (Hope Solo x Reader)
Tumblr media
request: anon ; Hi! Can you do a R and goalkeeper (Solo or Naeher or Franch) imagine where R is really worried bc her girlfriend got a broken nose and maybe R is the sister of some other USWNT player (like Tobin or Julie or Kelley or someone). Thanks!
word count: 2231 ish
your crush on the number 1 goalkeeper was pathetic (in the eyes of your sister Tobin Heath and best friend Emily Sonnett that is). what would it take for you to finally make a move? (hint: it’s a ball to the face and a broken nose).
a/n: (au to Hope still playing for the uswnt ofc). changed things up a little for *story telling purposes* but yeah, hope (hahahahha) you enjoy it! also, never seen my sisters keeper but idc im keeping it as a title :P enjoy the fluff! :)
----
“Alright take five!” Vlatko says, blowing on his whistle for you all to take a break. You walk over to Emily, leaning your head on her shoulder as you take a drink water. “I swear Vlatko’s trying to kill us today.” You mumble, wiping your forehead sweat with her sleeve. “Oh god ew”. Emily gags while shaking her arm, trying to rid it of your perspiration. You let out a chuckle and turn to take another drink of water when something catches the corner of your eye. Well more like someone. The goalkeepers were still in training, with Ash, Alyssa and Hope diving left and right for saves. It’s then that Hope takes a second and wipes some sweat off her face with the hem of her shirt, giving you a look at her abs in all their glory. The water you were drinking quickly misses your mouth and ends up all over Sonnett. “What the- Y/N! What are you doing?!” Emily screeches in surprise, slapping the water bottle out of your hand. Emily’s screech draws a set of blue orbs in your direction, your cheeks quickly heating up when your eyes meet for a split second before you look away. The drenched defender takes one look at your flushed face and smirks. “You so have a crush.” “Wha- I- No!” You sputter, your cheeks betraying your false statement as they flush a deeper shade of red. “Awww lil Y/NN has a crushie wushie” she teases while pinching your cheeks. “Shut up.” You grumble, slapping her hands away. Emily and you turn to take a look once again at the keepers, and when Hope dives to the ground for the ball, Sonnett lets out a low whistle and whispers, “I approve and must I say, she is one large sip of water.” “What century did you come from?” You snort, slapping her on the side of the head. Meanwhile on the field, Hope’s eyes drift off to the side to see you and Sonnett bickering, and a soft smile spreads across her face. In the midst of her distraction, she almost gets hit in the face with a ball, but thankful for her quick reflexes, turns to catch it in time. Ashlyn stands back with a grin, having noticed it all. Hope turns to see Ash with a shit eating grin and narrows her eyes, “What are you staring at?” “Nothing. Nothing at all.” ~~ It’s quarter to nine when you get back to the hotel, having been out running errands a few minutes prior. Sonnett had been teasing you nonstop about you crush all day and quite frankly, you couldn’t blame her. You turn the corner of the hallway quickly, not bothering to look up, only to.. crash right into the woman you had been thinking of all day. “I’m so-“ “I’m-“ You both stop speaking, you looking down at the ground bashfully, not daring to look at the woman in front of you. It’s then that you notice how close you are to Hope, your head almost touching her chest and feeling her hot breath on the top of your head. Not to mention that her hands are on your waist and yours are on her... Your eyes widen and you jump away from her, cheeks flushed and you manage to stutter out, “I- I’m sorry I- uh my room uh- ye-yeah th-i-is way.” Hope giggles at your jumbled mess of words and you blush even harder, muttering a “bye” before you race down the hall. You make it to your room in record speed and you slam the door shut and let out a long exhale when you’re in your room, back against the door. “What’s wif you?” Sonnett asks, toothbrush dangling in her mouth, glancing at you in the mirror. You shake your head vigorously, refusing to talk about it. You plop down in your best friend’s bed and replay the events in the hallway over and over. It’s a few minutes later that your phone dings and you roll over to see a text from your sister. *You have a crush on Hope????* “EMILY ANN SONNETT GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!” ~~ Your eyes follow Hope’s every move with interest from the bench, watching as the goalie paces around the box. The game against Panama was surprisingly calm, the US with a 4-0 lead, chilling quite comfortably as the end of the first half draws near. A whistle blows, signaling the end of the first half and snapping you out of your trance. You’re one of the last to make it into the locker room, but before you do, someone turns and elbows you in the face, knocking you to the ground. “Shit! I’m so sorry!” You look up dazed to see, of course, Hope Solo staring down at you apologetically. She extends a hand out and you take it timidly, cheeks flushed and heart racing. She must have overestimated your weight or maybe it was just a side effect of her killer biceps but she pulls you up with so much force that you stumble forward, crashing into her chest. “We have to stop meeting like this,” Hope chuckles, hands on your waist to steady you. Your cheeks flush even more if possible, and you try to redirect the conversation, stammering, “I- uh we- meet-ting ha-alf ye-yeah.” You mentally facepalm at your inability to speak around her, but Hope just giggles and says, “Yes, I do believe we have a meeting to get to.” You pull away from her and walk quickly, cheeks flushed, heart pounding, and mind clouded. “Uh, hey Y/N? You know our locker room is this way right?” “Right!” ~~ The awkward encounters didn’t stop there. And by now because of it, it was obvious to the entire team that you had the hots for Hope. Every time she was within a 6 feet radius of you, you would start blushing and become a stuttering mess. Hope thought it was adorable, Tobin and Sonnett and the rest of the team thought it was pathetic. That leads to training day, one day before your game against England. You jump when your sister slaps your back and takes