#pagan offerings

Note
Hello! Thank you for this blog! I have a question about offerings! I really want to do food/drink offerings, especially things that are home made, but have pest issues. Will covering the food in some way make it not work? Is it the thought that counts?
Witch does not equal doer of entity/deity work or Pagan. But hopefully I can still help. I’m gonna ask my that followers handle this one by answering and or @ing accounts that work with deities. Also gonna add a bunch of tags so hopefully practitioners who do those practices will see this and help ya!

Ingredients for spells and offerings and what they mean to YOU.
If you gather ingredients for spells/offerings, also check what these mean to you, personally. Here are two examples of what I mean. A lot of pagan deities are said to love alcohol as offerings, for instance wine, mead or beer. However, if you personally do not drink alcohol (for any reason, and there are so many possible ones), maybe find something else to offer. I have seen sugar or honey used often in kitchen witchcraft. It stands for joy or »the sweetness« of love or life. However, my own perspective on sugar is a rather negative one for dietary reasons. And I do not use honey either. So I’d rather use something else which is associated with sweetness.

Olympians! Heroes! Nymphs! Daemon! Spirts!
We give praise and offering to you
Who make up the world
around us as
Energy in everything
Devotional of words and
song and hymns
You make up the world
around us see and
guide things that we
Us mortals cannot see
All of you
whoever me hear
this prayer of aid
let it be now out of
thousands of offerings and
devotionals you show
kindness upon this request
May you aid the people
of Ukraine in their fight and
survival may you give aid
to the local gods and
spirits to help their
people in this time and
in the aftermath of re-growing
Great is your power and
perfectly it is applied
may one of you hear our prayers
and help us in return
for our devotion and
gratitude we have
given recall to you
Olympus and all those below
We humble are
Self’s in devotion

I went hiking recently and found someone left a sweet little offering to the woodland spirits ❤️ I added a few couple flowers of my own and said a prayer to the naiads who live in the waterfall just a little bit behind this rock. It was such an unexpected, but welcome sight 🥰 (click for better quality!)

I’ve been adding to my altars the past couple of days, now that I’m home from holiday traveling. I’ve been feeling a bit disconnected from my practice because of said traveling and just general end of the semester bullshit, and my way of dealing with feeling distant usually involves gifts lol. I added a few things to my Aphrodite, Apollo/Artemis, Athena, and healing altars, in addition to giving food offerings, which has helped me to start feeling more grounded 💕

Glamour Witch Tips♡
Tumblr media
• use your face wash to cleanse away the negative energy from your day
• say or think healing affirmations while applying your moisturizer
• primer can be used to make good things "stick" to you
• use the application of your foundation to set the intentions for your day and what you hope to accomplish
• use concealer to draw sigils or mask anything you wish to hide
• incorporate color magick with your eyeshadow and lipstick
• enchant your lipstick and lipglosses to make your words have impact
• apply your mascara or eyeliner with the intention of seeing through the bullshit
• braid your hair with whatever intention you see fit (knot magic!)

Pagan tip: If you offer your deity/deities water, you could add some drops of essential oils (preferably of herbs which are associated with your deity). You could also light a fragrance lamp and, in a sense, let the scent be the offering.

Discreet/Practical Travel Altar: My Wallet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe it's just the Hermes devotee in me, but I love travel altars! I love how discreet they can be, but they can also have a practical use...which made me realize, my wallet is a travel altar devoted to Hermes!
The wallet itself can have a pattern and decorations reminiscent of a particular vibe, energy, spirit, deity...and prayer cards can double as idols without taking up too much space. Plus, anything you keep in it, like money, can be offerings!
I purchased the wallet a while ago from SewSophia--with the colors and map design of the fabric, it was the exact Hermes vibe I was looking for. I added a set of HearthfireHandiworks' bracelet prayer beads on the keyring, and the prayer card is the lovely work of WyrdCuriosities. I've had all these things together in this wallet for years, but it really has been a functional travel altar all this time, who knew! 🤣

My husband gave me permission to share a picture of this special offering vessel that he made to propitiate his Kiln Spirit when working on ceramics.
I love it SO much.
