Sometimes the depths of Harley’s feeling for Peter is incomprehensible, even to him.

It catches him off guard, in moments like this. Harley had been awake for a while; his body clock is a temperamental thing. But Peter sleeps like a baby wherever and whenever he wants. Watching the morning light inch over Peter in increments, until he’s covered in gold and none the wiser, well, Harley didn't think he could fall even more in love.

But even that is an inadequate of a description, really. Each nerve ending of Harley's is so attuned to Peter that the soundless shift in his breathing from sleeping to waking sends a thrill up his spine. You, Harley thinks, to the beat of his heart, you, you you. Peter is his magnetic north. Like a blind man wanting for daylight, or the tide seeking the shore. Since the first day they met, Harley’s been drawn to Peter like the other man is hooked into him.

Harley has the sudden, fierce desire to press his lips to the soft skin just underneath Peter’s eye. Right beneath his eyelashes. Wants nothing more to run his nose along the strong bone of Peter’s, and pepper kisses from one side to the other across the top of his cheeks.

Peter’s blush is something Harley aches for.

Instead he raises a hand, and grazes the tips of his fingers along Peter’s jaw, his cheekbone, at last tucking an errant strand of hair behind the curve of his ear.

“You don’t even know what you do to me,” Harley murmurs, unintentionally turning thought into voice.

Peter, watching him through sleep-hazed, honeyed eyes, smiles indulgently. He turns his head, lips pressing against the very edge of the palm of Harley’s hand in the lightest suggestion of a kiss.

When Peter speaks, Harley can feel each word vibrating through him, the brush of air across his wrist with each exhale.

“Similar to what you do to me, I expect,” Peter says, and Harley smiles, bright and content and wonderful.

This is not from You’re Freaking Out although I did make some progress on that today. It’s actually a little one-shot I just started today bc parknerweek inspired me. It is a little baby fledgling fic currently at 1.3k. Hopefully I can finish it up in the next couple days and post it in its entirety. Enjoy!

He can’t do this. He can’t—

With a soft ding, the elevator doors open revealing the well-lit garage filled with precisely parked cars in pristine condition. He nearly trips over his feet in his haste to get into the driver seat of his Mustang and comes close to pulling the door closed on his arm. He can almost breathe in the cab of the car. It’s better than the anxiety of the tower, not knowing who he could run into, but it’s full of memories. And by memories, he means their glaring absence.

The mustard stain from when Peter dropped an entire hot dog on the floor is gone. Or rather… not there yet? The douchey driving gloves Tony bought him as a gag and Harley wore ironically at first but grew to love aren’t resting on the dash, and the sunglasses Peter leaves on the passenger visor aren’t there either. It smells different too. It still smells like Rose Hill. Like dust and good manure and diner fries. He never realized… He never noticed the smell before.

He shakes away the thought. He doesn’t have time to miss home. He’s gotta figure this out. It’s a long-shot and maybe it’s dumb, but there’s an address scribbled on a sticky note in his wallet and it’s the only idea he’s got. He never got around to throwing away the note, despite never using it, and now he’s thanking his lucky stars for his laziness. 

He grabs the keys out of the center console and starts the car.

Parking takes forever. He doesn’t have any change on him so in the end he has to take the chance on getting a parking ticket for not paying the meter and then still has to walk ten minutes to get to the “sanctum”. He’s not sure who gets to decide what buildings are called but when he finally walks up the front steps to the “sanctum” he think whoever it is should maybe take a chill pill. It looks like a regular old building to him.

Parkner All Nighter

Peter is an idiot.

Like…an idiot in the way that only a genius with two degrees at twenty-one can be. Brilliantly booksmart, but apparently lacking an insane amount of common sense. He can’t even blame the alcohol because he’s been drinking water the past hour and hasn’t even had that much to drink. No, he’s not drunk. He’s just…enraptured by the bartender with wild blonde curls and tattoos.

The same bartender who he’s currently clutching as they ride through the city on a motorcycle.

They pull up to a stop light. Peter leans forward a little to ask, “Where are we going?”

“I hadn’t decided,” the man, Harley, answers. “You need to get home?”

“Come on, Stark. Live a little.”

“We’re going out to tonight! It’s your birthday, Peter, and we live in one of the most magical cities in the world.”

“Honey, go out and have fun with your friends.”

Peter swallows. “No. I just, um—what do you do for fun?”