a seat on the bench next to you. “Too busy thinking about your girlfriend?” Tobin inquires while tying her cleats. “She’s not my girlfriend, and no” You flush, your cheeks tinted scarlet. “Why don’t you just talk to her Y/N? Ask her out?” Tobin asks. You jump again when Sonnett, who had been eavesdropping on the conversation, lets out a scoff from behind you. “Please Toby, have you seen her? Y/N would trip over her own words before she can get a ‘hi’ out.” You roll your eyes in annoyance, no way denying it, as Emily plops down on the seat to your left. “I mean I just sucked it up and asked Chris out, I’m sure you can do it.” Tobin says while patting on your back. “Oh please, I strive to be how confident you are around Chris.” You state, glancing over at the field to where the forward was standing. “Just give it a shot Y/N, you never know how it could go.” “Fine, but we all know how it’s going to go. I’m gonna not be able to get the sentence out or she’s just going to flat out say no” You sigh, leaning your head on Tobin’s shoulder. “You don’t know that for sure,” Tobin says, scratching your head softly. “Fine.” You sigh again, looking over at the field, eyes widening and cheeks flushing when you lock eyes with none other than Hope Solo. Sonnett follows your gaze and beams, “Now go get your girl tiger.” “Maybe.” ~~ You didn’t go “get your girl”. You didn’t even speak to her. You just stayed as far away as humanly possible. However, it was during PK practice that you had no choice but to be around Hope. It was you versus Hope, and no one else. As you lined up to take a shot, Hope sent you a wink, and you nearly had a heart attack right then and there. Not to mention, you missed the ball (and therefore the goal) by a wide margin, falling flat on your back. Kelley rushes over shaking her head while trying to contain her laughter, and it takes one look from her for you to know what she’s going to say. “You’re pathetic” She chuckles, lending out a hand to pull you up. You take it graciously, cheeks flushed in embarrassment. You meet Hope’s eyes when you stand, sticking your tongue out at her when she bursts out laughing. You couldn’t lie, her laugh made your chest tighten up and butterflies explode in your stomach. Hope kept laughing, and you roll your eyes in annoyance as you walk back to take your PK again. You look down for as long as you can this time, only looking up right before you kick. This time, with no distractions, the ball hits the back of the net, flying right by Hope’s fingertips. You look up and shoot a cocky smirk at Hope, who just rolls her eyes and mimics you falling after missing the ball. You shoot her a glare as Sonnett bursts out laughing along with the rest of the team. Tobin comes up and ruffles your hair, laughing, “Nice going lil sis.” You give her a playful shove on the chest and walk over to Sonnett who just looks at you with a grin. “Don’t.” You threaten. “You looked like a cartoo- HEY!” You cut her off by dumping the remainder of Tobin’s cup of water onto her head. She looks at you with a glare and you know you’re in for it. Hope just stands back and watches you run away from Sonnett, who has a water bottle in hand, screaming bloody murder after you. She just watches and chuckles. ~~ It’s the midst England game now, and all was going well. The US was up by 1, you had scored once, and Press had scored once, essentially making Tobin the proudest human in existence. But in the 87th minute, Kelley drew a foul and England was granted a penalty kick, with Houghton stepping up to take it. You could see Hope jumping up and down in the goal, obviously a little nervous. When she’s scanning the field and her eyes meet yours, you get a wave of confidence and shoot her a wink. Her eyes widen and cheeks flush, but realizing that she was about to save a penalty, she quickly shook her head trying to rid it of her thoughts. The whistle blows and Houghton steps up to kick. Everyone held their breath as Hope dives left, but she overshot it, her face colliding with the ball instead of her hands. Nonetheless, she saves the pk, securing the 1 point lead for the US. Your heart slams in your chest as you realize she wasn’t getting up, and quickly the game is paused as the medical team goes to check on her. You’re by her side in a flash, grimacing at the stream of blood running down from her nose. As on member of the medical team fixes her nose, one goes to request a substitute but he’s yanked down by Hope before he can. “I am fine. I don’t need a substitute” She growls, quickly releasing the man’s arm. You just shake your head, rolling your eyes at the stubborn goalkeeper. Hope’s hand reaches out to you when she stands up, and you grab it without a second of hesitation, pulling her up. Ignoring the butterflies swarming inside of you, you say, “Just be careful okay?” “No promises,” She smiles, letting out a toothy grin. You give her a playful shove and make your way back to the field. ~~ After the game, you decide to bite the bullet and do something you’ve wanted to for weeks. You look over to Hope, and your eyes widen in surprise when you notice the woman was already making her way towards you. Quickly turning around, you see Sonnett, on her way by, who sends you a wink and mouths, “Good luck, ask her out” You take a deep breath and prepare yourself to turn around again and of course, just your luck, you slam right into her. “Again?” Hope asks with her eyebrows raised, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. You just stare at her, eyes wide and heart pumping erratically in your chest. “Well?” “Willyougoonadatewithme?” You breathe out. “Um? Run that by me again?” She chuckles, placing a hand on your cheek. You melt into her touch and gulp, taking a deep breath before you saying, “Will you go on a date with m-“ Hope cuts you off with a kiss, one that you quickly and happily reciprocate. Tobin and Sonnett watch from afar grinning, Tobin slapping a hand over Sonnett’s mouth to keep her from letting out a loud squeal. It’s the type of kiss that knocks all the air out of your lungs, and you feel like you’re floating and falling all at the same time. You pull back with a grin, “Is that a yes?” Hope just chuckles and pulls you in for another kiss, but before your lips meet, she whispers: “No. It’s a hell yes.”

