I have been dying for Park Yoona to get a lead role since I saw her in Hotel Del Luna !! I think she could be absolutely STELLAR in a good drama with good writing and direction.

Also her and Lee Jae Wook ? YES ? They both have the ability to play complex character and i think they could both be very interesting to watch in terms of dynamic.

INSANE OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!! should have been the leads. should have been it! but her and tae sun hardly had scenes together and they always got co*kblocked by that weirdo with the glasses or whatever.

hey gp, would you ever give a phantom performer a favorite/adore ranking just based on their audios. maybe a c/p/or r that doesn't have a full video yet but you've love what you've heard from audios and people who have gone to their performances?

While I try not to let other peoples’ reviews affect my opinion (not that it doesn’t happen, but I try to leave it aside as much as possible), I actually already have given many performers a top ranking based solely on an audio or incomplete video (or, occasionally, a complete video that’s of questionable quality or distantly shot or something like that). Here’s a listing:

Audio only: 

Claire Moore - many early casts had audio only or low quality video, but they had such unique, classical voices and lovely portrayals that stood out no matter what

Maria Kesselman - ditto above

Michael Ball - ditto above

Mikael Samuelson - only a cast recording available to me at the time, impressed me anyway

Elisabeth Berg - ditto above

Susan Cuthbert - emotional with a warm, classical voice

Steve Barton - this applies to his Phantom: only an audio, but what an audio! And what a performance on that audio!

Tim Tobin - the Ken Doll Phantom was also great in the role

Glenda Balkan - glass-like voice with a vulnerable portrayal

Yoon Young Seok - he had only audios and singing in Korean, but I could feel every emotion

Hye Kyoung Lee - ditto above

Kim So Hyun - ditto above

Kristin Holck - light, beautiful voice full of emotion

Tabitha Webb - fiery little Christine, interesting voice, rather pop but with just enough classical influence

Julie Goodwin - gorgeous operatic voice

Michelle van de Ven - fascinating portrayal and voice

Incomplete video: 

Kevin Gray - admittedly it’s all the Phantom scenes

Barbara Fonyo - her video is missing everything from after the first lair to ‘Wishing’, but she was so good I didn’t care

Anna O’Byrne - she was missing just some smaller scenes, but what a unique performance

Lisa-Anne Wood - even scattered, blindshot clips could not hide how good she was

Difficult to watch video: 

Dave Willetts - fuzzy video with tons of generation loss, and he wowed me anyway

Jan Hartley-Morris - ditto above

Janine Kitzen - only has audio and monitor video shot from the back of the theater, but she gave her all with a particularly passionate Act Two

Flemming Enevold - another wideshot video, but that voice, those hand movements

Tomas Ambt Kofod - applies just to his Raoul: wideshot video only highlighted how much of a superhero Raoul he was

Emmi Christensson - phone video shot from the very front made it hard to see her at times, yet she had the most fascinating take I’d seen in a while

Some combo of the above: 

Rebecca Caine - used a combo of her London video, London soundboards, and Toronto bootleg to decide, “yep, she’s awesome”

Patti Cohenour - combined Broadway audio with highlight clips of her in Toronto, adored her fragile, ethereal Christine

Rebecca Luker - her video was so hard to watch I ended up using the soundboard audio of her more than that, but really that just showed off her silvery voice all the better

Mia Karlsson - used some video clips of her combined with audio, showing a subtly intuitive Christine with gorgeous high notes

Angel’s Last Mission: A kind-hearted and adorable angel falls in love with The World’s Biggest Grump. Get your tissues ready.

One Spring Night: Yoo Ji Ho & Lee Jung In She likes him pretty fast if I’m honest but does fight the urge, where he is just puppy heart eyes from the start.

He is Psychometric: Lee Ahn & Yoon Jae In AND 2nd couple Lee Dae Bong and Kim So Hyun Both boys are totally into the girls so this is like a double whammy of cute boy likes girl first love stories.

Flower Boy Next Door: Everyone is in love with Go Dok Mi She has a love triangle but Enrique Geum is freakin’ adorable and works super hard to bring her out of her shell.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo: This is tragic and I don’t recommend unless you want to be left in a devastated puddle but doesn’t everyone think Wang So and Heo Soo are a grump and sunshine pairing (even though there isn’t a lot of room for sunshine)?

Search: WWW: Bae Ta Mi & Park Mo Geon Noona romance where he aggressively courts her but she doesn’t consider him relationship material due to the age difference. They do hook up but she resists an actual relationship for a while.

Encounter: CEO Cha Soo Hyun & Manic Pixie Dream Boy Kim Jin Hyuk Most noona romances have the guy being super into the girl and the girl resists their charms because of age and status, and this is totally like that. 

Ho Goo’s Love: Ho Goo & Do Hee He looooooooooves herrrrrr :P

Just Between Lovers: Kang Doo & Moon Soo He likes her first, like waaaaaay first back in time. The two of these lovelies are my faves so, yeah

Secret Love Affair: Lee Sun Jae & Oh Hye Won Because she’s married and is much older, she tries to fight loving him, but he is super into her the minute he sees her. Intense noona romance warning.

Romance is a Bonus Book: Cha Eun Ho & Kang Dan Yi Because she’s older and always thought of Eun Ho as a friend, she didn’t notice how much he loved her at first. 

Shopping King Louis: Louis & Bok Sil These cuties are so adorable and Louis sees her on TV and just basically falls for her instantly. I’m not sure she’s exactly uninterested in him but she has a bunch of stuff to worry about so she’s not really thinking romance right away.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: Bong Soon & Min Hyuk Min Hyuk is so into her, he has a painting of her in his CLOSET ok while she’s mostly pining for a bossy sexist cop.

The Package: Ma Roo & So So She’s a tour guide so she has no interest in getting involved with any of her clients but Ma Roo is a bit charming and totally likes her.

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: Kim Mi So & Yeong Joon I’m not 100% sure this one counts but I think it’s pretty obvious that he really likes Mi So but she knows he’s too conceited to date so turns him down at first.