“It depends,” Harley answers. “Sometimes I go dancing with my friends, sometimes we hang out and watch movies, sometimes we find the best cupcakes in the city.”

“Cupcakes?”

Harley chuckles. He does that a lot, chuckling. It’s deep and rumbling, and Peter can feel it where his hands are at Harley’s ribs. “I guess I know where we’re goin’ first. Hold on, sweetheart.”

The bike takes off.

Someone, years later, in an interview for a magazine Peter doesn’t remember the name of but was definitely more interested in their love life than their contribution to science, asked him why Harley.

“Why Harley for what?” Peter had asked, confused.

“Anything, everything,” the journalist had replied, and the suddenness of it had struck Peter, he remembers that much, the way they’d lent forward, eager for an answer. “He’s your work partner as well as your life partner. There must be something about him.”

He’d snorted, because there was definitely something about Harley, that’s for sure.

“Harley’s, well,” Peter took a moment, to gather his thoughts, failed at figuring out how to put into words that his whole world existed for some six-foot-three menace from Tennessee.  “He’s Harley,” he’d said in the end, not at all to the point but clear all the same.

And that was explanation enough, really, when Peter thinks about it.

Drabble: hair braiding

Peter drifted in and out of consciousness. A happy sigh slipping through his lips as he snuggled further into the couch, his head propped up on Harley’s lap with his eyes shut against the blaring coloured lights of the television.

He was pretty sure Harley was still watching whatever the action movie was but Peter had just spent an entire day swinging through the city so he was entirely satisfied with simply lying down while the other boy absently carded his fingers through his hair.

It was nice. It was relaxing. It was… wait. What?

“What’re you doing?” He mumbled. Harley’s fingers continued their new movements, gentle tugs at his hair. Peter refused to open his eyes but he could almost imagine the way Harley would be looking, his brow furrowed and his tongue poking out in concentration.

“Shh,” He hushed, “I’m braiding your hair, so shut up.”

Begrudgingly, one eye cracked open to stare at Harley. He watched the way he wove the strands of hair that May had been telling him to cut for weeks, over and over. Fingernails scraped lightly against his scalp as more hair was added to the braid, it took a valiant effort on Peter’s part not to shiver at the contact.

Dutifully he stayed still. Not a single muscle in his body moved until Harley finished his work where he learnt back into the couch cushions with a proud grin upon his face.

Peter’s hand inched slowly upward until he could run his fingertips against the bumps that now crossed his head. A smile tugged at his cheeks as he had no doubt that the braid was an absolute mess. Strands were poking out in every direction and none of his hair was laid evenly in place. But Harley was proud and Peter could feel nothing but a warm buzzing in his chest with how much he loved it.

“Can you do this again sometime?” The words slipped out before Peter had even thought them through, but Harley nodded enthusiastically, already gently shooing Peter’s hands out of the way so his own could get back to work.

“For you? Always.”

None of them is legally adopted by Tony, but they’re his emotional sons, as he says.

Harley met Tony when he had 11, Peter when he was 15, and they both treat him as a father figure. Still, they didn’t actually meet each other until Harley started college in New York ( H:19 P:16 )

Peter’s first impression of Harley was that he was a cool kid, which scared him off a little as first bc he thought he would be like Flash.

The more he talked to him, though, the more he proved Peter wrong. He was confident, but not an asshole. He was the kind of person who did not need to make people feel bad about themselves to feel good about himself.

He was a cool kid because he was simply himself, and he didn’t care what anyone had to say about him.

( he would find out a year later that all of that came from his childhood and how he learned to only care about his opinions after coming out as transgender )

Harley’s first impression of him was that Peter was weird but cute.

He knew from the very first moment he was a nerd ( the periodic table meme t-shirt he wore gave that up ), and the nervous smile, the way he fidgeted with his hands and the way he over talked because he didn’t know when to shut up was the absolute cutest for Harley.

Harley swears a lot ever since he was a kid ( there wasn’t really anyone to stop him from doing it ) but he hates insulting people with bad words, he prefers to do it the intelligent way, with long, smart words he specifically learned to insult.

Peter hates saying bad words because he can hear May’s voice in his head right after saying “you think you’re cool saying that, don’t you, young man? Well, you’re just another brat, congratulations, I didn’t raise you like that!”