It’s been awhile since I made a long scrolling post with my scalding takes on a soccer game. HERE WE GO.
She Believes. USWNT v Czech Republic
Casey Murphy - didn’t get tested too much, but got the nod with the start so YAY for her!
Baby T - she’s so CALM. It really is wild how she’s playing a high pressure, usually the last defender position, and she’s just chilling. She had a handful of chippy fouls but big love to baby T.
Alana - I feel like I don’t have too much to say because she went out there and did what she needed to do! She didn’t have to do anything extraordinary, she just had to be solid. And she absolutely was.
Emily Fox - weird that she only got one half because she WAS doing well! She was great one on one and came up to connect and make crosses
Kelley - let me say, that old bag of dirt still has legs!! Really kept the energy for the full ninety and gave us so many more options coming forward. Her nutmeg was just, such a Kelley move, I feel like she always tries it in that spot. So good thing she got it!! But her crosses? Or like, attempted diagonal balls. It wasn’t the move this game. It was either going to the keeper and it felt like her hips weren’t turned and it kept floating instead of curling
Sonnett - with the SPARK with Kristie to start the second half. It’s very clear that her and Kristie and Trinity work well together. That was good fun. Her cross to that Trinity header was SO GOOD. She got caught double teamed a few times which made turning out of pressure tough. Also her hand ball. We got fuckin LUCKY
Becky - p rude that Rebecca had to SUB INTO her 200 cap match, but she doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to care about that. She’s so solid, such a pro. She was directing everyone as soon as she came in and I loved it
Rose - SWEET Rose. God she’s so much fun. Kelley had the armband, but Rose led that team all first half. Her movement, her willingness to try things and to shoot, her combos with Cat 😍. Put out your prayer candles that she stays healthy because I want Rose always
Andi - the. Work. Rate. Is. Unmatched. Like duh the whole team works hard but Andi is constantly looking for what needs to be done and getting herself there to do it. We didn’t have our regular size advantage in midfield and she took it upon herself to be the most physical presence in the middle of the field.
Moe - I hope she did better in training because I was not overly impressed. She seemed to not match the intensity and was getting beat physically. Was not surprised at the halftime sub.
Sanchez - good energy, could be a little stronger on the ball. Obviously worked well with her Spirit teammates. She just needs to tighten things up, there’s a lot of potential
Kristie - made an ENORMOUS difference being out there. She had some insane flick passes, great runs on and off the ball, and combined well with so many players out there. AND she was always the first to follow shots for a chance at a second ball. And that spin turn! We all saw that? Right? God.
Mal - Foudy kept saying she had moments of brilliance but I honestly kept forgetting she was out there. Her corners left something to be desired. I wish she had been involved more - there just wasn’t a lot happening with Moe and Fox. They were an unfamiliar three and didn’t connect.
Sophia - she another one that is so much fun. She is fearless, and is confident enough to just go for it. When she drew 2 defenders out and gave a solid Tobin attempt to take them on… I mean, it didn’t work but she tried! She rotated well with Kelley and ran her ass off. ‘Twas a good game
Midge - her touches were so clean and I wish she had more time. She was working super well off the ball, but happened to be on the side that had less action. MORE MIDGE NEXT GAME
Cat - it’s nuts how young she is and how composed she is. Feels like a theme with all the young Stanford players. A few of her touches in the box let her down but she was involved in all our good moments. Her movement between the midfield and front line to open things up, her vision, just, very very good. Gonna need a sick combo with her and Rose next game to make up for this goose egg result.
And Trinity! First cap, first cap!! V similar to how she plays in NWSL, which, makes sense. She had some really promising moments but I’m cool with her easing into things. She’s so eager and ready to go a million miles an hour. Her runs down the side were great, some good crosses, chances in the box and willingness to help on defense. What a beginning for her.
So. Not the result we want. Goals are certainly way more fun. But it wasnt BAD. Well, maybe the corners were bad. We don’t suck though. Czech Republic just plays like South Korea and we struggle with that. Nothing new. And to be fair, the Czech keeper was really good. I would like to ASSUME they practice breaking that kind of defense down, but I would like to stupidly recommend that they WORK ON THAT MORE
Goooooooodnight