Still when Harley swears he thinks it’s hot

Harley was Peter’s preferred driving teacher ( Tony used to get very nervous, May was all for theory and Ned thought he was a genius driver even though he passed his test because of a miracle ). He was the only one who answered his doubts calmly, didn’t get nervous and trusted him.

Sometimes Harley can be a little mean to people but that’s just the way he shows love.

He’s only ever sweet to Peter but he tries to play it cool anytime his soft side slips off.

Peter is asexual, and he actually forgot to tell Harley because he never asked for sex or tried to spice things up.

One night they were hanging out ( like six months after they started dating ) and Peter showed him an asexual meme and Harley was like: “wait, you relate? Like- you’re ace?”

And Peter was like “WAIT I NEVER TOLD YOU?” And started panicking.

And Harley told him everything was fine, that love isn’t sex and that he loved him all the same

And Peter teared up because 1- he had the most amazing boyfriend and 2- HARLEY LOVED HIM.

So he said “I love you too much”, and Harley blushed and tried to change the subject

And Peter was confused but let it slip

But then he noticed that when anyone told Harley they loved him he always did the same and tried to joke his way out of the spotlight

And Peter made a vow to always make Harley feel loved, either with his words or his actions, to make him aware that he REALLY meant something to people and that they really DO love him.

Some people have told Harley to see a psychiatrist but it wasn’t after a late night conversation with Peter that he finally decided to.

They argue sometimes, but never to an extent that they think of breaking up as an option.

Harley is really proud and hates to admit he’s wrong, but he’ll overcome it for Peter

Even though the proudest, he’s always the one that apologises first. He isn’t willing to make either of them ( especially Peter ) feel bad because of his pride.

[ UPDATE: Peter was always scared at first that because of a fight they’d break up, and Harley noticed that- even though Peter firmly believed he was right- he always apologised before things could escalate. Then Harley realised that he was really scared of losing him after he had lost so many people already ( Uncle Ben right after and because of a fight ) so he told him he had the right to be mad at him, and that it wouldn’t change how he felt about him, so he should never give him the reason, especially if he thought he was right. ]

May LOVES Harley

He reminds her of Uncle Ben’s teenage years, when he’d be all rebel and mysterious and everyday would feel like an adventure

She is glad that Peter has someone spontaneous yet responsible enough to take him out of his comfort zone.

When he was 21 Harley decided to get bottom surgery, and Peter supported him through every stage and never left his side.

Peter has a lot of trouble organising, which triggers his anxiety even more than usual.

Harley is super organised ( Because he’s never had anyone to tell him to do things and has always done everything alone ) and has designed his own schedule system that fits his life perfectly.

He’s currently helping Peter create one of his own to help him with his anxiety.

Peter sometimes has anxiety attacks and Harley has talked to him, May and Tony about how to help him through them in the best possible way ( he’s had a few of his own but in really concrete situations that aren’t likely to happen again, so he prefers to focus on how to help Peter, because not everyone reacts the same during an anxiety attack )

They moved in together on Peter’s second year of college and Harley’s last ( three years after they started dating )

Harley took a few first aid courses in case Peter ever got wounded during Patrol.

so i thought since im not really writing much lately, id put a big list of all my ideas with brief summaries and if you guys wanted to see any in particular i could try to write a small oneshot of it.

1. basically peter having a long conversating with tony about the struggles of having his enhancements and explaining how he cant even kill himself because of his healing (like the scene from avengers)

2. Endgame au- “Hey peter? Its Tony- We did it. We won, pete- we won. Please Peter” then when peter’s in a coma he listens to a voicemail left by him before he left for the field trip (saved on insta) at some point peter says “i just wanted to be like you”

3. V slow (almost) major character death- three quick gunshots and a thump- peter worrying about tony’s head wound.

4. peter and harley falling in love (3k words) in tumblr drafts for harley

5. tony breaking down in the middle of a fight

6. Stony soulmate au- sharing scars.

7. “I didn’t think you cared about me”

8. Peter dragged underwater

9. Steve reading bucky’s journal in civil war

20. tony whump being kidnapped and refusing to give info on spiderman and peter saves him with rhodey and gets shot but because of adrenaline they don’t realise until they’re outside and peter collapses

21. the scene where he gets shot from enola holmes but it’s irondad- peter has a bulletproof vest on and gets shot by a shotgun and tony thinks he’s dead cause he’s oncounscious from being thrown into a wall
